Opis:
The paper will offer a reading of John Akomfrah’s The Nine Muses (2010), a 90-minute experimental feature film that has been defined as “one of the most vital and original artistic responses to the subject of immigration that British cinema has ever produced” (Mitchell). It will focus on the multifarious ways in which the film makes the “canonical” literary material that it incorporates, including Shakespeare, interact with rarely seen archival material from the BBC regarding the experience of Caribbean and South Asian immigrants in 1950s and 1960s Britain. It will argue that through this interaction the familiarity of Western “canonical” literature re-presents itself as an uncanny landscape haunted by other stories, as a language that is already in itself the “language of the other” (Derrida). In particular, it will claim that Shakespearean fragments are often used in an idiosyncratic way, and they repeatedly resonate with some of the most fundamental ethical and political issues of the film, such as the question of England as “home” and migration. The paper will also argue that the decontextualization and recontextualization of these fragments makes them re-emerge as part of an interrogation of the mediality of the medium, an interrogation that also offers insights into the circulation of Shakespeare in the contemporary mediascape.

Opis:
The purpose of this paper is to establish an experimental model of new media using theoretical approach. After investigating numerous interpretations of new media, the paper offers a metaphor-based framework to guide you in the jungle of concepts. According to the hypothesis, the metaphor of interference supports the development of a theoretical model including the concepts of crossmedia, transmedia and intermedia. Therefore, the zooming interference model and its illustrating case studies are going to be available to interpret the dimensions of new media also with a visualized version. The model supports a dynamic approach to academic discussions and a software development to study the changing new media.

Opis:
Digitization and technology interference influence the living conditions of the young generation and their perception of privacy and private identity. Social media is changing the way internet users obtain and share information and digital narratives about family members. One of the groups most affected by such actions is minors. People are not sufficiently aware of the consequences of their actions in this regard, as these might have a negative impact on the emotional, social and intellectual development of a child or young person as they do not have any control over the information being published online. The problem is even more serious as the minimum age limit for granting consent to the processing of personal data has not been set (neither the current legal system nor the GDPR has laid down such an age limit). The current legislation de facto allows legal guardians to deny minors entrusted to their care the right to privacy, thus giving rise to digital abduction, personal identity theft or cyberbullying of minors who should be enjoying legal protection against any form of harm. The paper analyses the content and type of information social media users share, in particular sensitive data, using qualitative scientific methods. In this regard, the paper researches the possibilities of implementing the existing legal framework with a view to propose legal and social mechanisms to increase the protection of a specific category of data subjects in the context of the „need to know“ principle.
