Opis:: The article describes a project concerned with deploying PLC technology in railway light signals. The proposal increases reliability of communication between railway light signals and the railway automation center, relying on frame retransmissions instead of the FEC technique. The paper presents the results of long-term FER measurements performed in a narrowband PLC-based communication system. The said results are used as communication reliability metrics. Deployment of dual channels in order to increase communication reliability is discussed as well, as is eﬃciency of FEC-based convolutional coding. The results are veriﬁed in a real world environment.

Opis:: This article concerns modeling of statistical properties of OFDM signals with the help of “normalized Gaussian” model, proposed by Kotzer et al. In this paper there is provided an extended formulation of the model, supplemented by an expression for probability density, extending possible applications of the model in theoretical works. Numerical results for verification of the model are provided and a more accurate alternative is suggested.

Opis:: In the paper, a concept of Additive Fuzzy Noise (AFN) channel is introduced. The theoretical equations are derived for Bit Error Rate (BER) and Symbol Error Rate (SER) with some digital modulation scheme in the AFN channel. Following modulations are considered: Phase Shift Keying (16PSK), Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (16QAM). The fuzzy approach to these modulations is presented. The BER and SER values are calculated using possibility theory. The results obtained by fuzzy noise model are compared with conventional approach, where probability models of the noise are used.
