Opis:
Seismic wave attenuation has strong, negative effect on the seismic data resolution. The high influence of this phenomenon was observed during realization of seismic survey "Duża Wólka 3D" (Geofizyka Kraków S.A. 2010a). The resolution of recorded seismic data was very low due to high attenuation caused by the Lower Triassic Buntsandstein sandstones. In consequence, interpretation of the thin-layered Zechstein formation is ambiguous. The aim of this paper is to present the multi-stage algorithm for the purpose of minimizing the attenuation effect, hence increasing the resolution of the seismic data. In order to achieve this, the inverse Q filtering process was used. The Q factor (quality factor) was estimated from the vertical seismic profiling data (Geofizyka Kraków S.A. 2010c). To verify the effectiveness of inverse Q filtering, seismic modelling was performed. Results received from seismic modelling gave basis for application the inverse Q filtering on real data. For this operation the seismic time profile inline 112 was chosen from the seismic data set "Duża Wólka 3D". Application of inverse Q filtering significantly increased the seismic resolution, which enabled the interpretation of the Zechstein formation with more accuracy.

Opis:
The article presents the prospects for application of wireless power supply in electronic devices. A short description of advantages of using this technology including the principle of its operation and construction of typical systems applied in devices of everyday use was provided. Two types of resonance systems used for wireless transmission of energy were presented. Also, advantages and disadvantages of using each of these systems were listed. Furthermore, the impedance and performance analyses of the wireless electric energy transmission systems were discussed. The performance characteristics were presented depending on several parameters in the three–dimensional form. The minimum quality factor of the resonance system, which allows the achievement of the high system performance at low interface between the primary and secondary coil winding was demonstrated. Two tested circuits were compared and the areas of application were determined for each of them. Difficulties related to maintenance of the circuit in resonance and to limitation of losses were determined.

Opis:
The loss of elastic energy to the medium can be quantified by the quality factor Q. Acoustic full waveforms log from Winna Góra1 borehole were used to estimate P-wave quality factor. Data used in this paper were analyzed with usage of GeoWin software. Interpretation of acoustic full waveforms was performed for the one pair of waveforms. The most important part in the interpretation of data is manual picking of P wave arrival, calculation of semblance function, and picking anomalies of P wave on amplitude spectrum. Using data from interpretation of acoustic full waveforms, we calculated quality factor. Based on provided analysis it is concluded that the highest attenuation ( so the lowest Q) is observed in Rotliegend strata.

Opis:
In this study, a series of destructive and non-destructive tests were performed on sandstone samples subjected to wetting-drying cycles. A total of 25 Wet-Dry cycles were provided to investigate any significant change in the engineering properties of sandstones in terms of their porosity, permeability, water absorption, density, Q-factor, elastic modulus (E), and unconfined compressive strength (UCS). The overall reduction in the values of density, E, Q-factor, and UCS was noted as 3-4%, 42-71%, 34-62%, and 26-70% respectively. Whereas, the overall appreciation in the values of porosity, permeability, and water absorption was recorded as 24-50%, 31-64%, and 25-50% respectively. The bivariate analysis showed that the physical parameters had a strong relationship with one another and their Pearson’s correlation value (R) ranged from 0.87-0.99. In prediction modeling, Q-factor and E were regressed with the contemplated physical properties. The linear regression models did not provide satisfactory results due to their multicollinearity problem. Their VIF (variance inflation factor) value was found much greater than the threshold limit of 10. To overcome this problem, the cascade-forward neural network technique was used to develop significant prediction models. In the case of a neural network modeling, the goodness of fit between estimated and predicted values of the Q-factor (R2 = 0.86) and E (R2 = 0.91) was found much better than those calculated for the Q-factor (R2 = 0.30) and E (R2 = 0.36) in the regression analysis.

Opis:
Consumers require high-speed data transmission for different activities, such as smartphone usage, live broadcasting of news, and video conferencing. Therefore, a reliable communication network is needed to provide this kind of service to users. Fiber to the home (FTTH) is an optical fiber architecture that uses fiber cables in the access network for direct and final connection to homes or offices of customers. Networks based on FTTH can offer high performance, speed, and quality. An optical fiber communication system based on FTTH device ingress network using gigabit passive optical networks (GPONs) with fiber Bragg grating (FBG) and optical amplifier is designed and analyzed in this study. The developed design based on the FTTH device and FBG shows a low bit error rate (BER) for downstream and upstream configurations with an optical fiber length of 20 km. Downstream and upstream configurations achieve a Q-factor of 89.5 and 181.3, respectively. Achievable sensitivity of the developed system is −28 dBm, while the received signal based on OptiSystem is −25.59 dBm. FTTH with FBG will play a major role in the future and provide effective solutions for a wide variety of applications in network communication systems and data transmission rates.

Parameterized wide-band geometry dependent SPICE models for oil-chip planar spiral inductors are developed in the paper. Model descriptions are presented in the form of PSpice model and in schematic view. The models are realized in the Cadence Capture and Cadence PSpice environment. The developed computer models can be used For adequate computer modeling and simulation of RF circuits. The geometry dependence of the model parameters allows geometry optimization and design automation of spiral inductors. The simulation results are compared to the measurement data for the model verification demonstrating the validity of the computer models.

Opis:
Pewna grupa odbiorników energii elektrycznej pobiera szybko zmienną w czasie moc bierną. Do takiej grupy należą obwody biurowe złożone z komputerów. Przedmiotem rozważań będzie zastosowanie 1-fazowego filtru aktywnego do kompensacji dynamicznych zmian mocy biernej. Do sterowania 1-fazowym filtrem aktywnym zostanie wykorzystany algorytm p-q. Rozważania zostaną poparte symulacjami przeprowadzonymi w środowisku MATLAB-Simulink.
A certain group of electrical power loads consumes fast time-varying reactive power. To this group belong office circuits containing computers. This circuit gets the reactive power with high dynamic changes at the level of minutes or seconds and fractions of seconds, making it impossible to efficiently compensate by compensators with standard battery based on capacitors. They need several to tens of seconds to switch between each sector of capacitor banks which directly results from the time required for their discharge. The subject of considerations will be the application of a one-phase active filter to compensate the dynamic changes of the reactive power. A modified pq algorithm will be used to control of the one-phase active filter. Considerations will be supported by simulations carried out in the MATLAB-Simulink environment.
