Opis:
Nonlinear hydromagnetic flow and heat transfer of a Casson fluid over an exponentially shrinking sheet has been investigated. The fluid is assumed to be viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting. The similarity transformations are applied to reduce the non-linear partial differential equations into the non-linear ordinary differential equations. Homotopy Perturbation Method is used to solve the resulting non-linear differential equations under appropriate boundary conditions. The impact of Casson fluid parameter, magnetic interaction parameter, suction parameter and Prandtl number on both velocity and temperature profiles are shown graphically. Thermal boundary layer thickness decreases with increasing Prandtl number. Effect of Casson fluid parameter is to reduce both the velocity and temperature. Quantities of physical interest such as skin-friction coefficient, non-dimensional rate of heat transfer are solved numerically. A comparison reveals a remarkable agreement between the Homotopy Perturbation Method and Runge-Kutta fourth order method.

Opis:
In this investigation, an epidemic Markov queueing model with alert, infection, vaccination and death has been considered. The main focus of this work is on the vaccination to provide the infection in a population. Healthy person may be affected from some disease that may cause death. The vaccination is the power tool for the prevention of the diseases spreading over the population size. Healthy person become alert when symptoms of the disease can be seen on them and the alert may be injected due to more infection. The provision of vaccination is provided in both alert and infected stages. The transition rates as followed by exponential distribution. A Markov model is developed by using inflow and outflow transition rates of the model. The transient state probabilities are evaluated by solving the transient state equations by using runge kutta method which are further used for calculating the model performances. A numerical illustration is also provided to validate the model.

Opis:
This study describes a very efficient and fast numerical solution method for the non-steady free convection flow with radiation of a viscous fluid between two infinite vertical parallel walls. The method of lines (MOL) is used together with the Runge-Kutta ODE Matlab solver to investigate this problem numerically. The presence of radiation adds more stiffness and numerical complexity to the problem. A complete derivation in dimensionless form of the governing equations for momentum and energy is also included. A constant heat flux condition is applied at the left wall and a transient numerical solution is obtained for different values of the radiation parameter (R). The results are presented for dimensionless velocity, dimensionless temperature and Nusselt number for different values of the Prandtl number (Pr), Grashof number (Gr), and the radiation parameter (R). As expected, the results show that the convection heat transfer is high when the Nusselt number is high and the radiation parameter is low. It is also shown that the solution method used is simple and efficient and could be easily adopted to solve more complex problems.

Opis:
In this present paper, we have discussed the effects of viscous dissipation and thermal radiation on heat transfer over a non-linear stretching sheet through a porous medium. Usual similarity transformations are considered to convert the non-linear partial differential equation of motion and heat transfer into ODE’s. Solutions of motion and heat transfer are obtained by the Runge-Kutta integration scheme with most efficient shooting technique. The graphical results are presented to interpret various physical parameters of interest. It is found that the velocity profile decreases with an increase of the porous parameter asymptotically. The temperature field decreases with an increase in the parametric values of the Prandtl number and thermal radiation while with an increase in parameters of the Eckert number and porous parameter, the temperature field increases in both PST (power law surface temperature) and PHF (power law heat flux) cases. The numerical values of the non-dimensional wall temperature gradient and wall temperature are tabulated and discussed.

Opis:
The Muskingham method uses two formulas to describe the translation of flow surges in a river bed. The continuity formula is the first formula, while the relationship between the reach’s storage, inflow, and outflow is the second formula (the discharge storage formula); these formulas are applied to a portion of the river between two river cross sections. Several methods can be utilized to estimate the model’s parameters. This section contrasts the conventional graphic approach with three numerical methods: Genetic algorithm, Exponential regression, and Classical fourth-order Runge-Kutta. This application’s most noticeable plus point was the need to employ a few hydrological variables, such as intake, output, and duration. The location of the Euphrates entrance to the Iraqi territory in Husaybah city was chosen with its hydrological data during the period (1993-2017) to conduct this study. The goal function is established by accuracy criterion approaches (Sum of squares error and sum of squared deviations). Depending on the simulation findings, the suggested predictive flood routing ideawas highly acceptable with the prospect of adopting the Genetic Expression Programming model as a suitable and more accurate replacement to existing methods such as the Muskingum model and other numerical models, where this method gave results (R2 = 0.9984, SSQ = 1.06, SSSD = 80.75), These results achieved a hydrograph that is largely identical to what was given by the hydrological method called Muskingham.

Opis:
The paper reviews the state of research of wave processes in hydraulic systems of machines, and their impact on the quality and stability of hydraulic drives. As noted in the works of previous researchers, these phenomena occur in hydraulic systems and adversely affect the quality and stability of their work, significantly reducing reliability. The method of construction of mathematical models is offered. A mathematical model of the hydraulic system with two series-connected hydraulic motors is built, taking into account transients. The Runge-KuttaFeldberg method with automatic change of the integration step was used to solve this model. The application of this method makes it possible to estimate the amplitude and frequency of the pressure wave in real time for each part of the pipeline. As a result of the analysis of the obtained transients it was concluded that at the length of the pressure line in a group hydraulic drive with 2 series-connected hydraulic motors up to 1.5 m, wave processes do not significantly affect the system and in the mathematical model they can be ignored. With the length of the pressure line from 1.5 m to 9 m, the wave processes in the cavity do not affect the stability of the system, although significantly impair the quality of its work. Hydraulic systems with a pressure line length of more than 9 m are not recommended for implementation, because the wave processes in the cavity lead to vibrations and noise in the hydraulic system and require additional measures to eliminate the impact of this phenomenon.

Opis:
In this present work, the laminar free convection boundary layer flow of a two-dimensional fluid over the vertical flat plate with a uniform surface temperature has been numerically investigated in detail by the similarity solution method. The velocity and temperature profiles were considered similar to all values and their variations are as a function of distance from the leading edge measured along with the plate. By taking into account this thermal boundary condition, the system of governing partial differential equations is reduced to a system of non-linear ordinary differential equations. The latter was solved numerically using the Runge-Kutta method of the fourth-order, the solution of which was obtained by using the FORTRAN code on a computer. The numerical analysis resulting from this simulation allows us to derive some prescribed values of various material parameters involved in the problem to which several important results were discussed in depth such as velocity, temperature, and rate of heat transfer. The definitive comparison between the two numerical models showed us an excellent agreement concerning the order of precision of the simulation. Finally, we compared our numerical results with a certain model already treated, which is in the specialized literature.

The aim of this article is focused on providing numerical solutions for a Robot arm problem using the Runge-Kutta sixth-order algorithm. The parameters involved in problem of a Robot control have also been discussed through RKsixth-order algorithm. The précised solution of the system of equations representing the arm model of a robot has been compared with the corresponding approximate solutions at different time intervals. Experimental results and comparison show the efficiency of the numerical integration algorithm based on the absolute error between the exact and approximate solutions. The stability polynomial for the test equation ( is a complex Number) using RK-Butcher algorithm obtained by Murugesan et. al. [Murugesan K., Sekar S., Murugesh V., Park J.Y., "Numerical solution of an Industrial Robot arm Control Problem using the RK-Butcher Algorithm", International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology, vol.19, no. 2, 2004, pp. 132-138] is not correct and the stability regions for RK-fourth order (RKAM) and RK-Butcher methods have been presented incorrectly. They have made a mistake in determining the range for real parts of (h is a step size) involved in the test equation for RKAM and RK-Butcher algorithms. In the present paper, a corrective measure has been taken to obtain the stability polynomial for the case of RK-Butcher algorithm, the ranges for the real part of and to present graphically the stability regions of the RKAM and the RK-Butcher methods. The stability polynomial and stability region of RK-Sixth order are also reported. Based on the numerical results it is observed that the error involved in the numerical solution obtained by RK-Sixth order is less in comparison with that obtained by the RK-Fifth order and RK-Fourth order respectively.

Opis:
This paper addresses the numerical solution of optimal control problems for systems described by ordinary differential equations with control constraints. The state equation is discretized by a general explicit Runge-Kutta scheme and the controls are approximated by functions that are piecewise polynomial, but not necessarily continuous. We then propose an approximate gradient projection method that constructs sequences of discrete controls and progressively refines the discretization. Instead of using the exact discrete cost derivative, which usually requires tedious calculations, we use here an approximate derivative of the cost functional denned by discretizing the continuous adjoint equation by the same Runge-Kutta scheme backward and the integral involved by a Newton-Cotes integration rule, both involving maximal order intermediate approximations. The main result is that strong accumulation points in L2, if they exist, of sequences generated by this method satisfy the weak necessary conditions for optimality for the continuous problem. In the unconstrained case and under additional assumptions, we prove strong convergence in L2 and derive an a posteriori error estimate. Finally, numerical examples are given.
