Opis:
The Customer Lifetime Value is crucial in every kind of economic activity as the customer is the good that brings profits to the companies. This is the main reason why entrepreneurs and managers should always think how to satisfy needs of its clients. One of markets, on which the customer value should be thoroughly analyzed is medicine. This article presents the theoretical basis of customer lifetime value management and tries to explain how it is being introduced on medical services market in Poland. As the health care in Poland seems to be on initial stage there is a lot of space for new, private medical centers to be set up. Majoroty of institution operates basing on concracts with National Health Fund (NFZ) and there are fully dependent from the amounts of money granted by the institution. It is renegotiated after certain period and there is always the risk of not winning it again. Unfortunately due to weaknesses of public health care system in Poland, many customers are disappointed with its quality and management form. In these conditions the private medicine services are improving. Unfortunately there is no possibility in choosing the form of health insurance (all are paying contribution to National Health Fund). In this case there is a hope for development of a competitive market, which would be certainly supported by private insurance. The artice is an introduction to deeper considerations regarding medicine in Poland and the effectiveness of managing medical centers (especially hospitals).

Opis:
It is commonly thought that breast cancer, like many other cancers, is an illness equivalent to a death sentence. Though this may be true in some cases, the majority of women diagnosed with breast cancer do survive this illness. Breast cancer is a growing illness and is continuing to affect women worldwide, including developing countries like South Africa. Furthermore, this country’s medical system operates in terms of a duality. Here, hospitals and healthcare are mainly situated in either state operated institutions or in privately run practices. This duality emphasizes the inequality within the socio-economic classes, treatment regimens, and ethic-of-care. This article deals with how women from the higher socio-economic stratum of the deeply polarized South Africa deal with breast cancer. The aim is to understand how each participant renegotiates and transforms her self-perception, her identity, and issues around femininity. In addition, the authors also seek to understand if this medical encounter influences the participants’ sense of embodiment, as well as how the medical encounter impacts on their everyday lifeworld.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The main goal of this explorative study is to investigate the public perception of private healthcare providers in Kurdistan region in Iraq. Moreover, the research aims to test the questionnaire and research technique (face-to-face) interviews in terms of their usefulness and adequacy for a further representative survey, which is planned in the upcoming years. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The research problem is to analyze patients’ perception and satisfaction from healthcare services offered by private hospitals in Kurdistan region of Iraq. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: Developing countries have an increasing difficulty in providing cheap and effective healthcare sector for the entire society. In this regard, the autonomous regions like Kurdistan are in a doublydisadvantaged position, as they have to overcome the problems of poor infrastructure, while designing a new health system, at the same time struggling with military conflict with ISIL. RESEARCH RESULT: The research result show surprising gaps in public knowledge about the private hospitals and their healthcare service quality. The study finds, among other, that the easiest way to improve patients’ satisfaction is to improve hygiene and cleaning standards in private hospitals. Although these findings are purely explorative, they should be taken into the account when designing a research project which should produce representative, reliable findings for the entire region. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: As there is no alternative to increase of the role of private providers in Kurdistan region, the regional authorities should monitor the quality of healthcare services offered by both public and private providers to ensure a reasonable standard of healthcare system. Thus, the further studies on healthcare market in Kurdistan should include comparisons between private and public providers.
