    The purpose of the article is to state the reasons for changing sessions’ places and datesof the General Sejmiki, with particular emphasis on the years 1480-1542. Despite established regulations (including the constitution of April 12, 1521 and the so-called Prussian Constitution of July 17, 1526), this happened repeatedly. What was the reason? First, it will be presented the history of the creation of Royal Prussia and the development of the state assembly system in this Polish province.

    Gottfried Kirch (1639-1710) was an astronomer born in Guben, the maker of calendars and the author of ephemerides. He owed his fame to the discovery of the Great Comet of 1680, and he gained prestige as the first astronomer of the Royal Prussian Society of Sciences. The article summarises the current state of knowledge about Gottfried Kirch and presents his astronomical and calednariographic activity at various stages of his life, via the lens of the stays in Langgrün, Lobbenstein, Leipzig, Coburg, Guben and Berlin (Dorotheenstadt).

    Until recently, honorary plaques were rarely the subject of studies by Polish historians. Only in recent years have studies been published discussing their nature and purpose. Unfortunately, due to their previous neglect, including by local authorities, many of these valuable objects were removed from their original place of exhibition, and some were even destroyed. One such plaque, requiring restoration, is from Reszel, commemorating soldiers from the local Roman Catholic parish who fell in the battles with Napoleon in the years 1813–1815. Before the Second World War this plaque was located outside the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, which could be dated to the refurnishing of its interior in 1822–1843. The table’s inscriptional field contains permanent and temporary elements. The former includes inscriptions with the names of fallen soldiers and their place of their origin. The second includes military ranks, names, places and dates of death, dates of birth, decorations received and others. The correct reading of these inscriptions – often written in the form of abbreviations – as well as their verification led to numerous findings, including those relating to units under whose banners fought soldiers from Reszel parish in individual battles with Napoleon.

    The activity of Christfried Kirch (1694-1740), son of Gottfried Kirch (1639-1710), the first astronomer of the Royal Prussian Society of Sciences, has not yet received much attention in historiography. Christfried Kirch’s astronomy education - beginning with the studies with his father, to the unfulfilled plans of visits to the observatories in England and France - culminated in his acceptance as an observer of the Royal Prussian Society of Sciences on October 8, 1716. The article aims to present the development of Christfried Kirch’s career and his efforts to achieve the position once held by his father in the Society of Sciences in Berlin.

    The article resumes the discussion of the astronomical interests of the Polish Brethren, instigated by Tadeusz Przypkowski. Focusing on the first two decades of the 18th century, it presents their participation in research conducted by Gottfried Kirch and his family. Reconstructed from the journal entries of the first astronomer of the Royal Prussian Society of Sciences, this area of the Socinian activity included various forms of participation in astronomical observations - as spectators, students, assistants or co-observers. The source material left by the Kirch family confirms that the astronomical interests of this community did not expire at the beginning of the 18th century and were maintained by the next generation of Arians.

    Until the beginning of the 18th century in Royal Prussia and the Duchy of Prussia there existed a shared consciousness of belonging to one country. This feeling is also present in the regional historical works. The common country “Preußenland” was founded on the territory of the former Teutonic state. Political changes taking place after the Thirteen Years’ War were not taken into account in this narration. Functioning as part of the Kingdom of Poland guaranteed certain regional freedoms. The characteristic feature of the Prussian historiography was the description of pagan times in a negative way comparing them with the Christian times. The rebellion of the Prussian towns was depicted as the result of the arrogance of the Teutonic Order starting from the times of the rule of Konrad von Wallenrode. The outbreak and development of the Reformation hindered the process of the creation of the rival regional identities. Historiographers did not use the sources to create one general narration, but they entwined various, sometimes contradictory, narratives in their works.

    Throughout its publishing history (1850–1866) the editors of the Nadwiślanin, a weekly published at Chełmno (Kulm) in Royal Prussia, were the target of harassment by the Prussian police, prosecutors and courts. Print runs of the magazine were often seized, the editors taken to court and sentenced to fines and terms of imprisonment.
    W latach 1850–1866 nakładca i redaktorzy odpowiedzialni „Nadwiślanina” wielokrotnie stykali się z działaniami policji pruskiej, prokuratury i sędziów. „Aresztem” obejmowano poszczególne numery pisma, wytaczano procesy prasowe twórcom periodyku, niejednokrotnie skazywano ich na kary finansowe i pobyt w więzieniu.
