The publication focuses on the connection between humans' personal identity and activity on social networks. Facebook and Instagram are a kind of (cyber-communication) sphere in which we are able to communicate with everyone who belongs to these (cyber-)communities. It allows us to publish our photos, memories, current activities, and videos while simultaneously allowing the portal’s other users to observe our life and expression of our Self. In this (cyber-)social space, people are able to create their image and (cyber-)identity in a psychological and social context, encounter a variety of (personal) experiences, but also gain popularity – sometimes at all cost, at the expense of their health and life. The following issues are discussed in the publication: 1. (People's cyber-)identity created on the social networks: Facebook and Instagram. 2. Self-esteem depending on the number of "likes." 3. "Ultimate selfie" - the popularity for which you pay with your life.
W publikacji skoncentrowano się nad związkiem ludzkiej tożsamości z aktywnością na portalach społecznościowych. Facebook i Instagram to przestrzeń, w której możemy komunikować się z każdym, kto należy do tych społeczności. Pozwala nam na publikowanie własnych zdjęć, wspomnień, bieżących aktywności, filmików przy jednoczesnym przyzwoleniu dla innych użytkowników portalu do obserwowania naszego życia i ekspresji własnego ja. W tej społecznej przestrzeni ludzie kreują swój wizerunek oraz tożsamość w kontekście psychologicznym i społecznym, doświadczają różnorodnych przeżyć, ale także czasem za wszelką cenę zdobywają popularność, kosztem swojego zdrowia i życia. Przedmiotem analiz w publikacji uczyniono następujące zagadnienia: 1. Tożsamość kreowana na portalach społecznościowych Facebook i Instagram. 2. Poczucie własnej wartości uzależnione od liczby „lajków”. 3. „Ostateczne selfie” – popularność, za którą płaci się życiem.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zbadanie, czy forma własności mieszkania jest równie ważną podstawą społecznych identyfikacji jak miejsce zamieszkania. Autor przedstawia wyniki własnych prac badawczych, prowadzonych nad lokatorami Towarzystw Budownictwa Społecznego w Szczecinie. Z prac tych wynika, że formy organizacji własności przestrzeni stają się dla niektórych badanych coraz istotniejszą częścią społecznej tożsamości, ważniejszą niż położenie w przestrzeni miasta czy cechy zamieszkiwanej przestrzeni.
The aim of the article is to examine if the form of ownership is a base of social identifications as important as a space of living. Author presents results of own research, conducted in Szczecin in Social Housing Associations area. The results show that forms of ownership become important part of social identity, even more than location in urban space.

Opis:
The emergence of Poland’s Komitet Obrony Robotników, KOR, is a challenge for social movement research whose concepts were mainly developed studying movements in Western democratic countries. The currently dominating structuralist rationalist approach tends to reduce protests to a strategic reaction to favourable opportunity structures. Although this approach offers an adequate evolutionary explanation for KOR’s success, it does not offer a convincing causal explanation for its emergence and the mobilization of activists. This article develops an alternative explanation, using concepts from theories of collective identity, american pragmatism, Émile Durkheim, and Max Weber.

Fundamentalne pytanie opowieści brzmi: „Kim jesteś?” Te słowa nie tyle budzą lęk, co zmuszają czytelnika do refleksji, która ma ścisły związek z kontekstem filozoficznym, socjologicznym oraz tzw. pytaniami egzystencjalnymi. Artykuł jest zatem propozycją lektury pod kątem poszukiwania własnej tożsamości przez dziewczynkę w baśniowym świecie. Rozpatrywana w tych kategoriach powieść Carrolla staje się jedną z najważniejszych książek na świecie, które poruszają tę kwestię.
A "strange tale" written by an English mathematician has inspired creators of literature and art for years. The fundamental question posed by the story is: "Who are you?" These words do not so much evoke anxiety as force the reader to philosophical and sociological and existentual reflection. From this point of view, Carroll's story constitutes one of the most important books in the world dealing with these issues. This article proposes that the book should be read as a search for our own identity, in the shape of a little girl lost in a fairy-tale world.

The author considers the situation prevailing in post-conflict societies, basing her reflections on the assumption that a key element of the peace process should be the formation (even if incomplete) of a model of group identity. As an example, she references the ethnic identities of the two main actors in the Northern Ireland conflict: the Irish Catholics and the Ulster Protestants. The decades of conflict in Ulster caused the emergence of an ethnic group identity that was defined as being “war-related,” and was oriented toward confrontation with the “enemy” and defense of the group’s rights. The author analyzes examples of creating common actions, initiated both from below and from the top down (the “shared future” policy), paying attention to the potential changes in ethnic attitudes and identities, in order to verify her assumptions.

Wskazuje na filtrowanie pamięci zbiorowej, usuwanie z niej elementów zakłócających odświętny wizerunek weterana i przez to naruszających utrwaloną tożsamość grupy.
By discussing the history of the center for the Great Patriotic War veterans opened on the Island of Valaam (the Republic of Karelia, Russia) in the early 1950s, the article searches for the roots and reasons for the “social oblivion“ that affected the war wounded veterans, many of them amputees. The author tries to point to the mechanisms that account for the discrepancies between the official myth of the brave and simple soldier, respected and admired by the younger generations, and the grim fate of the crippled war veterans doomed to oblivion. She emphasizes that when it comes to the Great Patriotic War, social oblivion has often “competed” with social remembrance. She also shows what kind of filters have been applied to the Russian collective memory, and how the elements not fitting the official gala image of war veterans have been excluded as they could potentially undermine the shared group identity.

Turner’s Three-Process Theory of Power together with Social Identity Theory (SIT) and Self-Categorization Theory (SCT) have been influential in social psychology to examine power-related behaviors. While positivist experimental and survey methods are common in social psychological studies, these approaches may not adequately consider Turner’s constructs due to a comparative lack of ecological validity. Drawing on a methodology-focused review of the existing research of applying aspects of Turner’s theory of power and SIT/SCT, the interpretivist case study approach by using interviews and other data collections is highlighted as an alternative and useful method to the application of Turner’s framework. The applicability of the interpretive case study approach is further emphasized in comparison with the positivist experiments and surveys. This paper also discusses how this new way of exploration may allow us to understand Turner’s work better.

The Integrated Psychosocial Model of Criminal Social Identity (IPM-CSI) explains the underlying reasons, i.e. risk factors, for the development of criminal social identity (CSI). Empirical research surrounding these risk factors is inconsistent in the measures and procedures used and the risk factors were mostly considered in isolation from one another. The main purpose of the paper was to review existing empirical studies elucidating correlates of CSI incorporated in the IPM-CSI and indicate further direction for research. A search in PubMed, PsychInfo, ERIC, Google Scholar, and the journal Child Development and Adolescent Studies was performed. Eleven studies exploring the correlates of CSI were identified and discussed herein. Studies indicated that there is potential for further expansion of the IPM-CSI to consider the consequences of CSI. Based on the present study results, a set of recommendations are provided for future research.

The article is an attempt to answer the question of how the conditions of ever-changing reality runs the formation of the young man. On the basis of the diagnostic survey conducted in Poland and Ukraine, the analysis of the level of sensitivity and indifference of youth to current social problems. Was based on the opinion of students rank social issues that young people considered most important, and an attempt was made to assess their maturity.
Artykuł jest próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie, jak w warunkach wciąż zmieniającej się rzeczywistości przebiega formowanie się młodego człowieka. Na podstawie sondażu diagnostycznego przeprowadzonego w Polsce i na Ukrainie dokonano analizy poziomu wrażliwości i obojętności młodzieży na aktualne problemy społeczne. Ustalono na podstawie opinii studentów ranking problemów społecznych, które młodzież uznała za najistotniejsze i dokonano próby oceny ich dojrzałości.

Artykuł zawiera, zestawienie statystyczne, analizę materiału empirycznego zebranego podczas badań oraz wnioski.
It is highly important to build the civil society and create an active attitude enga#ging the public activity. Social activity helps individuals to build their own identity. It facilitates self-realization and gives satisfaction.The article contains the analysis of the empirical researches conducted in February 2009 on students of PWSZ in Zamość. The data of research results, analysis and conclusions have been presented. The research shows the areas of students` activity, level of their life satisfaction and relationship between their social engagement and understanding their lives.

This study explores the dynamic, interactive relationship between teacher identity and authenticity. Through an examination of several socio-cultural (social identity, situated learning, and image text) and psycholinguistic (individual differences) second language acquisition theories, a conceptualization of identity is provided. Subsequently, language teacher authenticity is characterized from both a philosophical and pedagogical perspective and connected to the notion of teacher identity. The final section of the paper presents research-based applications that include reflecting critically, redefining personal credibility, discovering one’s personal style, displaying emotion and recognizing diversity to facilitate the positive-broadening quest of aligning one’s identity (i.e., who I am) with authenticity (i.e., what I do).

This article examines sociological, psychological, and suicidological research on the determinants of male suicide to explore the fact that Polish men complete suicide 7.4 times more than women, a frequency twice as high as in the US. This paper is based upon an examination of relevant literature and statistical databases. A keyword search was completed in both Polish and English language databases. Ideals of masculinity and negative social attitudes towards a non-binary view of gender may increase stressors and discourage men in Poland from revealing their problems while seeking support, explaining the high rates of suicide completion among Polish men. Suicide prevention programs must tackle gender conceptualizations and alcohol use patterns as well as increase avenues for male help-seeking behaviors. These changes will require political and religious organizations to confront the weakening of male hegemony as the organizing principle for family and society. This paper explores the increased rate of male suicide in Poland from the perspective of gender.

More and more high functioning pupils with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are finishing school, graduating and entering higher education, but in Poland the exact number of these students is still unknown. For academics, especially outside the field of pedagogy and psychology, it is a major challenge to work with students with such dysfunctions. This can activate the social labelling process and negative stigmatisation on the part of people who do not have the knowledge and ability to interact with people with autistic traits. This, in turn, can contribute to perpetuating the stigmatic identity of non‑neurotypical students. This article is exploratory. Its purpose is to present the complexity of the situation of students with ASD within the exceptional environment of a university.The inspiration was a controversial article published in a newspaper which evoked a media debate on this issue and activated the process of objectification of social representations of non‑neurotypical adults, especially those with autistic traits.

A cultural infrastructure of shared morality is necessary for the success of market eco-nomics. Traditional views maintain that religion is the nurturing source of the morality, which grows in the culture. The Progressive revolution aims to overturn Traditional morality and impose its social justice morality on culture. This article dissects and cri-tiques the multifaceted Progressive revolution in the United States, while contrasting it with the Traditional view. It argues that the ultimate aim of the Progressive revolution is to redefine the human person through identity politics as a collective entity, which es-sentially liquidates the individual, conforms the person to social justice morality, and establishes socialistic economics.

Przedmiotem podjętych w artykule rozważań jest animacja kultury jako możliwa pasja oraz praktyka. Zawarte w nim refleksje odnoszą się zarówno do osobowych, jak i środowiskowych uwarunkowań sprzyjających samorealizacji poprzez twórczość oraz potrzebie rozbudzania twórczości u innych w możliwej pasji istotnej egzystencjalnie, lub poprzez praktykę pedagogiczną. Wskazane w artykule możliwe pola podejmowania aktywności animacyjnej w środowisku akademickim mogą stać się przyczynkiem inicjowania nowatorskich projektów badań osadzonych w paradygmatach interpretatywnym i partycypacyjnym. O ich wartości stanowić będą usytuowania biograficzne aktorów akademickiego świata życia i ich trajektorie stawania się animatorem kultury oraz nauczycielem, a także trajektorie bycia nim realizując się w pasji i praktyce zarówno pedagogicznej a z pewnością istotnej egzystencjalnie.
The subject of the considerations placed in the article is culture animation as a possible passion and practice. Enclosed reflections concern personal and environmental conditions favouring self-accomplishment through creativity. The need of arousing creativity among others in a possible passion existentially important or through the pedagogy practice. Possible areas of taking decisions of animation activeness in academic surrounding, mentioned in the article, may become an inhibitor of initiating new projects of the research placed in an interpretative and participatory paradigm. Their value is determined by biographical placement of the academic actors and their trajectories of becoming an animator of culture and a teacher. Moreover the trajectories of being an animator by implementing in passion and practice both pedagogy and surely existentially important.
