    Introduction. Isolated common iliac artery aneurysms (CIAs) are rare. The rarer are rupture of the common iliac artery. We can treat them surgically: classic or endovascular. Open surgery has a main role in the management of aneurysms not suitable for repair by endovascular techniques. Aim. The aim of the study is to present the possibility of occurrence of such a disease at a young age, to indicate non-characteristic symptoms that may predict the above-mentioned disease entity at the level of a primary care physician or SOR. Review of medical publications from 2000-2019 regarding guidelines or methods of conduct in that cases. Description of the case. A patient 39 years old, admitted to the Department of Vascular Surgery, in an interview: about 15 years ago severely beaten, as a result of injuries total loss of hearing, memory and basic skills such as: speech, writing, reading, hospitalized over 6 months. Conclusion. Good rehabilitation and patient persistence restored cognitive skills. Advances in surgical has lowered the mortality and morbidity rates even in patients.

    Opis:
    Aortic dissection is a life-threatening condition, in which rupture of the internal wall of the aorta is observed. The aim of the study was to present the techniques used in patients with type A Stanford aortic dissection treatment by means of carotid-carotid by-pass surgery and implantation of the aortic stent-graft with intentional occlusion of the left common carotid and subclavian arteries. Surgical methods were presented on the basis of three patients treated at the Department of Vascular, General and Oncological Surgery, Memorial Copernicus Hospital in Łódź. Different carotid- carotid bypass grafting techniques were also described. Our own clinical observations demonstrated that patients with retro-pharyngeal carotid-carotid bypass did not report dysphagia, and retropharyngeal grafting seems to be the optimal method considering patients in whom stent-grafts cause left carotid artery occlusion.

    A 50-year-old patient after implantation of a Jotec stent graft in the abdominal aorta in 2014, under the constant care of the Outpatient Clinic of Vascular Diseases, Regional Specialised Hospital No. 4 in Bytom, with a stent inserted into the abdominal aorta in 2014, reported to the ward with suspicion of a type IIIA leak. The presence of the leak was confirmed by angio-CT scan. On the basis of the scan the patient was qualified for implantation of the Nellix system into the Jotec stent and was operated on 19th October 2017. The procedure was carried out without any complications. The check-up angio-scan showed no leak whatsoever. Another angio-CT scan was performed a month later and showed no evident leak with the Nellix system stents placed correctly. At present the patient remains at home in good general condition. The date of another check-up including an ultrasound scan has been set.
    Chory 50-letni, po implantacji stentgraftu Jotec do aorty brzusznej w 2014 r., pozostający pod stałą opieką Poradni Chorób Naczyń Wojewódzkiego Szpitala Specjalistycznego nr 4 w Bytomiu, zgłosił się na oddział z podejrzeniem przecieku typu IIIA. Obecność przecieku potwierdzono w badaniu angio-TK. Na podstawie wykonanych badań chorego zakwalifikowano do implantacji systemu Nellix do stentgraftu Jotec. Operowany 19.10.2017 r. Przebieg operacji bez powikłań, po implantacji w kontrolnej aortografii bez cech przecieku. W kontrolnym angio-TK miesiąc po leczeniu operacyjnym nie uwidoczniono przecieku, stenty systemu Nellix prawidłowo ułożone. Aktualnie pacjent przebywa w warunkach domowych, w stanie ogólnym dobrym. Ustalono termin kontroli, w tym ultrasonograficznej.

    CFD technique was used to determine the effect of a stent-graft spatial configuration and hematocrit value on blood flow hemodynamic and the risk of a stent-graft occlusion. Spatial configurations of an endovascular prosthesis placed in Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) for numerical simulations were developed on the basis of AngioCT data for 10 patients. The results of calculations showed that narrows or angular bends in the prosthesis as well as increased hematocrit affects blood flow reducing velocity and WSS which might result in thrombus development.

    Czynnikami zwiększającymi ryzyko powstania zakrzepu u pacjentów po zabiegu wszczepienia stent-graftu są przestrzenna konfiguracja, zagięcie kątowe lub przewężenia odnogi protezy. W pracy zastosowano model 3D przepływu krwi w protezach wewnątrznaczyniowych u 10 pacjentów po operacji wstawienia stent-graftu do oceny hemodynamiki przepływającej krwi. Wyniki obliczeń wskazują, że występowanie zagięć kątowych lub przewężeń odnogi protezy powodują zmiany hemodynamiki przepływu, które mogą prowadzić do zwiększonego ryzyka powstawania zakrzepu.
    The methane fermentation process has long been used as a method of organic matter utilization and biogas production. In this work a polyimide membrane was used with success to enhance the methane content in biogas from the Polish agricultural plant. At 68% CH4 in feed gas, 82% methane content was achieved. Biogas with methane content over 70% is very promising as an alternative energy source and it can be the feed in a cogeneration generator.
