Szmuglewicz - Opis:
- The palace o f Gułtowy, Poznań Voivodship, dates from the end of the 18th century. The author deals with the mural paintings in the palace ball-room. It was in that room — rebuilt in its history — that the original mural paintings by Antoni Smuglewicz were revealed from under the layer of plaster. Next, the subsequent decorations of the walls and ceiling were exposed as well. In the course of further conservation proceedings one has succeeded i.a. in reconstruction of both the division of the walls into twent* four columns, separated from one another by a sumptuous arabesque decoration, and of the plafond with a figurai composition. Thy execrable condition of the original plasters and wooden ceiling ie described by the author and also the methods of their conservatione The restoration and adaptation work concluded, the palace as Gułtowy is at present the seat of the State Farms Management.
