    Opis:
    BREXIT, the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU structures has become a turning point in the process of formation of (as it seemed) permanent upranational blocs of economic cooperation. It was the first time that the European Union as a sui generis first in the world supranational organisation was so explicitly questioned as a value in itself. The redefinition of values that took place in the United Kingdom may be connected with a turn towards the part of the “Anglosphere” known as CANZUK. The research hypothesis for the studies announced in this article is that this ideological turnaround will lead to gradual regional integration. The article presents the theoretical and methodological framework for conducting the planned studies, outlines the currently available sources, and maps out the directions for detailed analyses within the singled out research areas. The planned research fits into the area of political and law studies. As regards the first field, analysed will be efforts aimed at consolidating cooperation, and in the future – postulated integration. The research will be carried out from the perspective of Karl Deutsch’s communication theory. The theory emphasises substantiveness of nation states and the need for social integration before political integration, which is also the fundamental assumption underlying the postulates of both the supporters of Brexit, as well as the persons and entities postulating the construction of the CANZUK bloc. With the use of this theoretical perspective it will be possible to complement the research with analyses in the area of contemporary political thought indicating the axiological foundations for the construction of a community in the Anglosphere. In the latter area, analysed will be certain acts of public international law, such as e.g. Trans-Tasman Travel Arrangement. That act may be treated as a model solution as regards constructing an alternative mechanism for the freedom of movement of persons.

    The authors of this paper provide a critical analysis of the most prominent theoretical vehicles employed in studying differentiated integration in contemporary, post-Brexit Europe. They discuss the descriptive, explanatory, and interpretative potential of the selected theoretical approaches that are applied at the intersection of disintegration and European differentiation discourse. “The holy grail” of the theorising of the dynamic (and accelerating) processes of (dis)integration and differentiation remains undiscovered. Nevertheless, a constant search for theoretical explanation is needed in the in-depth analyses of the current state of the European Union.

    The fate of European citizens living in the United Kingdom was a key issue linked with Britain’s departure from the European Union. Official statistics show that some outflow has taken place, but it was no Brexodus. This article investigates Brexit’s impact within a theoretical (push–pull) framework using a survey of long-term Polish migrants in the UK (CAPI, N = 472, conducted in 2018). Our results show that the perception of Brexit as a factor discouraging migrants from staying in the UK was limited. Still, those with experience of living in other countries, those remitting to Poland, and those on welfare benefits, were more likely to find Brexit discouraging. However, many claimed that the referendum nudged them towards extending their stay instead of shortening it. In general, when asked about what encourages/discourages them from staying in the UK, the respondents mainly chose factors related to the job market. Therefore, we argue, in line with Kilkey and Ryan (2020), that the referendum was an unsettling event – but, considering the strong economic incentives for Polish migrants to stay in the UK, we can expect Brexit to have a limited influence on any further outflows of migrants, as long as Britain’s economic situation does not deteriorate.

    Wybory parlamentarne do Izby Gmin przeprowadzone 12 grudnia 2019 r. były przełomowym momentem w najnowszej historii politycznej Zjednoczonego Królestwa. Zakończyły one burzliwy okres w którym polityka brytyjska charakteryzowała się dużą niestabilnością i brakiem jednoznacznych decyzji. Przede wszystkim jednak zakończyły przedłużający się impas związany z pracami nad zakończeniem procesu wyjścia Zjednoczonego Królestwa z Unii Europejskiej (brexit). Można wprost uznać, że wynik wyborów z 2019 r. był zwieńczeniem referendum w sprawie członkostwa w UE z 2016 r. Rządzący Torysi, pod wodzą premiera Borisa Johnsona stanęli do wyborów pod hasłem „dokończyć brexit” (get brexit done). W efekcie wybory, spełniły rolę powtórnego, pośredniego referendum w sprawie brexitu. Zwyciężając w wyborach konserwatyści uzyskali mandat społeczny do dokończenia procesu opuszczenia Unii. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza genezy i przebiegu wyborów do Izby Gmin w 2019 r. oraz próba odpowiedzi na pytanie o konsekwencje wyników tych wyborów.
    The 12 December 2019 General Election was a turning point in the recent political his- tory of the United Kingdom. It ended one turbulent period in which British politics was characterized by high instability and indecision. Above all, it ended the extended dead- lock with the work on ending the exit of the United Kingdom of the European Union (Brexit). It is clear that the result of the 2019 General Election was the culmination of the 2016 referendum on EU membership. The ruling Tories led by Prime Minister Boris Johnson stood for the elections under the slogan “get Brexit done”. As a result, the elections met the criteria for a second, indirect Brexit referendum. By winning the elections, the conservatives obtained a public mandate to complete the process of leaving the EU. The purpose of this article is to analyze the genesis and course of the 2019 elections to the House of Commons and to attempt to answer the question about the consequences of the election results.

    While the search for the essence of truth has its ancient record, the concept of post-truth is the most modern one. The concept of post-truth means situations in which facts have less influence on shaping public opinion than emotions and personal beliefs. New media, in particular social media and digital society, are an important medium nolens volens shaping reality. The existence of the notion of post-truth in the discourse, above all politicians, political scientists and media people, is beyond doubt. However, the very nature of this phenomenon is seen differently. When I started writing the text, I asked myself the following research questions: What are the features that define post-policy? To what extent does the concept of truth refer to a new phenomenon, and to what extent is it a new term for the phenomenon that has always accompanied politics and elections? What is the specificity of new media and the digital generation? Do they play the role of determinants or are they just a medium for shaping the post-truth process? Are modern elections digital or more information warfare? Looking for answers to these research questions, I will examine two cases of campaigns: the British Brexit campaign and the American presidential campaign Clinton-Trump. The text also undertakes an analysis of the post-truth phenomenon in the information war that has been taking place in eastern Ukraine since 2014.
    O ile poszukiwanie istoty prawdy ma swoją starożytną metrykę, to pojęcie postprawdy jest jak najbardziej pojęciem współczesnym. Wyrosło ono z XVIII-wiecznej apoteozy rozumu i odrzucenia prawd objawionych oraz XX-wiecznego postmodernistycznego podejścia, które odrzuca obiektywność prawdy. W warunkach demokratycznego społeczeństwa powoduje to równoważność różnych opinii. Pojęcie postprawdy oznacza sytuacje, w której fakty mają mniejszy wpływ na kształtowanie opinii publicznej niż emocje oraz osobiste przekonania. Ważnym nośnikiem nolens volens kształtującym rzeczywistość postprawdy są nowe media, a w szczególności media społecznościowe. Celem artykułu jest przeanalizowanie wpływu pojęcia postprawdy oraz nowych mediów na świat polityki. Tekst składa się z dwóch części. W pierwszej postaram się opisać kwestie związane z pojęciami postprawdy i nowych mediów oraz ich wpływem na kształtowanie opinii publicznej. W kolejnej postaram się ukazać zmiany, jakie wywołały zjawisko postprawdy w świecie polityki. Odwołam się tu zarówno do kwestii brytyjskiego głosowania w sprawie Brexitu, ostatnich wyborów prezydenckich w Stanach Zjednoczonych oraz konfliktu na Ukrainie jako przykładu wojny informacyjnej.
