    Paper presents analysis of resistance of forest habitat and species that are subjects of protection within Natura 2000 to pressure related to development of tourism and recreation. Types of negative impacts as well as affected habitats and species were presented. Objects of potential protection that have no defined further vulnerability to tourism and recreation were listed too. There are many possibilities of solving the conflicts arising on the contact between Natura 2000 forest habitats and species protection as well as tourism and recreation. They include legal, organisation, infrastructure and education solutions.

    W artykule przedstawiono charakterystykę hydrograficzno-hydrochemiczną źródeł z wytraceniami martwic wapiennych położonych na obszarze Beskidu Małego. Źródła tego typu wraz z charakterystycznymi zbiorowiskami Cratoneurion commutati zaliczone zostały do siedlisk przyrodniczych o znaczeniu priorytetowym (kod Natura 2000: 7220). Wykazano, że depozycja martwic wapiennych zachodzi w źródłach o zróżnicowanej mineralizacji wód. Ma ona również charakter okresowy, przypada głównie na lato.
    The paper presents hydrological-hydrochemical characteristics of springs with limestones precipitations situated in the area of the Beskid Mały Mts. These springs with characteristic plant communities Cratoneurion commutati were included to priority NATURA 2000 habitat (code 7220). It was revealed that precipitation of limestone occurs in spring with diversified mineralization of waters. It is a periodic phenomenon with the maximum of the occurrence in summer.

    Opis:
    Cladonio−Pinetum Juraszek 1927 forest is protected in Europe as the Natura 2000 habitat. Nowadays its naturalness is often considered to be doubtful. In spite of the many research, the knowledge about ecology and dynamics of this community is still insufficient. The aim of the research is to define the stability of the community within ‘Bory Tucholskie' National Park. The site is located in the area of the best developed patches of the habitat, in north−western Poland. Two datasets of relevés were used. The first comes from published data and includes 123 relevés made in year 2000. The other comes from own fieldworks performed in 2014. Due to the high homogeneity of geology and soils of the study site, repeated chronosequence method could be used to compare both datasets. The information about herb and moss layers of all relevés was compared using DCA method. The change in community was measured as a shift in the position within the main gradient of DCA over 14−year period. It was calculated for 122 pairs of relevés. Than the model of the speed of community change was computed for the main gradient. We used two methods of calculation of duration of the lichen−rich pine forests. The first was based on the calculated ranges of distinguished associations and the other used the model of cover of species connected to Cladonio−Pinetum forest. As the speed of community change in the gradient and the distance between distinguished communities were known, the time of community duration could be computed. According to obtained results, Cladonia−Scots pine forest (Cladonio−Pinetum) and lichen rich fresh pine forest (Leucobryo−Pinetum with Cladonia) of ‘Bory Tucholskie' National Park will last for 64−109 years. This result shows, that the considered Natura 2000 habitat is unstable. It is the possible development stage within managed forest stands and active conservation is necessary where its preservation is needed.

    Ostericum palustre Besser is a species protected by the domestic and EU laws. In Poland it occurs in about 150 sites one of which is located in the area covered by Natura 2000 “Lisi Kąt”. The population existing there, estimated as 35,000 individuals, covers the acreage of 342 ha. The species persists there mostly in over-dried and transformed-by-meadow-management reed beds with the share of Carex acutiformis and C. gracilis, in phytocenoses of Scheuchzerio-Caricetea nigrae with a large share of mosses, in overgrowing patches of the alliances of Molinion as well as sporadically within reed beds with Carex pseudocyperus. Its share in similar phytocenoses coincides with the reports in literature in the region of the Noteć Valley. In most cases those are heavily disturbed systems, transitional in nature, which must have been the reason for a relatively high level of species variation. The habitat preferences of Ostericum palustre, determined with Ellenberg's indicator values (L, T), correspond to the values optimal for the species. Soil, on the other hand, can be referred to as slightly acid, average fertile and mostly moist.

    Relic Pinus cembra forests were among the least studied plant communities in the Western Car- pathians. Their distribution in this mountain range is limited only to the Tatras. The lack of comprehensive research on the Polish and Slovakian sides of the Tatras led to considerable discrepancy regarding their distribution (300–1170 ha) as well as habitat conditions. Their occurrence on limestones and in the West- ern Tatras was contested. Therefore, the aim of this work was to determine the distribution and habitat conditions for the occurrence of Swiss stone pine forests in the Tatras. We mapped the entire range of the distribution of these forests, using the topographic method and digitized it in ArcGIS 10.2.2. Afterwards, we undertook spatial analysis, using DEM regarding their occurrence, depending on: altitude, inclination, solar radiation, exposure, geology and soil. To determine the preferable site conditions we used the logistic regression model. The total area of P. cembra forests in the Tatras is 916.93 ha. They occur in all mountain ranges within the Tatras. Altitude, inclination and solar radiation have significant impacts on the occur- rence of these forests. The odds of the occurrence of P. cembra forests increased by 0.5% for every 1 m of altitude, by 2% for every 1° of inclination and decrease by 0.1% for every 1 MJ/m2/year of solar radiation. The majority of these forests grow in the altitude range 1300–1650 m a.s.l. (95%) and on slopes with 20–60° inclinations (80%). Swiss stone pine forests occur both on slopes with low (1900 MJ/m2) and high annual solar radiation (3400 MJ/m2). They prefer slopes with North-western exposure. They may grow both on granite and limestone, while the majority of them were mapped on granite. Pinus cembra forests grow on diverse soils, both acidic and alkaline. Nevertheless, most of them occur on Haplic Podzols (52%). The results may be applicable to the Tatra National Park for the conservation and monitoring of this Natura 2000 habitat.

    Opis:
    Planning effective conservation measures in relation to particular habitats and species, which are the subjects of protection, require, above all, assessing their conservation status and identifying factors that have influenced this state. Although the scope of monitoring and the number of investigated species and habitats from Annex I, II, IV and V of the Habitats Directive is gradually increasing, no formal assessment of 1160 habitat has been performed so far. Methodological guidelines don’t include any assumptions to investigation and valuation of this habitat. In Europe the habitat 1160 is protected in 462 Natura 2000 sites. Due to its significant structural and functional diversity in particular European countries, there is a necessity of working out specific site indices for the state assessment. The aim of this work was the review of methods used in the ‘Large, shallow inlets and bays’ state assessment in selected European countries and presentation the assumptions for the assessment in Polish special area of conservation: PLH220032 Puck Bay and Hel Peninsula.
    Planowanie skutecznych środków ochronnych w odniesieniu do poszczególnych siedlisk i gatunków, wymaga przede wszystkim oceny stanu ich zachowania oraz identyfikacji czynników, które wpłynęły na ten stan. Pomimo tego, że zakres monitoringu siedlisk i gatunków z załączników I, II, IV i V Dyrektywy siedliskowej stale się rozszerza, w Polsce dotychczas nie przeprowadzono formalnej oceny stanu siedliska morskiego 1160 ‘Duże płytkie zatoki’, a przewodniki metodyczne nie zawierają odpowiednich wytycznych. W Europie siedlisko 1160 jest objęte ochroną w 462 obszarach Natura 2000. Ze względu na znaczne zróżnicowanie strukturalne i funkcjonalne siedliska w poszczególnych rejonach istnieje konieczność wypracowania specyficznych dla danego miejsca wskaźników do oceny jego stanu. Celem pracy jest przegląd kryteriów stosowanych do oceny stanu siedliska 1160 w wybranych krajach oraz prezentacja założeń do przeprowadzenia takiej oceny w specjalnym obszarze ochrony siedlisk PLH220032 Zatoka Pucka i Półwysep Helski.

    This paper presents the results of mycological observations of the Cladonio- Pinetum community in the “Bory Tucholskie” National Park in 2018. Active protection treatments have been performed to protect disappearing communities. This study was conducted using the permanent circular plot method, with each plot having an area of approximately 100 m2. Observations were also carried out using the route method outside the plots. Consequently, 71 fungal taxa were found. Among the identified species of macromycetes are Boletopsis grisea, which is on the list of protected fungi, and seven species (Boletopsis grisea, Cortinarius armeniacus, Dacrymyces capitatus, Deconica montana, Entoloma rhodocalix, Tricholoma equestre, and Tricholoma colossus) that are on the red list of macrofungi in Poland.
