    Artykuł jest pierwszym w Polsce omówieniem dyskursu feministycznego Pameli Sue Anderson, filozofki religii z Oxfordu, oraz Michèle Le Doeuff, filozofki z Sorbony. Wspólnym rysem obu badaczek jest zainteresowanie racjonalnością, którą inspirowany psychoanalizą feminizm różnicy kojarzy z elementem męskim. Celem artykułu jest przeciwstawienie stanowiska Anderson i Le Doeuff dyskursowi Kristevej i Irigaray, których dokonania od lat inspirują feminizm. Wspólną płaszczyzną porównania myślicielek z różnych "szkół" jest ich usytuowanie kulturowe. Badaczki te uczestniczą w myśli europejskiej poprzez silne zakorzenienie w dyskursie francuskojęzycznym.     Artykuł podejmuje problematykę związaną z powieścią tajemnic – zapomnianym już dzisiaj gatunkiem, który zdominował rynek literacki w XIX wieku. Podstawą artykułu jest analiza archetypu gatunkowego, czyli Tajemnic Paryża Eugeniusza Sue. Autorka określa inspiracje tego typu powieściowego, jego cechy gatunkowe (nowi bohaterowie, nowe miejsca zdarzeń, nietypowy sposób prezentowania rzeczywistości, zjawisko inicjacji). Analizie poddane zostaje również nowoczesne miasto, które jest nową przestrzenią powieściowych zdarzeń. W tym artykule autorka zastanawia się również nad tym, jak powieści tajemnic, nazywane nawet powieściami rewolucyjnymi, oddziaływały na społeczeństwo XIX wieku.
    The article deals with issues related to the mystery novel—a genre now forgotten but in 19th century one that was the most known genre of popular literature. The basis of the article is the analysis of the genre archetype—Mysteries of Paris—written by Eugene Sue. The author identifies the inspirations for this type of novel, its genre features (new hero models, new locations of events, an unusual way of presenting reality, the phenomenon of initiation). An analyis of the modern city is also included, as a new space of novel’s plot. The author also reflects on how mystery novels, even called revolutionary novels, influenced the society of the nineteenth century.

    Some participants of popular culture do not confine themselves to a one-time contact with a favorite book or movie. Instead, they return to fictional worlds, creating literary texts based on original works and sharing these texts with other followers of the same pop-products. A number of these fan-made pieces contain idealized characters whose mentalities tend to be very similar to the personalities of their creators. Such characters, who are known under the name of Mary Sue, frequently become an object of harsh criticism on the readers’ part. The paper presents various forms of so strong a negative reaction and describes its possible causes, basing on the analysis of a discourse created by the users of Mirriel Literary Forum (a message board which attracts people who are interested in amateurs’ literary pieces). The main goal of the paper is to demonstrate how the information obtained in discourse analysis may shed new light on the rules which govern the lives of all kinds of fan communities – most importantly, the rule of staying faithful to the object of one’s passion, that is, to the worlds created by professional authors. Apart from that, the paper demonstrates a concise discussion of the strong and weak points of the method employed.

    Les caricatures de concierges, portiers et domestiques auxiliaires des portes et du passage dans les lieux publics de l ’immeuble, ou privés de l'appartement, sont nombreuses au XIXe siècle, en dessin et en littérature. En effet le concierge ou portier est alors un phénomène moderne, et sa situation sociale, de même que celle de son local, est située dans l'entre-deux. Sa fonction de contrôle se heurte dès lors à la fois aux pressions du propriétaire de l'immeuble et à la résistance de ses locataires. Le portier ou concierge occupe donc une place spéciale dans la représentation caricaturale du XIXe siècle. Entre servilité et volonté de surpuissance, il fait l ’objet de nombreux tiraillements. Alors qu'il est écartelé socialement entre locataire et propriétaire, ses représentations caricaturales s'étirent entre animal et dieu.
    There are numerous caricatures of male concierges or doormen in the nineteenth-century texts and drawings. They constitute a very modern phenomenon, as new building layouts of the time, or new buildings in general, almost always included a lodge. Their role of controlling the whereabouts of people getting in and out of the building was subject to the contradictory pressures from landlords and tenants alike. We will try to demonstrate how the doormen and concierges belonged to the in-between places in the nineteenth-century French caricature, with their social position stretched between their landlords and tenants, a function that allowed them to combine servility and an excessive show of strength, and resulted in their depictions ranging from animals to gods.
