    In this paper, we expose pythagorean fuzzy sets in BCK-algebras. Also we define pythagorean fuzzy subalgebra, pythagorean fuzzy ideal in BCK-algebra and investigate some properties of these ideals. Some interesting examples are given. Homomorphism of pythagorean fuzzy set in BCK-algebras are introduce. Moreover we combine the pythagorean fuzzy set and rough sets in BCK-algebras. The concept of rough pythagorean fuzzy ideals in BCK-algebras are introduce.

    We present two sets of lessons on the history of mathematics designed for prospective teachers: (1) Euclid's Theory of Area, and (2) Euclid's Theory of Similar Figures. They aim to encourage students to think of mathematics by way of analysis of historical texts. Their historical content includes Euclid's Elements, Books I, II, and VI. The mathematical meaning of the discussed propositions is simple enough that we can focus on specific methodological questions, such as (a) what makes a set of propositions a theory, (b) what are the specific objectives of the discussed theories, (c) what are their common features. In spite of many years' experience in teaching Euclid's geometry combined with methodological investigations, we cannot offer any empirical findings on how these lectures have affected the students' views on what a mathematical theory is. Therefore, we can only speculate on the hypothetical impact of these lectures on students.

    Istnienie piękna w fizyce potwierdzają najwybitniejsi uczeni XX w. Nie wyjaśnia się jednak, jak odbiera się to piękno, i jak przebiega proces jego odkrywania. W artykule uzasadniono, nawiązując do sztuki - i to jest nowością - że występujące w naukach matematyczno-fizycznych, a więc także metrologii, wartości estetyczne odbiera się pośrednio i wyróżnia je czynnik intelektualno-logiczny. Po raz pierwszy przedstawiono piękno układu jednostek miar SI w świetle estetyki pitagorejskiej. Piękno w metrologii budzi podziw i można to wykorzystać w dydaktyce.
    There are many opinions propounded by prominent physicists of the XXth century that verify beauty in physics [1]. However, the process of discovering and perceiving beauty in the mathematical-physical sciences, therefore also in metrology, is not well defined [3, 10]. The paper by referring to the fine arts (and this is novelty), justifies that the phenomenon of aesthetics occurring in mathematical-physical sciences is perceived indirectly and distinguished by the intellectual-logical factor (p. 2 and 4, Fig. 3). Beauty can be relatively easily seen in the fine arts, but is much harder to discover it in the mathematical-physical sciences. The important properties of the SI, where the focus should be in search of aesthetic values have been presented [5, 7, 8] (p. 6). For the first time the beauty of the International System of Units in the light of Pythagorean aesthetics is presented (p. 8, Fig. 5). The beauty in the mathematical-physics sciences arouses admiration and this can be used e.g. in didactics to motivate students for in-depth knowledge of metrology (p. 9).

    The opening part of this paper presents the influences of Middle-Platonist philosophy discernible in the ontology presupposed in the Marsanes. These are particularly conspicuous in the hierarchical arrangement of reality. At the summit of the Universe there is Invisible God, second in the hierarchy comes Barbelo, the Mind, complete with the world of intellect (identified with Platonic ideas), then follows the Soul and the world of the sense perception, which is the reflection of ideas. The second part contains a discussion of the fragment NHC X 32, 12 - 33, 6. described in the literature as „Pythagorean”. The fragment contains reference to the two eternal principles: monas and dyas, as well as to the ten cosmogonical principles. In this context the question arises as to the relationship of the cosmogony assumed in this fragment and the one presupposed by the author of the Middle- Platonist exposition. Finally, it is concluded, that the Marsanes cosmogony is typical of its period in being a synthesis comprising themes drawn from ontology (and cosmology) of both: Neopythagoreanism and Middle-Platonism.

    In this paper, we investigate the multiple attribute decision making (MADM) problem based on the Hamacher aggregation operators with dual Pythagorean hesitant fuzzy information. Then, motivated by the ideal of Hamacher operation, we have developed some Hamacher aggregation operators for aggregating dual hesitant Pythagorean fuzzy information. The prominent characteristic of these proposed operators are studied. Then, we have utilized these operators to develop some approaches to solve the dual hesitant Pythagorean fuzzy multiple attribute decision making problems. Finally, a practical example for supplier selection in supply chain management is given to verify the developed approach and to demonstrate its practicality and effectiveness.

    In this paper, we investigate the multiple attribute decision making problems based on the Bonferroni mean operators with dual Pythagorean hesitant fuzzy information. Firstly, we introduce the concept and basic operations of the dual hesitant Pythagorean fuzzy sets, which is a new extension of Pythagorean fuzzy sets.     RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of this article is to analyze the ontic status of harmony in Pythagorean philosophy. THE RESEARCH PROBLEMS AND METHODS: The main problem undertaken in the article is an analysis of the ontic status of harmony in Pythagorean philosophy, conducted within the context of the theory of principles. The research method is based on an analysis of source texts. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The article begins with an analysis of passages from the works of Philolaus of Croton. Next, the treaty Peri archan attributed to Archytas of Tarentum is analyzed. The analysis of the source texts includes references to the main interpretative positions contained in the secondary literature. RESEARCH RESULTS: The most important result of the scientific analysis conducted here is the organization of the possible interpretations of the ontic status of harmony and indication of the main difficulties associated with them. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: In his conclusions, the author indicates interpretative possibilities resulting from the perspective taken in the article, as well as areas that require further study, concerning such issues as the relationship between Pythagorean and Orphic thought.

    The intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs) have a more significant contribution to describing and dealing with uncertainty. The intuitionistic fuzzy measure is a significant consideration in the field of IFSs theory. However, Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFSs) are an extension of the IFSs. PFSs are more capable of modelling uncertainties than IFSs in real-world decision-making scenarios. The majority of PFSs research has concentrated on establishing decision-making frameworks. A similarity measure is a key concept which measures the closeness of PFSs. IFSs-based similarity measures have been proposed in the literature. This type of similarity measure, however, has a drawback since it cannot satisfy the axiomatic definition of similarity by offering counter-intuitive examples. For this study, a similarity-based on logarithmic function for Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFSs) is proposed as a solution to the problem. A decision-making approach is presented to ascertain the suitability of careers for aspirants. Additionally, numerical illustration is applied to determine the strength and validity of the proposed similarity measures. The application of the proposed similarity measures is also presented in this article. A comparison of the suggested measures with the existing ones is also demonstrated to ensure the reliability of the measures. The results show that the proposed similarity measures are efficient and reasonable from both numerical and realistic assessments.

    The paper is a commentary to the Polish translation of the Elements Book II, included in this volume.We focus on relations between figures represented and not represented on diagrams and identify rules which enable Euclid to bridge these two kinds of objects. Also, we argue that the main mathematical problem addressed in Book II is constructing a leg of a rightangled triangle, given its hypotenuse and the other leg. In proposition II.14, Euclid solves it through the construction called the geometric mean. We trace the problem in Book III and beyond the Elements: in Heron’s Metrica, Descartes’ La Géométrie, and modern foundations of mathematics. We show that Descartes, by novel interpretation of the Pythagorean theorem, provides a modern solution to this problem.

    This paper collects and analyzes ancient sources that refer to Pythagoras of Samos as the founder of physiognomy. Interest in physiognomy, which deals with the relationship between the body and the spirit, has become more popular over the last few years; however, many aspects of research into the topic are still obscure and worthy of further study. Physiognomy was assumed by ancient authors to be the method by which candidates were selected to enter the Pythagorean community, used by the Greek philosopher and his followers. Information about Pythagoras, who – by simply looking at somebody – could recognize their character appears, in the works of Aulus Gellius, Hippolytus, Porphyry, Iamblichos, Proclos and Olympiodorus. Apart from discussing testimonia about Pythagoras and his physiognomic examinations, the text explores the role of physiognomy during the selection process for the Pythagorean community in order to provide a better understanding of elite traditions within society. The paper also supplies further insight with regards to the methodology behind physiognomical surveys, which were popular during antiquity.

    The paper sought to present one trend of the debate carried on within the confines of 20th-century history of science, i.e. the genesis of science. Among various trends of this debate we shall distinguish one that concerns the evaluation of the significance of the main traditions in Greek philosophy (Ionian, Pythagorean-Platonic) in the process of the constitution of science. The paper shows some solutions to this question that appear in the main trends of 20th--century history of science (externalism, internalism).
