In the article specificity of the qualitative transformation of the contemporary personal identification practices and strategies in the context of actualization of positive and negative freedom is analyzed. The attempt to reveal ambiguity and discrepancy of the subject’s self-identification process which in modern conditions gets a «plastic» character of active functioning is made. The thesis that phenomenon «freedom» in it actual representations, which actively participating in formation and development of personal identity «plastics», opens in the macro social scale the possibilities of reflective and responsible formation by the individual her or his identity in the structure of diverse social practices is proved.

The Ukrainian state consists of different cultures and identities. Ukraine is now at that stage of development when civil identity is the basis for the consolidation of various ethnic and cultural communities. But for the Ukrainian society, it is also important to develop an ethnic identity, local, regional, European and global. Rational development of identities is a condition for the successful development of Ukraine.
Państwo ukraińskie składa się z różnych kultur i tożsamości. Ukraina znajduje się obecnie na tym etapie rozwoju, kiedy tożsamość cywilna jest podstawą konsolidacji różnych społeczności etnicznych i kulturowych. Dla ukraińskiego społeczeństwa ważne jest jednak także rozwijanie tożsamości etnicznej, lokalnej, regionalnej, europejskiej i globalnej. Racjonalny rozwój tożsamości jest warunkiem pomyślnego rozwoju Ukrainy.
Украинское государство состоит из разных культур и самобытности. В настоящее время Украина находится на этом этапе развития, когда гражданская идентичность является основой для консолидации различных этнических и культурных общин. Однако для украинского общества также важно развивать этническую, местную, региональную, европейскую и глобальную идентичность. Рациональное развитие идентичности является предпосылкой успешного развития Украины.

Goal – the article is devoted to the analysis of corporate social responsibility as a social, economic and legal phenomenon. The article presents the results of a theoretical and empirical sociological study of the features of the influence of organizational strategies of corporate social responsibility on the staff identity formation of companies and organizations in St.-Petersburg and the North‑West region of Russia. Research methodology – the authors argue that the development of ideas related to the need to create their own strategies for corporate social responsibility was significantly influenced by the practices of Western European firms and companies that began active cross‑border cooperation with Russian companies in the late XX – early XXI centuries. Score/results – the results of the study proved that socially responsible actions of Russian or foreign companies help to improve the internal organizational climate, improve the attitude of employees to their company and staff identity formation. Implementation of corporate social responsibility practices also solves complex organizational problems, for example, such as: increasing the level of staff loyalty and reducing staff turnover. Originality/value – the study showed that Russian companies are still lagging behind the West European companies in the field of creating and implementing effective corporate social responsibility strategies. But some examples show that Russian companies are already actively involved in the development of corporate social responsibility of a new, modern type.

The problem of the influence of social identity on the individual's behavior today is extremely urgent. One of the most important aspects of human existence is a question of self-determination, self-identification that is the basis of social interaction. This article is devoted to analyze of the influence of feat of martyrs and confessors on the forming of personal social identity of young people in the modern informational society. It also describes the development of concepts such as identity and social identity.

The security of workers of social services is one of the most important issues determining the quality of services provided by the social assistance and integration system. It belongs to the catalog of basic human needs. Additionally, in the professional sphere, it serves as a regulator of interpersonal relations. It identifies social relationships of the type of social worker – the user (recipient of benefits and services of social assistance and integration). The ethos and identity of the social service belong to the so-called group of invisible instruments. They condition the safety of this professional group. In this regard, they also serve as an analytical tool that refers to the factorial theory of the security of workers of social services.
Bezpieczeństwo pracowników służb społecznych jest jedną z najważniejszych kwestii warunkujących jakość usług systemu pomocy i integracji społecznej, należy bowiem do katalogu podstawowych potrzeb człowieka. W sferze zawodowej pełni również funkcję regulatora relacji interpersonalnych, ponieważ określa relacje społeczne typu pracownik służby społecznej – użytkownik (odbiorca świadczeń i usług systemu pomocy i integracji społecznej). Ethos i tożsamość służby społecznej należą do tzw. grupy niewidzialnych instrumentów warunkujących bezpieczeństwo tej grupy zawodowej. W tych rozważaniach pełnią one dodatkowo rolę narzędzi analizy, która nawiązuje do czynnikowej teorii bezpieczeństwa pracowników służb społecznych.

Sytuacja osób z niepełnosprawnościami ulega zasadniczej przemianie w ostatnich dziesięcioleciach. Przyczyniają się do tego zmiany zachodzące w samym środowisku osób z niepełnosprawnościami, które aktywnie włączają się do walki o swoje prawa oraz upowszechniający się społeczny model definiowania niepełnosprawności. Stwarza to warunki, w których tożsamości osób z niepełnosprawnościami mogą ulec przedefiniowniu. Szczególnie dotyczy to osób podejmujących aktywne działania na rzecz swojego środowiska, których tożsamość jest konstruowana w oparciu o nowe role społeczne i związane z nimi działania, polegające na zaangażowaniu w aktywności mające na celu zmianę położenia osób z niepełnosprawnościami w społeczeństwie. Zasadniczym celem artykułu jest pokazanie, na ile w środowisku osób z niepełnosprawnościami wśród osób aktywnie działających na jego rzecz kształtują się dziś pozytywne tożsamości oparte na afirmacji różnorodności, a na ile wciąż jeszcze postrzegają oni niepełnosprawność jako piętno, powodujące wykluczenie osób z niepełnosprawnościami ze społeczeństwa. Badanie zrealizowano za pomocą wywiadu narracyjnego z osobami aktywnie działającymi na rzecz środowiska osób z niepełnosprawnościami, aby zobaczyć, jakie przyjmują tożsamości.
The situation of people with disabilities has been fundamentally transformed in the last decades. Changes in the environment of people with disabilities contribute to this. People with disabilities are actively involved in fighting for their rights. This is also due to the widespread social model of defining disability. This creates conditions in which the identity of persons with disabilities may be redefined. This is particularly true for those who are actively involved in the development of people with disabilities. Their identity is constructed on the basis of new social roles that involve engaging in activities aimed at changing the position of persons with disabilities in society. The main aim of the article is to show how active people working for the environment of people with disabilities develop positive identities based on the affirmation of diversity, and to what extent they still perceive disability as a stigma, causing the exclusion of persons with disabilities from society. The study was based on narrative interviews with people actively working for the environment of people with disabilities to see what their identity orientation is.

For many people, not only those with disabilities, the Internet during the Covid-19 epidemic has become a living space in which they can fulfil their social needs throughout the obligatory social isolation. Previous studies show that social networking sites have great potential to build and strengthen social relations, creating a space that allows people with disabilities to participate in the debate on topics that are important to this social category and to fight for their rights. They also stimulate the formation of a sense of community, which builds a unique bond and solidarity among people with disabilities. In this sense, they constitute an important space that is conducive to shaping their identity. The main goal of the article is to show the relationship between the use of social media and the elements that constitute the identity of people with disabilities and to show the social activities and roles assumed in the Internet space. Three hundred and forty-six people, who followed Facebook’s groups for people with disabilities participated in the online survey.
Dla ludzi, nie tylko osób z niepełnosprawnościami, sieć internetowa w dobie epidemii Covid-19 stanowi przestrzeń życiową, w której mogą realizować swoje potrzeby społeczne w czasie obowiązkowej izolacji społecznej. Dotychczasowe badania pokazują, że portale społecznościowe mają ogromny potencjał w zakresie budowania i wzmacniania relacji społecznych, tworzą przestrzeń umożliwiającą osobom z niepełnosprawnościami udział w debacie na tematy ważne dla tej kategorii społecznej oraz walkę o swoje prawa. Stymulują również kształtowanie się poczucia przynależności do społeczności, co buduje swoistą więź i solidarność wśród osób z niepełnosprawnościami. W tym sensie Internet stanowi ważną przestrzeń, sprzyjającą kształtowaniu tożsamości osób z niepełnosprawnościami. Głównym celem artykułu jest ukazanie relacji pomiędzy używaniem mediów społecznościowych a elementami konstytuującymi tożsamości osób z niepełnosprawnościami oraz ukazanie aktywności o charakterze społecznym i przyjmowanych ról w przestrzeni Internetu. W badaniu przeprowadzonym online wzięło udział 346 osób aktywnych na profilach dla osób z niepełnosprawnościami.

The subject of the article is the experience of social exclusion present in five contemporary novels on childhood and adolescence spent in the Swedish folkhem, by Jonas Gardell, Lena Andersson, Mikael Niemi, Torbjörn Flygt and Susanna Alakoski. In the first part of the article I am discussing social exclusion as a term used in the debate about the Swedish welfare-state in crisis. The second part is an analysis of the literary texts, using a sociological perspective. I am focusing there on portraits of the children that are main characters in the novels, the children whose personal identity is being shaped in the shadow of the collective dream of a perfect society. Asking a question about the specifically Swedish character of those children’s sense of exclusion, I am referring to the words of the social democratic leader Per Albin Hansson, who in his speech of 1928, presented a vision of Sweden as a happy and fair common home (folkhem), in which there is no place for either favored citizens (“darlings”), or for second-class citizens (“stepchildren”).

Niepełnosprawność jest terminem opisującym nie tylko pewien stan rzeczy, lecz jest także pojęciem, w którego rozumienie wbudowane są wartości i oceny, ukryte postulaty, zakamuflowane etykietowanie. Innymi słowy, pojęcie, o którym mowa, jest uwikłane w świat sensów i znaczeń ze swej istoty wieloznacznych, nieprecyzyjnych i zmiennych w zależności od czasu i okoliczności. Przyjmując takie założenie, celem, który przyświecał nam podczas tworzenia niniejszej publikacji, było zrekonstruowanie jednostkowego i społecznego rozumienia oraz postrzegania niepełnosprawności. Z tego względu w numerze znalazły się artykuły poświęcone takim zagadnieniom, jak: niepełnosprawność jako konstrukt społeczny, proces rekonstruowania tożsamości, przemiany ról społecznych czy style życia oraz aktywności osób niepełnosprawnych w różnych sferach i kontekstach.
Disability is not just a term describing a certain state of affairs but also a notion, the understanding of which incorporates values and evaluations, hidden postulates, camouflaged labeling. In other words, the said notion is entangled in the world of senses and meanings that are polysemic, imprecise, and changeable regarding time and circumstances. Bearing this in mind, our goal while developing this publication was to reconstruct the individual and social understanding and perception of disability. Therefore, the issue includes articles devoted to such notions as: disability as a social construct, a process of reconstructing identity, transformation of social roles or the lifestyles, and activities undertaken by the disabled in various spheres and contexts.

Turner’s Three-Process Theory of Power together with Social Identity Theory (SIT) and Self-Categorization Theory (SCT) have been influential in social psychology to examine power-related behaviors. While positivist experimental and survey methods are common in social psychological studies, these approaches may not adequately consider Turner’s constructs due to a comparative lack of ecological validity. Drawing on a methodology-focused review of the existing research of applying aspects of Turner’s theory of power and SIT/SCT, the interpretivist case study approach by using interviews and other data collections is highlighted as an alternative and useful method to the application of Turner’s framework. The applicability of the interpretive case study approach is further emphasized in comparison with the positivist experiments and surveys. This paper also discusses how this new way of exploration may allow us to understand Turner’s work better.

Since 1989 Polish youth, as well as all Polish society, experience dynamic changes of economic, cultural and social environment. These changes affect process of generation change and make generation observations quite interesting. The article is composed of several impressions on contemporary Polish young generation group, which I call European searchers. The reader will find characteristics of some features of generation situation in Poland, the influence of the specific socialisation actions between parents and their growing up children, some remarks on the impact of technological revolution and comparison to Generation Y. The last part of the article is devoted to sociological analysis of the sense of generation identity of European Searchers. Analysis, based on the several years of empirical studies leads to conclusions portraying both, the attitudes and appraisals of contemporary young generation and reality of youth environment and culture at the beginning of the new century.

Od początku społeczeństwo przekazywało swoje uprawnienia rodzicom do wychowywania dzieci w celu ukształtowanie przez nich w swoich podopiecznych odpowiednich postaw. Wychowywanie dziecka w pierwotnej komórce społecznej do końca ubiegłego stulecia zazwyczaj przebiegało w bezpośrednim kontakcie dziecka z jego rodzicem. Od pewnego czasu kiedy media wkroczyły w coraz większy obszar życia nie tylko dorosłego człowieka, ale także młodocianej jednostki, proces ten został zachwiany. Wpłynęło to na kształtowanie się tożsamości społecznej dziecka. Niniejszy artykuł skupił się wokół tego zagadnienia próbując pokazać m.in. jak na przestrzeni ostatnich lat, na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań, odnośnie korzystania przez dziecko z mediów, zmienia się tożsamość społeczna młodocianej jednostki.
From the very beginning, the society handed over its rights to parents to raise children in order for them to shape appropriate attitudes in their charges. Raising a child in the primary social unit until the end of the last century usually took place in direct contact between the child and his parent. For some time now, when the media entered an increasingly larger area of life not only of an adult, but also of a young individual, this process has been disturbed. This influenced the formation of the child's social identity. This article focused on this issue, trying to show, inter alia, As in recent years, on the basis of research, the social identity of an adolescent individual is changing with regard to the use of media by a child.

The aim of this paper is to explore the social networks of the young generation of Lithuanian minority and the role of social networks in educational migration patterns, both domestic migration and migration to Lithuania. The author discusses the socio-economic and demographic background of the Lithuanian community in Poland, and explains how the migration changes the identification and practices of migrants, with particular attention given to the adaptation process.

This paper, based on an empirical research project, offers information on students of Polish descent from Kazakhstan who study in Poland. The article begins with the introduction of the legal framework related to international students and their scholarship schemes. In the next sections the author discusses various issues related to students of Polish descent, including their motivation for arriving to Poland, obstacles they encounter and their identity problems.

Opis:
Identity based on subjective indicators and presented as self-identification is formed in social and cultural communication in which an individual assimilates values and lifestyles encoded in texts of culture (verbal and non-verbal). Identity is a part of the communication process, both intergenerational and current intragenerational communication. „Self-awareness” is an answer to messages coming from the Others. The author, referring to a semiotic concept by Jurij Łotman, examines identity in the process of communication with HE (YOU) and I, i.e. in two directions of information transmission and with THEY (community, cultural group). Identity understood as a complex text and communicated through texts of culture is formed in processes of social communication and self-communication.
Artykuł podejmuje problem konstruowania/kształtowan/renegocjowania tożsamości jednostkowej w procesach komunikacji społecznej („ONI – JA”), interpersonalnej („JA – ON”) oraz intrapersonalnej („JA – JA”). W wyniku tych trzech typów procesów kształtowania tożsamości w dialogu tworzą się trzy jej składowe, czyli tożsamość substancjalna, relacyjna oraz procesualna.
