Opis:
We present numerical results of a temporal evolution of impulsively excited magnetosonic waves in a solar coronal loop that is approximated by a set of two straight plasma slabs of mass density enhancement. Numerical simulations reveal that shapes of wavelet spectra of time signatures of these waves depend on a distance between the strands and on a position of the initial pulse. We find that with a distance growing between these strands short period waves contribute more while long period waves contribute less to the wavelet spectra. We demonstrate that a presence of the second parallel strand affects considerably wave propagation in comparison to one strand alone. We find out that the initial pulse triggers a packet of propagating waves among witch sausage and kink modes are present simultaneously.

Using the e-CALLISTO network radio observations on 1st June 2015, we present an analysis of the complex type III and type II solar radio bursts during low activity. This event occurred on 1st July 2015 at 13:52 UT (complex solar burst type III) and 13:40 UT - 13:44 UT (solar burst type II). Solar burst type detected at (i) BIR, (ii) BLENSW, (iii) Essen, (iv) Glascow (v) Osra, (vi) Rwanda. The spectral shape consists of high flux densities at meter wavelengths. The energy going into plasma heating during each flare was estimated by computing the time evolution of the energy content of the thermal plasma and obtaining the peak value. This constitutes a lower limit to the thermal energy, since it does not account for the cooling of the plasma prior to this time nor to any heating at later times. It is also believed that the meter wavelength branch of the this type III spectrum may be attributable to second-phase accelerated electrons to form type II burst. There are four sunspots of the active regions (AR2355, AR2356, AR2357, and AR2358) during this event. The solar wind recorded during the event is 342.4 km/s and the density of the proton recorded is 4.1 protons/cm3. Moreover, the are some evidence that radio-quiet CMEs mostly came from the edges of the sun. The main goal of this study was to determine whether is there any possibilities that the radio burst can be formed even the Sun is at low activity and this event is one of the candidate events.

The photodegradation of MAG at various parameters are reported. The mechanisms of dye degradation in natural sun light explain the higher photocatalytic activity of the catalyst. The result indicates the advantage of wastewater treatment by it. The electrochemical study from DSSC analysis showed increased current by WO3-TiO2 nanomaterial. It was proposed that the catalyst was found to be stable and reusable.

We consider impulsive excitation of slow magnetosonic standing waves in a two-dimensional hot solar coronal slab. Results of numerical simulations have revealed that initially launched pulses trigger mainly fundamental slow mode and its first harmonic, depending on the pulses' spatial location. Our parametric study has shown these slow standing waves to exhibit wave periods of about 13min. The slow standing waves are accompanied by fast modes simultaneously present in the system.

Background. Organisations now have to rely on knowledge-worker productivity rather than advances in production equipment to sustain their businesses. There is a quite remarkable contrast in the operating procedures between the “East” and “West” approaches. Research aims. This paper explores how an amalgamated wisdom of East and West management approach can instigate a wisdom-based renaissance of humanistic epistemology to provide a platform of harmony in managing knowledge-worker productivity, one of the biggest management challenges of the 21st century. Method. The paper invites further discussions from the social and business research communities on the significance of “interpretation realism” technique in comprehending Lao Tzu, Confucius and Sun Tzu’s philosophies written in “Classical Chinese.” Key findings. This paper concludes with a call to explore how amalgamating Eastern cultural wisdom (favouring a humanity approach) and Western practices (favouring a performance approach) help to instigate business harmony and its impact on the management of knowledge-practitioners and their productivity.

The work contains an analysis of security culture phenomenon from the perspective of Sun Tzu. The idea here is to build the entire universe and a placed-in man, as an area in which operate the impact from the energy of macrocosm. It is the same – corresponding to the body of the universe – with microcosm – the body of a human being immersed in the interaction energy of the endless universe. This concept, combining with the ideas of Confucianism and Buddhism, which here are not broadly discussed, has practical application for over two thousand years in the deliberations on the various areas of human activity. The principles of building and applying of strategies and tactics are to some extent determined by the rhythm of the endless universe cosmic energy – chi (qi). Prevention of risks in an effective way by competent governance in time of peace, and a skilful command in war, comes down to an agile mediation between “Heaven” and “Earth” to use the rhythm of cosmic harmony in the ranks of subordinates.

A short term variation of solar flare in nine months (January 2010 to September 2010) is presented. This paper review and analyze the correlation between radio flux strength measurement and solar flare in the X-ray region. The radio flux measurement data were taken from the National Research Council; Ottawa while hard X-ray emission observed by Royal Observatory of Belgium. The overall range of solar radio flux recorded in this study ranging from 68 x 10-22 Wm-2Hz-1 to 96 x 10-22 Wm-2Hz-1. As there was no class of an X of solar flare reported at all in this study, we can confirm that there are no major effects that happened on Earth and outer space such as Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) and solar storms. We concluded that the Sun shows a very minimum activity towards 24th solar cycle.

The point of departure for the reflections contained in this article is the motif of the sun in Tomasz Mann’s Death in Venice. Analysing the presence of the sun in the work turns out to be fruitful for distinguishing and connecting several symbolic planes, on which the issues of Death in Venice and the drama of the main character are depicted: the relationship between contemporary times and antiquity, the cultural North-South axis, the destructive power of beauty as well as the individual fate of the artist marked by decadence. The figure of the sun seems to provide material for the interpretation of the figure of Gustav von Aschenbach as an incarnation of contemporary Icarus and allows the reader to see the path which the protagonist of Death in Venice follows in a new light.

Children with thalassemia major generally experience growth retardation. One of the growth parameters is serum vitamin D levels. The main source of vitamin D comes from endogenous synthesis with sun exposure and dietary sources. This cross sectional study involved 84 children with thalassemia major aged 4-14 years old taken through concecutive sampling. Nutritional intake was obtained through a semi quantitative food frequency questionnaire, while the duration of sun exposure was calculated at peak UVB intensities at 11.00-15.00. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method was used to examine vitamin D levels. The data was analized by Spearman Rank corelation dan multiple linier regresion. The results were 4.8% of subjects had vitamin D insufficiency and 95.2% had deficiency. Daily average intake of nutrients compared to their requirements were energy intake 70.5% (1538.7 Kcals), protein 55,4 % (45.5 grams), fat 79,2% (57.7 grams), carbohydrates 68,6% (204.9 grams) and vitamin D 15,8% (2.4 µg). The mean (SD) of sun exposure was 158.3 (91.2) minutes. Energy, protein, and fat intake were significantly associated with vitamin D levels (r = 0.27; 0.31; 0.38 and p <0.025). Sun exposure was strongly associated with vitamin D levels (r = 0.80; p <0.025), while vitamin D intake was associated with vitamin D levels (p> 0.025). Fat intake and sun exposure have a strong effect on vitamin D levels, with a regression equation of vitamin D levels = 5.62 + 0.22 * fat intake + 0.12 * sun exposure.

The observational of active region emission of the Sun contain an critical answer of the time-dependence of the underlying heating mechanism. In this case, we investigate an X2.2 solar flare from a new Active Region AR2087 on the southeast limb of the Sun. The solar flare peaked in the X-rays is around 11:42 UT. It was found that the snapshot of this event from the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) channel with the GOES X-ray plot overlayed. The flare is very bright causes by a diffraction pattern. We explore a parameter space of heating and coronal loop properties. Based on the wavelength, it shows plasma around 6 million Kelvin. At the same time, data from the NOAA issued an R3 level radio blackout, which is centered on Earth where the Sun is currently overhead at the North Africa region. This temporary blackout is caused by the heating of the upper atmosphere from the flare. The blackout level is now at an R1 and this will soon pass. Other than the temporary radio blackout for high frequencies centered over Africa this event will not have a direct impact on us. Until now, we await more data concerning a possible Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) but anything would more than likely not head directly towards Earth. An active region AR2087 just let out an X1.5 flare peaking at 12:52 UT. This shows plasmas with temperatures up to about 10 Million Kelvin. This event is considered one of the massive eruption of the Sun this year.

In this paper we propose a renewable energy storing system in order to harness optimal solar radiation. In consideration of photosynthesis process of a tree, photovoltaic cells of this artificial tree are arranged by Fibonacci pattern instead of leaves. This design will increase efficiency of storing energy compare to flat structure. To solve the problem of low efficiency of a solar system, it is necessary to orient photovoltaic cells with varying direction of periodic sun irradiation. Taking this into account, a tracking system based on one-degree angle of movement maintaining small angle of tolerance, is implemented with a specific movement flexibility for any promising fluctuation of sunlight. A incomplex techniqe and low cost design makes it economical and easy implementable.

The article is an attempt to answer the question about the character of contemporary war by outlining a counterpoint between the strategic thought of the two most valued classics of military thought - Sun Tzu and Carl von Clausewitz. The author analyses interpretations of contemporary armed conflicts, which preach the obsolescence of Clausewitz's strategic thought and the transition to a postmodern paradigm based on Sun Tzu theses. The article argues with this approach, defending the legitimacy of the elements of political and military strategy used in past conflicts based on the Clausewitzian paradigm, as well as the universality of the Prussian general's theses on the philosophical nature of war.

Opis:
The paper examines the official reception of Dr Sun Yat-sen to whose programme the communist authorities turned in search of ideological foundations for the new policy of ‘reforms and opening’ promulgated after the end of the so-called cultural revolution. The analysis, based on speeches of leaders at gatherings commemorating anniversaries of Sun’s birth and outbreak of 1911 Revolution, finds that the ideas of Sun – addressed as great national hero, great patriot, great fore-runner of revolution – helped to mobilise people to carry out current national tasks with the great renaissance of the Chinese nation as the most important. The speeches exhort to follow Sun’s indomitable will of a great revolutionary in order to work hard towards this noble goal, which he envisaged as ‘rejuvenation of China’ as early as 1894. Sun Yat-sen’s ability and readiness to correct and refine his ideas which led him to accept of Marxism (with no further elaboration as to the extent of this acceptance) and to co-operate with the Chinese Communist Party was emphasised the most by the speakers. CPC is portrayed as the truest and steady heir of Sun Yat-sen’s programme, the heir who finalized his struggle for establishing China as a genuinely independent state granting social justice to its nation. Strongly emphasized is the topic of unification of China – meaning the unification with Taiwan – prominently quoted as one of Sun’s ultimate goals. Speakers refer to Sun Yat-sen’s appeal on ‘China’s obligation to make a contribution to the mankind’ once China’s proper position in the world has been restored. The leaders’ approach to Sun’s programme is selective and somehow simplified, limited to the political challenges of the day. Fortunately, an upsurge of research on Sun Yat-sen’s works by the academic circles in China since the 80s has brought more in-depth findings.

This article explores two films by Kurahara Koreyoshi: Black Sun and Safari 5000, in the context of the scholars John Russell and Jonathan D. Mackintosh’s approaches to racism and so-called negrophilia in Japanese mass-culture and cinema. The authors argue that cultural stereotypes even have a negative impact on the artistically original Japanese directors, who only seem to be independent and express their thoughts freely.

Space weather has a close connection with the interaction of the Earth and the Sun. As equatorial country, the characteristic features of the climate of Malaysia are uniform temperature, very high humidity and copious rainfall. Malaysia has an average of temperature of 26.7 °C per year. Therefore, it is suitable to monitor the Sun. In the following work, we will emphasize the development of Sun monitoring in Malaysia. The number of observatories are increasing. A dedicated work to understand the Sun activity in radio region is a part of an initiative of the United Nations together with NASA in order to support developing countries participating in „Western Science‟ research. Realizing how important for us to monitor the space weather, therefore, we have been utilizing the new radio spectrometer, CALLISTO (Compound Low Cost Low Frequency Transportable Observatories) spectrometer. Malaysia is one of the earliest country from South- East Asia (ASEAN) that involve this research. One of the advantages to start the solar monitoring in Malaysia is because our strategic location as equator country that makes possible to observing a Sun for 12 hours daily throughout a year. We strongly believe that Malaysia as one of contributor of solar activity data through E-CALLISTO network. This is a very good start for developing a space weather in Malaysia. With the implementation of CALLISTO systems and development of solar monitoring network, a new wavelength regime is becoming available for solar radio astronomy. Overall, this article presents an overview of space weather in Malaysia. With the present level of the international collaboration, it is believed that the potential involvement of local and international scientist in space weather will increase.

Opis:
This study evaluates Adichie’s Purple Hibiscus and Half of a Yellow Sun as vociferous protestations and call for redress concerning diverse forms of historical and contemporary misrule, inequalities and injustices in the Nigerian society and beyond. Thus Adichie is not just a feminist but also a humanist who is genuinely concerned with the predicaments of the subaltern in the hands of their powerful oppressors. Using New Historicism as a theoretical parameter, the study posits that several factors that resulted to conflict situations and discontent in the past in certain societies are still prevalent in contemporary times, hence the continuous agitations from various ethnic nationalities and sections of such domains, particularly in Nigeria, Adichie’s country of birth. This demonstrates that injustice and oppression perpetrated anywhere can only be laid to rest when they are sincerely redressed with nothing else but justice. The study, therefore, avers that several unresolved historical injustices and ills raised in the novels be resolutely redressed by the contemporary leaderships in those jurisdictions, and where necessary make appropriate reparations, restitution or tender decisive apologies. Doing so in the right manner will invariably contribute to global peace and stability. This implies that for lasting peace to reign in the concerned domains, several issues bordering on historical and modern-day injustices, misrule, human rights abuses, ethnic, racial and religious rivalry, etc., of which the novelist has consistently raised eloquent protestations through her fictions under study should be given serious positive attention and redress in the interest of all.

A preliminary correlation study of the herring − bone type II with a type III solar burst of has been made. On the basis of this study and in combination with the observation in radio emission, an interpretation of the mechanism of the occurrence of this event has been proposed. The type II solar radio burst with a split and herring bone is occurring at the same time from 36 MHz till 50 MHz. We have noted that an individual type III burst also can be observed at 13:23 UT from 45-50 MHz. During that day, a stream of solar wind from a coronal hole on the Sun has disturbing Earth's magnetosphere creating a minor geomagnetic storm, G1 on the NOAA scale of G1-G5. In this case, the solar flare is not very high, but CME is responsible to form a solar radio burst type II. Overall, based on seven days observation beginning from 25th March 2013, the solar activity is considered as very low. The highest solar flare can be observed within 7 days is only a class of B8 flare. There was no CMEs event that directed to the Earth is detected. The geomagnetic field activities are also at minimum level. Although the solar flare event is at a lower stage, it is still possible to form the solar radio burst type II which is associated with CME event. From the selected event, although theoretically solar radio burst type II is associated with CMEs, there is no compelling solar radio burst type II without a flare. The only difference is the dynamic structure and the intensity and speed of both phenomena (solar flares and CMEs) which depend on the active region. Nevertheless, understanding how energy is released in solar flares is one of the central questions in astrophysics. This solar radio burst type II formation is the first event that successfully detected by e-CALLISTO network in 2013.

Solar flare is one of the solar activities that take place in the outermost layer of the corona. Solar flares can heat the material to several million degrees in just a few minutes and at the same time they release the numerous amount of energy. It is believed that a change of magnetic field lines potentially creates the solar flares. The objectives of the study are to identify and compare the types of solar flares (in X-Ray) region and to improve understanding of solar flares. Data are taken from the NOAA website, from the United States Department of Commerce, NOAA, Space Weather Prediction Center (SPWC). Solar radio flux readings were merged together with the three classes and a total of nine graphs were plotted. In illustrating the relationship of solar radio flux and solar flares, it can be explained by studying the range values of flux corresponding to flares values. From this case study, it was found that the minimum value of solar radio flux in order for the flares to occur is equivalent 68 x 10-22Wm-2Hz-1. Thus, whenever the values of solar radio flux are high, there should be a higher number of flares produced by the sun. The overall range of solar radio flux recorded in this study ranging from 68 x 10-22 Wm-2Hz-1 to 96 x 10-22 Wm-2Hz-1. Observing and collecting data from the Sun and develop our very own new prediction methods will leads the accuracy of the prediction of the behavior of the Sun more precisely.

This paper provides a short review of some of the basic concepts related to the origin of Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs). The numerous ideas which have been put forward to elucidate the initiation of CMEs are categorized in terms of whether this event is a gradual CME or impulsive CME. In this case, an earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) was observed on April 2, 2014 by the Large Angle Spectrometric Coronagraph (LASCO) C2. This recent observations obtained a large impulsive CMEs. The CME, originating from the active region AR2027. The speed of CMEs is 1600 kms-1. A halo CME, a bright expanding ring at the North-West region is exploded beginning at about 14:36 UT, and the process of departing, expansion and propagation are highlighted. We discuss the correspondence of this event with the structure of the CME in the LASCO data. It is believed that the high solar flare and a Moreton waves initiate this kind of CMEs.

In a recent article Andrzej Ćwiek (2015) criticized on ideological grounds one of the hypotheses concerning the reconstruction of the Solar Altar in the Complex of the Sun Cult of the Temple of Hatshepsut in Deir el-Bahari. The theoretical reconstruction in question, presented as one of the possibilities in an earlier text by the present author (Dziedzic 2013), called for two obelisks and a sacrificial table standing on the Solar Altar located in the open courtyard of the complex. Ćwiek also pointed to the practical difficulties associated with transportation and placement of stone obelisks. This article describes the technical aspects of transporting and placing obelisks in two different locations. It also contains calculations concerning the weight impact of the altar elements (obelisks) on the altar structure.

A compact solar flare was observed during a total solar eclipse event on 13-14 November 2012. This phenomenon is beginning in local time on November 14 west of the date line over northern Australia, and ended in local time on November 13 east of the date line near the west coast of South America. During the eclipse, the highest magnitude was 1.0500, occurring only 12 hours before perigee, with the maximum eclipse totality lasting just over four minutes. Considering the observational facts, the solar radio burst type III can be detected from the National Space Centre Malaysia by the Compound Low Cost Low Frequency Transportable Observatory (CALLISTO) system from 00:00 UT –1:30 UT. The group and individual solar burst type III can be detected in the region of 150-400 MHz. However, the eclipse cannot be observed from our site. From the observation, it was found that the eruption in the active region is becoming more active with a tens of groups solar radio burst type III can be observed. It continuing bursting within the first one hour. The sunspot number exceeds to 108 and solar wind speed 454.9 km/sec. Still the Sun remains active and we need to consider other processes to explain in detailed the injection, energy loss and the mechanism of the acceleration of the particles.

The central argument of this essay is gathered from two historical novels published around same time and revolving around the same historical figure August Engelhardt. High temperature, in particular the tropical heat finds its metaphorical expression in the sun and then the fever as two prototypical colonial phantasies and/or fears and weaves the narrative around the temperature driven intricacies. Marc Buhls Das Paradies des August Engelhardt (2011) and Christian Krachts Imperium (2012) form the primary sources for the discussion within the topic of colonial desire with reference to the temperature as a significant indicator of either appreciation or devaluation underlining the colonial mentality. My paper concentrates on the overlapping sites within German speaking literature from post-colonial perspective. Along with the works of Marc Buhl and Christian Kracht, I cursorily touch upon Ilija Trojanows novel Der Weltensammler (2006), since it deals with the figure of a historical British colonial officer, Richard Francis Burton. The common thread running through all three works is not only the fact that they deal with scurrile biographies from the pages of colonial history in India and Africa, but that they develop the narrative on another common indicator – the Tropes and their Temperatures.

This research will focus on the major solar flares (X-Class) from active region AR 10720. All the data were retrieved and analysed from authority agencies which are SOHO and NOAA. From X-ray data, AR 10720 was producing 5 major solar flares namely X1.2, X2.6, X3.8, X1.3 and X7.1 from 106 of total solar flares. From data analysis, all major solar flares were associated with full halo coronal mass ejection (CME) except for solar flare X1.2. If major solar flare happened early, it will potentially to happened again in the same AR in the range 1-3 days. The speed of halo-CME was producing more than 1,000 kms-1. The Dst index shows all major solar flares affected the earth magnetic field and lead to geomagnetic storms in the ranges 1-3 days after the flares events. From proton speed data shows there is no obvious pattern towards major solar flares. From of all these data, prediction of major solar flares can be made in futures research.
