    This study examines some formulations which raise doubts as they allow themselves to be interpreted in an equivocal mode in the course of learning and teaching of specialist Italian. The classification of the examples is based on the subdivision established by Lepschy on enantiosemy. The description completes the clarifications adapted to the concepts of signification, meaning and comprehension.

    As social change continues, resulting, among others, in a different nature of interpersonal relations or greater access to various stimulants, there is an increase in the number of young people’s behaviours which can be called maladaptive. The question about effective ways of helping young people who manifest symptoms of social maladaptation remains valid. This article is a voice in this discussion and an attempt to present a model of RES -ocialisation focused on solutions, developed in clinical conditions within the space of a specific institution, which is a 24/7 Youth Addiction Treatment Clinic in Toruń. This model draws on the Solution-Focused Approach and falls within the post-modern paradigm of social rehabilitation, using the idea of social construction of opportunities that occurs through and by means of language. It is based on the processes of reification, signification and extrapolation.

    Opis:
    Language in a broad sense becomes imperative for communication to ensue. Language considered as a system of signs and signification is achieved through a process involving sign relations, e.g. semiosis. Charles S. Peirce’s Theory of Signs can provide a basic framework for the elucidation of the intelligibility of signs. Furthermore, the ability for generating sign processes in an organized manner is determined by what Thomas A. Sebeok designates as an organism’s modeling capacity. Modeling capacities range from primitive to complex, thus generating three orders of language corresponding to language as a Primary Modeling System (PMS), a Secondary Modeling System (SMS) and a Tertiary Modeling System (TMS). This Peirce-Sebeok framework for communication, which John Deely places as “postmodern,” is premised upon what he designates as the suprasubjective nature of sign relations and their equally suprasubjective function. Thus, Sebeok’s Modeling Theory together with Peirce’s doctrine on the nature and behavior of signs can be used to direct the generation as well as the interpretation of language systems in accordance with the ultimate norm of communication, that is, to reflect truth as an icon of reality.

    How we perceive a certain concept is grounded in the ‘language game’: the values, prejudices, dispositions, and cultural baggage among its interpretive communities. In other words, there is no ‘true meaning’ inherent in a word per se; rather the meaning is derived out of what Derrida (1993) calls the ‘chain’ of signifi cation: the context, history, contingency, and often semantic contradictions that render a word polysemic. Taking off from here, this paper seeks to unpack the social ‘constructivism’ immanent in the a priori assumptions that cloak the idea of the ‘vagabond’. While invoking the contingency in the genesis and semantic history of ‘vagabond’ as a case study, this paper illustrates how meanings of certain heuristic concepts – in this case, ‘vagabond’, without a fixed referent – are often (re)configured, not because of reasons entirely linguistic, but rather due to changes in the prevailing epistemic paradigms.

    Opis:
    The article explains how ideas, characters and images borrowed from literary works and of fine arts are represented in Liszt’s the piano works of (i.e. with the help of motives, themes and narrative strategies). I. The first level of analysis concerns the typology of basic elements in the new lisztian forms: A. Four types of musical motives or figures and their signifieds (semes). B. Sixteen types of musical themes with their signifieds (classemes). C. Considering the great parts or sections of a piece we discovered seven types with their signifieds (isotopies). II. The second level of analysis consists in the presentation of three types of narrative strategies. The narrative strategy would mean the conscious organization of concatenation of the above mentioned signifying elements. A. The “figurative strategy” refers to the formal variation [‘Formalvariation” in German] of onetheme, or of one “thematic complex” (theme introduced and followed by expressive describing motives or refrain), for example: Sposalizio. B. The “simple narrative strategy” consists in a succession of character variations [‘Charaktervariation’], i.e. variation in the musical genre, in the signified of one musical theme (for example: Vallee d’Obermanri). C. The “complex narrative strategy” describes the structures which combine sonata form, cyclical sonata in four movements and variation form. This strategy implies that a whole thematic complex (exposition) is submitted to different stages of the character variation (for example: Dante sonata, Sonata in B minor, 2nd Ballade in B minor, etc.).

    Artykuł rozwija teorię ekonomii politycznej skupiającej się na pojęciu „pracy publiczności”. Po pierwsze, krótko przedstawia wcześniej podejmowane próby wykorzystania tego pojęcia i proponuje ponowne przemyślenie pracy publiczności jako podstawy teorii ekonomii politycznej. Po drugie, rozwija teorię procesu pracy publiczności, korzystając zarówno z poprzednich teorii czynności publiczności w postaci konsumpcji kultury jako produktywnych czynności oznaczania (signification), jak również dopasowując marksowską koncepcję ludzkiego procesu pracy do procesu pracy publiczności. Po trzecie, naszkicowana zostaje ekonomia polityczna pracy publiczności. Jako teoria podstawowych procesów, przez które kapitał komunikacyjny może kontrolować i wyciągać wartość z pracy publiczności, opisuje ona wyzysk pracy publiczności i akumulację kapitału komunikacyjnego przez stosunki podziału oparte na rencie i procencie. Na koniec omówiona została stała i kluczowa rola wyzysku pracy publiczności w erze cyfrowej.
    This article contributes to a political economic theory centred on the concept of “audience labour”. First, the previous use of the concept of audience labour is briefly traced and the process of rethinking the concept as the basis of a political economic theory is begun. Second, a theory of the audience labour process is developed, drawing on previous theories of audience activities of cultural consumption as productive activities of signification and adapting Marx’s theory of the human labour process to the audience labour process. Third, a political economy of audience labour is outlined. As a theory of the basic processes through which communicative capital can control and extract value from audience labour, it describes the exploitation of audience labour and accumulation of communicative capital through distribution relationships of rent and interest. Finally, the continuing centrality of audience labour exploitation in the digital era is discussed.
