    The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has defined priorities of its foreign policy in the form of circles. These determinants are geographical, historical, religious, and economic. Saudi targets are calculated for many years ahead. Their main aim is to become a leader in the Arab and Islamic world. As soon as Saudi Arabia gain a strong legitimacy, will it be one of the most important representatives of the Islamic World on the worlds political agenda. The intention of the author is to show these circles, as well as the presentation of the activities of Riyadh within them.

    Saudi Arabia’s economy is based on oil over the decades. The sudden drop in prices meant that Riyadh had to implement a program of economic transformation. Aim of the article is to outline ecnomic programs implemented in the Kingdon with the Saudi Vision 2030. It is a program of economic transformation of the kingdom. The text also raises the issues of the historical development programs that were implemented in the Saudi’s kingdom.

    Opis:
    Metro w Rijadzie, stolicy Arabii Saudyjskiej, będzie kolejnym systemem metra w krajach naftowych leżących nad Zatoką Perską. Na budowę linii oraz zakup taboru przeznaczono 23 mld USD, decydując się na pozyskanie pociągów kolei podziemnej od Alstomu, Bombardiera i Siemensa. Jednym z powodów budowy metra jest szybko rosnąca liczba mieszkańców Rijadu (obecnie 6,5 mln) oraz wyczerpywanie się przepustowości arterii miejskich. System kolei podziemnej docelowo będzie składać się z 6 linii o całkowitej długości ok. 177 km. Utworzono międzynarodowe konsorcja złożone z renomowanych firm pod przewodnictwem podmiotów saudyjskich, które otrzymały kontrakty na kompleksowe zaprojektowanie, zbudowanie i wyposażenie sieci metra w Rijadzie oraz późniejszy nadzór. Polskim akcentem jest zaprojektowanie i wyprodukowanie pociągów metra z rodziny Metropolis w dywizji koncernu Alstom – zakładzie w Chorzowie.
    Metro in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, is the next underground system in the oil-countries on the Persian Gulf. 23 bln USD was allocated for the lines construction and purchase of rolling stock, deciding to obtain trains for the underground railways from three worldleading manufacturers: Alstom, Bombardier and Siemens. The reason of the decision for metro construction is that this city has growing rapidly population (currently 6.5 million) and depletion of city artery capacity. The underground railway system will ultimately consist of 6 lines with a total length of approx. 177 km. It was established international consortia with renowned companies under Saudi leadership, which received contracts for comprehensive projecting, construction and equipment of the Riyadh metro network and subsequent supervision. The Polish accent are trains from the Metropolis family which are projected and manufactured in the Alstom Group division – the plant in Chorzów.

    Background This study was done to see the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders among information technology (IT) professionals in Saudi Arabia, the risk factors associated with them, their consequences, and to propose some preventive measures. Material and Methods A self-administered online questionnaire that included questions on the demographic data, job nature, medical history, work-related pain after joining information technology profession and distribution and severity of pain was sent to 250 information technology professionals working in Saudi Arabia. Results Out of 250, 202 (81%) IT professionals participated in the study. At least 62 (32%) reported that they have developed some type of musculoskeletal pain after joining their profession and 38 (61%) respondents further reported that it was so severe that they had to seek some sort of treatment for their pain. On the Visual Analog Scale ranging 0–10, 14 (23%) respondents reported that their worst ever pain was >7. Despite lower representation 67% of the females reported to develop work-related pain. Conclusions Development of work-related musculoskeletal pain among information technology professionals has been shown to affect their activities of daily living. It may even force them to change their work setting or reduce working hours. Information technology sector has rapidly grown in Saudi Arabia in the recent times and there is no data on the incidence or prevalence of such disorders among them. Role of ergonomics and counseling should be emphasized during their training that help them work effectively and efficiently. A similar large-scale study should be conducted to see the effect of lifestyle related to COVID-19 on the lives of working population especially IT professionals.
