Opis:
A new gastropod genus and its type species, namely Ederazyga fanchini gen. et sp. nov., are described from the upper Rhaetian deposits of Lombardy (northern Italy) and tentatively placed into the family Zygopleuridae. The first appearance of Ederazyga is recorded in the lower Carnian deposits of Southern Alps and the stratigraphical distribution of the genus ends almost at the Triassic/Jurassic boundary. Its occurrence in Norian beds of the Nayband Basin (central Iran) suggests an eastward extension of the distribution during that time. Ederazyga is probably one of the Alpine gastropod taxa appearing in this area after the formation of the basin. The genus is possibly related to a group of Early Jurassic, medium to large Zygopleura-like species that are well represented in the Sinemurian and Pliensbachian carbonate platform deposits of the Mediterranean region and in the Hettangian to Pliensbachian successions of the European epicontinental shelf. This group shows an apparent species radiation in these areas testifying to the gastropod recovery following the Late Triassic decline in biodiversity. Ederazyga fanchini is shown to be congeneric with Cerithium? lateplicatum Klipstein, 1843, which is the type species of Camponaxis Bandel, 1995. The definition and diagnosis of Camponaxis was based on specimens that are clearly different, at generic and higher taxonomic levels, from the holotype of C.? lateplicatum. They belong to a distinct species here named Camponaxis bandeli sp. nov. Several species have been subsequently ascribed to Camponaxis following its original diagnosis. Therefore, we invoke ICZN Art. 70.3.2 in order to preserve the unambiguous identity of the genus and to ensure its nomenclatural stability. Camponaxis bandeli is fixed as the new type species for Camponaxis and C.? lateplicatum is here assigned to Ederazyga.

A set of 28 ammonite biohorizons or faunal assemblages is proposed for the Sinemurian, the Pliensbachian and the lowermost Toarcian of the Brescian Prealps, in part based on the published data of the authors of this contribution and partly on new results, derived both from recent field investigations and from the study of the historical collection of Lower Jurassic ammonites preserved in the Museum of Natural Sciences of Brescia (Northern Italy). The biohorizons are present in the Liassic carbonate succession of the Brescian Prealps, cropping out between the eastern surroundings of Brescia (Botticino), to the east, and Lake Iseo, to the west. Since the Hettangian this region was subjected to Jurassic rifting. The area of study was located on the eastern border of the wide Lombardian Basin, a part of the southern continental passive margin of Tethys. An articulated fault-system, trending from Brescia to the North, separated the western subsiding area of the Val Trompia-Sebino Basin from the eastern Botticino structural high. After the drowning of the Rhetian-Hettangian Corna Platform, the very thick synrift succession of the Medolo Group accumulated in the Val Trompia-Sebino Basin, whereas the coeval reduced sequence of the Rezzato Encrinite and the overlying Botticino Corso Rosso covered the Botticino High, subsequent to the Early Sinemurian. The ammonite biohorizons and assemblages recognised are quite well integrated and correlable with either the NW European standard zonation or the different zonations proposed for the Tethyan Realm.

Opis:
The Peynin catchment (15 km2) is prone to catastrophic floods (June 1957 – Recurrence Interval R.I.>100 yr), June 2000 (R.I.-30 yr) with serious damages to infrastructure and buildings located at the outlet. In this paper, PIT tags tracers and Vensim modelling software are used to better assess the sediment delivery unsteadiness, and more specifically to evaluate the respective role of geomorphological processes on sediment supply during flood event. For the last 20 years, our results highlight a significant variability in sediment delivery from a tributary to another one. According to our studies, we suppose that two torrential tributaries of the Peynin river, the Peyronnelle and Three Arbres subcatchments (<2 km2, representing <15% of the Peynin catchment area) are responsible of 80% of the sediments observed at the outlet of the catchment. Several processes take a part of these sediment transfers, but the efficiency of the sediment cascade in this catchment can be explained by a strong connectivity between sediment erosion area and the main channel of the catchment. Debris and torrential flows triggered during high intensity meteorological event are actually effectively coupled in space and time and guarantee an important sediment supply able to reload the downstream part of the sediment cascade. Recent climate trends, marked by extremes, suggest consequently more damaging events to come, in a context of increasing vulnerable assets.
