Introduction and aim. Vasectomy was introduced in India in 1992 and is the most effective, simple, and safe permanent method of contraception yet its use is very limited among the population. The study’s objectives were to assess the knowledge, attitude, and perception towards vasectomy and the barriers to adoption among married men in Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Material and methods. A cross-sectional hospital-based study was conducted on married male attendants of patients and data were collected on sociodemographic details, knowledge regarding vasectomy, their attitude and perceptions towards vasectomy, and their intention of using vasectomy in the future. Results. Out of 300 participants, 258 (86%) participants have heard of vasectomy as a contraceptive method, and only one participant has undergone vasectomy. The majority (285; 95%) of the participants agreed that family planning is also a responsibility of males while nearly two-third (185; 61.7%) of them were not willing to undergo vasectomy in the future. Procedure-related factors, post-procedure-related factors, social factors, availability of alternate contraceptive methods, and preference for tubectomy were the barriers to the adoption of vasectomy. Conclusion. There is a need to provide correct information and counseling about vasectomy and non-scalpel vasectomy to eligible couples to increase the acceptance of vasectomy as a safe, effective, and cheaper method of contraception.

Nowadays, men are paying more and more attention to their appearance, and thus try to provide their skin with proper care so that it looks healthy and without signs of aging. In the present study, ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) and moringa oleifera (Moringa oleifera) were selected from the most popular adaptogens used in cosmetics, which are currently not commonly used in cosmetic preparations for men. The selected adaptogens were compared for their phytochemical and antioxidant properties to determine their skin care effects in cosmetics. The phytochemical content was evaluated through the determination of total phenolic content and in vitro antioxidant capacity was determined by DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) and ABTS{2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)} free radical scavenging tests. The total phenolic contents 1.81±0.13 and 0.14±0.02 mg GAE/g extract were found to be present in Moringa oleifera and Withania somnifera glycol-water extracts, respectively. Among the two chosen extracts, Moringa oleifera exhibited significant free radical scavenging activity, ABTS (0.964 ± 0.021 mg TE/g extract) and DPPH (0.822 ± 0.004 mg TE/g extract). It can be concluded that Moringa oleifera extract has strong antioxidant properties than Withania somnifera extract.

In the conditions of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, the issues of gender-based violence, discrimination based on gender and domestic violence are more acute than ever before the Ukrainian society. The war became the catalyst that caused not only an increase in cases of such violence, but also complicated the process of identifying and recording them. Despite the military actions, Ukraine continues to take decisive steps to overcome this problem, following the Euro-Atlantic and NATO course. Ukraine supports the policy of gender equality aimed at overcoming all forms of discrimination based on gender. Ukraine has recognized gender equality as one of the global standards – one of the basic principles of a democratic society, and strives to achieve real, factual equality between women and men. Evidence of this is the active implementation of international and European legislation and the implementation of its provisions in the practical activities of state bodies and institutions of all levels. In order to overcome gender stereotypes, education is actively developing, the institutional capacities of state bodies and institutions, and local self-government bodies are being strengthened. Alongside this, statistical research findings suggest that women still have limited access to decision-making in armed conflict, despite their disproportionate contribution to humanitarian aid, and that women remain under-represented in the security and defense sectors , in particular at the level of decision-making, including in military and civilian positions in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Police, in international operations to maintain peace and security. In view of the above, the issue of gender equality in the security and defense sector of Ukraine, in particular, in the bodies of the National Police, deserves special attention and remains relevant.

Opis:
Aim: The text focuses on the differences between male and female homelessness in the Czech Republic. Homeless men exhibit different characteristics in some respects compared to homeless women, and the above also applies to their chosen strategies of action in the context of living on the streets. Firstly, the known facts concerning the observed differences are presented in this paper in order to subsequently identify them in the statements of individual respondents. Methods: The data are collected through semi-structured interviews with homeless men. A total of 7 male respondents were contacted, and additionally 2 homeless women to illustrate the topic under study. Results: Attention was focused on the reasons that led to the interviewees becoming homeless, as well as on practices related to living on the streets and finally on possible barriers that prevent them from returning to the centre of society. Conclusions: The text is intended to lead to an understanding of the perspectives of homeless men that may be a barrier to help from society. At the end of the text, several recommendations are put forward which could help in the process of providing assistance.

In the conditions of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, the issues of equal rights of women and men, prevention and counteraction of any manifestations of discrimination, including on the basis of gender, require a comprehensive approach for their effective solution and consolidation of the efforts of all state and public institutions. Ukraine continues to take decisive steps to overcome this problem, following the Euro- Atlantic and NATO course. Ukraine supports the policy of gender equality aimed at overcoming all forms of discrimination based on gender. Ukraine has embraced gender equality as a fundamental global standard, a cornerstone of democratic societies. The nation is actively working towards attaining authentic and factual equality between women and men, underscoring its commitment to fostering a society where equal opportunities and rights are afforded to individuals of all genders. Evidence of this is the active implementation of international and European legislation and the implementation of its provisions in the practical activities of state bodies and institutions of all levels. In order to overcome gender stereotypes, education is actively developing, the institutional capacities of state bodies and institutions, local self-government bodies are being strengthened. Furthermore, statistical research indicates that women continue to face restricted access to resolutions in armed conflicts, despite their significant contributions to humanitarian efforts. Women remain underrepresented in key sectors like security and defense, particularly at decision-making levels. This includes both military and civilian roles within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Police, and international peacekeeping operations, highlighting an ongoing imbalance in gender representation within these critical areas. In view of the above, the issue of gender equality in the security and defense sector of Ukraine, in particular, in the bodies of the National Police, deserves special attention and remains relevant. The responsibility for implementing a cohesive state gender policy within the units of the National Police of Ukraine lies with the Human Rights Office of the General Inspection and Human Rights Department of the National Police of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the Human Rights Office). Despite the considerable volume of the legal framework outlining a diverse range of competences for the Human Rights Office as a subject of administrative and legal relations, it can be confidently stated that there has been no thorough examination of the regulatory and legal aspects governing the activities of the Human Rights Office in the field of implementing the unified state gender policy. This lack of comprehensive study contributes to the presence of numerous gaps in the legislative foundation of the Human Rights Office’s activities. All this actualizes the topic of the corresponding scientific research, testifies to its scientific and practical usefulness, taking into account the recent significant intensification of domestic law-making processes aimed at defining the legal foundations of gender equality and nondiscrimination, the integration of European and international legislation into domestic legislation.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie obrazu młodych mężczyzn w mediach społecznościowych. W badaniu wykorzystano metodę netnograficzną. Badania wchodzą w problematykę dotyczącą męskości wyrażonej za pomocą nowych mediów. Wykazano,że męscy użytkownicy Instagrama w badanej grupie częściowo utożsamiają się z cechami męskimi pojętymi tradycyjnie. Głównym ich problemem mogącym świadczyć o pewnej niedojrzałości jest przesunięty wiek poszukiwania partnerki życiowej.
The purpose of the article is to present the image of young men in social media. The study used the netnographic method. The presented research enters into the issue of masculinity expressed through new media. It has been shown that male Instagram users in the study group partially identify with traditionally understood masculine features. Their main problem, which may indicate a certain immaturity, is the shifted age of searching for a life partner.

This article is an ecocritical study of three of T. S. Eliot’s most notable works:“The Waste Land”, “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock”, and “The Hollow Men”. The poems are analyzed in detail and in relation with one another to highlight Eliot’s understanding of man’s relationship with nature through an elemental, ecomythical, and ecoreligious study. The article pursues a pattern in Eliot’s writing of a Man-Nature relationship as it focuses on the ways in which nature interacts with and influences man’s life, emotions, and faith.

The subject of the analyses in this article are food related articles addressed to men, published in the monthly “Men’s Health” in 2020. In order to encourage the readers to read texts related to broadly understood nutrition, the editors use the persuasive potential resulting from the combination of various functional styles. Colloquial, natural and casual style, which is typical of everyday communication, makes it easier to get closer to the readers, creates the impression of a close and friendly relationship and enters into a dialogue with them, while the scientific style promotes the credibility of the message and gives it a professional character. The way of providing metaphors, which is unusual for food related texts (war metaphor, automotive metaphor), as well as anthropomorphisms translate into the imagery character of the text and serve to familiarize the readers with a sphere of reality that is unknown to them.

Among the proposals for the implementation of the motu proprio Spiritus Domini and Antiquum Ministerium of Pope Francis (2021), opening the instituted ministries also to women and to lay people not on the way to ordination, the Note of the Italian Bishops’ Conference of June 2022, is certainly one of the most relevant with respect to the discernment, formation and conditions of access of candidates. By receiving a sacramental from the bishop in a community liturgy, for a perennial ministry at the service of the Word of God, the care of the body of Christ in the Eucharist and in the sick, as well as for Christian initiation and small base communities, the instituted ministers can contribute to the synodal revitalization of the ecclesial communion. Decreed ad experimentum for three years, the Italian document can inspire other Bishops’ Conferences around the world.

The study aimed to expand knowledge of the relationship between mindfulness trait and coping styles in stressful situations, taking into account gender differences. Based on previous research findings, it was expected that mindfulness would be positively associated with Active Coping and Seeking Support styles and negatively associated with Avoidant Coping and Helplessness styles. In addition, differences in levels of mindfulness and coping styles were expected between women and men, as well as a moderating effect of gender on the relationship between mindfulness and coping styles. The study included 259 participants. The Freiburg Mindfulness Inventory in the short version and the Mini-CO PE Inventory were used. A positive correlation was observed between the level of mindfulness and strategies from the Active coping group. A negative correlation between mindfulness and Helplessness strategies was also found. The results also showed that women had significantly lower levels of the mindfulness trait and a greater tendency to use the Support Seeking, Avoidant Behavior, and Helplessness styles than men. In addition, women with higher mindfulness had a lower tendency to use the Helplessness style, while this relationship was not significant for men. The study contributes to a better understanding of the relationship between mindfulness and stress coping by gender.

Opis:
Traditional folk clothing is an important element of regional culture and national heritage, but folk items of dress that document positively charged cultural interactions and interferences perpetuated also through, and in, language are crucial for native material heritage. There is no denying that the archaic, Belarusian-influenced attention-worthy – even in modern times – modest, yet elegant Bielsko-Hajnowski national dress belongs to the group of items of such traditional significance. Thus, the purpose of this article is an attempt at a linguocultural reconstruction of old men's clothing worn in villages near Bielsko Podlaskie and Hajnówka, verbalized in two ethnographic popular studies by Elżbieta Piskorz-Branekova and Jarosław Górski. On the basis of the "linguistic data" that was recorded in them and incorporated into descriptions packed with linguistic details, it was possible to reconstruct the specifics of the formerly worn men's costume of Bielsko-Hajnówka consisting of: 1) different headwear, such as straw hats, Maciejówka caps, and sheepskin caps; 2) different types of trousers including ones made of homespun materials, urban cut trousers, and breeches; 3) different outer garments such as cloth shirts with a border cut, burqas, and sheepskins 4) various types of footwear, inlcuding summer footwear made of jute, valances, shoes with uppers, and slippers; 5) foot-wrapping puttees; 6) various accessories such as selvedges, and rectangular leather belts; and 7) embroidered decorative ornaments.
Tradycyjny ubiór ludowy to istotny element kultury regionalnej i spuścizny narodowej. Dla rodzimego dziedzictwa materialnego ważne są te ludowe artefakty, które dokumentują pozytywnie nacechowane interakcje i interferencje kulturowe utrwalone również poprzez język i w języku. Do grupy takich tradycyjnych desygnatów należy z pewnością, godny uwagi także współcześnie, mało znany, archaiczny, skromny, ale elegancki, powstały pod wpływem białoruskim, jeden z najciekawszych męskich północnokresowych ubiorów – strój bielsko-hajnowski. Celem rozważań jest zatem próba lingwokulturologicznej rekonstrukcji dawnej męskiej odzieży noszonej we wsiach okolic Bielska Podlaskiego i Hajnówki, zwerbalizowanej w dwóch etnograficznych opracowaniach popularnonaukowych autorstwa Elżbiety Piskorz-Branekovej i Jarosława Górskiego. Na podstawie utrwalonych w nich „danych językowych” wkomponowanych w pełne językowych detali / językowych szczegółów opisy udało się odtworzyć specyfikę noszonego dawniej męskiego stroju bielsko-hajnowskiego współtworzonego przez: 1) różne nakrycia głowy, jak: kapelusze ze słomy, czapki maciejówki, czapki baranie; 2) różne typy spodni, jak: spodnie z samodziałów, spodnie o kroju miejskim, bryczesy; 3) różne okrycia wierzchnie, jak: płócienne koszule o kroju przyramkowym, burki, letniki, kożuchy, żupnice; 4) różne rodzaje obuwia, jak: łapcie, walanki, buty z cholewami, trzewiki; 5) owijające stopy onuce; 6) różne dodatki, jak: krajki, prostokątne paski skórzane; 7) haftowane ornamenty dekoracyjne.
Традыцыйны народны ўбор – важны элемент рэгіянальнай культуры і нацыянальнай спадчыны. Для роднай матэрыяльнай спадчыны важныя народныя артэфакты, якія дакументуюць станоўча адзначаныя культурныя ўзаемадзеянні і інтэрферэнцыю, зафіксаваныя таксама праз мову і ў мове. Да групы такіх традыцыйных абазначэнняў, безумоўна, належыць і сучасны, малавядомы, архаічны, сціплы, але элегантны, створаны пад беларускім уплывам, адзін з самых цікавых мужчынскіх строяў паўночнага памежжа – бельска-гайнаўскі. Такім чынам, мэтай разгляду з'яўляецца спроба лінгвакультуралагічнай рэканструкцыі старога мужчынскага адзення, якое насілі ў вёсках наваколляў Бельска-Падляскага і Гайнаўкі, вербалізаванай у двух этнаграфічных навукова-папулярных даследаваннях: Эльжбеты Піскаж-Бранековай і Яраслава Гурскага. На аснове замацаваных у іх "моўных дадзеных", уключаных у поўныя лінгвістычных дэталяў апісанні, удалося ўзнавіць спецыфіку бельска-гайнаўскага мужчынскага строя, які насілі раней: 1) розныя галаўныя ўборы, такія, як капелюшы з саломы, шапкі-мацееўкі, баранавыя шапкі; 2) розныя тыпы штаноў, як даматканыя штаны, штаны гарадскога крою, брыджы; 3) розныя верхнія апранахі, як палатняныя кашулі з аблямоўкай, буркі, летнікі, кажухі, жупніцы; 4) розныя тыпы абутку, як лапці, валёнкі, боты з халявамі, чаравікі; 5) анучы для абкручвання ног; 6) розныя аксэсуары, як пругі, прамавугольныя скураныя рамяні; 7) вышытыя дэкаратыўныя арнаменты.

Niniejszy artykuł otwiera planowany cykl publikacji na temat współczesnego rynku prasy motoryzacyjnej w Polsce. W tym inicjującym opracowaniu, skupiono się na analizie popularnego miesięcznika o ogólnomotoryzacyjnym charakterze, „Auto Motor i Sport”. Zasadniczym celem pracy było scharakteryzowanie oraz próba klasyfikacji wymienionego periodyku. Postawiono następujące pytania badawcze: czy i w jaki sposób analizowany periodyk realizuje funkcje przypisane tego rodzaju prasie? jak zaprojektowana jest jego makieta? jakie treści publikowane są na jego łamach i tym samym, co wyróżnia zawartość tego tytułu na tle innych? W jaki sposób przedstawiano testy samochodów na łamach wybranego periodyku? jakiego rodzaju i jakie marki pojazdów testowano? do jakiej z proponowanych grup zaklasyfikować można analizowany periodyk? Aby odpowiedzieć na tak postawione pytania, w badaniach skorzystano przede wszystkim z metody analizy zawartości prasy, ale także z metody analizy i krytyki piśmiennictwa, metody historycznej oraz statystycznej. Podstawą analizy było 36 numerów wydanych w latach 2018–2020 (po 12 numerów na rok).
This article opens the planned series of publications on the contemporary automotive press market in Poland. In this initiating study, the focus was on the analysis of the popular general-automotive monthly, “Auto Motor i Sport”. The main purpose of the work was to characterize and attempt to classify the periodical. The following research questions were posed: whether and how the analyzed periodical performs the functions assigned to this type of press? how is its mock-up designed? what content is published on its pages and thus what distinguishes the content of this title from others? How were car tests presented in the selected periodical? what kind and what brands of vehicles were tested? which of the proposed groups can the analyzed periodical be classified into? In order to answer these questions, the research used primarily the method of analyzing the content of the press, but also the method of analyzing and criticizing the literature, as well as the historical and statistical methods. The analysis was based on 36 issues published in 2018–2020 (12 issues per year).

The article presents the personality and spirituality of the Polish soldier, Colonel Łukasz Ciepliński (1913–1951), as a personal role model for contemporary men. The main source is secret messages written by him from a prison cell, which are an extremely valuable document about this character. The article presents the personality and male characteristics of a Polish officer: internal integration, maturity, bravery, care for others. There are also signs of the great respect he had for family values, for he was himself a husband and father. Another issue is his Christian spirituality: in suffering, like many prominent figures of the Church, he shows an extraordinary increase in theological virtues (faith, hope and love) as well as union with Christ and readiness for martyrdom.

Institutions and organizations that constitute Polish feminist movement acting in Poland after 1989 can be classified in many ways. One of them is isolating government and non-government subjects based on the criteria of founding body and the sources of financing the activities. Only public institutions formed at the initiative of government departments and supervised by them are the subject of the analysis undertaken for preparation of hereby paper. The main focus of the paper is the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Treatment appointed by the Prime Minister. The title, competence and methods of legal recognition of the Office has changed multiple times after the political transformation.
Instytucje i organizacje, które składają się na polski ruch feministyczny funkcjonujący w Polsce po 1989 r., można sklasyfikować na wiele sposobów. Jednym z nich jest wyodrębnienie podmiotów o charakterze rządowym oraz pozarządowym, na podstawie kryterium jednostki założycielskiej oraz źródła finansowania ich działalności3. Przedmiotem analizy podjętej na potrzeby przygotowania niniejszego tekstu stały się wyłącznie instytucje publiczne, powstałe z inicjatywy organów administracji rządowej i im podlegające. Skoncentrowano się na powoływanym przez Prezesa Rady Ministrów urzędzie pełnomocnika rządu do spraw związanych z równym traktowaniem4, którego zarówno nazwa, jak i kompetencje oraz sposób usankcjonowania prawego, zmieniały się po transformacji ustrojowej wielokrotnie.
