Praxeology has accounted for a significant amount factors and information into the field of people’s leadership through scientific and management sections. The terms that constitute the Praxeology language have become universal in the management environment of practitioners and theorists. In the Polish thought devoted to scientific foundations of management, among others, praxeological definition of an organisation by T. Kotarbiński, has become universal. The organisation is an open and operating social system, which consists of people who perform in it specified functions and activities and who by means of carefully selected resources and methods are able to perform assigned tasks. Organisations are characterized by a specific structure in which hierarchical arrangement and structure can be separated. Therefore, is there in a such hierarchical organization leadership, management or command?

In the article, the likely directions of cooperation between economists and sociologists are explored. Such an endeavour requires a thorough discussion concerning ontological and epistemological issues. Establishing such cooperation is not an easy task, yet it is feasible, provided that the common part of the social system and the society, that is people playing various economic, social and political roles, is the subject of interest for scholars associated with the both fields. Furthermore, investigating the problems that have not yet been tackled by either economics or sociology seems to be another direction for future interdisciplinary research.

The article describes changes in social awareness concerning social system, in particular the sphere of work. In theoretical dimension, the article refers to concept of social system and the perception of normative models: social, political, and economic. The empirical part presents the results of research into the field of social awareness, especially the awareness of members of a generation functioning in a liberal-democratic social system. The respondents were young residents of Warsaw with higher education. The research was carried out with a few-year time interval. The sphere of work is treated here as a key element of the wider social reality and included empirically through the individual orientation of the respondents in the normative models of society. In the light of research the sphere of work is clearly specific. In particular, the labour market regulations differs significantly from the reception of the remaining components of the social system.

Immanuel Wallerstein’s centre-periphery model lies at the root of many archaeological studies, particularly studies of romanisation. One of them has been an article written by Peter S. Wells, but we have also studies done by Richard Higley concerning Roman Britain, Susan Frankenstein and Michael Rowland concerning the social hierarchy in Roman Germany. Actually several archaeologists tried to study these topic according to the Wallerstein’s world-systems theory. We can observe that the application of the theory into archaeology has always very important heuristic value.

Taking as a starting point the concept of 'second society' understood as a system of informal rules organizing social life under real socialism, the author analyzes the processes of systemic transformation from the point of view their outcomes for civil society emergence. The first part of the article is devoted to the reconstruction of informal institutional structures which seem characteristic for the 'second society'. The second part deals with most crucial aspects for the formation of civil society as a system. These are processes undergoing in the sphere of economic interests, their political representations and in the sphere of symbolic representations. The society is a complex formation consisting of relations, impacts and roles. The need of satisfying the needs was embedded into the society as a mechanism providing the coherence. The democracy acting on the basis of the abstract rule of equality before the law, requires the usage of different mechanisms which guarantee the continuity of the law system. As the bureaucracy became a part of the social organism functioning within the capitalistic and democratic conditions, it enabled the change of the community actions into rational and regular ones.

The analysis and evaluation of the system of the Open Pension Fund and Universal Pension Fund, i.e. OFE/PTE, conducted in 2012 and 2013, led to the conclusion that the pension system reforms of 1997 did not meet their objectives – safety and stability of the social insurance system and its balancing. The basic objective of the reforms – a growth of pensions – as predicted in the justification to the law of 1997, was not achieved either. Further and deeper changes to the pension system have become necessary, and it was set out in the law of 6 December 2013 on the changes of some legal acts related to the rules of payment of pensions from the resources collected in open pension funds. In the model that has been in force since 31 January 2014, the pension system will be still based on the three-pillar system and the private-public legal structure of the second pillar. Open pension funds have not been liquidated, but their competence has been limited.

The notion of the social system in the field of sociology has been meeting the changing level of interest. One may follow the dynamics of the interest while studying the development of the social theory, especially in its functional and neofunctional version. This interest however is not determined only by the intrinsic dynamics of the social thought. It was also directly associated with nonscientific expectations, with the existing social situation. One may thus talk on the social climate of the system or anti-system way of thinking. The climate is to a large extent dependent on the social reaction to a crisis and the answer to the question: whether the solution to the crisis is sought within the frames of the system. In this context the notions of a crisis and a system seem to be clearly associated. The article refers to the social systems theory. The overriding aim of the article is to come up with the answer for the question on the current condition of the social system. Today when the issue of the crisis is so popular may one also talk about the crisis of the social system? The answer may not be unequivocal as the understanding of the crisis and the system in the sociological theory is ambiguous. The viewpoint presented in the article complying with this ambiguity includes also reference to the issue of the situation of the individual in the social system.

The main aim of social system is to reduce poverty and minimizing social problems. The adequate social infrastructure and human resources are necessary to accomplish this goal. One of the most important group among social services are social workers. The quality of their work has strong influence on the effectiveness of the social assistance system. The article presents the results of a survey conducted among 378 social workers from the Podkarpacie Province. The results of empirical research has identified some conditions of the profession of social workers. The article is also an attempt to identify the level of burnout among social workers in Podkarpacie Province.

In the article the author’s own theoretical view, intended to describe the specificity and condition of contemporary society, is presented. The approach discussed in the paper refers to the functionalist tradition in sociology, emphasizing the systemic nature of such social entities as society. At the same time, the conventional premise of functionalism regarding the cohesive nature of social systems is rejected here. Accordingly, the theoretical approach proposed is called social disintegration theory. Six theorems of this theory are introduced and discussed in the paper.
Artykuł prezentuje własną propozycję teoretyczną autora, stanowiącą próbę opisu specyfiki i kondycji współczesnego społeczeństwa. Prezentowane w pracy podejście nawiązuje do tradycji myśli funkcjonalnej w socjologii, akcentując systemiczny charakter takich całości społecznych, jak społeczeństwo. Zarazem konwencjonalna przesłanka funkcjonalizmu dotycząca zbornego charakteru systemów społecznych jest tu odrzucana. W związku z tym, proponowane podejście teoretyczne jest tu nazywane teorią dezintegracji społecznej. W artykule wprowadzonych i omówionych zostało sześć twierdzeń tej teorii.

The aim of the article is to examine the possibility of using the Temporary Innovation System (TIS) structure in the analysed projects in Lebanon, as well as to verify to what extent nature-based solutions (NBS) can be understood through the prism of TIS. The main goal of this article is to highlight the need for introducing a profit in the system of criteria and evaluation of social enterprises. The direct premise for application of social profit in the performance evaluation and development of social enterprises is the taking up and implementation by those entities that integrate specific tasks in referred area of its activities on both the economic and social fronts. This combination of economic goals with social objectives, taking place, albeit in the conduct of any business, in the case of social enterprises have distinctive content, form and terms of implementation. Placed objective of this paper and its implementation is used in its intention to more fully reflect the scientific visions, missions and social conditions for the effective operation of social enterprises pursuing many different goals. The article is divided into three parts. The first part presents the problems of the mission and objectives and organizational forms of social enterprises. The second part included reflections on the essence of social profit and its role in creating social value system of the company. The third part contains an analysis of forms of commercial and social mission of social enterprises.

Since the beginning of 1999 a fundamental reorganization of the social security system was introduced, which has substantially changed the existing mechanisms of its functioning. Within this reform a situation of the main social security performer, The Social Security Institution, had undergone a great changement in executive as well as organizational and legal form. As a consequence of the above mentioned rarely commented on and considered outcomes have appeared and determined further functioning of the Institution. Filling this gap, hereby the author takes upon a subject of the transformation of The Social Security Institution into the state administration body, equipped with legal personality, as well as issues related to the “transfer” of the employees of the state administration into the new unit, and endowment of the newly formed entity with possessions. He also does not leave unmentioned the subject of the liability and legal responsibility for the predecessor. The situation of the Institution as a legal successor of social insurance institutions, operating sine 1950, and as a successor of the further organizational units competent in the matters of pensions and annuities was also discussed. The author analyzes the organizationally and legally transformed institution, and puts a big emphasis on its legal status as a legal personality, introducing a conclusion by mentioning that the Social Security Institution is primarily a state organization unit and only then a legal personality and that its dualistic character can favourably affect the fulfillment of its statutory assigned tasks.
