    Artykuł prezentuje Performance Philosophy – organizację badawczą, powstałą na bazie studiów performatywnych. Autorską tezą opiniującą szeroko zakrojoną działalność jest stwierdzenie, iż organizacja ta, z jej specyficznym polem badawczym (interakcyjność filozofii i performansu), może być uznana za szczególnie pogłębianą dziś dziedzinę wiedzy. Nadto, specyfiką PP jest wykorzystywanie metod teoretycznych oraz (czasem w większym stopniu) praktycznych; to zaś przyczynia się do popularności i żywego zainteresowania uczestników współczesnej kultury, filozofii i sztuki. Na ile organizacja ta jest jedynie modą współczesnej postawy, trendów kultury – pokażą przyszłe aplikacje wyników poszukiwań badaczy profesjonalistów, a także nieprofesjonalistów, czyli wpływających na kształt wiedzy i kultury praktyków, zwłaszcza sztuk performatywnych.
    The paper presents Performance Philosophy – a research organization, created on the basis of studies of performing. Author claims that granted the wide-ranging activities of the organization and its specific field of research (philosophy interactivity and performance art), it can be regarded as a specialized discipline. Moreover, the specificity of PP is in the use of theoretical methods, and (sometimes more) practical; and this contributes to the popularity and the active interest of participants in contemporary culture, philosophy and art. The organization is fashionable in contemporary attitudes, cultural trends only the future applications will show the results of research investigators professionals and non-professionals, which affect the shape of knowledge and culture practitioners, especially the performing arts.

    This essay presents Jay Wright’s play Lemma as a historiographical challenge and also as a piece of idiorrhythmic American theater. Consonant with his life’s work of poetry, dramatic literature, and philosophical writing, Lemma showcases Wright’s expansive intellectual framework with which he constructs vivid, dynamic, and complex visions of American life. The “America” conjured here is steeped in many traditions, traditions typically kept distinct by academic discourse, such as West African cosmology, Enlightenment philosophy, jazz music theory, Ancient Greek theater, neo-Baroque modifications of Christian theology, pre-Columbian indigenous ways of knowing, etymological connections between Spanish and Gaelic, the materiality of John Donne’s poetry, and the lives of enslaved Africans in the New World. What is the purpose of Wright’s theatrical conjuration? How do we approach a text with such a diverse body of intellectual and literary sources? The author answers these questions and ends with a call to treat Lemma as a much needed point of view that opens lines of sight into Black and American theater far outside the well-worn territory of the Black Arts Movement.
    Esej przedstawia sztukę Jaya Wrighta Lemma jako wyzwanie historiograficzne, a także jako dzieło idiorytmicznego teatru amerykańskiego. Spójna z dorobkiem poetyckim, dramatycznym i filozoficznym Wrighta Lemma odsłania szerokie intelektualne horyzonty poety, które pozwalają mu skonstruować żywą, dynamiczną i złożoną wizję amerykańskiego życia. Wyczarowaną w jego sztuce „Amerykę” przenika wiele tradycji, które zazwyczaj oddziela się od siebie w dyskursie akademickim: zachodnioafrykańska kosmologia, filozofia oświeceniowa, teoria jazzu, starożytny teatr grecki, neobarokowe modyfikacje chrześcijańskiej teologii, prekolumbijskie autochtoniczne sposoby poznania, etymologiczne związki hiszpańskiego i gaelickiego, materialność poezji Johna Donne’a oraz życie zniewolonych Afrykanów w Nowym Świecie. Jaki jest cel teatralnego sztukmistrzostwa Wrighta? Jak podejść do tekstu o tak różnorodnych źródłach intelektualnych i literackich? Autor odpowiada na te pytania i podsumowuje wywód postulatem, by traktować Lemmę jako bardzo potrzebny punkt widzenia, z którego można zobaczyć czarny i amerykański teatr poza dobrze znanym terytorium Black Arts Movement.

    Opis:
    Aim. The aim of the article is to present the pedagogical potential of the puppet performance “Odd and Luna” staged in Wroclaw Puppet Theatre. The performance is interpreted from the philosophy of dialogue’s point of view, focused mainly on the philosophy of Polish philosopher Józef Tischner. Methods.The plot and the main theme of the performance – the otherness, loneliness and meeting the Other as a way of overcoming one’s own lack of self-confidence and fear of being different – are described and analysed. The contents of the performance are studied in order to find in its significant categories present in philosophy of dialogue: “the Other”, “the face”, “the meeting”, “the speech”/ “the word” and “the dialogue” Results and conclusion. The article shows that such difficult subject as otherness on the one hand and being different on the other, can be shown and discussed within a stage performance as a relatively easy way of transferring to the children the values and demands of social life like openness to differences, openness to dialogue and relations, willingness of meeting Other and building one’s own identity and self-confidence. Mentioned above characteristics seem quite important in Polish increasingly diversifying society.

    The thinking about the idea, forms and practices of communitas has developed a specific discourse in political philosophical writing since the 1980s. This paper retraces the ways in which Jean-Luc Nancy established a “community of writing [and] the writing of community,” how in his view community compears with philosophical writing. Taking Nancy’s discussion as a ground line, the author modulates the perspective on writing—as both text and practice—and focuses on the confrontation with community in reading. By poetologically tackling Nancy’s essay “The Confronted Community” (2001), she investigates into the text’s performing of community and the affective interaction between text and corporeality. Her reading of Nancy’s writing thus activates not only its ecstatic valences leading towards the proposed community of those who have no community; it also uncovers the aesthetic, social and political implications that emanate from Nancy’s writing in this situated reading. Therefore, this paper analytically retraces the textual micro-performances of community in writing as a performative confrontation entailed in reading.
    Rozważania dotyczące idei, form i praktyk communitas tworzą od lat osiemdziesiątych XX wieku osobny dyskurs filozoficznopolityczny. Artykuł jest refleksją nad tym, w jaki sposób Jean-Luc Nancy ustanawia „wspólnotę pisania [i] pisanie wspólnoty”, jak w jego ujęciu wspólnota „współ-zjawia się” z pisarstwem filozoficznym. Wychodząc od refleksji Nancy’ego, autorka modyfikuje spojrzenie na pisanie – zarówno jako tekst, jak i praktykę – by skupić się na konfrontacji ze wspólnotą w czytaniu. Poprzez poetologiczny rozbiór eseju La Communauté affrontée (2001) bada tekstualną inscenizację wspólnoty i afektywną interakcję między tekstem a cielesnością. Jej osobista lektura nie tylko aktywizuje ekstatyczny potencjał pisarstwa Nancy’ego prowadzący ku postulowanej wspólnocie tych, którzy nie mają wspólnoty, lecz także ujawnia jego estetyczne, społeczne i polityczne implikacje. Artykuł analitycznie rekonstruuje zatem tekstualne mikroperformanse wspólnoty w pisaniu jako performatywną konfrontację wpisaną w czytanie.
