The aim of the article to assess the functioning of the NewConnect market over 10 years from the organizer’s and participants’ perspective. This helps to diagnose the most important organizational advantages and problems of the Polish MTF, determine further development prospects and propose potential changes to neutralize the negative factors. To illustrate the problem, a comprehensive analysis will be made of aggregated statistical data from 2007–2017, which show the changes and trends on this market, and additionally include the data comparing the current state of the NewConnect market with other alternative markets organized by European stock exchanges. The conducted research does not allow to view the NewConnect market as an organizational success. The analysis identified a number of problems in the functioning of the Polish MTF, ranging from the inappropriate organization of the primary market, resulting in the admittance of too high a number of issuers of dubious credibility, to the consequences appearing on the secondary shares market. It does not give unambiguous grounds to expect positive prospects for the market development in the future. In order to stop unfavorable trends and to improve the issuers’ quality, a discussion on the regulations regarding issuers’ admission, i.e. the size of the minimum equity, IPO, capitalization and the issue price of the debuting company, should be initiated.

Opis:
In the most recent years, the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (VINACOMIN) has been dynamically developing mechanization technologies in underground coal mines. The climatic conditions of Vietnam, as well as increasing the depth of the coal seams and the production capacity, contribute to an air temperature increasing in mining excavations. The article presents statistical equations enabling air temperature forecasting at the outlet of mechanized longwall workings. The results of numerical calculations, obtained from the solutions of the adopted mathematical descriptions, were compared with the measurement results and the statistical significance of the obtained deviations was determined. The performed analysis allowed to assess the practical usefulness of the adopted model for the air temperature forecasting in the workings of mechanized underground mines in Vietnam. The presented method can be used as a tool for mining services in the fight against the climate threat in underground excavations.

The paper focuses on latent class models and it's application for quantitative data. Latent class modeling is one of a multivariate analysis techniques of the contingency table and can be viewed as a special case of model-based clustering, for multivariate discrete data. It is assumed that each observation comes from one of a number of subpopulations, with its own probability distribution. We used latent class analysis for grouping and detecting inhomogeneities of Polish opinions on role of women in polish society. We analyzed data collected as part of the Polish General Social Survey (GSS) using poLCA package of R.

The problem of imperfect knowledge became crucial issue for many applications including economic applications. Rough set theory, proposed by Z. Pawlak (1982) is one of the existing approaches to understanding and manipulation of imperfect knowledge. This theory has attracted many researchers and practitioners all over the world, who contributed essentially to its numerous developments and applications. The aim of this chapter is to present preliminaries of rough set theory (including information systems and decision tables, indiscernibility, lower and upper approximations of sets, reducts, patterns) and application of rough set methods to the construction industry data analysis with respect to the economic conditions. We present some methods based on rough set approach for solution of the following problems related to the analysis of such data: - Extracting dependencies between queries in questionnaires. - Searching for relationships between respondent answers and classification. - Extraction of (minimal) relevant subsets of queries predicting with high quality answers for other questions. Characterization of respondent situation changes in the consecutive year quarters. We discuss the results of Computer experiments including also visual representation of the received results.

Nowadays, in statistical analysis is the demand of methods which allows for understanding ongoing economic and social changes. One way of the corresponding description of analyzed phenomena is to consider their spatial location, what leads to an analysis of spatial data. Design of experiments is a tool of statistical quality control, which is used in practice of manufacturing companies. Methods of design of experiments are used to improve the results of the production process and have an influence on his economic aspect. The spatial analysis of data, such as the development of industry or the unemployment rate, leads to identifying areas of high and low level of economic development. The aim of this paper is to consider the problem of spatial differences of wages in Poland. For this purpose, in the analysis of spatial data, will be used the design of experiments methods.

The analysis of field lifetime data is much more complicated than the analysis of the results of reliability laboratory tests. In the paper we present an overview of the most important problems of the statistical analysis of field lifetime data, and present their solutions known from literature. When the input information is partial or imprecise, we propose to use interval arithmetics for the calculation of bounds on reliability characteristics of interest. When this information can be described in a more informative fuzzy form, we can generalize our interval-valued results to their fuzzy equivalents.

The great motorway research and construction investments have brought and are still bringing a huge set of new data. In 2019 alone, one million new archaeological artefacts were sourced. Therefore, there is a problem of systematic and comprehensive development of the obtained sources, in which statistics may be helpful. The article introduces selected statistical methods and shows examples of their use. It focuses on their usefulness in archaeological research, and thus it may become a boost for their wider use in the development of archaeological sources.

Statistical analysis is a crucial step in all experimental studies, including sport sciences, because inappropriate analysis can lead to erroneous assumptions of performed experiments. Statistical analyses of the training-related data are required to make the training process more efficient. The analyses of various parameters are performed in repeated cycles, requiring appropriate statistical tests. STATISTICA software (version 10) offers a Friedman test for non-parametric analyses of more than 2 groups of repeated measures (which often takes place). Unfortunately, there is no post hoc test to verify which groups decide of the statistical significance of the results. The solution to this problem may lie in the normalization of the data with one of the most popular logarithmic transformations. It allows performing multiple comparisons for the 1-way ANOVA with repeated measures, as well as appropriate post hoc test to precisely determine which group of data is responsible for the statistical significance of the differences.

World civil aviation is an open-source system that is affected by a large number of related and non-related factors. Aviation safety is one of the prioritized directions in the industry. Its managerial decision-making process is primarily based on a versatile analysis of security data in which the choice of the appropriate mathematical apparatus is fundamental. This article suggests applying fractal-statistical analysis to evaluate the aviation safety management system in terms of determining the random distribution of quantitative dynamics of aircraft crashes with lethal consequences in the period from 1946 to 2017. This allows us to verify the adequacy of probabilistic approaches appliance in analysing the dynamics of aviation disasters. The results of research carried out on the basis of the Hurst exponent have allowed us to conclude that the dynamics of aviation disasters is characterized by the effect of "spatial memory". In other words, these are "hidden laws", for which further investigation can become an effective tool for the development of proactive methods in managing aviation safety.

Economic poverty is one of the more common and complex problems in the modern world, as well as in Poland. This is a complex and multidimensional phenomenon, and therefore there is no single universally valid definition of poverty. This article presents a statistical analysis of economic poverty in Poland based on real data from the Central Statistical Office of Poland. An in-depth statistical analysis of the social situation of Poles will be presented, as well as an attempt to examine interdependencies in the occurrence of various forms of poverty and social exclusion in Poland. In the article, several multivariate statistical methods are presented together with the graphical presentation of results. We present a correspondence analysis with a perception map, as well as the advanced modern visualizing tool for categorical data. All the calculations were conducted using R software.

The paper presents basics of the eye tracking methodology and results of preliminary test on multi-purpose marine ship’s navigation bridge simulator. The use of the eye-tracker on the navigation bridge makes it possible to objectively measure the ergonomics of the individual interfaces, as well as to evaluate the decision-making process itself, including the mental workload and stress. In the experiment, officers were faced with an unexpected and sudden situation leading to a collision. The simulated situation required the officer to act immediately and resolutely, taking into account all his/her knowledge about the ship, and interpreting the available data correctly. Outcome of this test was compared with gaze data and it was proved that experienced group with best results suffered lowest level of mental workload and was most efficient In decision making process. Based on those results a possibility of improving simulator training with the use of eye tracking data is discussed.
