Opis:: In todays advanced society, there is rising concern for data privacy and the diminution thereof on the internet. I argue from the position that for one to enjoy privacy, one must be able to effectively exercise autonomous action. I offer in this paper a survey of the many ways in which persons autonomy is severely limited due to a variety of privacy invasions that come not only through the use of modern technological apparatuses, but as well simply by existing in an advanced technological society. I conclude that regarding the majority of persons whose privacy is violated, such a violations are actually initiated and upheld by the users of modern technology themselves, and that ultimately, most disruptions of privacy that occur are self-levied.

Opis:: Stanisław Lem is mostly known as a sci-fi writer and not widely perceived as a visionary of the cyber age, despite the fact that he foresaw the future of information technology better than most scientific experts. Indeed, his visions of future information-based societies have proved to be remarkably accurate. Lem’s stories fuse together elements of fantasy, philosophy, and science, but what we can really learn from them is the nature of humanity, technology, and philosophy, as well as the values of technological prophecies. Moreover, Lem gave birth to, without naming it as such, the concept of philosophy in technology, which is a perspective on technology and philosophy that explores the deep implicit philosophical foundations of technology and humanity.

Opis:: There have been two trends in the study of technology. On the one hand, critics of technology have emphasised the threats stemming from the development and use of advanced machines and devices, while on the other hand, there has been admiration for the successes brought by progress. The article presents an attempt to put this complex issue in order. Based on the analysis formulated by Andrew Feenberg, the text discusses four concepts of technology. The first of them is technical determinism, according to which technology in its development is independent of circumstances external to it. The second is substantive theory, in which technology is seen as an autonomous, independent force that dominates and subordinates everything. The third position is instrumentalism, which considers technique as a neutral tool, while moral evaluation can only concern whether it has been used well or badly. The last approach is constructivism, according to which technology is shaped by the influence of various interest groups.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza zestawu zasad uzgodnionych na międzynarodowej konferencji w Asilomar ze stycznia 2017 roku dotycząca rozwoju sztucznej inteligencji. Sygnatariuszami porozumienia są czołowi badacze tematyki związanej z transhumanizmem, ale także przedstawiciele koncernów z sektora hi-tech. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie założeń stojących za deklarowanym szkicem norm, mających na celu wytworzenie tzw. Przyjaznej sztucznej inteligencji oraz ich praktycznych konsekwencji.

The article presents the problem of responsibility in the philosophy of technology. The author analyzes the problem of the place and role of the concept of responsibility in contemporary philosophy and its presentation in the philosophy of R.Ingarden. Then he analyzes the role and place of the ethical issues in the philosophy of technology. In the second part of the article the author analyzes the concept of responsibility as it is emerging in today's rapidly evolving world of technology on the example of the concept of H. Jonas.

The article is showing the principles of responsibility and security, that are connected with the idea of sustainability and the conditions for the realization of those principles in science and technology.
