Opis:
Purpose: identification of effective mechanisms of organizational adaptation under high uncertainty in light of the assumptions of the complexity theory. Design/methodology/approach: The approach adopted involves literature review, including an interdisciplinary ground of complexity theory. Findings: The content of the article includes the conceptualization of patterns as schemata at the level of an organization, recognition of the relationship between schemata and organizational routines as an area subject to shaping, and identification of the dynamics of routines depending on the degrees of uncertainty. Research limitations/implications: The results of the study are presented in the form of theoretical framework enabling further testing. Originality/value: Conceptualization of the contextual nature of routines depending on the degree of uncertainty as a mechanism of change and stability in the organization.

Linguistic routines are characteristic for human communication. They give the communication partners a certain security. This allows the producer to take the time to structure the content of the following in an appropriate way. They belong to certain rituals: the recipient has the opportunity to adopt a certain attitude towards what is expected before making a statement. The paper starts from a case that is not that frequently used in contemporary German, but salient, namely „Ehrlich gesagt, ... “, and examines the functions of routine formulas in emotional language / in emotional speaking and also which changes they are subject to.

Through some examples, the paper illustrates the lexicographic approach implemented in the Polonium PRAGMALEX project, which aims to provide a pragma-semantic description of conversational formulas in French with their equivalent in Polish and Italian, highlighting their pragmaticvalues. The sociolinguistic or cultural factors that determine their use in the discourse are also made more explicit.

This study aims to enhance bilingual language acquisition in very young children in a Portuguese kindergarten. The promotion of children’s language and cognition is done through access to another language – English – in their daily context by incorporating the language into the children’s routines and school daily activities. We collected data from an immersion teacher training program towards bilingualism use, the development of their assistants’ English language fluency, the parents’ awareness and beliefs about English and children’s language development. The sample includes 140 children, aged 5 months to 6 years, teachers and teaching assistants. Teachers have changed their language beliefs concerning English and the program has influenced their practice. The results showed that children develop communicative skills in both languages when surrounded by a bilingual friendly and emotional environment. They use both languages in their everyday life and have created a positive and emotional relationship with the English.

The study is a comprehensive introduction to the psychological version of the so-called microfoundational approach to routines. It focuses on the problem of how psychological micro-level phenomena and processes of individual actors affect the organisational macro-level of routines. More specifically, the study proposes to explain the sources of macro-level automatic stability and resourceful flexibility of routines by psychological habits and psychological flexibility. The approach presented in the study promises not only the level of detail that has not been present in extant investigations of routines research, but also a new account of the classic problem of the opposition between automaticity and flexibility of routines. Artykuł stanowi wszechstronne wprowadzenie do problematyki tzw. mikropodstaw organizacyjnych działań rutynowych w wersji psychologicznej. Tekst koncentruje się na tym, w jaki sposób psychologiczne zjawiska i procesy na mikropoziomie indywidualnych aktorów organizacyjnych wpływają na makropoziom organizacyjnych działań rutynowych. Artykuł stara się wyjaśnić szczególnie, źródła automatycznej stabilności oraz elastyczności występujących na makropoziomie działań rutynowych poprzez specyfikę nawyków psychologicznych oraz elastyczność psychologiczną. Ujęcie proponowane w tekście nie tylko pozwala osiągnąć taki poziom szczegółowości, który dotychczas nie był obecny w badaniach nad działaniami rutynowymi, lecz także stanowi nowe ujęcie klasycznego problemu opozycji między automatycznością i elastycznością działań rutynowych. Opis:
The paper presents aspects connected with development of a computer system for registration and fusion of multimodal images for orthodontic purposes. The idea of the system, of the multimodal image registration, lies in 3D surfaces registering, reconstructed from the sets of MRI or CT planar slices. The system enables the user to perform registration using different approaches based on localised landmarks, based on selected regions of 3D surfaces or based on automatic matching of the whole surfaces. The rigid-body transformation found during the registration is then used to transform the set of slices to generate images that can be fused. The usage of the system was illustrated and the accuracy of the registration was assessed.

Among Spanish phraseological units as a whole, the conversational routines fill an important space because of their wide number and their usage frequency in the informal register. Although many authors were interested in studying them, there are no studies concerning them in profundity yet. The present study has multiple aims and each of them tightly corresponds to a specific section of this paper: fundamentally, in the first pages we are interested in the definition of the conversational routines and their distinctions from other phraseological units; for this purpose the thoughts of the most important scholars in this fi eld are to be reviewed. In the second part the aim is to make a complete distinction of the structures by checking the characteristics that differentiate them from other phraseological units. In the third part, which is only a starting point for the scholars, as it is for us, who are already widening the purpose in another work, we concentrate on how to construct a dictionary: how to choose the conversational routines and which information about them to offer to the users; how to choose contexts for a better understanding of the structures, etc. The locutions which conform to our proposal, extracted according to exhaustive standards from the phraseological units as a whole, have the words ver and decir as their lexical centre and are placed in the lexicographical articles of the words ver and decir. The Diccionario del Español Actual (DEA) by M. Seco has been used.

The article is an attempt of a theoretical and empirical analysis of the concept of institutionalization of spontaneous actions in the process of internationalization of enterprises. In the article the process of institutionalization of changes is perceived from the processual perspective in management, where everyday actions within routinely repeated practice constitute an important cognitive background of the analysis. International entrepreneurship is described in the literature in both behavioral and situational contexts. Internationalization, in turn, is described in the literature on this subject as a rapid or evolutionary process. Internationalization of the company can be a result of entrepreneurial activities of intuitional and spontaneous nature. The aim of the article is to present the issue of institutionalization of spontaneous changes in the context of internationalization of enterprises from the processual perspective. A comparative case study was carried out which illustrates the thesis that spontaneous actions are an important category of initiating and consolidating changes within the practice which is repeated every day in the process of internationalization.
Artykuł jest próbą teoretycznej i empirycznej analizy koncepcji instytucjonalizacji działań spontanicznych w procesie umiędzynaradawiania przedsiębiorstw. W artykule proces instytucjonalizacji zmian jest postrzegany z perspektywy procesualnej w zarządzaniu, gdzie ważnym tłem poznawczym analizy są codzienne działania w ramach rutynowo odtwarzanej praktyki. Przedsiębiorczość międzynarodowa jest opisywana w literaturze w kontekście behawioralnym i sytuacyjnym. Umiędzynaradawianie jest z kolei opisywane w literaturze przedmiotu jako proces skokowy bądź ewolucyjny. Internacjonalizacja firmy może być wynikiem działań przedsiębiorczych o charakterze intuicyjnym i spontanicznym. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie problematyki instytucjonalizacji zmian spontanicznych w kontekście internacjonalizacji przedsiębiorstw z perspektywy procesualnej. Przeprowadzono porównawcze studium przypadku, które ilustruje tezę, że działania spontaniczne są ważną kategorią inicjowania i utrwalania zmian w ramach codziennie odtwarzanej praktyki w procesie umiędzynaradawiania.

The influence of global lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted the lives of many people. Once performed elsewhere, many activities had to be moved to private spaces of individual homes, influencing how people use their residential space, modifying their living and working conditions. The purpose of this study was to research the changes in the use of residential space through questionnaires addressed to respondents in five age groups (up to 25, 26–35, 36–50, 51–65, and over 65), and living or studying in the Milan area (Lombardy)—an area affected severely by COVID-19 in the period March–May 2020. The obtained questionnaire results allowed the authors to create a set of guidelines for apartment design, intended to improve their spatial performance. The observations made when creating the case study projects led to two main conclusions: First, at the level of the house plan, the arrangement of the plan should be free and adaptable, al-lowing for fast alteration by the user. Second, the project should be tailor-made, highly specialized, and purposefully designed at the level of home office design, including appropriate furnishings, technical appliances, and lighting systems.

The Covid-19 pandemic has encouraged a shift to smart-working both for companies as well as their employees. Work-related activities once performed in dedicated offices had to be moved to private spaces of individual homes, severely influencing how people use their residential space. Living and working conditions have been modified and the balance between them – interrupted. In this paper the authors present a study of the changes in the use of residential space based on questionnaires addressed to respondents in five age groups (up to 25, 26-35, 36-50, 51-65, more than 65), and living or studying in and around Milan (Lombardy), an area affected severely by Covid-19 between March and May 2020. The obtained questionnaire results have allowed the authors to create a set of apartment design requirements, which improve the performance of space. Research has led to a model-case study apartment.
Pandemia Covid-19 zmusiła do przejścia w tryb pracy zdalnej rzesze pracowników. Czynności dotychczas wykonywane w przeznaczonych do tego biurach, zostały przeniesione do prywatnych przestrzeni indywidualnych domów, co wpłynęło na sposób, w jaki ludzie wykorzystują przestrzeń mieszkalną. Warunki życia i pracy uległy zmianie, a dotychczasowa równowaga między nimi – zaburzeniu. W niniejszej pracy autorzy przedstawiają badania zmian zachodzących w użytkowaniu przestrzeni mieszkalnej na podstawie ankiet skierowanych do respondentów w pięciu grupach wiekowych (do 25 lat, 26-35 lat, 36-50 lat, 51-65 lat, powyżej 65 lat), mieszkających lub uczących się w Mediolanie (Lombardia) i jego okolicach, na obszarach silnie dotkniętych przez Covid-19 w okresie od marca do maja 2020 roku. Uzyskane wyniki pozwoliły autorom na opracowanie zestawu wymogów dotyczących projektowania mieszkań, uwzględniając domową przestrzeń biurową. Badania doprowadziły do realizacji modelowego mieszkania.

W artykule autor podejmuje próbę wykorzystania koncepcji dynamicznych zdolności i rutyn do opracowania polityki wynagrodzeń w firmie. Dla realizacji celów artykułu zastosowano prosty schemat wnioskowania dedukcyjnego. Opierając się na opisie dynamicznych zdolności i rutyn, zaproponowano trzy podstawowe wytyczne dla konstrukcji systemu wynagrodzeń. Pierwsza dotyczy kryteriów wynagradzania. Druga opisuje sposób tworzenia struktury i doboru form, typów wynagrodzeń. Trzecia poziomu płac. Ich treść sugeruje sposób projektowania systemu wynagrodzeń, który, w pewnym zakresie, różni się od dotąd opisywanych w literaturze.
In this article the author undertakes an effort to apply the concept of dynamic capability and routine to develop a company remuneration policy. In order to achieve this target, the article applies a simple scheme of deductive reasoning. Three basic recommendations are proposed for constructing the system of rewards. They are based on a description of the dynamic capability and routine concept. The first concerns pay criteria. The second describes ways of developing structure and selecting forms and types of compensation. The third looks at pay levels. Their content suggests the way in which the remuneration system should be designed, which, in a sense, is different from that described in literature to date.

Opis:
Security management at regional and local levels is discussed within the realm of public management. Currently, its development is affected by the concepts related to New public management and New public governance, which take into consideration the managerial, the managerial approach as well as interactions with stakeholders, among others. Within these considerations, until recently, a company was analysed as one of many participants in the relations. Nowadays, from the point of view of the theory of business, special attention is paid to the role of network connections between entities. The meaning of a new type of crisis in company (of non-economic nature) is emphasised. Analyzing these points of view, while trying to find common theoretical grounds, attention was paid to the role of networking in managing regional and local security. The emphasis is put on the role of practices, routines and flexibility of a business entity which may be used e.g. in a threat situation, when the networking approach is taken.
Zarządzanie bezpieczeństwem na poziomie regionalnym i lokalnym jest rozpatrywane w ramach zarządzania publicznego. Aktualnie na jego rozwój wpływają koncepcje związane z New public management (nowe zarządzanie publiczne) i New public governance. W znacznej części uwzględniają one między innymi podejście menadżerskie, a także interakcje z interesariuszami. Przedsiębiorstwo w ramach tych rozważań do tej pory było rozpatrywane jako jeden z wielu uczestników powiązań. Współcześnie, z punktu widzenia teorii przedsiębiorstwa zwraca się szczególną uwagę na rolę powiązań sieciowych pomiędzy podmiotami. Akcentuje się znaczenie nowego typu kryzysu w firmie, o charakterze pozaekonomicznym. Rozpatrując te punkty widzenia, doszukując się wspólnych podstaw teoretycznych, zwrócono uwagę na rolę sieciowości w zarządzaniu bezpieczeństwem regionalnym i lokalnym. Podkreślono rolę praktyk, rutyn i elastyczności podmiotu gospodarczego, które mogą być wykorzystane na przykład w sytuacji zagrożenia, uwzględniając podejście sieciowe.
