    The article concerns the topic of science in Sayyid Quṭb’s Milestones (Maʿālim fī ăl-Ṭarīq), including its place within his other ideas, and within the book, as well as the viability of his ideas of science development. It is mostly focused on internal interpretation of Milestones, and less on its place within Muslim thought history. It is argued that – despite the outright claims of admiring science, and obliging Muslims to develop it – the author mostly presents it as a possible danger, attempts to reduce its importance and tries to undermine its appeal to Muslims, as well as sets limits to both its development by them (dividing them in two groups), and acquiring it from non-Muslims. The incongruence between the initial praises, and the general attitude towards it, is explained by expediency, as the attitude declared towards science is secondary to the greater goal of making the reader subdue to his faith, and this has to be achieved in steps, in line with the main motif of the book.

    Over its evolutionary course, the Quran, which is the holy book of Islam, has become not only a source of truths of faith for the umma (the Muslim community), but also a moral code containing a set of dos and don’ts. Due to its literary specificity, anachronism and the ambiguities appearing therein, it leaves room for interpretation, among both ordinary believers and scholars dealing with Quranic law. The literal interpretation of the holy book contributed to the emergence of many Islamic fundamentalisms. One of them is the Muslim Brotherhood established in the interwar period in Egypt. The aim of this paper is to show the coexistence of two intertwined functional elements of this organization – related to politics and terrorism, and resulting from the application of the literal and, at the same time, radical interpretation of the Quran.
    Koran, święta księga Islamu, stał się w swym ewolucyjnym toku dla ummy (społeczności muzułmańskiej) nie tylko źródłem prawd wiary, lecz również kodeksem moralnym, zawierającym zbiór nakazów i zakazów. Z uwagi na swą specyfikę literacką, anachroniczność i pojawiające się w nim niejasności, pozostawia pole do interpretacji, zarówno wśród zwykłych wiernych, jak i uczonych zajmujących się prawem koranicznym. Literalna interpretacja świętej księgi przyczyniła się do powstania wielu fundamentalizmów islamskich. Do jednego z nich zaliczyć należy utworzone w okresie międzywojennym na terytorium Egiptu Stowarzyszenie Braci Muzułmanów. Celem niniejszego tekstu jest ukazanie współistnienia dwóch przeplatających się ze sobą elementów funkcjonowania owej organizacji – politycznego i terrorystycznego, wynikających ze stosowania dosłownej i radykalnej zarazem wykładni Koranu.

    The revolutionary wave in North Africa brought about deep changes − both social and political − in the region. Islamists have grown to become the most important political power in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya. Muslim Brotherhood, a while ago referred to as Islamic extremists, stands for democratic changes in the Arab world nowadays. However, a belief that the Arab revolution should create constitutional democracies modeled on western democracies is unjustified. The article indicates problems with the democracy in the Islamic world, but does not show the way to resolve them. Taking into consideration complexity of relations between Western and Islamic civilizations, differences in understanding the worth of culture and religion and requirements of current politics, it is hard to achieve a common ground. The fact has a significant influence on the possibilities of spreading the democracy across Muslims. One thing is sure: lack of knowledge cannot be superseded by fear and prejudice.

    A historical parallel of the mood of operation by the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt to the way the organization is operating in Europe is identified. The organization has a very pragmatic ideological view allowing it to align with the political elite in EU and countries such as Sweden. It uses multiculturalism, the fight against Islamophobia and a claim of being representative for all Muslims as the three main bases to leverage influence. The Islamism it represents must be regarded as fundamentalist because it is advocating Islam as a total system encompassing all areas of life and demanding long-term subjugation. In Sweden individuals from Muslim Brotherhood associated groups have entered high-ranking political positions and managed to channel significant governmental funds to build schools, mosques, relief services and “educating” newly arrived immigrants and prison inmates. Due to the fact that the Muslim Brotherhood is trying to create an Islamist parallel structur it controls, and at the same time try to facilitate governmental support for these efforts and lastly due to the fact that it advances an ideological position in conflict with core Western values, it must be considered a threat to Europe and civilization as we know it.

As a result, they had to deal with the violation of women’s rights. When Morsi was removed, women were again at the top of political topics. The new constitution was described as the most progressive for women. Sisi has been a president for short time but he is already called the president of women. However women still face problems. They defended themselves from the Muslim Brotherhood’s rules by supporting Sisi, but did they really win by overthrowing the regime of Mubarak?

    The article presents the most important aspects of the new foreign policy of Egypt after the fall of President Hosni Mubarak and the impact of the Arab Spring on the attitude of Egypt in the region after coming to power Freedom and Justice Party (associated with the Muslim Brotherhood). The author stresses the importance of several factors, primarily the permanent impact of the army on the current policies and problems associated with social transformation, which also affected the creation of new foreign policy of the Egyptian state. A short period of rule of the Freedom and Justice Party was characterized in foreign policy area by a profound dissonance between the officially declared objectives and reality. A striking example of this policy was Egyptian approach to the Palestinian issue. Lack of strong leadership and domestic policy mistakes quickly began to adversely affect the activity of Egypt in the international arena. For the United States, the current most important ally of Egypt, key issue was the fulfillment by the new authorities provisions of Camp David Accords and maintain alliance, especially in matters of military cooperation. Therefore, the Egyptian-Iranian rapprochement soon after coming to power President Morsy was regarded as a dangerous precedent, and to some extent a threat to the existing status quo in the Middle East. Egypt also changed alliances with Arab Gulf states – the choice of new partners was dictated by ideological closeness and willingness to break with Mubarak allies. The paper shows also the greatest failures in the international arena of “new Egypt,” among them: 1) the severance of diplomatic relations with Syria and the self-exclusion as a mediator in the Syrian conflict; 2) an unsuccessful attempt to join the BRICS group; 3) failure in Ethiopian-Egyptian dispute overaccessto the Nile resources. The author states that within two years period of Freedom and Justice Party rule the international position of Egypt has been further eroded, which was mainly caused by fatal economic situation of the state and the need to seek new sources of funding in the world.

    Until 2011, Salafimovement held itself aloof from politics. However, Arab Spring resulted in an opportunity to create their own political parties. Egyptian Salafists were the first to follow this path after the fall of the Hosni Mubarak regime. The emergence of these parties proved to be beneficial for the development of Arab democracy. By their convictions, the Salafists are extremely conservative and more radical than the Muslim Brotherhood. Despite its conservatism, the political force used peaceful means to fight for change, attracted a significant part of Arab society to participate in legal politics, and also added diversity to the spectrum of Islamist parties, preventing any one force from claiming that it represented the entire Muslim community. But soon the rise in popularity of jihadist organizations, which call to fight for the implementation of Islamist ideas not by legal political, but by violent methods, undermined the influence of Salafiparties. In addition, discrediting of the Salafimovement was largely influenced by Saudi policy, the main purpose of which was to counter the Muslim Brotherhood inside Egypt. As a result, most of the ultra-conservative forces became Wahhabi, which led to discord within the Egyptian Salafists. The one part of the movement, which continued to support the Brothers, suffered a political defeat with them after the 2013 military coup. The other part, which sided with the military elite, as a result of these actions completely lost support among the population. This article analyzes the process of the Salafimovement entering the political arena in Egypt, the dynamics of its relations with the Muslim Brotherhood and the ideological differences between them. The article also examines the influence of Saudi Arabia on Egyptian Salafism and explains the main differences between Salafism and Wahhabism in the context of this influence.

    This paper presents the role of the Muslim Brotherhood in 20th century Egyptian politics and analyzes its position and influence on the 2011 Arab Spring events. Since the establishment of the Brotherhood, in 1928, the Muslim Brothers have been connected with the Muslim trend of political thought defined as Islamism. From the beginning of the Brotherhood, the Brothers an Islamic ideology as the foundation of its socio-national program. They also used it for their political struggle. Till the end of the1940s, the Brotherhood, headed by its founder Hassan al-Banna, operated legally. After his death in 1949, the Brotherhood was forced to withdraw into deep conspiracy by the Egyptian government. This resulted in the radicalization of the Muslim Brothers’ doctrine, which in the 1950s became revolutionary and anti-Nasser in character. This took place while the Brotherhood was headed by one of the main ideologists of Islamic fundamentalism - S. Kutb. Though the Brotherhood was an underground organization during the administrations of A. Sadat and H. Mubarak, it left its mark on the internal politics of Egypt. In the 1980s it became the main opposition force in this country. The Muslim Brotherhood was surprised by the sudden outbreak of the social protest in Egypt in 2011 and initially, as an organization, it did not participate in this protest, supporting the idea of operating within the parliamentary opposition. However, when the Muslim Brotherhood saw a chance for political change in Egypt, it joined theanti-government protests and supported the basic demand of the protesters, i.e. the resignation of the Egyptian President H. Mubarak. Though the Muslim Brothers joined the Arab Spring’s events late, theyacquired very strong social support which made it possible for them to return to legal politics and finally to seize power in Egypt. However, two years of their rule in Egypt did not improve the socio-economic situation in this country, and the political actions of ex-president M. Mursi headed towards the introduction of dictatorship. This resulted in a coup d’etat organized by the Egyptian army in 2013, which caused the removal of the Muslim Brothers from power again.
    Przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie roli Bractwa Muzułmańskiego w polityce Egiptu w XX wieku oraz analiza stanowiska i wpływu, jaki wywarło na wydarzenia Arabskiej Wiosny w 2011 roku. Bracia Muzułmanie od momentu założenia w 1928 roku są związani z muzułmańskim nurtem myśli politycznej określanym jako islamizm. Od początku swojego istnienia Bracia proponowali jako podstawę swojego programu społeczno-narodowego indologię islamu. Wykorzystywali go również do walki politycznej. Bractwo do końca lat czterdziestych XX w. kierowane przez swojego założyciela Hasana al-Bannę działało legalnie. Po jego śmierci w 1949 roku zostało zmuszone przez rządzących Egiptem do przejścia do głębokiej konspiracji. Konsekwencją tej sytuacji było zradykalizowanie doktryny Braci Muzułmanów, która w latach pięćdziesiątych XX w. przybrała charakter rewolucyjny i antynaserowski. Nastąpiło to w okresie kierowania Bractwem przez jednego z głównych ideologów radykalnego fundamentalizmu islamskiego, jakim był S. Kutb. Mimo że Bractwo w okresie rządów A. Sadata i H. Mubaraka działało w podziemiu, odcisnęło swoje piętno na polityce wewnętrznej Egiptu. W latach osiemdziesiątych XX w. stało się główną siłą opozycyjną tego kraju. Bractwo Muzułmańskie zostało zaskoczone nagłym wybuchem protestu społecznego w Egipcie w 2011 r. i początkowo jako organizacja w nim nie uczestniczyło, stojąc na stanowisku działania w ramach opozycji parlamentarnej. Jednak w momencie kiedy Bractwo Muzułmańskie dostrzegło szansę na zmiany polityczne w Egipcie, przyłączyło się do wystąpień antyrządowych i poparło podstawowe żądanie protestujących, jakim było ustąpienie prezydenta Egiptu H. Mubaraka. Mimo późnego włączenia się Braci Muzułmanów w wydarzenia Arabskiej Wiosny uzyskali oni bardzo duże poparcie społeczne, które umożliwiło im przejście do legalnej działalności politycznej i w końcu przejęcie władzy w Egipcie. Jednak dwa lata ich rządów w Egipcie nie poprawiły sytuacji społeczno-gospodarczej w tym kraju, a działania polityczne byłego prezydenta M. Mursiego zmierzały do wprowadzenia dyktatury. Ich konsekwencją był zamach stanu dokonany przez armię egipską w 2013 roku, który spowodował ponowne odsunięcie Braci Muzułmanów od władzy.

    Dynastia Haszymidów objęła władzę nad ziemiami obecnej Jordanii ponad 100 lat temu w 1921 roku. Po 1950 roku monarchia jordańska zmagała się z wielu zagrożeniami, zwłaszcza ze strony lewicy panarabskiej. Haszymidzi przez wiele dziesięcioleci traktowali umiarkowanych fundamentalistów muzułmańskich jako de facto sprzymierzeńców. Główna organizacja sunnickiego fundamentalizmu, Bractwo Muzułmańskie, była i jest do dziś w pełni legalna i prowadzi w królestwie działalność religijną, społeczną i polityczną. Po 1989 roku Bractwo Muzułmańskie stało się główną siłą polityczną Jordanii. Za panowania Abd Allaha II dwór jordański stara się ograniczyć siłę polityczną fundamentalistów. Umiarkowany islamizm pozostaje jednocześnie w pełni równoprawną częścią społeczeństwa. Równocześnie Jordania zdecydowanie zwalcza wszelkie nurty radykalnego islamizmu (dżhadyzmu). Król Abd Allah II zdecydowanie sprzeciwia się też wzrostowi wpływów Iranu w regionie.
    The dynasty of the Hashemite assumed power over the area of nowadays Jordan over 100 years ago, in 1921. After 1950 the Jordanian monarchy struggled with numerous threats, especially from the pan-Arabic left. In fact, for many decades the Hashemite treated moderate Muslim fundamentalists as allies. The main organisation of Sunni fundamentalism, the Muslim Brotherhood, was and still is fully legal and it is involved in religious, social and political activity. After 1989 the Muslim Brotherhood became the main political force in Jordan. During the reign of Abd Allah II the Jordanian court attempted to limit the political strength of fundamentalists and the moderate Islam has remained fully equal part of the Jordanian society. Simultaneously, Jordan has strongly combated all forms of radical Islamism (jihadism). King Abd Allah II is also strongly against the rising influence of Iran in the region.

    Pozornie sprzeczne, wzajemnie wykluczające się idee arabskiego nacjonalizmu oraz panarabizmu, w okresie dwudziestolecia wojennego występowały symultanicznie i stanowiły podwójny opór względem rosnącej na świecie dominacji państw Zachodu (Płanowski 2006: 252). Kiedy już w trakcie światowego konfliktu na konferencjach w Jałcie, Teheranie i Poczdamie przygotowywano grunt pod utworzenie nowego ładu w relacjach pomiędzy Stanami Zjednoczonymi, państwami Europy Zachodniej oraz ZSRR, w państwach arabskich dojrzewała koncepcja utworzenia dużej, wspólnej organizacji panarabskiej, realizującej ich partykularne interesy gospodarcze i polityczne. Drogą rozmów multilateralnych wypracowano model współpracy międzynarodowej o nazwie Liga Państw Arabskich, a od pierwszych dni istnienia owej organizacji szczególne miejsce zajęła w niej Arabska Republika Egiptu. Dokonując analizy systemowej i historycznej, w niniejszej publikacji zwrócono uwagę na działania, jakie podjął Egipt, które przyczyniły się do zrodzenia arabskiego nacjonalizmu. Podjęto również próbę odpowiedzi na pytania, dlaczego to właśnie Egipt – potocznie nazywany krajem faraonów – odegrał tak znaczącą rolę w krzewieniu idei panarabizmu w drugiej połowie XX w., jakie zastosował środki, aby zachować względną niezależność polityczną i gospodarczą w okresie kolonializmu, a także w jaki sposób przyczynił się do powstania Ligi Państw Arabskich i jakie zajął w niej miejsce.    
    Seemingly contradictory, mutually exclusive ideas of Arab nationalism and pan-Arabism occurred simultaneously during the twenty years of the war and constituted a double resistance to the growing domination of Western countries in the world (Płanowski 2006: 252). Once during the world conflict conference in Yalta, Tehran and in Potsdam, the ground for a new order in relations between the United States, Western European countries and the USSR was being prepared, in the Arab leadership the concept of a common organization, a common pan-Arab organization, pursuing their particular economic and political interests was developing. A model of cooperation called the League of Arab States was developed through the place of multilateral talks, from the first days of the existence of this organization of specific work in the Arab Republic of Egypt. In carrying out a systemic and historical analysis, unexpected attention was drawn to the action taken by Egypt that contributed to the birth of Arab nationalism attempt was also made to answer the questions why Egypt – known as the land of the pharaohs – played such a significant role in promoting the idea of pan-Arabism in the second half of the 20th century, as it used measures to release relative political and economic independence during the colonial period, as well as Relevant materials for the formation of the League of Arab States and what place it took in it.

    Under the pressure of social protests in 1989 in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Hussein I announced free elections. There was a revival of the system of constitutional monarchy, with a theoretically strong position of the Chamber of Deputies. Then, in 1989-1999 there was a struggle between the opposition and the monarch, who strived to maintain all real power. After 1989 the opposition was represented mainly by Islamic fundamentalists from the Muslim Brotherhood. King Hussein I managed to win the political struggle by using the tribal character of the society. The monarch maintained complete control over political processes, and the ideological opposition, both Islamic and leftist, was marginalized. However, thanks to that, the monarchy recognized real opposition, the multi-party system, and the freedom of speech. Thus, on the one hand, Jordan after 1989 has become one of the most liberal Arab states, but on the other hand, the monarch controls the parliament and the government.
    W Haszymidzkim Królestwie Jordanii w 1989 r. pod naciskiem protestów społecznych król Husajn I rozpisał wolne wybory. Nastąpił powrót do systemu monarchii konstytucyjnej teoretycznie z silną pozycją Izby Deputowanych. Następnie w latach 1989-1999 doszło do rywalizacji między starającym się zachować pełną władzę realną monarchą a opozycją. Opozycję po 1989 r. reprezentowali głównie fundamentaliści islamscy z Bractwa Muzułmańskiego. Król Husajn I wykorzystując specyfikę plemiennego społeczeństwa zdołał wygrać tą rozgrywkę polityczną. Monarcha zachował pełną kontrolę nad procesem politycznym, a ideowa opozycja tak islamistyczna, jak i lewicowa została zepchnięta na margines. Dzięki temu jednak monarchia zaakceptowała istnienie realnej opozycji, system wielopartyjny i znaczną wolność słowa. Z jednej strony więc Jordania po 1989 r. stała się jednym z najbardziej liberalnych państw arabskich, z drugiej monarcha w pełni kontroluje parlament i rząd.

    In the climate change context, controlling water sources is one of the most explosive challenges to the stability of the security environment. In its quasitotality, human civilization was born in the basins of the great rivers, which provided humans with both the basic survival and development resources and natural protection against invasions. Such a watercourse is the Nile, in whose basin the great Egyptian, Nubian and Ethiopian civilizations were born. If, until recently, Egypt was the main beneficiary of the Nile's ”gifts“, Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) project, still in construction on the Blue Nile, will radically change the status quo in region. How will GERD going to influence the regional hydro-policy? Is there any risk for a regional war outbreak? And, if the answer to the previous question is a positive one, what could be the impact of an Egyptian-Ethiopian conflict on regional security?

    Hasan at-Turabi jest jednym z kluczowych współczesnych islamskich myślicieli politycznych i zarazem inicjatorem sudańskiego islamizmu. Okres jego aktywności politycznej to jeden z ważniejszych momentów w historii Sudanu, związany z procesem islamizacji kraju, gwałtownymi przemianami sudańskiej sceny politycznej w powiązaniu z wpływami fundamentalizmu muzułmańskiego, głównie w wydaniu Stowarzyszenia Braci Muzułmanów. Artykuł prezentuje wpływ ideologii islamistycznej na kształtowanie się koncepcji państwa i porządku islamskiego w Sudanie pod przewodnictwem at-Turabiego i kierowanych przez niego czołowych formacji politycznych, w tym głównie Islamskiego Frontu Narodowego (IFN). Zostały także przedstawione elementy, które ukształtowały ten specyficzny islamizm – poza gwałtownymi zmianami w strukturach najwyższej władzy kraju są to m.in. wpływy sufickie, elementy przedmuzułmańskiej kultury oraz te bardziej radykalne zaczerpnięte z salafizmu, na których kształtował się światopogląd i przekonania at-Turabiego.
    Hassan al-Turabi is one of the key contemporary Islamic political thinkers and the initiator of Sudanese Islamism. The period of his political activity is also one of the most important moments in the history of Sudan, related to the process of Islamization of the country, rapid changes in the Sudanese political scene in connection with the influence of Muslim fundamentalism, mainly in the version of the Muslim Brotherhood. The article presents the influence of Islamist ideology on the shaping of the concept of the Islamic state and Islamic order in Sudan under the leadership of al-Turabi and leading political formations led by him, mainly the National Islamic Front (NIF). It presents also elements that shaped this specific form of Islamism – apart from the rapid changes in the structures of the highest power of the country, it was also Sufi influences, elements of pre-Muslim culture, and the more radical ones derived from Salafism, on which the worldview and beliefs of al-Turabi were shaped.

    Pierwsza część artykułu obejmuje uwarunkowania polityczne i społeczno-ekonomiczne, w jakich przyszło żyć Egipcjanom i jakie stanowiły istotne tło dla wydarzeń, które nastąpiły po 25 stycznia 2011 roku. Kolejne dwie traktują o takich kwestiach, jak polityczna mobilizacja i strategia, w tym zastosowanie taktyki protestu bez przemocy. Nie byłaby ona skuteczna, gdyby nie pewne okoliczności, których dziś możemy się jedynie domyślać. Ostatnia część mówi więc o istotnych okolicznościach sprzyjających osiągnięciu celu, jakim była dymisja prezydenta, a także o możliwym scenariuszu na niedaleką przyszłość. Tezą artykułu jest konstatacja, iż polityczna mobilizacja, której skutkiem był masowy protest oraz dymisja Hosniego Mubaraka, okazała się skuteczna dlatego, że towarzyszyło jej pęknięcie w łonie autorytarnego systemu władzy (armia kontra partia dominująca i technokraci) – związane z problemem prezydenckiej sukcesji (po upływie kolejnej kadencji ponad 80-letniego Mubaraka) i lansowanie na stanowisko przyszłej głowy państwa Gamala Mubaraka, reprezentującego interesy technokratów („reżimowej burżuazji”), a nie armii.
    The first part of the paper focuses on political and socio-economic conditions in Egypt, offering a crucial background for a better understanding of events that took place after 25 January 2011. The following two parts concentrate on issues such as political mobilization and strategy, including protest policy without using violence. Were it not for some circumstances one can only speculate about, it would not have been possible. The final part concerns the most significant events that helped achieve this very goal, i. e. the resignation of the President Hosni Mubarak, and possible future scenario. The main thesis is that political mobilization resulting in mass protests and deposition of Hosni Mubarak was successful because it was accompanied with a breakdown in the very heart of authoritarian system (army against dominating party and technocrats) – which was connected with a problem of presidential succession (after over 80- years long tenure of Mubarak), and with lobbying Gamal Mubarak, representing not army but technocrats (so-called ‘regime bureaucracy’), to become next head of the state.

    W dniu 28 stycznia 2011 r. mieszkańcy Kairu stanowczo sprzeciwili się dotychczasowej polityce rządu i zażądali ustąpienia sprawującego autokratyczną władzę prezydenta Hosniego Mubaraka. Do organizacji i partii politycznych, które rozpoczęły rywalizację o przejęcie władzy w kraju, przyłączyło się zdelegalizowane Stowarzyszenie Braci Muzułmanów – najstarsza islamska organizacja, której ideologów uważa się za współtwórców współczesnego terroryzmu, motywowanego dżihadem. Po zwycięstwie w demokratycznych wyborach reprezentujące Bractwo Muzułmańskie siły polityczne podjęły nieudaną próbę islamizacji kraju i zawłaszczenia władzy. Działalność Bractwa została zakazana, a jej liderzy i działacze aresztowani. W związku z trwającą dyskusją dotyczącą wpisania Bractwa Muzułmańskiego na listę zagranicznych organizacji terrorystycznych Departamentu Stanu USA przez administrację Donalda Trumpa warto przypomnieć historię oraz wpływ organizacji i jej głównych ideologów na rozwój islamskiego fundamentalizmu.
    After victory in democratic elections, political forces representing the Muslim Brotherhood made an unsuccessful attempt at Islamization of the country and the seizure of power. The activities of the Brotherhood were banned and its activists arrested. In addition, the new Egyptian authorities have recognized the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization. Premature identification of the organization as a terrorist organization by the West could cause unexpected results and lead to chaos in the already unstable Islamic world. This does not change the fact that the network of organizations and interconnections, established by the Association of Muslim Brothers, based on an ideology that not only justifies the use of terror, but actually calls for its use, gave rise to the movements and organizations that pose a threat to international security.

    Opis:
    Egypt and Syria have been important actors in the Middle East, a region of considerable geostrategic importance. This article analyses relations between the two countries after 2011 in the context of events related to the so-called Arab Spring. The first part of the study describes the common path Egypt and Syria took over the past millennia, which explains the significance of their mutual relations. In the section that follows, the author shows the destructive impact of processes related to the Arab Spring on relations between these countries, most notably the eruption of the Syrian conflict and the takeover of power in Egypt by the Muslim Brotherhood. Next, the article describes the impact of the fall of Islamists in Egypt in 2013. Although since then relations between the two countries have ceased to be hostile, efforts to repair them remain slow. The author argues that the reasons for this delay could be attributed to the pressures exercised by external actors.
    Египет и Сирия от над три тысячелетия представляют собой важная точка в ближневосточном регионе быть ключевое значение гэостратэгичнэ как в очередных исторических эпохах как и теперь. Этот статья демонстрирует анализ сообщения среди оба государств после 2011 г. в контексте событий связать с т. наз. Арабскую Весной. Первая часть разработки описывает общую дорогу Египта и Сирии за очередные тысячелетия что объясняет значение сообщению оба актеров. В более далекой части автор убеждает в разрушительной роли процессов связанных с т. наз. Арабскую Весной в складываться отношений между этими государствами, что у связи с начатием сирийского конфликта и принять владения Египтом Мусульманскую Компанией. В следующий очередности статья описывает влияние отодвиновения исламистов от владения Египтом на связи этого государства со Сирией. Несмотря на то, что сообщения оба государств перестают быть враждебное, их полная нормализация не наступает. Автор убеждает, что – это эффект действия внешних актеров. Взволнованные вопросы в этот статье представляют собой попытку понять обусловленность сообщения государств представляющих собой важную часть Ближнего Восток, быть одним из наиболее невралгических регионов на карте мира.

    Wystąpienia społeczne w świecie arabskim zapoczątkowane w Tunezji w styczniu 2011 roku diametralnie zmieniły układ sił w regionie. W zależności od kraju można zaobserwować różne formy społecznego nacisku na władzę i rozmaite reakcje rządzących na postulaty obywateli. Światowe media skupiły się na najbardziej spektakularnych i krwawych wydarzeniach, takich jak rewolucja w Egipcie, która doprowadziła do obalenia długoletniego prezydenta Hosniego Mubaraka czy wojna domowa w Libii, w wyniku której śmierć poniósł przywódca tego kraju Muammar Kaddafi. Wiele uwagi poświęcono również wydarzeniom w Tunezji, gdzie zapoczątkowano tzw. Arabską Wiosnę, jak również Syrii, w której nadal trwają krwawe starcia ludności z siłami rządowymi. Nieco rzadziej podnoszono kwestie związane z reformami w Maroku, protestami w Jemenie czy niepokojami w pozostałych państwach arabskich. Dynamiczny rozwój wydarzeń w poszczególnych krajach, a także zaangażowanie świata zachodniego w wydarzenia w regionie spowodował, że mniej uwagi poświęcono sytuacji w Autonomii Palestyńskiej i Izraelu, które od lat nie schodziły z pierwszych stron gazet. Nie ma jednak wątpliwości, że i tam Arabska Wiosna odcisnęła swoje piętno i miała ogromny wpływ na wydarzenia ostatniego roku. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie wpływu, jaki arabskie rewolty wywarły na graczy w Autonomii Palestyńskiej i Izraelu. Tekst prezentuje przyczyny i efekty poszczególnych działań, zmianę ich strategii i cele oraz możliwe skutki, jakie mogą przynieść społeczeństwom i rządom opisywanych podmiotów w najbliższej przyszłości. Tym samym pokazuje, w jaki sposób znacząca zmiana w regionalnej strukturze politycznych możliwości (McAdam i in. 1996, Wiktorowicz 2004, Gorlach i Mooney 2009) wpłynęła na transformacje w części Bliskiego Wschodu, gdzie z pozoru niewiele się zmieniło.
    Social turmoil in the Arab world, which began in Tunisia in January 2011, drastically changed the balance of power in the region. Depending on the country, we can observe various forms of social pressure on the authorities, and various reactions of rulers to citizens' demands. Media around the world focused on the most spectacular and bloody events such as revolution in Egypt, which led to overthrow of long-time president Hosni Mubarak, and Libya's civil war, which resulted in the death of it's leader – Muammar Kaddafi. Much attention was also devoted to events in Tunisia, where the so called Arab Spring started, as well as Syria, where there are ongoing violent clashes between government forces and civilian rebels. Less frequently, media reported upon reforms in Morocco, protests in Yemen, and unrest in other Arab countries. Dynamic development as well as involvement of the Western world in the events in individual countries and the region as a whole caused less attention to be paid to the situation between the Palestinian Authority and Israel, which always had made the media headlines. There is no doubt that the Arab Spring left its mark and had huge impact on the events upon these entities. The purpose of this article is to present what influence the Arab revolts had on players within Palestinian Authority and Israel. The text presents causes and effects of individuals’ actions, changes in strategies and goals, and the possible consequences that may come to the societies and governments of the described entities. It shows how the significant changes in regional structure of political opportunities (McAdam et al. 1996, Wiktorowicz 2004, Gorlach and Mooney 2009) contributed to transformations in the Middle East.
