This paper presents some generalizations of BCI algebras (the RM, tRM, *RM, RM**, *RM**, aRM**, *aRM**, BCH**, BZ, pre-BZ and pre-BCI algebras). We investigate the p-semisimple property for algebras mentioned above; give some examples and display various conditions equivalent to p-semisimplicity. Finally, we present a model of mereology without antisymmetry (NAM) which could represent a tRM algebra.

Opis:
Detailed anatomy, crucial in modern high-definition diagnostics imaging, is a base for understanding diagnostic images and the nature of the diagnosed disease. The aim of this paper is presentation of a new anatomical model of the rotator cuff, which includes definition of tendinous and capsule-ligamentous layers as equally important to rotator cuff function understanding. Schematic and diagnostic (ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging) anatomy of the rotator cuff based on the core tendon concept is presented. Appropriate tissue layers of the cuff are discussed in detail. In the diagnostics part some enthesal pathologies of the rotator cuff are presented. Material and methods: New anatomical data was analyzed in the context of rotator cuff layers – their presence, thickness and structure observed on magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasonographic images. Conclusions: Rotator cuff should be regarded as a multilayer structure consisting of fused fibers of tendons and capsuloligamentous complex. The thickness of these layers is comparable therefore it is important to realize that capsular pathologies may become a serious obstacle to normal shoulder joint function. Understanding of anatomical rotator cuff layers explains the formation of calcific cavities within the rotator cuff. In fact between layers of the cuff. Calcific cavities are a sequelae of chronic enthesopathy/enthesal tear with hydroxyapatite filling and probably delaminating the tendinous layer from the capsuloligamentous one.
Anatomia szczegółowa, jakiej wymaga nowoczesna diagnostyka obrazowa, jest podstawą zrozumienia obrazów diagnostycznych oraz natury diagnozowanej choroby. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie nowego modelu anatomicznego struktur mięśniowo-ścięgnistych i torebkowo-więzadłowych o kompleksowej nazwie pierścień rotatorów, na podstawie schematów anatomicznych i anatomii diagnostycznej (ultrasonografia i rezonans magnetyczny) pierścienia z zastosowaniem koncepcji rdzeni ścięgnistych. Omawiane są odpowiednie warstwy tkankowe pierścienia rotatorów. W części diagnostycznej przedstawiono niektóre patologie entezy ramiennej pierścienia rotatorów. Materiał i metoda: Przeanalizowano najnowsze dane z badań anatomicznych struktury warstw pierścienia rotatorów – ich lokalizację, wymiary i strukturę w badaniach ultrasonograficznym i rezonansu magnetycznego. Wnioski: Pierścień rotatorów powinien być rozpatrywany jako wielowarstwowa struktura składająca się z przeplatających się i zespalających ze sobą włókien ścięgien i kompleksu torebkowo-więzadłowego spełniających różne funkcje statyczno- dynamiczne. Grubość tych warstw jest porównywalna, stąd duże znaczenie ma świadomość, że patologie kompleksu torebkowo-więzadłowego mogą stać się poważną przeszkodą w prawidłowym funkcjonowaniu stawu ramiennego, mając istotny wpływ na zachowanie się całego pierścienia rotatorów. Zrozumienie anatomii i funkcji warstw pierścienia rotatorów wyjaśnia część zagadki tworzenia się hydroksyapatytowych jam wapiennych pomiędzy warstwami ścięgien/kompleksu. Jamy te są konsekwencją uszkodzeń entezy pierścienia rotatorów na granicy przyczepu warstwy ścięgnistej i torebkowo- więzadłowej. Takie uszkodzenie entezy otwiera drogę do wypełniania już istniejących rozwarstwień ścięgna-kompleksu oraz aktywnego ich rozlaminowywania poprzez ciągłe wypełnianie materiałem wapiennym.

Opis:
We present results of recent numerical simulations on the non-linear response of a single-electron atom submitted to an intense laser pulse. We address both the questions of the light scattered by the atom and the possible stabilization against ionization. One of the results of our simulations is the the presence of hyper-Raman lines in the high-order harmonic spectra. We suggest that these lines could be a signature of atomic stabilization.

The magnetic-dipole interaction constants A and the electric-quadrupole interaction constants B of two n$\text{}^{2}$D$\text{}_{3}\text{}_{/}\text{}_{2}$ states of $\text{}^{85}$Rb were measured by the quantum beat method. The results are - for n = 10: |A| = 0.393(8) MHz, |B| = 0.141(13) MHz, for n = 11: |A| = 0.283(6) MHz, |B| = 0.100(11) MHz, and positive ratio B/A for both states.

Opis:
We present a simple model describing kinetic energy probability distributions of outgoing electrons in the direct double photoionization of helium. The model applies to photons of energy greater than the binding energy of the atom and to radiation intensities extending from perturbation regime to the strong-field one. It appears that the shape of probability distribution is mainly determined by the electron-electron correlation in their final state. For nonperturbative intensities the distribution depends strongly on polarization of incident radiation.

Opis:
High power proton relaxometry was applied to investigate the liquid phase contained in porous rock. Proton free induction decays and spin-lattice relaxation times allowed us to investigate the pore distribution and the contribution of mobile and of immobilized liquid. The differences in pore distributions in oil-containing limestone and in Węglowicki sandstone were found. The fractal exponent for pore distribution in Węglowicki sandstone was fitted using both stretched exponential and modified stretched exponential models. The results of both approaches are compared.

Lightweight aggregates, used to produce cavity blocks in the construction sector, vary according to their technical properties and thus, technical analyses should be performed on lightweight aggregate specimens. Lightweight aggregates, like pumice, are widely employed for the production of construction elements, used as light masonry units. In literature there are studies related to applications of various lightweight aggregates, such as volcanic slag, ignimbrite and expanded clay, in addition to pumice, to produce porous cavity blocks. This study investigates the usability of perlitic pumice formations, present around Menderes, İzmir (Turkey), as lightweight aggregate. Many experiments were conducted to investigate this possibility and to determine the optimum mixing ratios of aggregate. Based on the results, for 10% of cement by volume, the optimum aggregate mixing ratio was 40% 0-4 mm and 60% 4-8 mm.

Organic functionality can be added to mesoporous silicates in two ways: either by covalent grafting (postsynthetic) of various functional groups onto the channel walls or by incorporating functionalities directly during the synthesis (one-pot). If the grafted catalytically active groups experience similar environments and are isolated from each other, catalysis process is greatly facilitated. For this purpose, boric acid, as boron source, was added into the initial reaction mixture and then acid functionalization was performed by post and direct method. The obtained acid catalysts were tested in the esterification of propionic acid with methanol and the activity of these new materials was compared to that of SBA-15-SO₃H. Boron addition has facilitated the methyl propionate esterification for both postsynthetic and direct functionalized acid catalyst. Boron incorporated and postsynthetic functionalized mesoporous acid catalyst has highly enhanced the esterification reaction, compared to direct functionalized acid catalyst. The post functionalization method seems to be superior to one-pot functionalization method for preparation of mesoporous acid catalysts.

Vacancy transfer probabilities from K to L shell were measured using $I_{Kβ}//I_{Kα}$ intensity ratios for six elements in the atomic region 16 ≤ Z ≤ 22. The K X-rays from the targets excited by 5.96 keV (1.85 GBq $\text{}^{55}Fe$ filtered annular source) incident photon were obtained using a high resolution PGT model Si(Li) detector. Theoretical values were calculated using radiative and radiationless transition rates of these elements. The measured values of $η_{KL}$ were compared with the theoretical ones. Reasonable agreement was typically obtained between present and theoretical values.

Hazelnut shell was used as a precursor in the production of activated carbon by chemical activation with $H_3PO_4$ since there is a huge volume of such a solid waste resulting from the hazelnut production in eastern Black Sea region of Turkey. Effects of final activation temperature, time and $H_3PO_4$ concentration used in the impregnation stage on the porous development were investigated. Activation at low temperature represented that micropores were developed first and then mesoporosity developed, enhanced up to 400C and then started to decrease due to possible shrinking of pores. The optimum temperature for hazelnut shell was found to be around 400C on the basis of total pore volume and the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area. It was clearly demonstrated that $H_3PO_4$ concentration used in the impregnation stage was not only effective for development of surface area and pore volumes but also an effective tool for tailoring the pore structure and size distribution.

In the framework of the Keldysh-Faisal-Reiss theory in the velocity gauge we investigate the magnitude of the space region, where photoionization in a strong laser field takes place. We find substantial differences between the short-range and the long-range (Coulomb) potentials, and between linear and circular polarizations of incident radiation. It appears that only for the initial state in the Coulomb potential the region of space, where ionization is held, expands significantly with increasing intensity for a typical optical frequency and non-relativistic but strong circularly polarized laser field. As a result of our considerations, we suggest to modify the idea of Reiss and Krainov of a certain simple Coulomb correction to the Volkov wave function. We show that photoionization rate calculated for the H(1s) atom, using our approach, is in better agreement with other theoretical results for moderately strong circularly polarized laser field.

In an experimental setup, consisting of quasi-two-dimensional square cell, the motion of monodisperse spherical steel balls is studied. The cell is vibrated horizontally to eradicate the compaction of balls due to gravity. By raising the number density of the steel balls, the dilute fluid has been gradually alternated into dense fluid. The temperature of granular media, along the driven and transverse directions, has been found to be anisotropic. Transition from granular gas to the liquid-like fluid has been observed. The radial distribution function of the balls in the cell is investigated for the authentication of the structural changes. Furthermore, the fast Fourier transformation for the 2D system is carried out to confirm these changes.

We study revival and fractional revival phenomena of wave packets in a one-dimensional Rydberg atom irradiated by two time-delayed half-cycle pulses using an autocorrelation function characterized by electronic transition probabilities as weighting factors rather than modeling them by a Gaussian or Lorentzian distribution. If the momentum $(q_2)$ delivered to the atom by the second kick is much smaller than that $(q_1)$ imparted by the first one, the times of revival and fractional revival coincide with those of the single kicked atom. For $q_2$ ≥ $q_{1}//4$ appearance of revival and fractional revival depends on both the values of $q_2$ and time delay $t_1$ between the pulses but more sensitively on $t_1$. The number of fractional revivals tends to become numerous as the value of $t_1$ increases.

Laser-matter interaction in rare gases (He, Ne, Ar and Xe) has been investigated using a 1 ps Nd-glass laser pulse at 1053 nm with intensities between 10$\text{}^{13}$ to 10$\text{}^{18}$ W/cm$\text{}^{2}$. Three aspects of the interaction have been studied: the creation of multiply charged ions, the energy of the ejected electron and the propagation in an underdense plasma. At the maximum laser intensity, all electrons of the outer shell are removed, except in Ne for which charge states up to 7+ are observed. Comparison of experimental data with Ammosov et al. tunneling model shows a very good agreement, indicating that ionization with a 1 ps pulse in the near infrared light mainly occurs in tunneling regime. Electrons created in a low-density medium with energies up to 5 keV have been detected. These energies are far above the energy acquired during the ionization process, indicating that at high laser intensities electron energy is governed by ponderomotive force. Finally, the study of the propagation of an intense laser pulse in an underdense plasma shows that it is not possible to obtain simultaneously high laser intensity (10$\text{}^{17}$-10$\text{}^{18}$ W/cm$\text{}^{2}$) and high electron density (10$\text{}^{19}$-10$\text{}^{20}$ cm$\text{}^{-3}$). Best conditions for solving this problem will be discussed.

A quasiclassical (WKB) approach is used to construct a theory of atomic transitions induced by a strong light field. This approach is used to find the "Coulomb-Volkov" solutions of the Schrödinger equation in which both the Coulomb and light fields are taken into account. These solutions are shown to be applicable in a region of low light frequencies, low electron energies and angular momenta. The found solutions are used to describe two kinds of processes: strong-field photoionization from highly excited (Rydberg) atomic levels, and field-assisted electron-ion scattering. In the photoionization problem the strong-field complex quasi-energies of an atom are found. A problem of the strong-field stabilization of an atom, as well as the expected behavior of the ionization time in its dependence on the light field strength are discussed.

High-field ionization suppression in a classical Kepler ensemble is discussed in terms of optimization with respect to pulse turn-on rate as well as pre-pulse preparation. It is argued that high-field ionization suppression is best understood in terms of reduced probability of ionization for pulsed fields, whereas for a quasi-steady field, high-field ionization suppression implies a reduced ionization rate at higher intensities. The classical ensemble is used to calculate the high-field ionization rate of a one-dimensional atomic model using a Gaussian short-range potential and the results are compared with high-frequency Floquet theory results recently reported by other authors. Better than qualitative agreement is found and the results are compared and discussed in terms of quantum superposition and classical interference. Finally, high-field ionization suppression is discussed in relation to statistical relative stability of classical orbits of the ensemble, and classical interference for both short- and long-range potentials. Correspondence with quantum superposition is interpreted in relation to quantum-classical correspondence.

Photoionization of Rydberg atoms is considered in the quasi-classical (WKB) approach. The total nonlinear strong-field ionization rate is found and investigated. The time of ionization, as a function of a growing field-strength amplitude, is shown to approach asymptotically the Kepler period t$\text{}_{k}$. Interference stabilization of Rydberg atoms is confirmed to exist in the case of short pulses (shorter than the Kepler period).

Opis:
The experiments on high Rydberg states interacting with short electromagnetic pulses were hitherto mainly explained by using numerical integration of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation in a restricted state basis. In this study we apply a different approach based on the Bersons-Kulsh analytical form factor of the short-pulse approximation. This analytical approach is shown to well reproduce the recent experimental results and those of numerical integration of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation both in the case of terahertz half-cycle pulses and optical many-cycle pulses. This fact enables a recommendation of the analytical Bersons-Kulsh form factor as an alternative and efficient method of quantum calculations of electromagnetically induced Rydberg state redistribution.

Celem pracy było określenie reakcji rodów 4x ziemniaka na dwa różne szczepy wirusa M ziemniaka (PVM). Odporność ocenianych 15 rodów tetraploidalnych, pochodząca od S. megistacrolobum związana jest z reakcją nekrotyczną warunkowaną obecnością genu Rm. Do oceny odporności na PVM zastosowano metodę inokulacji mechanicznej i przez szczepienie. Do zakażeń wykorzystano dwa szczepy: z odmiany Uran (M-U) oraz z odmiany Giewont (M55a). W badanych rodach i 3 odmianach wzorcowych sprawdzono obecność markerów molekularnych sprzężonych z genem Rm (GP 283 i GP 250). Reakcje roślin po zakażeniu wirusem M ziemniaka były bardzo zmienne i zależały od genotypu roślin i zastosowanego szczepu PVM. Rody podzielono na grupy w zależności od obserwowanej reakcji na zakażenie PVM. Różnorodność i zmienność reakcji wskazuje, iż uwarunkowanie odporności na PVM jest bardzo złożone i należy dalej poszukiwać „hipotetycznego” czynnika związanego z genem Rm.
The aim of the study was to identify the response of potato clones (4x) to inoculation with two different strains of the Potato virus M (PVM). The resistance of the evaluated 15 tetraploid clones is derived from S. megistacrolobum and is connected to necrotic reaction governed by the gene Rm. For evaluation of resistance to the PVM, the mechanical inoculation and inoculation by grafting were applied. For the inoculation of potato plants, two strains of PVM were used, namely strain from potato cv. Uran (M-U) and strain from cv. Giewont (M55a). The tested clones and standard cultivars were checked for the presence of molecular markers GP 283 and GP 250, which are linked with the resistance gene Rm. The reaction of plants after inoculation with PVM was variable and depended on the plant genotype and the strain of the virus. The examined clones were divided into groups depending on the observed response to infection with PVM. The diversity and variability of this response indicate very complex conditioning of resistance to PVM and the "hypothetical” factor associated with gene Rm should be still sought.

W pracy omówiony został proces nagniatania tocznego osiowego powierzchni wałków ze stali C45. Powierzchnie do nagniatania przygotowano w procesie toczenia. Następnie wykonano pomiary powierzchni i określono parametry chropowatości po obróbce poprzedzającej (toczeniu). Proces nagniatania przeprowadzono na obrabiarce RM 4010, stosując różne głębokości procesu. Powierzchnie ponownie zmierzono i określono parametry chropowatości po procesie nagniatania. Analizie poddano wpływ głębokości nagniatania na chropowatość powierzchni wałków stalowych. Otrzymane wyniki przedstawiono w postaci profilogramów, tabeli oraz wykresów.
The process of axial burnishing rolling of surfaces from C45 steel rollers is discussed. Finishing surfaces were prepared in a rolling process. Then surface measurements were made and the roughness parameters were determined after pretreatment (turning). Burning was performed on a RM 4010 machine using different depths of the process. Surfaces were remeasured and roughness parameters determined after the burnishing process. The influence of the burnishing depth on the surface roughness after axial burnishing rolling was analyzed. The results are presented in the form of profilographs, table and graphs.

Positron annihilation experiments were carried out on a Portland cement paste one year aged, which was subjected to cycles of dessiccation and subsequent water resaturation, in order to study possible changes of the porosity. Analysis of the annihilation time spectra suggests that drying and rewetting treatments do not induce irreversible modifications in the configuration of the finest gel pores.

The system to be developed has been designed in order to determine the training levels of the athletes in the field of taekwondo at national and international level and to follow-up the talent development process using computer support. The progression and continuity of hit power and time-dependent performance improvement of an athlete can be measured with interactive impact measurement system. The system determines a random target. It marks the target by blue light. When the light turns on, the athlete reacts accordingly and swiftly by kicking without knowing the light timing. The athlete only needs to know where the light is. Unlike in other training systems, the piston has been able to go back and forth in response to the strike of the athlete by means of a moving hydraulic system. The athlete can be pushed back by opening the piston when his/her performance drops down. The piston strike model is deactivated when the performance of the athlete is above a given threshold value. There will be four operating phases in the mechanism depending on the impact speed of the piston. Moving target robotic system analyses various hits in Taekwondo with the aim to determine hit force and reaction time. After completion of the warming up at the first stage, the athlete will be able to increase the workout level from low to high levels and will try to keep the mechanism behind as much as possible. Moreover, the athlete will be able to compare his/her results with results of others. Using this system, the efficiency of athletes can be easily determined and deficiencies can be resolved.

Opis:
The results of studies on drying of layers of particulate corundum performed with digital neutron radiography are presented. The statistical analysis of images was employed to reveal main features of the drying process. It is shown that the first period of drying proceeds within the whole body of the sample. Marked signatures of the end of first period of drying were found for sample mass, temperature, average image brightness as well as standard deviation of brightness time evolutions for the system composed of fine grains. The chaotic nature of this period is delineated by a distinct maximum in the standard deviation of sample image brightness. The presence of the drying front moving from the open surface to the sample bottom is proven to be an attribute of the advanced drying period.

Tunneling regime, introduced by Keldysh, in the interaction of strong lasers with atoms has been now accepted as the reliable method for describing processes when low frequency lasers are involved. Yet it was always assumed that the ionized electrons are leaving the atom with zero initial momentum. Because we are interested in how non-zero momentum influences the transition probability of tunnel ionization, we obtained the exact expression for the momentum. Here the estimation of the transition probability with nonzero momentum included was conducted. Potassium atoms in the laser field whose intensity varied from 10$\text{}^{13}$ W/cm$\text{}^{2}$ to 10$\text{}^{14}$ W/cm$\text{}^{2}$ were studied. It seems that all energy of laser field is used for tunneling ionization process at the beginning of laser pulse - ionization probability is large. After that, with further action of laser pulse, ionization probability decreases, probably because part of laser pulse energy is used for increasing momentum of ejected electrons, leaving smaller amounts of light quanta available for ionization of remaining electrons. If laser pulse lasts long enough, then the amounts of light quanta available for ionization become larger, resulting in increase in ionization probability, now with greater starting energy of ejected electrons.

After a brief review of the ionization of excited hydrogen atoms by a linearly polarized field, we discuss experimental results for the polarization dependence of this process. Experiments at ω/2π = 9.904 GHz used two different ranges of principal quantum number n$\text{}_{0}$ between 29 and 98. At low scaled frequencies, Ω ≲ 0.1, ionization data for certain narrow ranges of n$\text{}_{0}$ exhibit striking sensitivity to fields with elliptical polarization not too far from circular polarization. Classical calculations reproduce this behavior and show it to be the result of 2ω driving terms that appear when the Hamiltonian is transformed to a frame rotating at ω. It shows how higher-dimensional dynamics can influence the ionization and be used to control it when the polarization departs from linear or circular polarization. At higher scaled frequencies, 0.6 ≲ Ω$\text{}_{0}$ ≲ 1.4, near the onset of ionization circularly and elliptically polarized data show surprising similarities with linearly polarized data in a parameter regime where the ionization dynamics is dominated by the influence of the pendulumlike resonance zone centered at scaled frequency n$\text{}_{0}^{3}$ω ≡ Ω$\text{}_{0}$ = 1. The stabilizing influence of this zone can be understood classically, but nonclassical stability associated with quantal separatrix states at its edge is a semiclassical effect.

Lanthanide oxide nanoparticles were encapsulated inside of pores of highly ordered periodic silica of SBA15 type with hexagonal symmetry. The magnetic properties of such nanoperticles were investigated. The structural characterization using the SAXS, XANES, XRD, and $N_{2}$ adsorption measurements showed the presence of lanthanide oxides of $Ln_{2}O_{3}$ type (Ln=La, Pr, Nd, Gd, Eu), with the size of about 5 nm, incorporated in nanoporous channel system. Their magnetic properties, studied by SQUID apparatus, showed the weak antiferromagnetic ordering at 2 K in the nanocomposites $Gd_{2}O_{3}$@SBA15, $Pr_{2}O_{3}$@SBA15 and $Nd_{2}O_{3}$@SBA15. This behaviour of the nanoparticles is caused by blocking process of magnetic moments, which at 300 K exhibit the superparamagnetism, evidenced from ZFC/FC magnetization.

We have investigated magnetic properties of three different samples composed of magnetic Fe or Co core and protective Au or Pt metallic shell, namely Fe@Au, Co@Au and Fe@Pt samples, with sizes of about 10 nm, 8 nm and 5 nm respectively. We have measured and analysed the experimental data of real and imaginary component of ac susceptibility through theoretical laws for non-interacting and interacting particles and we have estimated the strength of their magnetic interactions. Our analyses showed the increase of inter-particle interactions with decreasing particles size.

An experimental investigation of a high power millimetre wave pulse sensor is presented. Two groups of sensors with a flat frequency response were fabricated according to results of the optimisation. The frequency response and voltage standing wave ratio were measured and compared with results of the electrodynamical simulations. The largest measured sensitivity variation of the best sensors within waveguide frequency range was±8%. The reasonable agreement between measured and simulated values of the sensitivity was obtained.

Potassium atoms in circularly polarized laser field whose intensity (I) varies from 2× $10^{12}$ W/$cm^2$ to 2.5× $10^{14}$ W/$cm^2$ were studied. In the case when there is zero initial momentum, transition rate (that depends only on I) exhibits standard behaviour: as I increases, so thus the rate, until it reaches its maximum value at 1.1× $10^{14}$ W/$cm^2$; after that, rate diminishes as I increases. In the case of non-zero initial momentum, transition rate (that now depends on I but additionally on initial momentum, too) exhibits following behaviour: dependence of the rate on I follows standard pattern, it rises with increase of I until it reaches its maximum, and then diminishes. But with increase of momentum, ionization rate gradually diminishes.

We investigate high-order above-threshold ionization of diatomic molecules and their companion atoms by linearly polarized strong laser field using improved molecular (atomic) strong-field approximation. The most noticeable feature of the molecular spectra is the existence of minima that are absent in atomic case. The prepared complex with formula ${[Gd(μ_{3}-FOR)_{3}]}_{n}$ was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and high-energy powder X-ray diffraction. The structural study showed that complex is formed by 3D polymeric network with the shortest Gd-Gd, distances of 3.998 Å. The magnetic properties of the complex were studied by magnetic susceptibility $χ_{M}(T)$ and magnetization M(H) measurements. The results show on the weak antiferromagnetic coupling at low temperatures represented by the Weiss constant θ=-0.468 K. The value of effective magnetic moment $μ_{eff}=7.57μ_{B}$, which was estimated from the experimental data is close to the theoretical value for systems with S=7/2. Correlation between crystal structure of complexes and magnetic properties is presented.

During last 22 years in the Potato Genetics and Parental Lines Department at Młochów Research Center more than 210 parental lines resistant to Potato virus M (PVM) have been bred. Genes controlling resistance to PVM originated from two sources Solanum megistacrolobum (the gene Rm) or/and S. gourlayi (the gene Gm) were introduced into tetraploid breeding material. From these resistant lines 59 progenitors were chosen and offered to the potato breeders. The first resistant to PVM cultivar Triada and second one cv. Korona were registered in Poland in 1996 and 2002, respectively. At present 13 advanced breeding clones from different breeding stations derived from progenitors offered to breeders in 1986-1990 are evaluated in Preliminary Trials. One candidate cultivar tested in Registration Trials appeared to be resistant to PVM. Moreover 15 advanced breeding clones derived from progenitors offered during 1991-1995 were tested in Preliminary Trials. The mechanical and graft inoculations were used to identify the type of resistance to PVM in potatoes. The parental lines, which resistance to PVM is controlled by the gene Rm or/and Gm, express field resistance even under the high natural infection pressure. Increasing number of resistant to PVM new potato cultivars is expected.

Strength and permeability of sand-bentonite mixtures are of main concern, particularly in liner design. This study presents the results obtained from an experimental investigation of strength and permittivity of compacted sand-bentonite mixtures in the presence of water-reducing admixture of lignosulfonate. For this, sand-bentonite mixtures containing 4, 8, 12, 16% of bentonite were subjected to standard Proctor tests, to obtain the optimum water content and maximum void ratio of the mixtures. Similar specimens were prepared by partially replacing 0.5, 1 and 2% of water in the mixture with lignosulfonate. Additional specimens containing 16% of bentonite were prepared with 5% deviation towards the wet and dry sides of optimum water content, which was partially replaced with lignosulfonate for evaluation of the effects of deviation from optimum moisture content during densification. It was observed that partial replacement of water with lignosulfonate slightly increases the strength and decreases the permittivity, and that this effect was more pronounced as the replacement level was increased. Additionally, test results reveal that lignosulfonate replacement was more effective on the dry side of optimum water content.

In this work, positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy was used for the structural characterisation of porous materials prepared from amorphous zeolite precursors acting as the starting materials and hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide acting as a mesoporous template. The best fits of the obtained lifetime spectra provide a four-component exponential decomposition. The lifetime values of the long-lived components point to the presence of mesoporous voids. Infrared and X-ray analyses show that the obtained materials consist partly of a crystalline zeolite structure.

Opis:
Identification of patterns in stock markets has been an important subject for many years. In the past, numerous techniques, both technical and econometric, were used to predict changes in stock markets, but dependences among all the companies listed on a stock market were considered in a limited extent. Numerous studies confirm that larger stocks items appear to influence smaller ones and that, on a global level, most of the world's stock markets are integrated. Therefore, this study implements the association rules using a data mining approach to explore the co-movement between stock items listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. We believe that in order to describe and to understand market's behavior, data mining techniques are more flexible in use than for instance pricing models based on a finance theory. The former seems to be more effective for explaining market behavior without making particular assumptions.

Opis:
The high temperature drying process of corundum cylinders partially saturated with aqueous solutions of sodium chloride was investigated with neutron imaging technique accompanied with mass and temperature measurements. The statistical analysis of neutron images was applied in order to quantify the time evolution of the process. The substantial slowing down of drying with increasing salt concentration was found. This effect was attributed to increase of viscosity of the solution with increasing salt content as well as to the formation of an outer layer of NaCl on the sample surface.

In this paper, by estimating the influence of different atom charge Z to the transition rate in tunnel ionization of atoms in strong laser fields we are devoloping further the observations from our earlier work. That is in the process of tunnel ionization including non-zero momentum into calculation of the transition rate gives result in lower transition rates for ejecting electrons from atoms by low-frequency laser fields, indicating that much of the photons are engaged in transferring energy to the free electron and thus unable to contribute to the effect of ionization. This is a conclusion that needs further experimental testing, which would clarify the mechanisms of tunnel ionization.

Nanocrystalline porous silicon films, which have been formed by using simple wet electrochemical etching process in HF electrolyte, were applied for passivation of high power silicon diodes. An optimal technology was designed to manufacture a uniform layer of porous silicon over the area of the p-n junction. The 8% increase in the yield was achieved onO100 mm diameter wafers with 69 cells of diodes in each, by using a very simple technology for the formation of porous layer for passivation of high power silicon diodes.

Angular distributions of very high energy photoelectrons from Xe and Kr, excited by a 50 ps, 1054 um laser, are presented. In Xe strong, narrow structures 45° off the polarization axis appear on above-threshold ionization peaks within a limited energy range centered around 9U$\text{}_{P}$, where U$\text{}_{P}$ is the intensity-dependent ponderomotive energy. Under the same conditions the effect is much weaker in krypton. These structures are discussed using a very simple classical model as well as sophisticated single active electron calculations and the Keldysh-Faisal-Reiss theory. We conclude these structures are the result of single-electron dynamics involving rescattering of a tunneling component of the continuum wave function.

We present an internally consistent theory of amplification near the minimum of autoionizing states with quantitative application to calcium. We have included a completely specified three-photon pumping and we find certain unusual aspects of the system. We find conditions under which the system remains in a steady state, although being coupled to the continuum. For incoherent pumping we obtain quantitative results for the gain. Our results and their extensions are also discussed in the context of present-day experimental possibilities.

The electron energy spectra correlated to the strong-field double-ionization of xenon are presented at three laser intensities. The double-ionization electrons are on average more energetic than those generated from single-ionization. This difference in energy is not manifested as a simple scaling to higher electron energies, but rather as a change in the shape of the spectra. This trend is observed at all intensities. Most notably, the comparison between single- and double-ionization spectra is very similar at low and high peak laser intensities. This could imply that a sequential double-ionization process dominates at all intensities, even where the double ion yield is enhanced.

Opis:
Consider an initial state lying on a primary resonance island. The state may tunnel into the chaotic sea surrounding it and further escape to infinity via chaotic diffusion. Properties of transport in such a situation are studied on an exemplary system - the hydrogen atom driven by microwaves. We show that the combination of tunneling followed by chaotic diffusion leads to peculiar large scale fluctuations of the AC Stark shift and ionization rates. An appropriate random matrix model describes accurately these statistical properties.

Opis:
Highly-resolved photoabsorption spectraof SiX$\text{}_{4}$ molecules (with X = H, D, F, Cl, Br), recorded by photoionization in the region of the Si-2p absorption thresholds, are presented. Vibrational fine structure could be resolved in all cases, allowing a derivation of vibrational energies and intra-molecular distances of the core-excited molecules from Franck-Condon fits. In case of the heavier ligand atoms, spectral features arising from thermally-excited vibrational states of the electronic ground state were observed. The results obtained for the various ligand atoms are compared with each other and are discussed in the context of the equivalent-cores approximation.

Vertical migration of water in several porous materials has been directly observed and recorded with the recently installed neutron and gamma radiography facility at the MARIA reactor of Institute of Atomic Energy, Świerk. The density profiles of water in samples were obtained from the optical density of digitised images. A simple model (representing the porous material as the collection of capillary tubes of various radii) has been introduced to describe the liquid transport in porous materials in terms of capillary motion. The equation for viscous movement of water in porous material in presence of the gravitation is proposed. A good agreement of the calculated density profiles for vertical water migration with the data collected for siliceous bricks suggests that the thinnest capillary tubes determine the upper edge of the water density profile.
