Opis:
This paper concerns the process of negotiating author and reader roles in the blogosphere. The starting point of this article is the theory of Roland Barthes that the death of the author is necessary for the birth of the reader. This idea notably responds to changing relations between the author and the reader in the new nedia era. The exemple of the blogosphere allows us to see that the roles of the author and the reader are not pre-defined and the filed of their "laws" is negotiated (two models of negotiations are described in this paper). In the blogosphere, wkich is an exemple of participatory culture, knocking the author off his pedestal does not result in the reader replacing the author, as R. Barthes would like. On the empty pedestal, after dumping the author, the reader does not appear - but communication does.

Opis:
The article discusses Roland Barthes’ experience of photography and presents its distinctive dramaturgy, which emerges from the reflections of the author of The Light of Image. It is played out between attempts at a theoretical grasp of the essence of photography and a personal, intimate experience of being photographed, but also of being a spectator looking at various photographs. Barthes places this experience in two basic perspectives. The first is connected with the process of taking photographs and the second with the experience of the spectator. This also includes the experience of photography with one’s own image, which according to the author, is always an experience of oneself as someone else, and the experience of searching for “the truth of photography”, especially important in the context of the photographs of his deceased mother. It is significant in Barthes’s concept that he is talking about traditional photography which had a completely different character and performed different functions to digital images do today. Moreover, as the author notes, Barthes’s theoretical findings would be untenable in relation to digital photography.

Opis:
The author of this article attempts to assess the influences of Brecht’s theory on the literary production by contemporary German playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig. The author follows their transgressions and transpositions based on selected examples of his plays. Referring to the definition of transgression given by Grzegorz Petrek, he attempts to analyse such issues as acting, alienation, the meaning of text and image in Brecht’s drama, as well as its didactic and political potential. With regard to drama and theatre in German, Schimmelpfennig has been under an immense influence of Brecht’s ideas and practices.

Opis:
W artykule autorka wysuwa teoretyczną propozycję, by z autobiografii wyodrębnić autoanalizę.
The author comes up with a theoretical proposal to extract autoanalysis from autobiography. At the crossroads of psychoanalysis, poststructualism and the affect theory concepts, autoanalysis shall be based on deepened relation with oneself, in opposition to the classical autobiography, which stays only on the surface level of cognition. Intimate theory of literature by Roland Barthes opens up to this type of area of distinction. The author focuses on the affect of love, which helps her present unexpected stimulus of getting to know one self and simultaneously define the auto-analytic perspective of literature research.

Opis:
Roland Barthes was not only a literary theorist, a critic or a semiotician. Above all, he was concerned with signs, symbols and representations which shape the everyday life and nourish both identities of the individual subject and the social group. As the world celebrates in 2015 the centenary of his birth, the question of his intellectual and literary legacies has never been more relevant. In the large scope of his works, L’Empire des signes, published in 1970 following several trips to Japan, is rather a particular piece which hinges on a specific combination of text and images. By looking at the structure of Barthes’s work and the relationship between the author’s discourse and the meanings released through the images, this paper aims to highlight the poetics of the image as a founding element in L’Empire des signes. The study of three categories of images used in the volume and their confrontation with the author’s developments shed new light on the contribution of the iconographic element towards a valuable understanding of signs and significations.

Cuban migrants are considered as and referred to as exiles. However, in the face of the economic transformations in Cuba, as well as the rapprochement between the U.S. and Cuba, it has become necessary to revise the epistemological and semiotic foundations of this phenomenon. The current migratory trends among the Cubans do not meet the definition of exiles. Thus, the title of this article reflects the research assumption and the principal aim that the current circumstances in Cuba, as well as the migratory flows of Cubans mark the decline of the myth of the Cuban exile; a myth built by the media.

Błoński’s book was first published in 1965. Barthes wrote his text in 1978 and he didn’t read Błoński. The parallels and similarities between both texts are really striking: the question of rhythm of Proust’s novel, the problem of literary genre, critical affect of the reader etc.

Opis:
Inasmuch as mathematical platonism can be clearly matched with the radical realism, there exists a possibility to point out an approach, promoted by a French physicist, Roland Omnés, that is equivalent to the Aristotelian position of moderate realism. This standpoint denies the existence of an independent universum of mathematical entities and claims that mathematics is encoded in the laws of physics. In analogy to logicism, where mathematics is considered to be reducible to logic, Omnés' position is called by him 'physism' to stress the reducibility of mathematics to the laws of physics. The goal of Roland Omnés is to construct a common philosophy of mathematics and physics where the realities of these two disciplines converge. The first part of the analysis aims at the description and critical evaluation of physism from the point of view of the adequacy of the consistent histories interpretation of quantum mechanics to provide physical basis of the abstraction of the mathematical structures from the physical reality.

The Chronicles of Narnia has an established position in the canon of children’s literature. However, what on the surface is a fairy tale involving adventures and magic; with children, kings, talking beasts, and wood spirits as main protagonists; is, in fact, a set of stories deeply rooted in Christian and chivalric traditions, containing elements of beast fable and morality tale. The story, according to Madeline L’Engle, depending on the reader's cultural knowledge and experience, may be understood on various levels, from the literal one of an adventure story for children, through the moral and allegorical levels, eventually reaching the anagogical level. While reading The Chronicles, one is able to notice various references to other written works, interwoven into the text, with the Bible, chivalric romances and beast fables being the most prominent sources of intertextual allusions. In The Last Battle Lewis attempts to answer John Donne’s question, “What if this present were the world’s last night?" (Holy Sonnet XIII) and presents a comprehensive image of Narnian apocalypse and life after death in Aslan’s country. The following paper will present the most noteworthy intertextual references in the final volume of The Narniad.

The surrealist Quebec poet, painter and artists’ books editor Roland Giguère has based his entire work on a dialogue between poetry and visual arts (painting, serigraphy, typography) in order to experiment the iconicity of writing. He has composed a graphic poetry made of plastic and iconic signs as well as graphic signs, playing with the semiotic ambiguity to create poetic effects and sense. His polysemiotic experiment of the poem based on a specific use of serigraphy has impacted the readability, but has paradoxically shown a new kind of poeticity and the expressiveness of writing. The aim of this article is to establish how the writing subversion and the semiotic experiment allowed by an original use of serigraphy creates poetry.

Opis:
The literary work Rolandslied, written at the end of the 12th century by Pfaffe Konrad, most probably at the behest of Henry the Lion, is a transformation of the history known from the French literary work Chanson de Roland, written three quarters of a century earlier. It is an interesting example of adjusting French patterns to the expectations of recipients at German courts. In the epilogue he added, Konrad takes up the topic of the relationship between his version and the French one. This article carries out the comparative analysis, in the line with the trend of the humanities of affects, is an attempt to answer many research questions. Why in Konrad’s work the opposition of attitudes is depicted precisely with the help of fear, and can the source for such an approach be found in earlier models? What explains the important role of fear in the key scene of this literary work? What literary strategies are developed according the theme of fear? What are the sources of these strategies?
