    Internal logistics is a key element of a production process as it specifies product quality, timeliness and value of orders. The purpose of the research was to determine the amount of non-compliance in the selected production process caused by internal logistics operations. The analysis covers both the quantity and type of non-compliance as well as the cost of non-compliance. One of the basic quality management tools was used in the research - Parteo-Lorenz analysis. An attempt was made to identify potential causes of non-compliance. The significant impact of non-compliance arising in internal logistics operations in production costs was pointed out.

    In the article was presented the results of analysis of the nonconformities which occur during the production of PET bottles in the selected company from Poland. The analysis included six process unit operations of forming PET bottles. The aim of the analysis is to present specific corrective and improvement actions based on the results obtained. The article presents a short description of the process of shaping PET bottles for six selected operations. The block diagram of the PET bottle shaping process is presented. Quality management tools were used for quantitative and qualitative analysis. The use of the Pareto-Lorenz diagram allowed for quantitative an approach to the quality problems of PET bottles. The Ishikawa diagram was used to identify potential causes of the most frequent problem. Corrective actions were proposed to improve the quality of PET bottles tested. The research problem has been solved. As a critical element requiring improvement, the competences of employees and the process of operating machines and devices were indicated.

    Every company must ensure that the production process proceeds without interferences. Within this article, the author uses the term “interferences” in reference to unplanned stoppages caused by breakdowns. Unfortunately, usually due to machine operators’ mistakes, machines break, which causes stoppages thus generating additional costs for the company. This article shows a cause and effect analysis of a breakdown in a production process. The FMEA as well as quality management tools: the Ishikawa diagram and Pareto chart were used for the analysis. Correction measures were presented which allowed for a significant reduction in the number of stoppages caused by breakdowns.

    The main focus was to reduce defects in production lines of a newly started crackers manufacturing company as well as develop such a system so that mass defects can’t happen again. To ensure a rated benefit & make the market value constant in the market an efficient system is one of the primary requirements. The prime qualities must be constant. So, to ensure that the causes of defects will not happen again the root-cause analysis has been done from the record of check sheet. Then all the errors from vital elements of production were detected and actual parameters, ingredient composition, temperature, pressure, steam supply etc. have been tried to maintain constantly. The co-operation of top to bottom hierarchy made this process successful & also able to build a permanent preventive system. Finally, a stable & reliable production system has been established to maintain target production and achieve maximum benefit ensuring excellent quality of product.

    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie praktycznego zastosowania diagramu Pareto w zarządzaniu jakością wybranego procesu produkcyjnego. Pierwsza część opracowania zawiera podsumowanie badań literaturowych z zakresu jakości oraz charakterystykę diagramu Pareto: historię powstania zasady Pareto, celowość wykorzystania, obszary zastosowania, etapy tworzenia diagramu Pareto-Lorenza, związek diagramu z metodą ABC oraz zalety korzystania z tego narzędzia w zarządzaniu jakością. Następnie, przedstawione zostało praktyczne zastosowanie diagramu Pareto-Lorenza wraz z metodą ABC w analizie wybranego problemu: przyczyn niskiej jakości produktu – czekolady mlecznej.
    The objective of the article is to present the practical application of the Pareto diagram in quality management for chosen production process. The first part of the analysis contains the theoretical framework of quality and characteristic of the Pareto diagram: the history of Pareto principle, purposefulness of use, areas of application, the stages of creating Pareto-Lorenz diagram, relationship of the diagram with the ABC method and its advantages. Afterwards, the Pareto-Lorenz diagram with ABC method’s practical application in analysis of the chosen problem: causes of low quality of milk chocolate has been presented.

    The main focus of this paper is to integrate the application of Total Quality Management & Kaizen in improvement of Engineering students. Most Engineering students get depressed when they can’t understand the topics & fail to cut a good figure in the semester final exam as well as there CGPA becomes poor. 80-90% students blame the curriculum & system but it is not easy to change the system rapidly. The irony is, in Bangladesh most of the time is spent to memorize books for good academic performance. The Engineering Education Curriculum is mainly memorizing based. Students have to learn a lot of theory & write them in the exam as given in reference books to get good marks. This system makes students bookish & discourages them from creativity & innovation. The evaluation system in this educational system only represents how much a student spends time for academic studies not the creativity, intelligence, passion & dedication etc. This makes frustrated who are involved in innovative projects, research or contests. Without creativity & innovation it is not possible to advance the science & technology which is the main purpose of Engineering. In this research a structured & detailed process of TQM & Kaizen has been discussed & showed which is suitable to achieve which goal. One is for determining & analyzing problems & another is one of the best process to achieve a satisfactory outcome in academic & professional development process.

    Opis:
    The FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) method consists in analysis of failure modes and evaluation of their effects based on determination of cause-effect relationships for formation of possible product or process defects. Identified irregularities which occur during the production process of piston castings for internal combustion engines were ordered according to their failure rates, and using Pareto-Lorenz analysis, their per cent and cumulated shares were determined. The assessments of risk of defects occurrence and their causes were carried out in ten-point scale of integers, while taking three following criteria into account: significance of effects of the defect occurrence (LPZ), defect occurrence probability (LPW) and detectability of the defect found (LPO). A product of these quantities constituted the risk score index connected with a failure occurrence (a so-called “priority number,” LPR). Based on the observations of the piston casting process and on the knowledge of production supervisors, a set of corrective actions was developed and the FMEA was carried out again. It was shown that the proposed improvements reduce the risk of occurrence of process failures significantly, translating into a decrease in defects and irregularities during the production of piston castings for internal combustion engines.

    W artykule została omówiona analiza wad procesu konfekcjonowania miodu. Analizę przeprowadzono w oparciu o dane udostępnione przez przedsiębiorstwo zajmujące się przetwórstwem i konfekcjonowaniem miodu. Do przeprowadzenia analizy zastosowano wybrane narzędzia jakości: analiza Lorentza-Pareto, diagram Ishikawy i metoda 5Why. W efekcie, zidentyfikowano najważniejsze wady w procesie przetwórstwa i konfekcjonowania miodu oraz przyczyny ich powstawania. Ponadto, zaproponowano działania naprawcze w celu doskonalenia jakości procesu.
    In the article a fragment of the analysis of defects in the process of packaging of honey was described. The analysis was based on data provided by the enterprise engaged in the processing and packaging of honey. Selected quality tools: Pareto analysis, Ishikawa diagram and method 5Why were used for analysis. As a result, major defects in the processing and packaging of honey and their causes were identified. Moreover, corrective actions to improve the quality of the process were proposed.

    In the chapter concepts of quality and production were presented. The production-service plant, which is engaged in production frame slats of about 300 designs and colours, of high quality, for frame plants, glass and art galleries, was characterized. These slats are made of wood and ecologically sound materials. The production process of the frame slat depicted technologically was presented. With the use of the Pareto-Lorenz diagram, a hierarchy of nonconformities occurring during the manufacturing process of wooden frame was made. It was indicated that the most frequent nonconformities of the wooden frame are: elements soiled with glue, dirty slat and different colours of individual parts of the frame.

    In the article there were presented chosen method associated with statistical control of production processes. Mainly focused on control cards and Pareto-Lorenz analysis. Showed method were implemented to analysis production process stability of hearing aids in X company (the brand name don’t give because date of production is secret). Researches were made few months after new assembly lines starts-up. Main aim of researches was defects types identification occurred in production process and determine the scale of effect. Finally received results were satisfactory, i.e. despite of occurred errors, control cards analysis showed that production process of BTE-type (Behind-The-Ear) hearing aids was stable.
    W artykule przedstawione zostały wybrane metody związane ze statystycznym sterowaniem procesami produkcyjnymi. Głównie skupiono się na kartach kontrolnych i analizie Pareto-Lorenza. Wskazane metody zastosowano do analizy stabilności procesu produkcji aparatu słuchowego firmy X (nazwy firmy nie podano ze względu na poufność danych produkcyjnych). Badania przeprowadzono w kilka miesięcy od uruchomienia linii produkcyjnej. Celem badań była identyfikacja rodzajów wad występujących w procesie produkcji oraz określenie skali tego zjawiska. Ostatecznie otrzymano wyniki zadowalające, tj. pomimo występujących błędów, analiza kart kontrolnych p wykazała, że proces produkcji aparatu słuchowego typu BTE (ang. Behind-The-Ear) był stabilny.

    W opracowaniu przedstawiono koncepcję zarządzania jakością z wykorzystaniem metody Pareto-Lorenza umożliwiającej określenie kierunków działań zmierzających do poprawy poziomu jakości wyrobów na przykładzie walcowni zimnej blach. Koncepcja oceny oparta o diagram Pareto-Lorenza jest mało kosztowna i łatwa do zastosowania. Poprzez obniżenie poziomu wyrobów wadliwych przyczynia się do poprawy systemu zarządzania. W przypadku braku satysfakcjonujących wyników dotyczących jakości produkowanych blach należy dokonać oceny zdolności procesu produkcyjnego na podstawie zaproponowanych wskaźników. Zaproponowane podejście i sposób oceny mogą znaleźć również zastosowanie w odniesieniu do wybranych elementów, np. w układach sieciowych, liniach technologicznych i złożonych obiektach technicznych.
    The paper presents the proposal and the results of statistic experiments of quality control. The Pareto-Lorenz analysis used to control the quality of rolling plates in a cold rectifying process was economic and facilitated the improvement of the management system of quality assessment. The indexes proposed in the article facilitated an estimate of the ability of production processes of complex technical objects.

    Rozważano możliwość wykorzystania narzędzi programu Excel w statystycznej kontroli jakości procesu produkcji oraz w nauczaniu tej metody kontroli jakości. Analizę możliwości programu przeprowadzono zarówno pod kątem wykorzystania jego standardowych funkcji, jak też opracowania makr, szablonów arkuszy dla danych pomiarowych oraz instrukcji.
    Paper considered the possibilities of applying the Excel programme to statistical control of production process quality as well as in teaching of this quality control method. The programme was analyzed in respect of its standard functions as well as of the macros’ elaboration, data collection sheet patterns and instructions.
