    Opis:
    The Belt and Road Initiative is a key project for Chinese foreign policy, using integration processes taking place in the global economy. The purpose of the article is an attempt to answer the question: would Poland be able to play a more significant role in the strategically important for China Central and Eastern Europe? According to the authors, the strategy requires parallel actions on many fronts: care for the quality of the Polish-Chinese relations is important due to the growing role of China in the global economy, but Poland should not break political and economic ties with traditional partners. The EU is a key economic partner for Poland, with the leading role of the German economy. However, it should skillfully use foreign investments that can serve to strengthen and deepen links with the economy worldwide, and not just with the nearest neighbors. Poland seems a natural place to create, among others, central transshipment hub (Central Communication Port) for this part of Europe.
    Inicjatywa Pasa i Szlaku jest projektem kluczowym dla chińskiej polityki zagranicznej, wykorzystującym procesy integracyjne dokonujące się w globalnej gospodarce. Celem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie: czy Polska mogłaby pełnić bardziej znaczącą rolę w strategicznie ważnej dla Chin centralnej i wschodniej części Europy? Zdaniem autorów, strategia wymaga działania równoległego na wielu frontach. Dbałość o jakość stosunków polsko-chińskich jest ważna ze względu na rosnącą rolę Chin w gospodarce światowej, ale Polska nie powinna zrywać więzów politycznych i ekonomicznych z tradycyjnymi partnerami. UE jest kluczowym partnerem gospodarczym dla Polski, z wiodącą rolą gospodarki niemieckiej. Natomiast powinna umiejętnie korzystać z inwestycji zagranicznych, które mogą służyć umocnieniu i pogłębieniu powiązań z gospodarką światową, a nie tylko z najbliższymi sąsiadami. Polska wydaje się naturalnym miejscem do stworzenia m.in. centralnego hubu przeładunkowego(Centralnego Portu Komunikacyjnego) dla tej części Europy.

    Opis:
    Presented paper discusses well-being of Chinese university students in the context of mental health issues arising on many campuses around China. The analysis focuses on self-esteem and cultural values of Chinese students in comparison with their Polish colleagues. The discussed data was collected in SUSTech, one of the developing universities in the southern part of China and in Poland. Mental health of university students has major implications for, still developing, campus health services.
    В статье обсуждается благополучие студентов китайских университетов в контексте проблем психического здоровья, возникающих во многих университетских город- ках по всему Китаю. В центре внимания анализа – самооценка и культурные ценно- сти китайских студентов по сравнению с их польскими коллегами. Рассматриваемые данные были собраны в SUSTech – одном из развивающихся университетов южной части Китая, а также в Польше. Психическое здоровье студентов университетов имеет серьезные последствия для служб здравоохранения кампуса, которые все еще развиваются.

    Until today, research about the education systems for students with intellectual disabilities has focused on how special education is organised for students who need specialist assistance. Available studies most often describe the education systems in the countries neighbouring Poland, in economically developed countries or in countries which have implemented innovative solutions unknown to other countries, into their educational policies. Poland draws from these types of solutions. It is impossible to describe, in one article, all the education systems for students with mild or severe intellectual disabilities in use around the world. The following two criteria for the selection of countries and their models or systems of education for students with intellectual disabilities were taken into account: (1) two largest countries with regards to population size and economic and financial development, namely the U.S. and China, referring to the educational system for students with intellectual disabilities in Poland; (2) significant differences but also similarities in special education systems and their services for students with intellectual disabilities in the U.S. and China in relation to Poland’s models of special education.

    Foreign economic policy of the PRC

    Opis:
    The article is focused on fundamental factors of PRC’s foreign economic policy, against the background of long-term growth tendencies of its economy. In particular, quantitative and qualitative changes have been shown to take place in trade, with a particular emphasis on the role of the foreign direct investments and importance of the first half of the 80s, as a key period for establishment of the foundations of PRC’s economy transformations. In the article, the sources of these tendencies have been shown, which result both from internal conditions of the economic development and external ones, particularly following changing realities of the world economy. An evolutionary approach to the foreign economic policy has been stressed as a primary feature of the PRC’s international economic relations. Poland’s position on PRC’s market depends on our ability of satisfying market requirements in the field of quality and modernity, as well as scale and punctuality of supplies. It will be also determined by our participation in different forms of industrial corporation, especially in the form of foreign direct investment.

    The article discusses, on the one hand, three stages of developing views about race and superiority of European civilization reflected in the second half of the 19th century in aggressive social-Darwinism of positivists, and on the other it confronts racial generalizations with nation-centered thinking, which played an extremely important role in identity discourse of the Poles. On the example of China and the Siberian-Chinese borderland, it can be noticed that perception of geography and the ethnic diversity in the world through the prism of great historiosophical and racial constructions is manifested in quite widespread adaptation of orientalizing language of the hegemon speaking about backwardness, lack of maturity for modernization and definite supremacy of Europe, while resistance to the oppression of the partitioners, and more broadly to the colonial policy of the European powers allows in Poland, contemptuously called Halb-Asien, like in the case of Indians and Boers, creating a kind of auto-colonial identification with the seemingly “exotic” nation.
