The paper presents the algebra and declarative query language developed for fetal monitoring system MONAKO. At present, the system architecture is centralised. Recording, analyzing and visualization of data are carrying out in the central unit. Therefore, the system cannot scale in a simple manner. Presented solution enables to define query based on data streams that makes the updated answers currently available. Applying database management system that carries out its tasks based on presented assumptions enables the construction of monitoring system of distributed architecture

Opis:
Fetal monitoring system belongs to signal processing system class. The main functions of the system are signal acquisition from bedside monitors, on-line trace analysis and dynamic presentation of incoming data. Collected data set is controlled by centralised application. Relational database management system cannot process samples of high frequency biomedical signals on-line. Therefore, we decide to build our own data management system dedicated to stream processing that support continuous query. This paper describes a method of building a query plan based on proposed algebra. The presented example of application enables implementation of algorithm determining long- and short-term indices for fetal heart rate variability assessment on the basis of declarative query language. Our solution enables to define query based on data streams that make the updated answers currently available.

Assurance of data integrity is one of the prerequisites for each computer system. The paper presents a method enabling on-line maintenance of stream data set integrity. This method is implemented in a data stream management system prototype designed to find application in a biomedical monitoring system. In the case of medical computer systems assurance of data integrity is particularly important for documenting formal results and for the patient's safety.

The system described in this paper provides automated optical inspection of free-falling products. It was designed to inspect plastic nose pads for eyeglasses. The solutions relating to the integrated image acquisition and the processing and analysis techniques allow achieving high inspection efficiency. The system also assures the possibility of full archiving of the inspection results for further reference, processing or statistical analysis.
Opisany w artykule system automatycznej inspekcji optycznej przeznaczony jest do inspekcji jakości swobodnie spadających detali. Zrealizowano aplikację, w której inspekcji podlegają plastikowe noski do okularów. Zastosowane rozwiązania w zakresie akwizycji obrazów oraz technik przetwarzania i analizy umożliwiły uzyskanie dużej wydajności inspekcji. Opracowany system zapewnia również możliwość pełnego archiwizowania wyników inspekcji w celu późniejszego porównywania, przetwarzania czy analizy statystycznej.

Opis:
Results of pervaporation (PV) of sucrose and calcium chloride spent solutions were presented. Additionally, osmotic membrane distillation (OMD) of sucrose solutions was investigated. It was found that the regeneration of spent sucrose solution for the reuse is possible by using PV or OMD processes. However, OMD process produces another spent stream i.e. CaCl2. Pervaporation membranes showed fluxes in the range of 0.5 - 0.9 kg m^-2 h^-1 in contact with 40° Brix sucrose solution, whereas OMD water permeate fluxes were in the range of 4 - 5 kg m^-2 h^-1 for the same feed concentration. Two different hybrid processes were suggested: i) pretreatment followed by OMD reconcentration of spent sucrose solution and independently PV for CaCl2 regeneration; ii) membrane pretreatment (MP) followed by PV of sucrose solution. Based on the experimental results, the membrane areas for both systems were calculated and compared. MP-PV system seems to be a better solution for the spent mixtures management.

W artykule przedstawiono charakterystykę zautomatyzowanego systemu przeznaczonego do kontroli wizyjnej tabletek i kapsułek pakowanych w przezroczyste blistry. Inspekcja jakości pakowania obejmuje: wykrywanie braku tabletek w gnieździe lub ich nieprawidłowe ułożenie, wykrywanie tabletek o niewłaściwym kolorze lub wymiarach, wykrywanie zanieczyszczeń blistra oraz sprawdzenie prawidłowości oznakowania blistra. Omówiono właściwości podstawowych składników sprzętowych systemu. Zaprezentowano moduły programowe związane z projektowaniem nastaw systemu, tworzeniem nowych zadań inspekcji, a także wizualizacją przebiegu inspekcji w trybie automatycznym. Przedstawiono właściwości i parametry techniczne systemu. Opracowany system umożliwia pełną archiwizację nastaw oraz wyników inspekcji.
The system described in the paper provides automated optical inspection of tablets and capsules packed in transparent blisters. The packaging inspection includes: detection of tablets/capsules presence in nests, detection of improper position of tablets, detection of tablets which have improper color or size, detection of blister contaminations, and marking inspection of blisters. Features of basic hardware components of the system are discussed. Software modules related to projects of system settings, creation of new inspection tasks and visualization of the inspection stream in automatic mode are presented as well. Main features and technical data of the system are described. The system also assures the possibility of full archiving of the inspection settings and results.

W pracy przedstawiono obligatoryjne i nieobligatoryjne systemy zarządzania jakością (SZJ), stosowane w produkcji i przetwórstwie surowców rolniczych. Począwszy od wyjaśnienia istoty jakości i bezpieczeństwa produktów rolniczych, w sposób ogólny opisano główne idee poszczególnych standardów. Ponadto przedstawiono czynniki, wpływające na decyzje związane z wdrażaniem SZJ, uwzględniając pozytywne aspekty ich funkcjonowania i bariery w ich wdrażaniu. Najważniejszymi korzyściami z wdrożenia SZJ jest sprostanie wymogom prawnym, zaspokojenie potrzeby głównych klientów i pozyskanie nowych, poprawa jakości produktów i uzyskanie rekomendacji organizacji handlowych. Najpoważniejszymi zaś barierami są wysokie koszty jednostkowe, ponoszone na początku wdrażania standardów, potrzeba szkoleń oraz brak doradztwa w tym zakresie.
Paper presented obligatory and non-obligatory quality management systems (QMS), used in production and processing of agricultural products. Beginning from explanation of the quality essence and the safety of agricultural products, the main ideas of particular standards were described in general way. Moreover, the factors affecting decisions connected with the QMS implementation were presented, considering positive aspects of their functioning and the barriers in their introduction. The most important advantages resulted from the QMS implementation consist in coping with the legal requirements, satisfying the demands of principal customers and acquiring the new ones, improving the quality of products and getting the recommendations from commercial organizations. However, the most serious barriers include high unit costs born at the beginning of standards' implementation, the need of instruction courses and a lack of advisors in this particular field.

This paper focuses on the connection between cognitive psychology and foreign language pedagogy in the context of perception and processing of language structures. It describes second language acquisition as the processing of language information, which is influenced by attention focused on language data. The concept of instructed learning assumes the possibility of manipulating learners’ attention by the teacher. The paper provides a theoretical background referring to such issues and also examples of how this kind of knowledge can be used in the classroom.

The goal of research is to perform a cluster analisys of the Bulgarian meat industry from the point of view of the logistics development. In order to study the state and development of the meat industry logistics in Bulgarian meat processing organizations, a wide range of statistical and analytical methods are used (comparison, group average, graphical method, cluster analysis and others). The date processing in done by a computer program for statistical date processing - SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). The object of the industry is the meat processing companies in Bulgariq. According to the MFA Agro statictics for November 2010, the meat processing industry includes 65 factories for cutting red meat, 30 white meat slaughterhouses, 283 meat processing factories and the minced meat factories - meat preparations and mechanically separated meat, making a total of 378 companies in the industry. The result of the study show that logistics plays a vital role for the meat processing organizations, because of the growing demand for quality, price and speed of delivery of products. Successful management of logistics allows time saving through faster movement of information, details and products from one process to another.

Celem projektu realizowanego w Katedrze Automatyki jest stworzenie wydajnego narzędzia wspomagającego proces nadzoru przestrzeni i obiektów publicznych, w oparciu o automatyczną analizę obrazów cyfrowych. Przy założeniu szeroko pojętej ogólności zagrożeń, które mają być wykrywane, konstrukcja programu do automatycznego wspomagania nadzoru nie jest zagadnieniem trywialnym, ze względu na nieprzewidywalną wielowariantowość obserwowanych sytuacji. Opracowanie efektywnego systemu wymaga rozwiązania szeregu zagadnień, skomplikowanych od strony koncepcyjnej i trudnych w realizacji algorytmicznej. Zadaniem inteligentnego systemu wspomagania monitoringu jest wskazanie obsłudze systemu sytuacji potencjalnie podejrzanych z punktu widzenia przyjętych kryteriów bezpieczeństwa. W celu przezwyciężenia pojawiających się tu trudności tworzone są algorytmy, których działanie opiera się nie tylko na przetwarzaniu i analizie obrazów, ale także na próbach automatycznego rozumienia znaczenia obserwowanych scen, czyli imitowanych komputerowo elementach ludzkiego postrzegania i toku myślenia, związanego z ocenianym obrazem.
The aim of the project realized in the Department of Automatics is to create an efficient tool to support the process of surveillance of public spaces and buildings based on automated image analysis. Assuming a wide scope of applications of developed tools, the design of the program to automatically support surveillance tasks is not a trivial problem, due to unforeseen circumstances and non-predicted situation. Developing an effective surveillance system requires addressing a number of issues, that are conceptually complex and require research and implementation of advanced algorithms. The goal of an intelligent monitoring system is to identify potentially suspicious circumstances according to assumed safety criteria. In order to overcome arising here difficulties there are created algorithms whose operation is based not only on processing and analyzing images, but also on imitating a human perception and understanding of the analyzed images.

Requirements analysis is a highly critical step in software life-cycle. Our solution to the problem of managing requirements is an embedded domainspecific language with Clojure playing the role of the host language. Enhanced Traffic Management System (ETMS) stores all the information gathered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) from aircraft flying in the US airspace. The data stored from each flight includes the 4D trajectory (latitude, longitude, altitude and timestamp), radar data and flight plan information. Unfortunately, there is a data quality problem in the vertical channel and the altitude component of the trajectories contains some isolated samples in which a wrong value was stored. Overall, the data is generally accurate and it was found that only 0.3% of the altitude values were incorrect, however the impact of these erroneous data in some analyses could be important, motivating the development of a filtering procedure. The approach developed for filtering ETMS altitude data includes some specific algorithms for problems found in this particular dataset, and a novel filter to correct isolated bad samples (named Despeckle filter). As a result, all altitude errors were eliminated in 99.7% of the flights affected by noise, while preserving the original values of the samples without bad data. The algorithm presented in this paper attains better results than standard filters such as the median filter, and it could be applied to any signal affected by noise in the form of spikes.
