Opis:: W artykule podjęto zagadnienie aksjomatów społecznych i podkreślono wagę ich związku z funkcjonowaniem psychologicznym jednostki. Dotychczas zidentyfikowano pięć uniwersalnych, pankulturowych aksjomatów społecznych, tj.: Cynizm społeczny, Wynagrodzony wysiłek, Złożoność społeczna, Przeznaczenie oraz Religijność, które „są uogólnionymi (zgeneralizowanymi) przekonaniami na temat świata i ludzi, w tym instytucji społecznych, fizycznego środowiska, świata duchowego oraz występujących wydarzeń i zjawisk”. Okazują się być lepszymi predyktorami zachowań niż wartości. Artykuł wskazuje na ważną rolę aksjomatów w sposobie percypowania ludzi i świata oraz określa zagrożenia, jakie mogą być konsekwencją pewnych sposobów myślenia. Międzypokoleniowa i wewnątrzrodzinna transmisja przekonań otwiera dyskusję nad wychowawczą rolą rodzin. Publikacja stanowi przegląd światowych danych o aksjomatach i jego korelatach, narzędziach pomiaru oraz obszarach wartych dalszej eksploracji. Tematyka aksjomatów jest wciąż dość nowa, przeprowadzono nieliczne badania w ich zakresie. Dotychczas nie pojawiła się polska publikacja, która gruntowałaby wiedzę o aksjomatach społecznych w ten sposób. Artykuł otwiera przestrzeń do dyskusji i analiz.
The article touches on the issue of social axioms and underlines the importance of their relationship with the psychological functioning of an individual. So far, there were identified five universal, pancultural social axioms: Social Cynicism, Social Complexity, Reward for Application, Religiosity, and Fate Control, “which are generalised beliefs about the world and people, including social institutions, physical environment, spirituality, and life events.” They turned out to be better predictors of behaviours than values. The articles points to an important role of the axioms in the way of perceiving people and the world and it describes the dangers which may be a consequence of a certain way of thinking. Intergenerational and family transmission of beliefs opens a discussion about the educational role of families. The publication is a review of the data on the axioms and their correlates, measuring techniques, and the areas worth further research. The idea of axioms is still fairly new and the research is not abundant. So far, no Polish publication occurred which would present the knowledge about the axioms in that way. The article sets the stage for future discussions and analysis.

Opis:: An early assessment of the ship airwakes flow characteristic is one of the most challenging tasks associated with the designing of vessels. The presence of ship airwake creates very complex flow phenomena due to the presence of strong velocity gradients in space and time and widely varying high levels of recirculation and turbulence. Under such condition, the landing and take-off operation of a helicopter over the ship helodeck is very complex and accurate prediction represents a computational challenge. We present time-accurate scale-adaptive simulation (SAS) of turbulent flow around a simple frigate ship to gain insight into the flow phenomena over the helodeck. Numerical analysis is carried out after several grids and time-steps refinement to ensure the spatial and temporal accuracy of the numerical data. The instantaneous iso-surface of eddy flow structures and vorticity have been analysed across the vertical and longitudinal plane. Results show good agreement with experimental data. Comparisons of mean quantities and velocity spectra show good agreement, indicating that SAS can resolve the large-scale turbulent structures which can adversely impact ship-helo combined operations. Overall, the SAS approach is shown to capture the unsteady flow features of massively separated ship airwake characteristics with reasonable accuracy.
