The article presents the most important religious themes in Pieśni [Songs] by Nikodem Muśnicki, a Jesuit from Polotsk, who was active during the Enlightenment. His biography, as presented in the introductory section, places him among forgotten writers, representatives of classicism after King Stanislaus II, and is a starting point in the interpretation of his songs. The analysis of selected pieces, published in the volume Drobniejsze poetyckie zabawki [Smaller Poetic Toys] and those which remained in manuscript, clearly indicates that Muśnicki chose the most important religious problems as his object of poetic reflection. He is interested in God, man and the world. Within these themes he also analyses more detailed issues: the essence of the Supreme Being, the existential situation of the human being, the place of man in the universe, and, last but not least, relations of God and man. The poet’s works are an interesting example of Polish religious poetry during the Enlightenment.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie zapatrywań Macieja Kazimierza Sarbiewskiego na wybrane kwestie z zakresu poetyki oraz interpretacja – wzbogacona o inne konteksty (Horacy, Jan Kochanowski) – jego Ody IV. 12 Do Jana Libiniusza. Usprawiedliwienie swej samotności. Rozważania poparte zostały odwołaniami do liryków i traktatów teoretycznych jezuity, cenną podbudowę stanowią ponadto rozprawy dotyczące twórczości sarmackiego Horacjusza autorstwa m.in. Andrzeja Borowskiego, Piotra Urbańskiego czy Elwiry Buszewicz.Artykuł składa się z dwóch zasadniczych części, z których pierwsza poświęcona jest poetyce sformułowanej Sarbiewskiego. Autorka przybliża w niej idee myśliciela dotyczące roli poety, hierarchii sztuk oraz funkcji zabiegu alegoryzacji i jego związku z koncepcją fabulosa theologia. W kolejnej części zwraca się uwagę na obecność motywów ignacjańskich w lirykach jezuity powstałych po 1625 roku. Nawiązania do doktryny zakonu św. Ignacego Loyoli w silnym stopniu naznaczają także tkankę Ody IV. 12, równie istotnymi kontekstami są ponadto topos theatrum mundi oraz dorobek literacki Horacego (zwłaszcza Carm. III. 1). Rozważania zostają zwieńczone tezą o spójności wyłożonych w rozprawach teoretycznych idei z wydźwiękiem „późnych” utworów Sarbiewskiego.
Der Artikel verfolgt das Ziel, die Anschauungen von Matthias Kasimir Sarbiewski über gewählte Fragen der Poetik darzustellen sowie seine Ode IV. 12 An Johann Libinius. Die Entschuldigung der eigenen Einsamkeit in einem vertieften Kontext (Horaz, Jan Kochanowski) zu interpretieren. Die Überlegungen wurden durch Bezüge auf lyrische Dichtung und theoretische Traktate des Jesuiten unterstützt. Eine wertvolle Untermauerung bilden darüber hinaus die Abhandlungen u. a. von Andrzej Borowski, Piotr Urbański oder Elwira Buszewicz über das Schaffen des sarmatischen Horaz. Der Artikel setzt sich aus zwei grundlegenden Teilen, von denen der erste der von Sarbiewski formulierten Poetik gewidmet ist. Die Verfasserin stellt darin die Ideen des Denkers über die Rolle des Dichters, die Hierarchie der Künste, die Funktion des Allegorisierungsverfahrens und seine Beziehung zum Konzept von Theologia fabulosa vor. Im nächsten Teil wird auf die Anwesenheit der ignatianischen Motive in der Dichtung des Jesuiten nach 1625 fokussiert. Verweise auf die Doktrin des Ordens des Heiligen Ignatius Loyola prägen auch im starken Maße das Gefüge der Ode IV. 12, darüber hinaus erweisen sich als genauso wichtige Kontexte das Topos von Theatrum mundi und das literarische Werk von Horaz (besonders Carm. III. 1). Die Überlegungen münden in der These über die Kohärenz der in seinen theoretischen Schriften erläuterten Ideen mit der Aussage der "späteren" Gedichte von Sarbiewski.
The author elaborates on Maciej Kazimierz Sarbiewskiʼs views on poetics and interprets his Ode IV. 12 (The vain theatre of life. To Jan Libiniusz. An excuse for my solitude) with references to works by Horace and Jan Kochanowski. Quoted are Jesuit Sarbiewski’s lyrical works and theoretical treaties as well as essays written about this ‘Polish Horace’ by Polish literary critics. The first part of the article deals with poetics as interpreted by Sarbiewski,  highlighting  the role of a poet and the hierarchy of arts as well as the function of allegorization and its relation to  the idea of fabulosa theologia. The second part takes up Ignatian themes in his lyrical works written after 1625. References to the doctrine of the Society of Jesus are strongly evident in Ode IV.12 and so are those to the concept of “theatrum mundi” and in particular to Horace’s literary works (especially Carmina III.1).  The author concludes that the ideas outlined in Sarbiewski’s theoretical treatises are consistent with his works in later years.

Rozprawa poświęcona jest dawnej refleksji teoretycznoliterackiej na temat prozodii tekstu literackiego oraz – rozpatrywanej pod tym kątem – praktyce polskich pisarzy przełomu oświeceniowo-romantycznego (Józefa Franciszka Królikowskiego, Stanisława Okraszewskiego) i dojrzałego romantyzmu (Cypriana Norwida). Wychodząc od wczesnych sporów o sylabotonizm, łączonych wówczas z „muzycznością” poezji, autorka pokazuje dwa dominujące ujęcia tej problematyki: klasycystyczne, stawiające za wzór prozodię starożytną, nawiązujące do ideałów melopoesis, lokujące lirykę w kontekście muzyki i retoryki, oraz sentymentalno-romantyczne, nawiązujące do rodzimej tradycji ludowej i średniowiecznej, dystansujące się od „retoryczności” na rzecz nowego rozumienia „liryczności”. Echa tego sporu odzywają się w Norwidowskim dyskursie, a w warstwie prozodycznej jego poezji – prowokującej melorecytatywny sposób głosowej realizacji – można dostrzec kontynuację tradycji melopoesis, w której „retoryczność” nie była stawiana w opozycji do „liryczności” tekstu.
The study concerns historical theories on the prosody of a literary text, in particular theoretical and practical propositions submitted in the late Enlightenment and early Romanticism period by Polish writers – Józef Franciszek Królikowski and Stanisław Okraszewski, and the poet of mature Romanticism – Cyprian Norwid. Starting from the early disputes about syllabotonicism (accentual-syllabic versification), in the earlier formulations associated with the ‘musicality’ of poetry, the author shows two dominant approaches to this issue: the classicistic, and sentimental and romantic. The former puts ancient prosody forward as a model, refers to the ideals of melopoesis, and places lyric in the context of music and rhetoric; the latter, on the other hand, refers to the medieval tradition and native folklore which distance themselves from ‘the rhetorical’ in favour of a new concept of ‘the lyrical.’ The reverberation of this dispute echos in Norwid’s discourse, whereas in the prosodic layer of his poetry, provoking melodeclamation in a manner of voice realisation, one can see a continuation of the melopoesis tradition in which ‘the rhetorical’ of a poetical text does not contradict ‘the lyrical.’

In Hölderlins ‚tragischer Ode‘ Chiron drückt sich im Schmerz des unheilbar verwundeten Kentauren ein persönliches wie auch ein allgemeines Leiden aus. Vers für Vers ergründet der Aufsatz Chirons ‚Innenwelt‘ und analysiert dabei Hölderlins intensitätsbasierte poetische Verfahrensweise. Der Fokus liegt auf dem Spannungs- und Entwicklungsbogen, der Hölderlins Konzept des ‚Tragischen‘ widerspiegelt. Seine Poetik kreist um Trennung und Vereinigung, um die progressive Integration von Gegensätzlichem und um die Notwendigkeit von semantischen Leerstellen.
In Holderlin’s ‘tragic ode’ Chiron, the pain of the incurably wounded centaur serves to express both personal and general suffering. The article explores Chiron’s ‘inner world’ line by line, thereby analysing Holderlin’s poetic method. It focuses on the arc of suspense and development, reflecting the author’s concept of ‘the tragic’. His poetics is rooted in separation and reunification, the progressive integration of the opposites, and the essential role of semantic openness.

The following problem of Markus and Yamabe is answered affirmatively: Let f be a local diffeomorphism of the euclidean plane whose jacobian matrix has negative trace everywhere. If f(0) = 0, is it true that 0 is a global attractor of the ODE dx/dt = f(x)? An old result of Olech states that this is equivalent to the question if such an f is injective. Here the problem is treated in the latter form by means of an investigation of the behaviour of f near infinity.

We study analytical properties of a singular nonlinear ordinary differential equation with a Φ-Laplacian. We investigate solutions of the initial value problem (p(t)Φ(u’(t)))’ + p(t)f(Φ(u(t))) = 0, u(0) = uₒ ϵ [Lₒ,L], u’(0) = 0 on the half-line [0,∞). Here, f is a continuous function with three zeros, function p is positive on (0,∞) and p(0) = 0. The integral ∫₀1dsds/p(s) may be divergent which yields the time singularity at t = 0. Our equation generalizes equations which appear in hydrodynamics or in the nonlinear field theory.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the poem by Adam Naruszewicz Duma do słowika that is the translation of the ode by Jean‑Baptise Rousseau, A Philomele. The poem’s narrative order is marked out by the comparison of the two texts; and all that is done to show the way Polish poet rendered the original text. In the article particular attention is paid to the differences between fragments of the French work and Polish Duma do słowika. But above all, the analysis brings out the fact that Naruszewicz’s style was quite distinct, and the relation of lyrical I to the recipient of the utterance is slightly different from that in the Rousseau’s poem, which is particularly noticeable in the ending passage of the Polish work. Important features of the Naruszewicz‑as‑a‑translator’s technique are also discussed.

The ode as a genre in the Latin poetry of Jan Kochanowski (Lyricorum libellus)The aim of this study is to establish the place of Jan Kochanowski’s Lyricorum libellus (1580) in the history of Polish Renaissance Neo-Latin ode presented against a wider European background. The development of this genre in this historico-literary period in Poland has received only fragmentary reporting, e.g. in relation to Horatianism in literature or as a background for the vernacular ode. Yet, as Carol Maddison argues in her Apollo and the Nine, the Neo-Latin ode is, in a sense, a new genre revived and newly “devised” by Renaissance humanists. In her fundamental work, Maddison also presents the development of the ode and its variations in Italy and France. According to ancient patterns used by poets, Horatian odes (including Kochanowski’s odes) can be divided into the “pindaric” and the “anacreontic-sapphic.” To some extent this division coincides with the classification of odes as “political” or “private.” Similar categorisation criteria adopted by various researchers (Zofia Głombiowska, Jacqueline Glomski, Józef Budzyński) may result in individual odes being assigned to several different categories. The first part of the paper, therefore, emphasises the identity of the Neo-Latin ode and its status as a new genre strongly related to Renaissance Humanism. In the second part, the author attempts to assign particular poems from Lyricorum libellus to patterns indicated by Maddison, and deals with previous attempts at classification based on differentiating between political and private odes. She also underlines that Kochanowski frequently imitated both pindaric and anacreontic patterns through Horace. In the third part, the author analyses the strophic organisation of individual odes and their metre as well as their logical-rhetorical structure. The odes are here classified with regard to these criteria and interpreted in accordance with their historical context. The author pays close attention to the genre’s borderline between ode and hymn, stylistic “nobilitation” of lyrical poems and the outright Horationism of the collection. Lastly, she presents conclusions concerning the role of Lyricorum libellus in the development of the ode. Before Kochanowski, a significant role in the evolution of the genre was played by the so-called “university ode,” which was popular in Silesian and German poetic circles, as well as in odes by Paweł z Krosna. Kochanowski’s odes, however, bear little resemblance to this stage of the development of the genre in Poland. Imitating Horace in the spirit of such poets as Michal Marullus or Giovanni Pontano, Kochanowski demonstrates a mature awareness of the Neo-Latin ode, formed at the meeting-point of ode and hymn and constituting an element of a cycle organised in accordance with a certain idea.

The parameters involved in problem of a Robot control have also been discussed through RKsixth-order algorithm. The précised solution of the system of equations representing the arm model of a robot has been compared with the corresponding approximate solutions at different time intervals. Experimental results and comparison show the efficiency of the numerical integration algorithm based on the absolute error between the exact and approximate solutions. The stability polynomial for the test equation ( is a complex Number) using RK-Butcher algorithm obtained by Murugesan et. al. [Murugesan K., Sekar S., Murugesh V., Park J.Y., "Numerical solution of an Industrial Robot arm Control Problem using the RK-Butcher Algorithm", International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology, vol.19, no. 2, 2004, pp. 132-138] is not correct and the stability regions for RK-fourth order (RKAM) and RK-Butcher methods have been presented incorrectly. They have made a mistake in determining the range for real parts of (h is a step size) involved in the test equation for RKAM and RK-Butcher algorithms. In the present paper, a corrective measure has been taken to obtain the stability polynomial for the case of RK-Butcher algorithm, the ranges for the real part of and to present graphically the stability regions of the RKAM and the RK-Butcher methods. The stability polynomial and stability region of RK-Sixth order are also reported. Based on the numerical results it is observed that the error involved in the numerical solution obtained by RK-Sixth order is less in comparison with that obtained by the RK-Fifth order and RK-Fourth order respectively.

This article proposes a new reading of Stanisław Trembecki’s "Oda nie do druku" ("Ode not for print"). Contrary to some earlier analyses of the poem, especially the most recent one by Roman Doktór, who claimed that the ode was a manifestation of the poet’s servility toward Bishop Michał Jerzy Poniatowski, the present author argues that Trembecki’s intention was quite different. Referring to the bishop’s ceremonial ingress, the writer used the form of a congratulatory panegyric, but under the guise of praise, he clearly mocked both the new ecclesiastical dignitary and his brother, King Stanisław August.

Opis:
In the field of power and drive systems, electrical AC machines are mostly modeled using a set of explicit ordinary differential equations in a state space representation. It is shown, that by using other equation types for simulation, algebraic constraints arising from aggregating several machines to a more complex system can directly be considered. The effects of different model variants on numerical ODE/DAE solvers are investigated in the focus of this work in order perform efficient simulations of larger systems possessing electrical AC machines.
