W artykule przedstawiono analizę prawnego pojęcia rehabilitacji, występującego na gruncie ustawy o rehabilitacji zawodowej oraz społecznej oraz zatrudnianiu osób niepełnosprawnych. Podstawę dla dokonywanej oceny oraz formułowanych wniosków stanowią standardy ponadnarodowe oraz wytyczne, wynikające w ratyfikowanych konwencji międzynarodowych. W opracowaniu szczególną uwagę zwrócono na adresatów rehabilitacji zawodowej oraz społecznej. Chodzi tu zatem o osoby niepełnosprawne w rozumieniu powyższej ustawy. Rodzi to też daleko idące konsekwencje prawne. Dostęp do rehabilitacji oraz urzeczywistnianie prawa do niej, czemu ma służyć jej prawne uregulowanie, pozostaje bowiem w ścisłym związku z definicją osoby niepełnosprawnej (niepełnosprawności).
The purpose of this paper is to present the legal analysis of the term of rehabilitation. The Law on Professional and Social Rehabilitation and Employment of the Persons with Disabilities provides the legal framework of rehabilitation. Current legislation however, is not seen as fit for purposes as it does not provide the uniform and properly organized system of rehabilitation. The legal term of rehabilitation does not cover the general principles that should be the basis of the right access to rehabilitation, like universality, equality, non-discrimination, as well as the adequacy of the forms of aid and its permanent monitoring. There are different measures, facilities and guarantees taken to improve the right of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation, for the purposes of the legal act, is understood widely. The description was made by many phrases, which have broad general understanding. Accordingly to the adopted formula, its legal importance is quite marginal. Since the recipients of rehabilitation are the people with disabilities, it is essential to make compatibility between the legal term of disability ant the existing system of rehabilitation. Meanwhile, the unclear nature of different forms of rehabilitation, the lack o f the free movement in the general rehabilitation process, inadequacy of benefits to the demands, as well as the dominance of the certain forms of rehabilitation due to the limitation of the support only to certain persons are the main of the difficulties (proverbial “Rubicon”) to ensure the proper access to rehabilitation.

The article contains information about device which is used for rehabilitation of children with proprioception, kinesthesia and balance dysfunctions. Device is designed to help cure children by playing games on PC. Nowadays there are weary few cheap devices like that. Project of the device - toy - was made by students of Silesian University of Technology.

Introduction. Endoprosthetics is the most effective method of returning to a normal way of life without pain. The key element is the post-operative rehabilitation program where a patient has to comply with certain rules and principles. The rehabilitation also includes the family of the patient. Each person, after any surgery requires an individual approach, and no patient can be commonly treated. Aim. The aim of the article is to compare the effects of an early rehabilitation after the implantation of an artificial hip joint in two patient cases. Description of the cases. This research was conducted at Bodden-Klinken GmbH. An individual case study was used, based on an example of two patients at the age of 59 who had implantation of an artificial hip joint. The carried out rehabilitation of the patients was conducted without any disruptions. Patients were able to freely walk on crutches nine days after the procedure. Conclusions. In the cases analyzed, the rehabilitation course was described until the ninth day after implantation of an artificial hip joint. High results in terms of patient rehabilitation were achieved. Furthermore, in order to continue their therapy, they were referred to the sanatorium.

The paper presents a design review for a cycle rehabilitation. There’s been proposed the classification of muscle powered vehicles intended for rehabilitation. Also we’ve proposed the device fitting methodology to individual needs; including anatomy details, physiology precautions and medical prescriptions for different types of disorders.

The contemporary international pandemic proved that a flexible approach towards work, trade and healthcare is not only favorable but a must. Hence, the devices enabling home‐rehabilitation became one of the urgent needs of the medical market. The following overview is a part of an R&D project aimed at designing an exoskeleton and developing methods enabling effective home rehabilitation. It contains a comparison of current devices in terms of their kinematics, applications, weights, sizes, and integration with selected ICT technologies. The data is analyzed regarding conclusions from qualitative research, based on in‐depth interviews with physiotherapists and questionnaires organized beforehand. The investigation assesses whether commercial and developed devices enable feedback from a patient by all possible means; hence, if they could allow effective telerehabilitation. Moreover, their capabilities of increasing engagement and accelerating improvements by supervising techniques and measuring biomechanical parameters are evaluated. These outcomes are a base to set the constraints and requirements before designing an exoskeleton dedicated to home treatment.

Może być postrzegana jako dobre rozwiązanie, aby poprawić efektywność, zaoszczędzić czas oraz zmniejszyć koszty opieki zdrowotnej osób niepełnosprawnych, ciężko chorych i w podeszłym wieku. Artykuł jest próba oceny, w jakim stopniu wykorzystuje się możliwości w tym obszarze, kładąc nacisk na bezpieczeństwo robotów rehabilitacyjnych oraz analizę zagrożeń. Ze względu na brak badań i publikacji konieczne są dalsze badania w omawianym zakresie.
Rehabilitation robotics is perceived as the use of robotic devices in rehabilitating various conditions, especially motor, cardiological and neurological ones. It can be perceived as a good solution in improving efficiency, saving time and reducing the cost of healthcare of patients with disabilities, those severely ill and elderly ones. This article aims at investigating the extent to which the available opportunities are used, with a particular focus on how safe of rehabilitation robots are and what threat they pose. As there are no relevant studies or publications, further research is necessary.

Pod pojęciem rehabilitacji rozumie się proces leczenia, który umożliwia przyspieszenie procesu naturalnej regeneracji i zmniejszenia fi zycznych i psychicznych następstw choroby. Rehabilitacja lecznicza musi stymulować cały proces leczniczy głównie poprzez aktywność ruchową i psychiczną. Rehabilitacja w swym obecnym ujęciu i formie organizacyjnej stanowi niewątpliwie nowy kierunek działania i postępowania w dziedzinie ochrony zdrowia oraz rozwijania i utrzymywania jak najlepszej sprawności fi zycznej człowieka. Początki rehabilitacji sięgają początków ludzkości. Zasady i metody stosowane obecnie w leczeniu usprawniającym mają wiekowe tradycje. Rehabilitacja wyłoniła się w rozwiniętych społeczeństwach z nieszczęść ludzkich i katastrof, za które społeczność czy państwo poczuły się odpowiedzialne. Skutki tych nieszczęść wprowadzały osoby nimi dotknięte w impas życiowy. One same nie potrafi ły się wyzwolić, a pomoc lekarska nie zdołała usunąć kalectwa. W czasach współczesnych, w których podziwiamy wspaniałe osiągnięcia naukowe, zwłaszcza w dziedzinie techniki, często zapomina się o tym, że na całokształt tych osiągnięć składa się doświadczenie lat, a nawet wieków. Wątek zdrowotny był od początku ścisłym łącznikiem szeroko rozumianej medycyny i kultury fi zycznej. A rola fi zjoprofi laktyki i rehabilitacji będzie stale rosła zarówno w aspekcie ogólnospołecznym, jak i leczniczym. Autorka na podstawie literatury fachowej przedstawiła rozwój rehabilitacji leczniczej w Polsce i na świecie, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem roli polskich uczonych w powstaniu współczesnego modelu rehabilitacji leczniczej.
Rrehabilitation means the process of treatment that can accelerate natural recovery process and reduce the physical and psychological consequences of diseases. Rehabilitation must stimulate the healing process mainly through physical activity and mental health. Undoubtedly rehabilitation is a new course of action and behaviour in health and to develop and maintain the best physical activity in human.Th e history of rehabilitation dates back hundreds of years. Principles and methods currently used in the treatment of streamlining have an ancient tradition. Rehabilitation emerged from calamities and disasters. Th e community or the state become responsible for it. Th e eff ects of these disasters set people to face a dead end. Medical treatment failed to remove a disability. In modern times, where we admire the great scientifi c achievements, especially in the fi eld of technology, it has oft en forgotten that on the whole these achievements consist experience years and even centuries. From the beginning health condition was linked closely with medical and physical culture. Th e role of rehabilitation will continue to grow in the general public and therapeutic fi eld. Th e author based on the literature presented the development of medical rehabilitation in Poland and in the world. With particular emphasis on the role of Polish scientists in the founding of the modern rehabilitation.

Introduction. The Constitution of 1997 of the Republic of Poland guarantees all citizens the equal right to healthcare benefits financed from public funds. The National Health Fund (NFZ), being the main payer in the system, is responsible for contracts with both public and private healthcare providers. Patients with healthcare insurance are entitled to guaranteed healthcare benefits in accordance with the current medical knowledge within the limits of NFZ funds available. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the availability of the guaranteed healthcare benefits in medical rehabilitation in the Podkarpacie province. Materials and methods. The research includes information and data on amounts of money for healthcare contracts related to medical rehabilitation in the Podkarpacie province from July 1, 2014 to June 30,2017. The information is posted on the website of the Rzeszow Podkarpacie Branch of The National Health Fund. Results. The analysis conducted indicates that in the Podkarpacie province there are significant statistical differences in the distribution of funds for ambulatory physiotherapy and medical rehabilitation care in individual districts. Conclusions. It is necessary to increase investment funds and a change in the distribution, increasing access to rehabilitation to those in need

The change of political climate in 1956 gave an opportunity to start open discussion about the condition of Polish judicial system. You could mention opinions in which lawyers demanded repairing “errors of the past” and proposed to impose measures for retaining legality in future. The basic topic of this discussion was concentrated on question of rehabilitation of those, who were unjustly punished in Stalin era. Judges and prosecutors were involved in the process of rehabilitation. The measures undertaken in 1956–1957 were far from expectations and from today’s perspective these measures can be qualified as insufficient.

Thermal waters belong to the greatest treasures of Podhale. They are used not only in heat engineering but also in recreation, medicine and rehabilitation (Kępińska 2004, 2009, Tomaszewska 2009). It is also known that thermal waters are treated and used for drinking or commercial purposes (Bujakowski & Tomaszewska 2007, Tomaszewska 2009, 2011, Tomaszewska & Bodzek 2013). Thermal waters in Bańska Niżna are exploited by PEC Geotermia Podhalańska S.A. Company. Commercial use of these waters began in 1993, when the system based on geothermal doublet, supplied heat to several houses (Ślimak & Wartak 2009). Currently, the exploitation is made by using three wells: Bańska IG-1 well, Bańska PGP-1 well and Bańska PGP-3 well. Hydrogeochemical characteristic of thermal waters in Bańska Niżna was based on researches concerning the state of those waters, which was being carried out every two weeks between December 2013 and August 2015. Field research was based on measurements of non-stable parameters – pH, electrical conductivity γ 25 and the temperature on the flow. The results of field measurements were supplemented with archival data: water temperature at the well head, pressure and well discharge. The samples for laboratory tests were taken by the author of this work in accordance with the standard ISO 5667-11:2004. The chemical composition analysis of thermal waters was carried out by accredited Hydrogeochemical Laboratory of the Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology AGH in Kraków (certificate of Polish Centre of Accreditation No. AB 1050). This analysis included measurements of concentration of 45 indicators. On the basis of the results of the research, the hydrogeochemical type of thermal waters in Bańska Niżna was defined as sulfate-chloride-sodium-calcium type (according to the classification by Shchukarev–Priklonskiy (Prikłoński & Łaptiew 1955)). The medium values of the basic parameters of analyzed wells, estimated on the basis of data from 2013–2015, are as follows: - Bańska IG-1 well: pH 6.63, γ 25 3.48 mS/cm, temperature at the well head 78.5°C, pressure 11.8 ba, well discharge 58.1 m 3 /h, mineralization 2522.8 mg/dm 3 ; - Bańska PGP-1: pH 6.69, γ 25 3,39 mS/cm, temperature at the well head 85.9°C, pressure 14.4 ba, well discharge 317.3 m 3 /h, mineralization 2533.6 mg/dm 3 ; - Bańska PGP-3: pH 6.72, γ 25 3.43 mS/cm, temperature at the well head 85.0°C, pressure 14.0 ba, well discharge 221.3 m 3 /h, mineralization 2514.3 mg/dm 3. The database from the years 2013–2015 was supplemented by archival results of chemical composition analyzes. On that basis, the assessment of the thermal waters chemical composition stability in Bańska Niżna was prepared, according to the scheme presented in work (Kmiecik & Korzec 2015). It is especially important because physical parameters and chemical composition of geothermal waters can be change during the long-term exploitation. According to Polish law, confirm stability of the physico-chemical parameters is necessary because using these waters in medicine (Dz.U. 2011, nr 163, poz. 981 art. 5). Moreover, the hydrogeochemical model of formation of those waters was defined.

Modern society faces up to many difficult challenges. One such challenge is rehabilitation of chil- dren with functional developmental deficiencies and reconstructing of their socio-cultural environment, social inclusion, stimulating of their creative development, etc. continue to be of great importance. However, it was not until 1990s that children with special needs became focus of systematic studies. The author proposes many approaches concerning work with children affected by growth impairments; the proposed therapies are expected to compensate for disfunctionalities in a child’s development and his or her functioning at school and in society.

This paper deals with mechanical and hardware design of a robot, used for the rehabilitation of upper extremities. It has been called ARR-1 (Arm Rehabilitation Robot). The robot has a semi-exoskeleton structure. This means that some parts of the robot fit closely to the human arm (an orthosis), but the weight of the construction does not load patient’s body. The device is used for the whole arm rehabilitation, but active joints are only situated in glenohumeral and elbow joints. The robot is electrically actuated.
Artykuł opisuje mechanikę oraz część sprzętową systemu sterowania robota przeznaczonego do rehabilitacji kończyny górnej. Robot został nazwany Arm Rehabilitation Robot - ARR i charakteryzuje się strukturą semi-egzoszkieletalną. Oznacza to, że część aktywna przylega do ciała pacjenta, a jego struktura kinematyczna przypomina kończynę górną, ale waga robota nie obciąża pacjenta. Urządzenie może być używane do rehabilitacji całej kończyny górnej, ale aktywne stopnie swobody znajdują się w stawach barkowo-obojczykowym oraz łokciowym. Robot jest napędzany silnikami elektrycznymi.

Opis:
At the end of the XX century significant changes in the rehabilitation practice took place. The traditional, medical model of rehabilitation was replaced with the social model. The development of rehabilitation practice required modifications in the approach to the problems of the handicapped. Therefore, the article discusses the results of research which defined life problems experienced currently by the handicapped. As a consequence of the conducted analysis, a proposition has been presented which suggests that the process of adjusting to disability should be interpreted as an individual and linear sequence of changes which lead to varied rehabilitation outcomes. On the basis of this model the article proposes specific principles of influencing psychologically the handicapped in order to increase their involvement in the rehabilitation process.

W pracy przedstawiono projekt urządzenia do rehabilitacji ręki, pozwalającego na poprawienie jakości oraz wartości chwytu pacjenta. Do głównych funkcji urządzenia należy stabilizacja oraz rehabilitacja mięśni zginaczy i prostowników palców. W pracy wykorzystano program Autodesk Inventor Professional 2008.
The project of device for the hand rehabilitation is presented in the paper. Device enable better quality and force of catch. Stabilization and rehabilitation of flexors and extensors of fingers are the main functions of device presented in the paper. Program Autodesk Inventor Professional 2008 was used in the work.

Opis:
Employment is very important for every human being, but especially for people with disabilities. Employment gives people with disabilities an opportunity to regain self-confidence and make them feel needed and appreciated. Despite the improvement on the Polish labor market, people with disabilities have difficulties with accessing it. Local authorities implemented several programmes addressed to people with disabilities and employers, financed by the National Disabled Persons Rehabilitation Fund to make employment more accessible. Unfortunately, only a small percentage of people with disabilities benefited from these programs in 2010–2020. Both central and local authorities should take more measures to increase the number of people with disabilities in the labour force. First of all, they should generate optimal regulations and transparent procedures to encourage them to enter the labour market.
