Opis:
This paper presents simulation models of a grid-connecting converter for photovoltaic applications using MATLAB/Simulink’s Simscape SimPowerSystems toolbox. Manufacturers of these converters often do not provide any information related to the topology and control algorithms, thus impeding the modeling. Simulation models of two possible topologies of SVM based current controlled three-phase converters are shown and compared. The simulation results are compared to a 9.6 kW rooftop PV plant built in Novi Sad, Serbia, by connecting a corresponding PV array model at the input of the converter models. Simulation results have shown, that the created models produce results similar to the physical system, and that both modelled topologies are possible and viable to implement.

Opis:
The torsional vibrations that occur in the motorcycle steering system pose a significant problem for motorcyclist's safety. These vibrations are particularly conspicuous in the motorcycles operated with high dynamic loads, where the impact of freeplay and friction emerges due to mechanical wear. The vibrations generated in the motorcycle steering system in the presence of freeplay and friction have peculiar nonlinear nature typical of stick-slip processes. Due to the threshold-like phenomena reflected in the nonlinearities related to freeplay and friction, it is difficult to simulate the behaviour of such systems and comprehensive preliminary research must be first carried out for this purpose. In this paper, simulation tests of the torsional vibrations that occur in a simplified equivalent model of the steering system (torsional pendulum) have been described. A mathematical model of the system has been given, inclusive of an original method of generating external inputs. Computer software developed in the Matlab-Simulink environment has been presented. The impact of computational procedures on simulation results, including impact of the method used to implement the slick-slip model in the simulation program, impact of the type of the algorithms used to integrate differential equations, and impact of the preset numerical parameters, has been analysed.

Opis:
This paper presents the experimental research and simulating results of a ZM130 hydrodynamic torque converter under steady and unsteady working conditions with an external step signal and sinus on turbine’s shaft on a modified test bench. The mathematical model of torque converter was described by the one-dimensional flow theory with variable loss coefficients. The character of received equations from test bend showed by linearized transmittance functions with variable coefficients. For test bend object identification researches will be used an Identification Toolbox from a mathematical code in Matlab, which enables to create transfer functions as a linear model from measurements data as they got the highest correctness level with input signal (as they get the best correction level with input signal on the pump´s shaft). This mathematical model for dynamic loads will be verified by experimental tests. The aim of the carried out studies was determination the effect of sampling time decreasing on the quality of measured parameters. Results of present investigations were compared with those obtained earlier, but for the same input signals .It is possible to affirm that proposed theoretical model imitates the change of dynamic parameters, and the same the property of the torque converter. Researches led on the test bend with extortion input torque sinus signal on the turbine’s shaft confirmed correctness of this model.

Do sterowania sterem tylnym elek-trowni wykorzystano regulator rozmyty. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań symulacyjnych układu regulacji elektrowni wiatrowej przy słabych i silnych podmuchach wiatru.

This paper presents the method of calculation of the electric and magnetic fields under overhead transmission line with any number of circuits, phase positions, voltages and current loads. Calculations of this type usually require specialized and costly programs. The program EMTP/ATP is a royalty free tool to calculate the electric transient and steady states in complex power systems. You can use this program and through appropriate modeling the multi-phase wire system representing the line and measurement device calculate the strength of the electric and magnetic fields. The results of calculations are characterized by a very small error compared to the results obtained by using the specialized commercial program. This method can be used with other popular engineering tools like Matlab/Simulink or PSCad.

Rigid mounting of machines to a solid base is one of the requirements for high performance and quality of production. Machine vibrations occur as a result of unbalanced revolving masses, loading forces and moments, starting and coasting of driving motors and other effects. We try to eliminate these undesirable vibrations by suitable mounting of the machine and its parts as much as possible. Suitable mounting of the machine is possible using components such as torsion springs, pneumatic springs, rubber pads or other components. The article describes numerical calculation of optimal displacements the machine for the given his parameters.

Opis:
Frequency dependence values of input or mutual mechanical impedances of vibrating machines and their parts can be measured using an impedance hammer and a two-channel frequence analyzer. The knowledge of the frequency response of mechanical impedance provides for the determination of properties of vibration energy transmission in the structure of the machine based on which it is possible to adjust the mounting arrangement of the machine and its parts in order to attenuate vibrations. The obtained data concerning the dynamicbehaviour of the machine then serve as a basic for a proper design and implementation of elastic mounting of the machine and its parts on damping elements which attenuate unwanted vibrations to the minimum. The design consists in assembling a model of the machine assuming that elastic mounting has been provided for, describing the model using equations of montion and elaborating their numerical solution. An efficient damping arrangement is achieved by mounting the vibrating parts of the machine using air springs. The air pressure in the air springs can be regulated according to deflections of the individual machine parts measured by accelerometers using a control element. The numeric solution provides for determination of values of stiffness coefficients k and damping coefficient c which would be optimal for the specified machine parameters in order to minimise the defections of the individual machine parts.

Mobility of the robot depends on the vehicle dimensions, locomotion principles and wheel characteristics. The function of the wheel is to carry the load and to produce the traction force. The main factors of wheel terrain interaction are bearing capacity of ground, traction performance of the wheel and geometry of terrain profile. In this paper the system and control concepts of the wheeled robot is discussed in more detail, within the framework provided by the wheel terrain contact model. The dynamic model of the wheeled robot is presented by considering contact forces of the wheel due to their relative motion of the wheel and contact plane. Finally, a dynamic relation is introduced and results are presented in terms of forces, torques and displacements related to wheel terrain interaction. To estimate the forces in the system arising from the interaction between a deformable wheel and rigid terrain using the software package Ansys 10.0. Simulations were performed using Matlab- Simulink program and the results are shown that the proposed controller can overcome the influences the effect of contact forces in order to achieve the desired trajectory.

Opis:
The use of direct drives in linear and rotary axes as well as increased power density of main drives offer the potential to raise feet rate, acceleration and thus allow higher productivity of machine tools. The induced heat flow rates of these drives could lead to thermo-elastic deformations of precision related machine tool components. In order to reduce thermally caused displacements of the tool-center-point and to prevent a negative impact on the achievable accuracy, the induced heat flow rates of main drives must be dissipated by effective cooling systems. These systems account for a major share of the machine tool’s total energy consumption. With the intention to overcome the area of conflict regarding productivity and energy efficiency, a so called thermoelectric self-cooling system has been developed. To convert a proportion of thermal losses into electrical energy, thermoelectric generators are placed in the heat flow between the primary part of a linear direct drive and the cooling system. The harvested energy is directly supplied to a pump of the water cooling circuit, which operates a decentralised cooling system with reasonable coolant flow rates. For predicting the thermoelectric system behaviour and to enable a model-based design of thermoelectric self-cooling systems, a thermal resistance network as a system simulation in MATLAB/Simulink is presented. The model is applied to a feed unit with a linear direct drive and allows the calculation of harvested energy as well as the simulation of steady and transient states of the cooling system. The comparison of simulative and experimental determined data indicates a predominantly high model prediction accuracy with short simulation times. At an early stage of development the model turns out to be a powerful tool for design and analysis of water flow thermoelectric self-cooling systems.
