Opis:
Golf is a sport discipline, which require of the player very high precision. The aim of this study was the kinematic analysis of the upper limb during golf swing using the Kinect device and in real conditions. Pilot experimental studies were carried out on the one person, who was obligated to perform swing golf 10 times in every stage of research. Kinematic analysis has shown that the results for both phases were comparable. The greatest mobility during golf swing was observed in the elbow’s joint.

Opis:
Developing tourism and growing number of tourist and other smaller vessels and personal boats require a larger number of berths, outside dedicated ports, and harbours. Vessels can always anchor, but for ecological, and commercial reasons mooring areas with installed mooring buoys are better and more efficient solutions. However, choosing mooring areas, their size, number of buoys, etc. compared to choosing anchorage areas, is a much more complicated procedure, even more so for not having a unified form nor practice. This paper analyses some of the main issues in the selection of mooring sites and fields, focusing on the factors that should be considered in the planning process. As a result of the carried-out analysis some basic recommendations will be given concerning the choice of mooring field shape, swing radius calculation, distance from the shore, nearby vessels, and other obstacles.

Opis:
Worldwide analysis of recent wide area cascading failures has shown that very often their main cause was the mal-operation of the distance protection relay third zone. The load encroachment and power swing phenomena are the two dire problems to solve when dealing with the third zone of distance protection. The vast number of blackouts could have been avoided or the consequences lowered if the distance relay had not operated due to impedance encroachment while there was no risk of further, continuous operation. This paper proposes a way to improve operation of the distance protection relay by introducing a new blocking algorithm that uses the Dynamic Thermal Line Rating (DTLR) to restrain relay from tripping when conditions in electrical power system allow for it.

Opis:
Listing of watershed management goals/targets is one of the integral parts of the management plan for a watershed. In this paper, we have listed 18 watershed management targets for which the Malaysian watersheds could possibly be managed in future. Based on the listed watershed management targets, the priority ranking of 18 targets is developed from the relative importance weights obtained from a survey conducted from 29 stakeholders. Three weighting methods (SWING, SMART, and SMARTER) were applied to elicit weights. We found that the SMART (Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique) weighting method was a favorable method for eliciting stable sets of weights for the watershed management targets. The SWING weighting method produces better weights than the SMARTER method. The listed watershed management targets will assist watershed managers and decision makers in decision making to use available resources (e.g. water quality, land-use, groundwater, and many other resources) in a more efficient and sustainable manner. The efficient utilization of all resources within a watershed will ultimately save watersheds (more specifically the urbanized watersheds) from further deterioration caused by unchecked infrastructure development activities.
Uporządkowana lista celów zarządzania będzie pomocna zarządcom i decydentom w podejmowaniu decyzji o wykorzystaniu dostępnych zasobów (jakość wody, użytkowanie ziemi, wód podziemnych i innych) w sposób bardziej efektywny i zrównoważony. Efektywne użytkowanie wszystkich zasobów zlewni uchroni je (szczególnie zlewnie zurbanizowane) od dalszego pogorszenia jakości wskutek niekontrolowanego rozwoju infrastruktury w przyszłości.

Opis:
This paper proposes a three degrees of freedom parallel anti-swing method by the main and auxiliary cables to address the problems related to underactuated double-pendulum anti-swing for a ship-mounted jib crane. By analysing the dynamic coupling relationship between the swing of the hook and the payload, it seeks to establish an accurate dynamic model of the anti-swing device under the ship’s rolling and pitching conditions, and discusses the influence of ship excitation, the crane state, load posture and anti-swing parameters on the in-plane and out-of-plane swing angles. The analysis shows that the primary pendulum reduces the in-plane angle by 90% and the out-of-plane angle by 80%, the in-plane angle of the secondary pendulum is reduced by 90%, and the out-of-plane angle is reduced by 80%. The reliability of the simulation data is verified through experiments.

Opis:
This paper proposes the usefulness of combining an electromagnetic clutch and brake with a pendulum for antiswing for developing a stabilized wideband pendulum-type gravity direction sensor. The pendulum-type sensor is high in response to direction change but liable to swing even when the change stops, in general. Therefore, anti-swing control without degrading sensitivity of direction measurement is important. Continuous damping of the pendulum motion causes an error in a stationary condition unless the pendulum is free from damping repetitively in an appropriate term. To develop a quick response direction sensor without error, we use a magnetic device. Based on motion analysis of a double pendulum, we simulate behaviours of the pendulum-type sensor by actuating the magnetic device by using different signals in form, frequency and magnitude. Also, we fabricate a motion simulator having two rotation joints to evaluate the anti-swing effect of the magnetic device. In the experiment we demonstrate that the device is beneficial for suppressing pendulum vibration over a wideband for measuring resultant direction of the acceleration compound with motion and gravity on such a platform moving randomly. Also, we show that a triangular signal is better than a sinusoidal signal for making the settling time short; however difference is within a narrow margin.

Opis:
The general framework of this paper is the control design of complex nonlinear systems. The proposed approach is demonstrated with the use of a case study regarding a typical mechatronic system - control design of inverted pendulum on the cart. The methodology used for the solution of this problem is based on two- degree of freedom control structure (2-DOF) with feed-forward and feedback terms. Feed-forward term represents a solution of trajectory generation problem and feedback term stands for a state controller. Both of these parts generally fall into the category of optimal control problems. The article focuses on the design of a finite-horizon linear quadratic controller and its application in 2-DOF structure with the use of customized LQR computation procedure, showing all necessary steps of the design, including source codes. It is proposed that the developed methodology is general and can be adopted for most of other nonlinear mechatronic systems, including unstable or non-minimum phase systems. This has been already tested successfully for models of both double and triple inverted pendulums. The functionality of the concept under real conditions can also be seen in Ozana (2018a) and Ozana (2018b) showing preliminary experiments with real apparatus.

The aim of the study was to assess the differences in plantar pressure distribution and in posture during slow and very slow walking on the treadmill in flat and high-heeled shoes. Methods: The Pedar-X® (Novel, Munich, Germany) measuring insoles were used to measure the plantar pressure distribution and to assess temporal parameters during walking on the treadmill with the speed v1 = 0.97 ms–1 and v2 = 0.56 ms–1 in flat shoes (FS) and HH. For postural measurement, the SonoSens Monitor Analyzer (Gefremed, Chemnitz, Germany) was used. Thirty healthy females who only occasionally wear HH volunteered to participate in the study (age: 21.8 ± 2.09 years, weight: 55.7 ± 4.05 kg, height: 1.66 ± 0.03 m). For statistical analysis the ANOVA, and paired t-test were used. Results: Significant differences in walking in HH were detected in temporal and plantar pressure variables, compared to FS. The walking speed influenced the temporal variables, but not the measured dynamic parameters, in either shoes. In the sagittal plane, significant differences in all sections of the spine were identified for v1 and v2. While walking in HH, lordosis at lumbar spine decreased significantly as well as at cervical spine, and kyphosis increased in the thoracic spine. In HH statistically significant differences between the walking speeds were observed particularly in the thoracic spine. Conclusions: Walking in high heels caused a plantar pressure changes and curvature of the spine, and the slowing of walking speed did not prevent these changes.

Opis:
Power system stability is defined by the tendency of the energy system to develop recovery forces equal or greater than the disturbing forces to maintain a stable equilibrium state. In general, power system stability problems are usually divided into two parts, steady state and transient state. An extension of steady-state stability is dynamic stability. Transient stability deals with the effects of large disturbances such as malfunctions, sudden line interruptions, and sudden application or load removal. This research is presents load angle method to transient stability problem for multi-machine system. The ETAP program is used to simulate the above method to study transient stability. A sub-station plant in Khartoum (GARRI) with four generation sections (1, 2 and 4) has been taken as a case study. The simulation result shows that when a single line-ground fault occurs at main busbar and cleared at time t = 0.4 sec the system is stable, in case 2, when the same fault cleared at t = 3 sec the system become unstable.
