Opis:
Contemporary Catholic shrines in addition to religious activities are also entities conducting business activities. It is required in those activities to read and produce value for the customer. Visitors to the pilgrimage centers expect from those who manage the shrines professional delivering of the derived benefits and costs born in the process of purchase and use of products and services. It has been proved by surveys undertaken in five Polish shrines which conduct wide business activities. The pilgrims accept the use of economic tools to manage the religious centre. However, the studies have shown that knowledge of the quality of business management is still not an important measure for choosing the shrine. The pilgrims, however, would like to have their donation well used by those who are in charge of the religious centre.

Deltorphin I (Tyr-d-Ala-Phe-Asp-Val-Val-Gly-NH_2) and dermorphin (Tyr-d-Ala-Phe- -Gly-Tyr-Pro-Ser-NH_2) are natural opioid peptides that have been isolated from the skin of South American frogs [1]. The presence of d-amino acid is crucial for their biological activity. The synthetic analogs of given heptapeptides containing l-alanine are not analgesics [2]. Analysis of the influence of stereochemistry on molecular packing, dynamics and biological functions of neuropeptides is still important for receptor studies and practical applications (e.g. design of new selective pain killers). Presented research is focused on the structure and dynamics of two N-terminal sequences of dermorphin: tripeptide Tyr-d-Ala-Phe 1, tetrapeptide Tyr-D-Ala-Phe-Gly 2, and their analogs with l-alanine: Tyr-Ala-Phe 3 and Tyr-Ala-Phe-Gly 4, using solid state NMR and X-ray diffraction. This study clearly demonstrates that 1 and 2 crystallized under different conditions to form exclusively one structure [3, 4]. In contrast, tripeptide and tetrapeptide with l-Ala in the sequence very easily form different crystal modifications. Tyr-Ala-Phe 3 crystallizes into two forms: 3a and 3b [5], while Tyr-Ala-Phe-Gly 4 gives three modifications: 4a, 4b and 4c [4]. It seems that one of the factors, which can be important in the preorganization mechanism anticipating the formation of crystals, is the intramolecular CH-đ interaction between aromatic rings of tyrosine and/or phenylalanine and the methyl group of alanine. Such interaction is possible only for d-Ala residue. For l-Ala in the peptide sequence, the methyl group is aligned on the opposite side with respect at least to one of the aromatic groups. It can be further speculated that such internal CH-π contacts can also occur during the interaction of ligand–receptor, making the message sequence of opioid peptides more rigid and finally selective. By employing different NMR experiments (e.g. PISEMA MAS and PILGRIM) it was proven that the main skeleton of analyzed peptides is rigid, whereas significant differences in the molecular motion of the aromatic residues were observed [4, 6]. Solid state 2H NMR spectroscopy of samples with deuterium labeled aromatic rings: Tyrd4-d-Ala-Phe 5, Tyr-d-Ala-Phed5 6, Tyrd4-Ala-Phe 7, Tyr-Ala-Phe^d5 8 was used to analyze the geometry and time scale of the molecular motion. At ambient temperature, the tyrosine ring of sample 5 is rigid and in the sample 6 the phenylalanine ring undergoes a "π -flip". The tyrosine rings of form I of 7 and 8 are static, while the phenylalanine rings of form II of 7 and 8 undergo a fast regime exchange [6]. Variable temperature 2H measurements proved that the tyrosine and phenylalanine rings of two forms of compounds 7 and 8 became more mobile with increasing temperature. In contrast, the aromatic rings of samples 5 and 6 preserve their dynamics regime (static tyrosine and "π -flip" phenylalanine) in a large range of temperatures [6]. The analysis of 13C, 15N labeled tetrapeptide Tyr-D-Ala-Phe-Gly 2’-phospholipid membrane interactions suggests that peptide 2’ is aligned on the surface of the membrane (RFDR MAS) and the sandwich-like π -CH_3-π arrangement of the pharmacophore is preserved (DARR) [7].

Tourism centered on pilgrimages to religious sites in Slovakia, the target groups being individuals, family, youth seniors, etc., promotes the spiritual, cultural and educational growth of those who partake of it. But, more importantly, this trade in tourism promotes the regional economy in terms of tourism thereby promoting the growth of the whole country. The objective of this paper is to examine pilgrimage sites, highlight their importance with regards to ecumenical, cultural and economic aspects.
Turystyka obecnie koncentruje się na pielgrzymkach do miejsc kultu religijnego na Słowacji, grupami docelowymi są osoby, rodziny, młodzież, seniorzy itp., promuje duchowy, kulturalny i edukacyjny rozwój tych, którzy stanowią części tych grup. Ale co ważniejsze, handel w turystyce promuje regionalną gospodarkę w zakresie turystyki a co za tym idzie, promuje w ten sposób rozwój całego kraju. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zbadanie miejsc pielgrzymkowych, podkreślenie ich znaczenia w odniesieniu do aspektów ekumenicznych, kulturowych i ekonomicznych.

The theme of the article is the “presence” of pilgrimages in the documents and the liturgy of the Church. To explore this issue, the missals were examined and it has been found that there is no form of piety in them. We therefore focused on the rite of the liturgy for special groups. There was a review of other documents of the Church: The Catechism of the Catholic Church, exhortations and apostolic letters. According to them, the choice of the Eucharist or other church services depends on the priest. The rituals of these services are presented in the Directory on Popular Piety and the Liturgy, the Book of Blessings adapted to the customs of the Polish dioceses, in the Family ritual and Liturgical agendas. The devotions proposed by agendas were compared by taking into account local customs and special circumstances of pilgrimages. The reference was made to the laws, practical guidelines and advice for pilgrims, provided by the rectors of sanctuaries, and even the Holy See. It has been concluded that all the gathered material concerning pilgrimages in the documents and the liturgy of the Church is skimpy and insufficient.

He refers especially to the way of Abraham, Exodus of Israel from Egypt and excerpts of the Epistles of Apostle Paul. Biblical stories are prophetic announcements of Church which is described as the faithful on the pilgrimage. Moreover, the stories are symbol of a journey of each human being to the encounter with God in the eternity. The author formulates practical conclusions for the pilgrimage ministry and for pilgrims themselves. He begins the analysis with the description of the moment of taking up the journey when after time filled with restlessness the pilgrim makes decision on the future ( entrusting to God, stating purposes, strengthening religious motivations of the pilgrimage, surrendering to the providence of God ). In the next stage, he discusses journey alone, which is time of the trial and strengthening the pilgrim. The pilgrimage is not only about reaching destination, getting from the pilgrim’s home to the shrine, but about a spiritual journey of conversion, renewal, deepening faith and approaching God. Duration of the pilgrimage is measured not only by time in literal meaning ( chronos ), but by time of fulfillment of plans of God (kairos)

The aim of the study was to create a method of assessing the development of pilgrim cities PCDI. During building PCDI method, a number of indicators that determine important areas of the city were subject to verification and divided into two main groups. The first group characterizes pilgrims coming to the shrine, while the other relates to infrastructure affecting the comfort of pilgrims. Using available tools such as the presented method PCDI will allow making the right management decisions and may contribute to the development of tourism and tourism-related infrastructure.
Celem pracy było stworzenie metody oceny rozwoju miast pielgrzymkowych PCDI. Budując metodę PCDI, weryfikacji poddano szereg wskaźników determinujących istotne obszary funkcjonowania miasta dzieląc je na dwie główne grupy. Pierwsza grupa charakteryzuje pielgrzymów przybywających do sanktuarium, natomiast druga odnosi się do infrastruktury wpływającej na komfort przybywających pielgrzymów. Wykorzystywanie dostępnych narzędzi jak na przykład zaprezentowanej metody PCDI, pozwali podejmować właściwe decyzje zarządcze i może przyczynić się do rozwoju infrastruktury turystycznej i okołoturystycznej.

Der Autor entfaltet die Theologie des Pilgerns auf der Grundlage der ausgewählten biblischen Texte aus dem Alten und Neuen Testament. Im besonderen bezieht er sich auf den Weg Abrahams, des Auszugs der Israeliten aus Ägypten, sowie der Fragmente der Briefe des hl. Paulus. Biblische Bilder bestimmen die Ankündigung der Kirche, die pilgerndes Gottesvolk genannt wird. Sie sind das Bild des Lebens eines jeden Menschen, der zum Treffen mit Gott in Ewigkeit wandert. Aus den theologischen Analysen leitet der Autor praktische Schlussfolgerungen für die Pilger und die Pilgerseelsorge ab. Er beginnt mit dem Moment, sich auf den Weg zu machen, während dessen nach den Unruhen des Pilgers sich die Entscheidung, was die Zukunft anbetrifft, gestaltet (sich Gott anvertrauen, Intention formulieren, religiöse Motivationen der Wanderung stärken, sich der Gottes Obhut anvertrauen). Im nächsten Punkt wird die Wanderung selbst besprochen, die eine Probezeit und Zeit der geistigen Stärkung des Pilgers ist. Die Pilgerzeit ist nicht nur der Zeitraum des Übergangs des geographischen Raumes aus dem Familienhaus ins Sanktuarium, sondern ist der geistige Weg des Pilgers: Erneuerung des religiösen Lebens, Bekehrung, Stärkung des Glaubens und der Hoffnung, Annäherung an Gott. Sie ist eine Zeit, die nicht nur mit der Uhr (chronos) gerechnet wird, sondern die Zeit der Erfüllung Gottes Pläne (kairos).

Artykuł poświęcony jest analizie metafor, które ujmują człowieka jako wędrowca, a świat jako miejsce jego wędrówki. Punktem wyjścia jest tu porównanie dwóch postaw pielgrzyma: charakterystycznej dla społeczeństwa tradycyjnego, której symbolem jest Abraham, i właściwej epoce nowoczesności – purytańskiego przedsiębiorcy. W tym kontekście ukazane zostają przemiany, jakie zaszły w owej „wędrówce” w późnej nowoczesności. Przedmiotem analizy są postacie „turysty” i „włóczęgi” opisane przez Zygmunta Baumana.
This article is devoted to the analysis of metaphors of a person as a wanderer and the world as a place for wandering. The starting-point is the comparison of the two figures of a pilgrim: the one in traditional society (Abraham) and the other in modernity (a Puritan). At this background the main issue of the transformation of “wandering” in the postmodern times is tackled. The figures of “a tourist” and “a vagabond” described by Zygmunt Bauman are the subject of analysis.

W związku z faktem, iż o religijnym obliczu Kościoła w najbliższych dziesiątkach lat decydować będzie obecne pokolenie młodzieży, warto zadać pytanie: jaka jest kondycja religijno moralna współczesnej młodzieży? Znakomitą okazję do przyglądnięcia się tej kondycji stworzyły Światowe Dni Młodzieży, jakie odbyły się pod koniec lipca 2016 roku w Krakowie. Poniższy artykuł, Bazując na badaniach Etapy socjalizacji religijnej i elementy postaw religijnych uczestników Światowych Dni Młodzieży w 2016 roku, które przeprowadził Instytut Statystyki Kościoła Katolickiego w Polsce wśród uczestników Światowych Dni Młodzieży, w artykule podjęto próbę nakreślenia religijnego portretu młodego katolika początku XXI wieku. W artykule tym ukazano genezę, cele, historię Światowych Dni Młodzieży w świecie i w Polsce. Zaprezentowano metodologię badań przeprowadzonych wśród uczestników Światowych Dni Młodzieży latem 2016 roku. Następnie omówiono elementy postaw religijnych, a więc wiarę, utożsamianie się młodych z Kościołem, ukazano praktyki religijne młodzieży, przytoczono opinie młodzieży na tematy moralności, świadomość przynależności młodzieży do parafii i do ruchów religijnych, w końcu zaś stosunek do instytucjonalnego Kościoła. Podsumowując, należy stwierdzić, że dla życia wiarą, dla świadomego wyznawania jej ważną rolę pełni doświadczenie przynależenia i wspólnoty.
Considering the fact that the present young generation shall decide about the religious face of the Church in the years to come, it is worth asking – “what is the religious and moral condition of young people today?” A perfect opportunity to have a close look at this condition was provided by the World Youth Day taking place in Krakow in 2016. The present article, based on study conducted by The Institute of Statistics of the Catholic Church in Poland among participants of the World Youth Day and entitled : Stages of Religious Socialization and Elements of Religious Attitudes of Participants of the World Youth Day in 2016 undertakes an attempt to draw a religious portrait of a young Catholic at the beginning of the 21st century. The article shows the genesis, objectives and history of the WYD in the World and in Poland. It presents the methodology of studies conducted among participants of the World Youth Day in summer 2016. Next, follows the discussion of religious attitudes, that is the faith and the identifcation of young people with the Church, presentation of their religious practices, their opinions on moral issues, awareness of membership of parish communities and religious movements and fnally, attitude towards Church as an institution. Summing up, it should be concluded that the experience of membership and participation in the life of community plays an important role in the life in faith and its conscious professing.

This study presents changes in religious tourism in Poland at the beginning of the 21st century. These include the development of a network of pilgrimage centers, the renaissance of medieval pilgrim routes, the unflagging popularity of pilgrimages on foot as well as new forms using bicycles, canoes, skis, scooters, rollerblades and trailskates; along with riding, Nordic walking, running and so on. Related to pilgrimages, there is a growing interest in so-called ‘holidays’ in monasteries, hermitages and retreat homes, as well as a steady increase in weekend religious tourism. Religious tourists and pilgrims are attracted to shrines by mysteries, church fairs and religious festivals, in addition to regular religious services and ceremonies.

One of the cost reduction factors is the reduction of the number of defects by early detection and, if possible, the removal of non-conformities. Incompatibility is an error that can be removed in accordance with the performance standard that does not cause defects (Norma API). The defect is imperfection that is so important that it is the basis for the removal of the product or its part based on the criteria set out in the performance standards. In pipe manufacturing processes, defects and batch incompatibilities can be distinguished, which arise in the steelworks during metal solidification and roll forming in the course of metal processing. The defect may also arise as a result of removing steel material or result from rolling processes defects. The paper presents the analysis of the process of quality control of pipes manufactured using the pilgrim method on the basis of real process data. The analysis were involved 1070 pieces of ingots from 11 different melts for rolling pipes. At various stages of production, discrepancies and defects were revealed, which were caused by metallurgical or technological defects associated with rolling pipes. The total amount of discrepancies and defects eliminated 168 pieces of finished pipes. The aim of the work is to show that by means of appropriately selected methods of eliminating imperfections, it is possible to increase the efficiency of the manufacturing process.

The path leading Gustaw Herling to the Soviet gulag and to his pilgrimage as soldier, exile and witness to totalitarianism has its symbolic prologue in Herling reading of Croce’s Storia d’Europa during the summer of 1939. The publication of this text in Poland after the fall of communism represented instead its symbolic landing. Through fragments of memories, the article retraces this path, focusing on the secular “religion of freedom” as one of the pivotal keys of Herling’s life and work.

Artykuł traktuje o edukacji historycznej dla ludu na przełomie XIX i XX w. Punktem wyjścia są pierwsze całościowe dzieje Polski dla chłopów autorstwa Izabeli z Flemmingów Czartoryskiej. Jej Pielgrzym w Dobromilu powstał z myślą o spopularyzowaniu historii ojczystej oraz zaszczepieniu pojęcia ojczyzny w świadomości chłopów. Dużo miejsca poświęcono w nim kobietom: władczyniom, szlachciankom oraz chłopkom. Księżna starała się o ukształtowanie pożądanego społecznie wzorca włościanki: kobiety pobożnej, dobrej, schludnej i pracowitej, spełnionej w roli żony, matki i gospodyni. Krytykowała kobiece pijaństwo, prostytucję, lenistwo, guślarstwo, kłótliwość i inne przywary. Narracja oparta była na balansowaniu między wyidealizowanym obrazem wiejskich stosunków oraz piętnowaniem tego, co w gromadach naganne i wymagające zmiany. Autorka artykułu stara się odpowiedzieć na pytania: 1) Dlaczego po ponad sześciu dekadach od wydania Pielgrzyma w Dobromilu dziełko nadal uznawano za przydatne w edukacji warstw plebejskich zaboru austriackiego oraz 2) W jaki sposób lwowska fundacja starała się podtrzymać zainteresowanie autorką i jej aktywnością twórczą adresowaną do „niższych” warstw społecznych. Dochodzi do wniosku, że było to spowodowane zarówno deficytem nowych i dobrych opracowań przeznaczonych dla warstw plebejskich, jak i przyjętą przez Macierz Polską strategią wydawniczą obejmującą włączanie w obręb narodu polskiego przez zapoznawanie z klasyką narodowej historiografii i literatury. Przed wybuchem I wojny światowej zaznaczył się w niej także trend polegający na przybliżaniu czytelnikom MP określonych środowisk umysłowych, co pozostawało w związku z akcentowaniem roli inteligencji w porozbiorowych dziejach narodu. Opracowanie Władysława Jankowskiego o Puławach nie tylko prezentowało klimat i dokonania środowiska związanego z dworem Czartoryskich, ale i służyło promowaniu ideologii solidaryzmu narodowego i społecznego.
The article deals with historical education for the people at the turn of the 20th century. The starting point is the first comprehensive history of Poland for peasants by Izabela Czartoryska née Flemming. Her Pilgrim in Dobromil aimed at popularizing her native history and instilling the notion of "homeland" in the minds of peasants. A lot of space was devoted to women: rulers, noblemen, and peasants. The Duchess tried to shape a socially desirable model of a peasant woman: pious, good, neat and hardworking, fulfilling the role of wife, mother and housewife. She criticized female drunkenness, prostitution, laziness, witchcraft and other vices. The narrative was based on balancing the idealized image of rural relations with the stigmatization of what was reprehensible and in need of change. The author of the article tries to answer two questions: 1) Why, more than six decades after the publication of the Pilgrim in Dobromil, was the work still considered useful for the education of the plebeian layers of the Austrian partition and 2) How did the Lviv Foundation try to maintain its interest in the author and her creative activity calculated for the "lower" social classes? She concludes that this was due both to the shortage of new and good papers of the addressed plebeian classes and to the publishing strategy adopted by the Polish Cradle, which included the inclusion of the Polish nation through the study of the classics of national historiography and literature. Before the outbreak of the First World War, a trend was also observed in the strategy to familiarize readers with specific mental environments, which was related to the emphasis on the role of the intelligentsia in the post-partitioning history of the nation. Władysław Jankowski's study on Puławy not only presented the climate and achievements of the Czartoryski court environment, but also served to promote the ideology of national and social solidarity.

Opis:
The notions of the road and home, as well as home-coming, home-leaving, homelessness, and homeliness, have taken its essential place in philosophical research. Based on the mythological stories about Ulysses, Theseus, or Heracles, this metaphor is used to name the process of constant movement as a form of human existence. Zygmunt Bauman, whose life was also a continuous movement, both physical and mental, uses the metaphor of movement while describing the moral situation of today’s society. This text aims to analyse the models of human existence proposed by Bauman, to discuss the differences and similarities between them, and to put them into a broader context while discussing Otherness, contemporary ethics, and exile. The article also explores the possibilities of existence and applicability of the figures proposed by Zygmunt Bauman in the contemporary world.
