Artykuł omawia związki staropolskich kalendarzy z medycyną. Ich podstawą była astrologia oraz utylitarność tych druków. Przeanalizowano wątki dotyczące zdrowia, miejsca ich prezentacji i funkcji, jaką pełniły w almanachach, z retorycznej perspektywy. Różnorodny materiał, od naukowych artykułów po krótkie porady, wiersze, przysłowia i prognostyki chorobowe wybrano z kalendarzy krakowskich, gdańskich, zamojskich i poznańskich. Uwzględniono ewolucję kalendarza, ale też trwałość staropolskiego modelu i obecności niektórych jego elementów aż do dziś.
The article discusses the connections of Old-Polish calendars with medicine, which were predicated upon the science of astrology and the utilitarian character of these popular prints. It analyses the health-related motifs, their place within the calendars, and their functions as seen from a rhetorical point of view. Varied content, from scholarly articles through succinct pieces of advice, verse, proverbs, and health forecasts, has been selected from almanacs published in Cracow, Gdansk, Zamosc, and Poznan. The article takes into account the evolution of the calendar genre as well as the persistence of some of its elements which survive until this day. - Źródło:
