The aim of this study was to find out whether Masters class swimming affects strength disproportion and if there is a correlation between the length of sport swimming training in Masters swimmer’s past (SST) and strength parameter’s deficits? Eighteen Masters category swimmers affiliated in Szczecin Masters Team (178.3 ±2.28 m; 77.9 ±2.86 kg) participated in the study. Isokinetic strength measurement was made on Biodex S4 dynamometer. Subjects performed shoulder flexion/extension moves: 3 repetitions – 60 deg/sec and 20 repetitions – 180 deg/sec. Following values were used: peak torque (PT), maximal repetition work (MRW), coefficient of variation (COV), total work (TW), average power (AP), agonist to antagonist ratio (AG:AN). None of the investigated variables were statistically significant in side to side comparison. All of the parameters were higher in extension. Also, no statistically significant difference between sides in AG:AN. Moderate positive correlation was found between SST and PT deficit in extension movement (0.420). Also low positive correlation between SST and PT deficit in flexion (0.396), and MRW deficit in extension (0.352). Masters class swimming did not affect side strength disproportion or agonist to antagonist differences. However, it is possible that swimming training in other categories does.

The World Masters Games (WMG) are an international, multi-sport event which, in terms of competitor numbers, is the world’s largest. The purpose of this manuscript was to summarize research to date that has been conducted on the WMG cohort. This paper also reports a descriptive and analytical overview of this large sample to document aspects of demographics and health indices for this population. Masters athletes demonstrated significant improvements in health related indices over age matched comparative national populations. Notable among these improvements were body mass index and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors for the majority of participants, with female WMG participants presenting improved scores for CVD risk factors (blood pressure and high density lipoproteins, p < 0.05) and body mass index (p < 0.05) when compared to males. There were also improved lifestyle behaviors such as reduced smoking. A concern was improved health indices might be negated by increased injury from competitive sport at older ages, however findings did not support the premise of masters football code athletes having higher incidence of injury compared to younger athletes. With improved health indices associated with masters competition, it is relevant when promoting physical activity at older ages that the most motivating factor behind participation was socialization with others.

The article is devoted to the analysis of academic diploma theses: bachelor’s and master’s, carried out in the course of 1st and 2nd degree Romance Philology between 2005-2017 in the perspective of reflective practice. Based on the assumption of the pre-scientific character of the diploma thesis and the resulting imperative of objectivity, the aim of the article is to examine the traces of subjectivity present in the language of the diploma theses. The subject of interest is both subjectivity expressed in 1 singular person, but above all other, less obvious, more “constructed” forms (e.g. metaphors, expressive use of adjectives), which express the emotional commitment of the author of the work. In conclusion, the analysis of the works shows a conflict of paradigms: the scientific imperative of objectivism with the desire to express emotions aroused by literature, and in this indirect way, also to express one’s self and personality.

On the basis of historical sources and stylistic construction comparative studies, the following hypothetical statements can be formulated about the biography of Master John. He was born around or before 1350 and probably trained as a stonemason in Bohemia. About 1374 he was probably appointed by bishop Henry (of the diocese of Ösel Wiek in Livonia) to build the residence in Arensburg, where there can be found numerous stylistic and conceptual parallels to the Grand Master’s Palace. After the capture and later murder of the bishop in 1380, in which the Teutonic Order was involved, Master John moved to Malbork Castle, where he was commissioned by Winrich von Kniprode to build the new Grand Master’s Palace. He supervised this building process until its completion (the painting of the interiors in 1397) and, at the same time, designed the town hall of Malbork. Also the secondary residence of the Grand Master in Sztum could have been a creation of Master John. From 1398 to 1406 Master John was the architect of the Teutonic Order’s castle in Bytów. With his unconventional architectural creations in the field of castle building, Master John occupied an outstanding position within the Central European “Reduction Gothic”. His was an independent and highly creative artistic personality, able to go beyond existing traditions and find new individual ways of doing things. Master John can thus be put on a par with other exceptional architects of his time (Peter Parler, Ulrich von Ensingen, Hans von Burghausen, and Madern Gerthener).

The labour market in any field becomes more and more demanding and specialized, professional. For a more efficient absorption of graduates, the professional environment requires both advanced theoretical knowledge and practical abilities. During the study period, based on rational mechanisms, students form a perception related to the probability of finding an adequate job. In this article we model the constructed perceptions through Ordered Logit models. The application regards 88 students from two Romanian universities. The programme they are involved in is called “The Audit and Financial Management of European Funds”. The results obtained are in accordance with the logical mechanisms evidenced in the theoretical part. The explanatory variables that are statistically significant relate both to the scholarly results and to the student’s status on the labour market. The conclusions drawn are not limited only to the evaluated sample. They are easy to generalize, with necessary changes, to any university specialization.

The paper analyses the almost complete absence of Polish RPG designers from OneBookShelf’s community content programs for various tabletop RPG systems, proposing an explanation for this absence based on the development of the RPG fandom in Poland. A part of the argument is concerned with a relatively weak position of Dungeons & Dragons in Poland compared to the English market and with the Polish RPG players’ lack of interest in the market of digital materials for tabletop RPGs. The main hypothesis, however, connects the Polish absence from community content programs with how the long absence of professional systems and the permanently small market of commercial RPGs in Poland might have increased the intensity of prosumption of RPGs among Polish fans but simultaneously limited their chance to gain skills and knowledge necessary to publish and market the results of this prosumption on a professional or semi-professional level. Statements of Jan Sielicki – the only Polish RPG designer who published numerous and successful supplements under community content programs – are quoted to reinforce this hypothesis and show how Sielicki gained the necessary skills outside of the Polish RPG fandom.
Artykuł analizuje nieomal zupełny brak udziału polskich projektantów gier fabularnych w programach community content otworzonych przez OneBookShelf dla różnych systemów RPG i proponuje wyjaśnienie tego stanu warunkami rozwoju fandomu gier fabularnych w Polsce. Jako częściowa przyczyna zasugerowana jest pozycja Dungeons & Dragons na polskim rynku RPG, słabsza niż na rynku anglojęzycznym, i niskie zainteresowanie polskich graczy rynkiem cyfrowych materiałów do narracyjnych gier fabularnych. Główne przypuszczenie łączy jednak brak polskiego udziału w programach community content z długą nieobecnością profesjonalnie wydawanych gier fabularnych na krajowym rynku RPG oraz jego trwającą do dzisiaj niewielką skalą. Czynniki te mogły zintensyfikować prosumpcję gier fabularnych wśród ich polskich fanów, ale zarazem ograniczyły ich szanse na zdobycie umiejętności i wiedzy potrzebnych, by publikować i sprzedawać efekty tej prosumpcji na (pół)profesjonalnym poziomie. Opinie Jana Sielickiego – jedynego polskiego projektanta RPG publikującego liczne i dobrze przyjęte dodatki w ramach programów community content – wzmacniają to przypuszczenie i pokazują, jak Sielicki zdobył potrzebne umiejętności poza polskim fandomem narracyjnych gier fabularnych.

The literature about composer Wojciech Łukaszewski includes two books, nine scholarly articles, five theses, over 80 newspaper articles and web pages. The book by M. Łukaszewski (ed. WSP, Częstochowa 1997) contains a description of the life history and memories of W. Łukaszewski as well as a thematic catalogue of Łukaszewski’s works. The book Musical Interludes is the first, complete edition of the collected journalistic work of Łukaszewski, which covers 126 reviews and 7 interviews. So far, nine scientific articles about Łukaszewski have appeared in scholarly journals in Częstochowa, Katowice, Bydgoszcz and Warsaw. Bibliographic entries about Łukaszewski are inscribed in: Musical Encyclopedia of PWM, the dictionary Polish Composers between 1918-2000, Lexicon of Polish Music Teachers, International Who’s Who in Music and Musicians and others. The question of the master-disciple relationship is highlighted in Le Maître de Santiago (The Master of Santiago) of Montherlant by a theatricalization of the transmission. Lively and tense dialogue, conflicting situations and divergent points of view undermine family and friend relations as well as ideological affinities. For the 1519 Spaniards the chance to go to America is a golden opportunity. This frantic race behind the gain that uses evangelism as a pretext, seduces the knights of the Order of Santiago, but greatly displeases their leader. The focus of this dramatization on the dispute in question allows us to identify the figures of masters, those of disciples and, through their relations, the affirmed values. Alvaro Dabo, who acts as a guide to the Order of Santiago, is undoubtedly the main figure of master. By cultivating the paradox and opposing the desire of his peers, he does not set himself up as a transmitter of good-manners and of know-how, but he nevertheless manages to formulate the values to which he is attached: nobility of soul, generosity, humility. The disciples are divided into five categories. The "Aristotelian" figure (Bernal and Vargas) comments and interprets the master's speech. The "Epicurean" figure (Olmeda) aims to achieve happiness. The parricide disciple wants to eliminate Alvaro. Letamendi is the embodiment of a bad student. Mariana, the incarnation of the master’s "alter ego", looks like the master without being his pale copy. Being tense, the relations that govern the two instances give a dynamic to the process of transmission. Alvaro tries to confine himself to silence, but before disappearing he wants to transmit his message. Two essential values constitute its content: history teaches us that one must be distrustful of negative forces; commitment requires moral qualities such as self-sacrifice and charity. Montherlant approves of his character's condemnation of colonization but he does not adhere to his extremism. 
La question du rapport maître-disciple est mise en évidence dans Le Maître de Santiago de Montherlant par une théâtralisation de la transmission. Dialogue vif et tendu, situations conflictuelles et divergences de points de vue ébranlent aussi bien les relations familiales et amicales que les affinités idéologiques. Pour les Espagnols de 1519 partir en Amérique est une aubaine. Cette course effrénée derrière le gain qui utilise l’évangélisation comme prétexte séduit les chevaliers de l’Ordre de Santiago mais elle déplaît énormément à leur chef. La focalisation de cette dramatisation sur le différend en question permet de dégager les figures du maître, celles du disciple et, à travers leurs relations, les valeurs affirmées. Alvaro Dabo, qui agit en tant que guide de l’Ordre de Santiago, est sans conteste la principale figure du maître. En cultivant le paradoxe et en s’opposant au désir de ses pairs, il ne s’érige pas en passeur de savoir-vivre et de savoir-faire, mais il parvient tout de même à formuler les valeurs auxquelles il est attaché : noblesse d’âme, générosité, humilité. Les disciples se répartissent en cinq catégories. La figure « aristotélicienne » (Bernal et Vargas) commente et interprète le discours du maître. La figure « épicurienne » (Olmeda) vise à atteindre le bonheur. Le disciple « parricide » souhaite éliminer Alvaro. Letamendi est l’illustration du mauvais élève. Mariana, incarnation de l’« alter ego », tient du maître sans en être une pâle copie. Tendues, les relations qui régissent les deux instances confèrent une dynamique au processus de transmission. Alvaro cherche à se murer dans le silence, mais il tient à transmettre avant de disparaître. Deux valeurs essentielles constituent la teneur de son message : l’histoire nous enseigne qu’il faut être méfiant à l’égard des forces négatives, l’engagement requiert des qualités morales telles que le sacrifice de soi et la charité. Montherlant approuve chez son personnage la condamnation de la colonisation, mais il n’adhère pas à son extrémisme.

In the Italian academic discourse research, Master’s degree theses used to be studied mainly from the perspective of linguistic competencies of their authors. However, strictly linguistic skills are not the only challenge for undergraduate, who must also convey intellectual content in appropriate discursive and rhetorical forms. The paper explores the patterns of a peculiar form of “collaborative writing”, i.e. the cooperation between the thesis supervisor and the student. Using the example of Master’s theses in lin- guistics, written in Italian as a foreign language, three basic didactic approaches are discussed in the paper. In the didactics of content the supervisors emphasize knowledge, i.e. linguistic concepts expected to be applied in a Master’s thesis. In the didactics of forms, the supervisors focus on the linguistic code, that  is, on grammatical and lexical correctness of the Master’s thesis. In the didactics of forms of content the supervisors use regularities observed in academic discourse, such as genre and rhetorical structures, as valuable teaching resources likely to help students develop metacommunicative awareness.

Opis:
The article deals with the system of legal education in the Czech Republic. It briefly describes four public law schools and their history. It also analyzes basic study programmes which are provided by these law schools. The third part of the article describes the main legal professions and their prerequisites.
