Poniższe opracowanie zawiera opis stanowiska do komputerowo wspomaganych pomiarów współczynnika fali stojącej (WFS) elementów sieci wielkiej częstotliwości i mikrofalowych, w zakresie częstotliwości od 0,1 do 18 GHz. Podstawowym elementem w zastosowanej metodzie pomiarowej jest podwójny sprzęgacz kierunkowy. Wynikiem pomiarów jest wartość WFS badanego elementu oraz niepewność rozszerzona zmierzonej wartości. Przedstawione wynik pomiarów testowych uwiarygodniają tezę o przydatności opisanego stanowiska do wykonywania pomiarów WFS w warunkach laboratorium mikrofalowego.
The standing wave ratio (SWR) is one of most important and most often measured parameters of the microwave technology. Most commonly the SWR values are measured using a slotted line or a network analyser. This paper describes a semiautomatic SWR measurement system based on a dual directional coupler, which does not have the typical drawbacks of the slotted line technique and does not require the expensive network analysers at the same time. The system allows for measurements in the frequency range from 0,1 to 18 GHz. The proposed setup is shown in Fig. 1. The measurement method specified in Section 3 requires two measurements of the forward and reflected wave power. In the first step a reference load with known SWR is connected to the setup. Afterwards, the device under test is connected in the place of the reference load. The measurement is controlled by a VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) program described in Section 5. The program also calculates the SWR value and the expanded uncertainty for each frequency defined by a user. The expanded uncertainty is determined with use of the method described in Section 4. The test measurement results presented in Section 7 demonstrate the applicability of the proposed setup for measurements of SWR values up to 3. For typical SWR values in the range between 1,1 and 1,7 the relative expanded uncertainty is below 5%.

Opis:
We present the first Polish experience with ablation performed using DiamondTemp catheter. The study was conducted with 3 male patients diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (AF). In the first 2 patients typical transseptal punctures were performed, followed by mapping with the Advisor catheter and EnSite-Precision system. One patient had a residual atrial septal leak, therefore ablation without fluoroscopy was attempted. High-power, short-duration ablation under temperature control was performed around pulmonary vein (PV) ostia. The power was 49-53 W, the temperature was 45-48 ͦC. Duration of procedures/fluoroscopy were: 146/8.9, 177/5.9, 132/0.0 min. In the reference group, 10 recent AF identical ablation procedures performed with traditional equipment resulted in 143.0±27.0/6.0±4.4 min. Duration of DiamondTemp applications were 14.7, 32.7, 30.8 min (reference group 37.3 ± 11.4 min). Procedural endpoints were achieved in all but one patient with incomplete isolation of the low segment of the right inferior PV. There were no procedural complications noted. In conclusion, the DiamondTemp saline-irrigated catheter is safe and effective for high-power short-duration ablation in patients with AF. Furthermore, this technology makes it possible to complete the procedure without fluoroscopy. However these findings must be confirmed in larger group of patients.

Opis:
The technology of CMOS large-scale integrated circuits (LSI's) achieved remarkable advances over last 25 year and the progress is expected to continue well into the next century. The progress has been driven by the downsizing of the active devices such as MOSFETs. Approaching these dimensions, MOSFET characteristics cannot be accurately predicted using classical modeling methods currently used in the most common MOSFET models such as BSIM, MM9 etc, without introducing large number of empirical parameters. Various physical effects that needed to be considered while modeling UDSM devices: quantization of the inversion layer, mobility degradation, carrier velocity saturation and overshoot, polydepletion effects, bias dependent source/drain resistances and capacitances, vertical and lateral doping profiles, etc. In this paper, we will discuss the progress in the CMOS technology and the anticipated difficulties of the sub-0.25 žm LSI downsizing. Subsequently, basic MOSFET modeling methodologies that are more appropriate for UDSM MOSFETs will be presented as well. The advances in compact MOSFET devices will be illustrated using application examples of the EPFL EKV model

Opis:
The paper describes adaptive amplifier design with varactors and pin diodes as regulators of matching networks. As examples the two amplifiers with SHF-0189 HFET transistor and different matching sections were designed and manufactured. The output power level of 27 dBm and gain higher than 13 dB within L and S-band have been achieved. The amplifier design methodology is based on the small-signal approach and DC characteristics of transistors and regulators. Amplifier adaptivity allows us to remotely control the chosen parameters such as: frequency range, output power level, gain and etc.

Opis:
An important area of usage of wireless transmission are systems for secure, robust and energy-efficient visual data transmission. In the paper there are presented the results of work on a wireless digital visual data transmission interactive system, based on Texas Instruments RF communication modules eZ430-RF2500T. The modules operate in 2.4 GHz band and comprise MSP430F2274 microcontrollers and bi-directional RF communication modules CC2500. The system allows manipulating the camera direction with use of two micro-servos Turnigy TG9. In the paper the eZ430-RF2500T module is described [1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12] in Section 1, design conception and system components [2, 3, 7, 8] are discussed in Section 2, the system structure is presented in Section 3 (Fig. 1). Section 4 con-tains an overview of the research methodology applied [12, 13] and the results (Tables 1, 2, Figs. 2, 3, 4 and 5). There were measured four features of the system, namely: influence of interferences, energy efficiency, Multipatch Fading and Raleigh Fading. The interference testing included tests of influence of interferences generated by a microwave oven, Wi-Fi router and cell-phones. The power consumption tests included measurements in various system states of a transmitter and receiver. The multipath Fading tests were carried out in a sports hall divided into a mesh. Raleigh Fading research was realised in the same location, by transmitting a set of frames for an increasing distance. The results are discussed and summarised in Section 5.

ILC machine–International Liner Collider, is one of two accelerators e+e-just under design and advanced consideration to be built with final energy of colliding electron and positron beams over 1 TeV. An alternative project to ILC is CLIC in CERN The ILC machine is an important complementary addition for the research potential of the LHC accelerator complex. The required length of ILC is minimally 30 km, but some versions of the TDR estimates mention nearly 50km. Superconducting RF linacs will be built using well established 1,3 GHz TESLA technology using ultrapure niobium or Nb3Sn resonant microwave cavities of RRR class, of ultimate finesse, working with gradients over 35MV/m, while some versions of the design mention ultimate confinement as high as 50MV/m. Several teams from Poland (Kraków. Warszawa, Wrocław – IFJ-PAN, AGH, UJ, NCBJ, UW, PW, PWr, INT-PAN) participate in the global design effort for this machine – including detectors, cryogenics, and SRF systems. Now it seems that the ILC machine will be built in Japan, during the period of 2016-2026. If true, Japan will turn to a world super-power in accelerator technology no.3 after CERN and USA. The paper summarizes the state-of-the-art of technical and administration activities around the immense ILC and CLIC machines, with emphasis on potential participation of Polish teams in the global effort of newly established LCC –The Linear Collider Consortium.
