Smartfony znalazły zastosowanie w różnych dziedzinach życia człowieka. Trend ten powinny podjąć także szkoły jako wyzwanie rzucone im przez świat technologii. W rozwiązaniach mobilnych mogą one upatrywać szansy na efektywny dialog ucznia/studenta ze szkolnym lub uczelnianym ekosystemem i budowanie wizerunku instytucji, które idą z duchem czasu. Dlatego zamiast zakazywać w szkołach używania smartfonów, warto wdrożyć działania zmierzające do ich wykorzystania jako narzędzia edukacyjnego w określonym celu, nie zapominając o tym, iż mogą także uzależniać. Konieczna jest zatem edukacja, abyśmy używali tych urządzeń bardziej rozumnie.
Today, smartphones are used in various areas of human life. Schools should also take up this trend as a challenge posed to them by the world of technology, which can see mobile solutions as an opportunity for effective dialogue between the student and the school or university ecosystem and for building the image of institutions that go with the spirit of the times. Therefore, instead of prohibiting the use of smartphones in schools, it is worth implementing measures aimed at using them as an educational tool for a specific purpose, not forgetting that they may also be addictive. Education is needed so that we can use these devices more wisely.

Social networks are effective and easy-to-use means of communication in the modern age technology. They remarkably influence the young users’ behavior being so entranced in such a virtual world which would easily develop into addiction. In this study we aim to measure the impact of addiction to Facebook on perception and working memory comparing two groups of young people, and how to protect scouting young people against this attachment or addiction. The study was carried out in the national center of scouting of Morocco at Ibn Tofail University on 53 master students with an average age of 24.45 years and 50 young scout leaders of Hassania Marocain scouting, who have an average age of 24.06. The educational level of these young people is between the 1st year of higher studies and the master degree. Digital test of complex Rey-Osterrieth figure and a Facebook addiction test questionnaire were used. The comparison of the means of attachment to Facebook between the two studied groups using T-test showed significant result (t = -2.510; P = .014 <0.05) with scout leaders demonstrated higher average of attachment to Facebook than that detected by master students. The results showed a statistically significant negative correlation between the hours consumed per day on Facebook and the perception and working memory. The perception of young Scout leaders is better than that of master students. We concluded that attachment to social networks influences working memory and perception, while the Scout method would serve as a new remedy for this scourge.

INTRODUCTION: Each year in Europe there are about 350 thousand deaths recorded, following sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). To reduce this number, new methods are being looked for to assist non-medical people in CPR. The objective of this contribution is to compare the efficacy of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and its compliance with the BLS algorithm in persons showing no medical background, using generally available means of support. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The conducted randomized pilot study comprised 50 volunteers with no medical background. The participants were randomized into two test groups. Group 1 – with smartphone applications, Group 2 – no support. RESULTS: The persons making use of mobile application support showed better compliance with the initial steps of the algorithm. Improved chest compression quality was also observed, in particular regarding the cHOT parameter. Statistically, the application users also proved better in evaluating the victim’s breathing. CONCLUSIONS: A smartphone application may be helpful in first aid procedures performed by people with no medical background, mainly for the common use of this type of mobile phones. It is recommended to extend the scope of knowledge of AED defibrillators.
WSTĘP: Każdego roku w Europie dochodzi do około 350 tysięcy zgonów po nieskutecznej resuscytacji krążeniowo-oddechowej (RKO). Dążąc do zmniejszenia liczby zgonów, poszukuje się nowych metod wsparcia osób bez wykształcenia medycznego przy wykonywaniu RKO. Celem pracy jest porównanie skuteczności wykonania resuscytacji krążeniowo-oddechowej oraz zgodności z algorytmem BLS przez osoby bez wykształcenia medycznego, z wykorzystaniem ogólnodostępnych metod wsparcia. MATERIAŁ I METODY: Przeprowadzono pilotażowe, randomizowane badanie, do którego zrekrutowano 50 ochotników bez wykształcenia medycznego. Uczestnicy zostali zrandomizowani do dwóch grup badawczych: Grupa 1 – posiadająca aplikację na smartfone, Grupa 2 – brak wsparcia. WYNIKI: Osoby korzystające ze wsparcia w postaci aplikacji mobilnej wykazywali większą zgodność przy wykonywaniu początkowych kroków algorytmu. Stwierdzono również poprawę parametrów opisujących jakość ucisków klatki piersiowej, szczególnie parametru cHOT. Osoby korzystające z pomocy aplikacji również statystycznie lepiej oceniały oddech poszkodowanego. WNIOSKI: Aplikacja mobilna na smartfona może pomóc w udzieleniu pierwszej pomocy osobom bez wykształcenia medycznego, dzięki dużej popularności telefonów typu smartfon. Zaleca się szerzenie wiedzy na temat defibrylatorów AED.

The article shows the role of digital media in everyday human life and its infl uence on the formation of attitudes and behaviors. Attention was paid to the special role played by the widespread use of modern communication technologies in family relationships. It was emphasized how the relations between parents and children changed as a result of the rapidly growing technique of mobile phones and their latest version in the form of smartphones. Thanks to smartphones, there is possible an universal access to the Internet, which is both asource of information as well as allows to use different instant messengers for communication. This broadly understood access to the digital environment has a very positive meaning in our everyday life, unfortunately it also carries some threats resulting primarily from uncritical use of Internet resources. The article also contains results of the author’s own statistical research on the impact of the Internet on family relationshipscarried out by the author in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine.

The article presents the results of research that pertained to the manner of smartphone use in child upbringing during early childhood. The qualitative research was participated in by: a mother of a two-year-old girl and a mother of a threeyear-old boy. On the basis of the tests I concluded that this device is mainly used by mothers:-to occupy the attention of the child, to allow the mother to perform other activities,-to calm the child down at times of anxiety,-as a reward. The interviews have shown that for the respondents the educational function of smartphone are not significant, although they see them.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the possibility of using smart phone grade GNSS receivers for surveying purposes and to examine their ac curacy in terms of positioning. The paper presents an analysis of the results of test measurements made using two smartphones: a Huawei P8 lite, powered by Android 6.0 and an iPhone 6s, operating on IOS 10.1.1. Both devices were equipped with GPS and GLONASS modules and had the supporting sys tem, A-GPS. Measurements were made on two test parcels of different shapes and sizes. The test procedure encompassed three measurement series (I–III), each of which consisted of five determinations. The determinations were done at 5-min time intervals and each new measuring session began after 90 min from the previous one. Measurements with the Huawei P8 lite were taken using the Locus Map app, and measurements with the iPhone 6s were performed with the use of Map o meter. The study consisted of determining the positioning accuracy of the test smartphones by comparing the results with reference coordinates obtained from RTN measurements using the Topcon HiPer V receiver with Magnet Tools software. Determinations of the reference coordinates were done with the help of the TPI NetPro network real time service corrections.
Celem pracy jest odpowiedź na pytanie o możliwość wykorzystania odbiorników GNSS zainstalowanych w telefonach komórkowych typu smartfon do celów geodezyjnych oraz zbadanie dokładności wyznaczania pozycji. W pracy przeanalizowano wyniki pomiarów testowych wykonanych za pomocą dwóch smartfonów: Huawei P8 lite z systemem Android 6.0 oraz Iphone 6s z systemem IOS 10.1.1. Oba urządzenia wyposażone są w odbiornik GPS i GLONASS oraz system wspomagający A-GPS. Pomiary wykonano na dwóch działkach testowych o różnym kształcie i powierzchni. Procedura testowa obejmowała trzy serie pomiarowe, przy czym każda z nich składała się z pięciu wyznaczeń. Między kolejnymi wyznaczeniami zachowano odstęp czasowy 5 minut, a każda sesja pomiarowa rozpoczynała się po upływie 90 minut. W czasie pomiaru smartfonem Huawei P8 lite skorzystano z aplikacji Locus Map, zaś podczas pomiaru smartfonem Iphone 6s z aplikacji Map o meter. Działki testowe znajdowały się na terenie Lublin przy ulicy Józefa Sowińskiego. Badania polegały na określeniu dokładności wyznaczenia pozycji przez wybrane smartfony na podstawie porównania otrzymanych wyników ze współrzędnymi referencyjnymi uzyskanymi z pomiaru metodą powierzchniową RTN odbiornikiem Topcon Hiper V z oprogramowaniem Magnet Tools. W czasie wyznaczania współrzędnych referencyjnych skorzystano z poprawek serwisu czasu rzeczywistego sieci TPI NETpro.

Today’s children are growing up in a digital age that is far different from that of previous generations. Young children’s use of interactive screen media such as smartphones is increasing rapidly. A variety of mobile devices are all around, but they are still not accessible enough at schools, where the use of smartphones is usually forbidden.The aim of this research was to discover teachers’ opinion about using smartphones in class. The qualitative methodology was used in this study to analyse in depth the contextual factors concerning the use of smartphones during the education process. The analysis was based on data from 32 interviews with primary school teachers. The results of the study have shown that teachers do not incorporate smartphones into the education process, despite their positive attitude towards this kind of mobile devices.

The age of secondary orality, in which the oral and literate ways of thinking collide with each other, influences the communicative styles of today’s youth. One of the visible phenomena related to the language of teenagers is their progressing inability to acquire skills required to use written texts, together with the resulting cognitive and social consequences. In this article, the author discusses the impact of cultural factors on the development of youth literacy. The analyses, based on observations of the linguistic behaviour of lower secondary school students, show that young people are firmly anchored in the current communicative communities immersed in the digital world.

This article describes some of the results obtained from the MICINN EDU 2010–17420 research project. One aspect focuses on the academic use of mobile telephones by Spanish students in 2012. The data collection techniques used for the study were questionnaires, discussion groups and “life histories”. The sample comprised students from five Spanish universities (342 participants). Analysis of the results highlighted the different academic uses of smartphones compared to non-smartphones.

The article discusses philosophical poems by Stanisław Czerniak published in recent years, where a perceivably intensified motif has been the criticism of contem-porary culture more and more dependent on the Internet-based virtual worlds. The accuracy of the said criticism is pointed out, for it reveals the superficial and illusionary character of individual identity built upon those worlds. A lot of space is devoted in the article to the analysis of sophisticated “word plays”, characteristic for Czerniak’s works, imbuing it with a character that remains exceptional, distinctively individual in contemporary Polish poetry.

W pracy omówiono projekt oraz prototyp urządzenia do bezprzewodowej diagnostyki stanu zdrowia starszej osoby. Opracowany system daje możliwość badania tętna, temperatury i pomiaru EKG. Urządzenie komunikuje się bezprzewodowo ze smartfonem, na którym wyświetlane są wyniki. W sytuacji nagłego pogorszenia się zdrowia użytkownika, stosowne informacje wysyłane są do służb medycznych. Zaprezentowany system posiada wbudowany moduł biologicznego sprężenia zwrotnego do ćwiczeń w oparciu o zmiany tętna i temperatury.
The system and the prototype device for wireless diagnostic of an elderly people, is presented. This system to measures pulse, temperature and ECG. The main elements of hardware/software, enabling communication with a smartphone, are described. Proposed system includes also a biofeedback module for exercises, basing on changes of pulse and body temperature.

Nowadays the smartphone is an inalienable attribute of the journalist. Journalists use it as a supplement to professional equipment or as a substitute. It depends on the quality of the smartphone and the scope of the work of the journalist. If a journalist works in print media or online media, he can completely refuse the use of professional techniques, because modern smartphones have good built-in voice recorders and a camera that can help record an interview and make a photo of the hero of the material. For online and radio journalists, the smartphone is usually a complement to professional equipment. Special video and audio applications on smartphones help journalists quickly assemble the material and send it to the editor.Smartphones also allow journalists to broadcast live broadcasts from current affairs and be indispensable during journalistic investigations, where the use of professional techniques is impossible. This paper presents the design, implementation and evaluation of a new smartphone application that is capable of real-time object detection using both stationary and moving cameras for embedded systems, particularly, the Android smartphone platform. A new object detection approach, Optical ORB, is presented which is capable of real-time performance at high definition resolutions on a smartphone. In addition, the developed smartphone application has the ability to connect to a remote server and wirelessly send image frames when moving objects appear in the camera’s field of view; thus, allowing the human operator to only view video frames that are of interest. Evaluation experiments show a capability of achieving real-time performance for high definition (HD) resolution video.
