    W artykule zostały zaprezentowane wątki maryjne w katechezie parafialnej i przedsięwzięciach pastoralnych w polskich parafiach. Autorzy ukazali znaczenie parafii oraz rolę mariologii w przekazie katechetycznym. Została zwrócona uwaga zarówno na aspekt pobożnościowy, jak i formacyjny nauczania. W dalszej części przedstawiono wyniki sondażu dotyczącego form kultu maryjnego i uczestnictwa w nich dzieci oraz młodzieży, a także maryjny profil ich formacji w parafialnych grupach. Badania pokazały, iż parafialne wspólnoty skupiają tyko niewielki odsetek dzieci i młodzieży, natomiast większą frekwencją cieszą się formy pobożności i kultu maryjnego w parafiach. Analiza poszczególnych grup wykazała, że ważne jest odpowiednie przygotowanie animatorów i liderów poszczególnych wspólnot nie tylko o charakterze maryjnym.
    The article presents Marian motives in parish catechesis and pastoral projects in Poland. The importance of the parish and the role of mariology in catechesis were depicted at first. Attention was paid to both the piety aspect and the teaching about Mary. The paper discusses the results of the survey in 26 selected Polish Catholic parishes on the forms of Marian devotion and the participation of children and young people in Marian services (like the rosary, Rorate Mass, pilgrimages to Marian shrines) as well as the Marian profile of parish groups especially for children and young people. The research has shown that parish groups gather only a small percentage of children and young people, while various forms of Marian devotion in parishes enjoy a higher turnout. The analysis has also stressed the importance of a proper preparation of parish communities leaders as far as the Marian aspect of their activity is concerned.

    Pobożność ludowa sytuuje się na styku teologii i kultury ludowej. Pierwsza określa treść pobożności, druga jej formy. Pobożność ludowa okazuje się kulturową przestrzenią naszej wiary. W ramach teologii ważna jest mariologia – nauka teologiczna o Matce Pana, stąd też w centrum pobożności ludowej, co znamienne dla warunków polskich, staje pobożność maryjna. Wymaga ona starannego kształtowania, w czym uprzywilejowana rola przypada katechezie. Nie można jednak redukować tej ostatniej do zajęć typu szkolnego. Katechetyczny wymiar mają też związane ze czcią Maryi praktyki religijne, jak różaniec, cześć dla wizerunków Maryi, pielgrzymki do sanktuariów, a także odmawiane w ich trakcie modlitwy (jak np. litanie).
    Popular piety is situated midway between theology and popular culture. The former determines the content of piety, the latter its forms. So popular piety turns out to be a cultural space of our faith. Mariology – as a theological doctrine about the Mother of the Lord – is important as part of theology. Hence, devotion to Mary is in the centre of popular piety, which is characteristic for the Polish conditions. It requires careful shaping in which catechesis has a privileged role. But the latter can not be reduced to the type of school activities. Religious practices associated with the veneration of Mary, such as rosaries, reference for the images of Mary, pilgrimages to Her sanctuaries, as well as the prayers recited in their course (like, for example, litanies), also have the catechetical dimension.

    Historia prowadzenia katechizowanych do Chrystusa poprzez katechezę o Maryi, Matce Bożej ma na ziemiach polskich długą tradycję. Prorocze słowa Maryi, iż błogosławić Ją będą wszystkie pokolenia, zaczęły spełniać się w trudnych czasach katechizacji w powojennej Polsce. Z analizy dostępnych programów nauczania religii oraz podręczników dla ucznia i poradników metodycznych wynika, że element maryjny był mocno wyeksponowany w polskiej katechezie. Katecheza maryjna w nauczaniu w szkole była strategią wynikająca z przyjętych przez Kościół założeń teologicznych i duszpasterskich oraz z dobrego planowania. W pomocach katechetycznych znalazły się jednostki, które w całości dotyczyły Maryi, lub tematyka maryjna była umieszczana w pewnych punktach katechezy, pojawiając się w formach okazjonalnych, z racji przypadających świąt, okresów liturgicznych, miesięcy maryjnych. Najważniejsze elementy kształtujące polską katechezę maryjną dotyczyły z jednej strony duchowego przeżywania chrześcijaństwa nakierowanego chrystocentrycznie i eklezjalnie, a z drugiej strony krzewienia wartości narodowych i społecznych. Można także potwierdzić, że droga maryjna w nauczaniu katechetycznym stanowiła w warunkach polskich ważny moment, dlatego powinna być kontynuowana.
    The history of leading the catechised to Christ through catechesis on Mary, the Mother of God, has a long tradition on the Polish lands. The prophetic words of Mary that she would be blessed by all generations began to fulfil in the difficult times of catechisation in the post-war Poland. The analysis of available religious education curricula as well as student textbooks and methodological guides shows that the Marian element was heavily exposed in the Polish catechesis. The Marian catechesis in teaching at school was the strategy stemming from the theological and pastoral assumptions adopted by the Church and the good planning. The catechetical aids included the units all of which related to Mary or the Marian themes were placed in certain points of the catechesis, or appeared in occasional forms because of falling holidays, liturgical seasons or Marian months. The most important elements shaping the Polish Marian catechesis concerned on the one hand the spiritual experience of Christocentric- and ecclesial-oriented Christianity, and on the other one the promotion of national and social values. It is also possible to confirm that the Marian path in catechetical instruction was a privileged moment under the Polish onditions and therefore should be continued.

    Artykuł próbuje odpowiedzieć na pytanie o model katechezy maryjnej w naszych czasach. Współczesna katecheza maryjna powinna być – na wzór katechezy apostolskiej i patrystycznej – biblijna, chrystologiczna, eklezjalna i antropologiczna, czyli wierna Bogu i człowiekowi. Nie może być ckliwa i egzaltowana czy oparta tylko na emocjach i pobożności ludowej. Domaga się pogłębienia biblijnego i patrystycznego, czyli fachowej interpretacji i aktualizacji tekstów Starego i Nowego Testamentu, odwołujących się do osoby Matki Jezusa. Trzeba też sięgać do Ojców Kościoła i wielkich teologów maryjnych, którzy byli piewcami Matki Słowa. Nie wolno również zapomnieć o rozwoju tradycji maryjnej w kulturze i sztuce, czyli o inkulturacji maryjnej. Dobrym tego przykładem jest kult Matki Jezusa na ziemiach polskich, gdzie rycerstwo już w XV w. śpiewało pieśń maryjną Bogurodzica przed bitwą pod Grunwaldem. Nasza carmen patrium to pierwsza pogłębiona biblijnie i kulturowo katecheza maryjna.
    This paper attempts to answer the question about the model of Marian catechesis in our times. Modern-day Marian catechesis should be – following the way similar to the Apostolic and Patristic catechesis – Biblical, Christological, ecclesial and anthropological, i.e. faithful and loyal to God and the man. It can not be mawkish and exalted or based only on emotions and popular piety. It calls for the Biblical and Patristic deepening, i.e. for professional interpretation and revision of the texts of the Old and New Testament that refer to the person of Jesus’s Mother. We should also go to the Fathers of the Church and the great Marian theologians who were eulogists of the Mother of the Word, nor we must forget about the development of Marian tradition in art and culture, i.e. about Marian inculturation. A good example of this is the cult of Jesus’s Mother in the polish lands where knights, as early as in the 15th century, sang a Marian song Bogurodzica (Mother of God) before the Battle of Grunwald (First Battle of Tannenberg). Our Carmen Patrium is the first Biblically and culturally deepened Marian catechesis. Keywords

    Przed stu laty portugalska Fatima zyskała niezwykły rozgłos dzięki objawieniom maryjnym. Wydarzenia te przełamały materialistyczną wizję rzeczywistości i kierowały w stronę rzeczywistości transcendentnej. Wielkie znaczenie w dynamice tego fenomenu posiadał kontekst historyczny, ponieważ były to trudne czasy, przepełnione terrorem i wojnami oraz głęboką negacją Boga. Z fatimskich objawień wyłoniło się bogactwo nowych treści, symboli, gestów i modlitw, które posiadały wielkie znaczenie katechetyczne. Kościół katolicki skupił się na odczytywaniu ukrytego sensu tych zdarzeń. Wartością maryjnych orędzi w Fatimie była ich całkowita zgodność z przekazem biblijnym, zaakcentowanie potrzeby nawrócenia i pokuty, podjęcia krucjaty modlitewnej za grzeszników oraz w intencji Ojca Świętego przez modlitwę różańcową. W Fatimie została wyeksponowana idea Bożego dziecięctwa, czyli podobieństwa człowieka do Stwórcy. Poprzez dzieci związane z objawieniami została przypomniana idea Opatrzności Bożej, doceniona rola Kościoła katolickiego oraz podkreślona centralna rola Jezusa Chrystusa w dziele zbawienia. Ponadto zostały dowartościowane pozawerbalne formy ewangelizacyjne, które posiadają wielką siłę oddziaływania na zlaicyzowanych chrześcijan początku XXI wieku. Fenomen objawień fatimskich polega na tym, że mimo upływu lat, nie tracą one na aktualności i posiadają znaczny potencjał katechetyczny do wykorzystania w obecnym czasie.
    The Marian apparitions initiated in 1917 in Fatima, quickly gained worldwide publicity due to their content and form. Because they began in the tragic period for the history of humanity, entangled in armed conflicts and atheistic ideologies, their message of hope increased interest in all spheres of social life. The appeal for conversion and return to the Gospel principles in individual and social life was declared to the world through children who confirmed the phenomenon of Fatima apparitions by their mortified life. The spiritual content of the message has become an important element in the catechetical ministry of raising children, youth and adults. Although what happened at Fatima does not belong to the category of a scientific discourse based solely on empirical methods, it must be reminded in the education of the young generation and recalled in discussions about the future of man and the world.

    Współczesne przemiany dotykają także obszaru antropologii i religijności. Często wynika to z faktu, że społeczeństwo nie chce zaakceptować istnienia Boga oraz zasad, które On ustanowił. Jednak człowiek potrzebuje stabilizacji i punktu orientacyjnego, szczególnie w obszarze religijnym. Taką przestrzenią, choć okazjonalnie oprotestowaną przez zwolenników laickiego stylu życia, pozostaje wciąż obszar mariologii i związana z nią pedagogizacja maryjna. Jest to swoisty fenomen, jak prosty wzór życia zwyczajnej kobiety, nakierowany na służbę Bogu oraz bliźnim, opiera się nieustannie próbie czasu i atakom ideowych przeciwników. Maryjny wzór osobowy pokazuje, jak ocalić niezmienną zależność, jaka istnieje pomiędzy stworzeniem a Stwórcą, z zachowaniem pełnej wolności człowieka. Wdrożenie do nauczania katechetycznego zasady obserwowania Maryi, aby znaleźć w Niej inspirację w realizacji chrześcijańskiego powołania, jest dla wielu katechetyków szansą przeciwstawienia się współczesnym ideologiom, które przyjmują niepełny obraz człowieka i przez to głoszą fałszywe antropologie. W celu ratowania polskiej tożsamości religijnej preferowana jest w katechezie tzw. polska droga maryjna. W jej realizacji chodzi o przygotowanie katechizowanych do rozumienia tytułów maryjnych, które odsłaniają maryjny fenomen pięknego życia. Katecheza maryjna przez pośrednictwo między tym, co w wierze instytucjonalne a tym, co spontaniczne, stanowi punkt odniesienia dla zwyczajnego życia. Strategia pedagogizacji maryjnej zakłada pełną prawdę o człowieku, ponieważ akcentuje nie tylko jego potrzeby cielesne i materialne, ale także format duchowy, osobowy, transcendentny oraz religijny, eksponuje również zasadę, że sprawa grzechu jest integralną częścią prawdy o człowieku. Religijna pedagogizacja musi być ściśle związana ze słuchaniem współczesnego katechizowanego oraz powinna korzystać z nowych języków i metod komunikacji, co jest współcześnie traktowane jako zwycięska strategia. W nauczaniu katechetycznym Maryja musi być przedstawiona jako ta, która wskazuje na Jezusa, zachęca do szukania Go oraz do zjednoczenia się z Nim. Tak powinny być formułowane perspektywy katechezy maryjnej w warunkach polskich.
    All Polish catechisms and textbooks for teaching religion after the Council's renewal contain numerous Marian references. We are also a nation in which devotion to Mary is an obvious phenomenon with a significant degree of intensity. There is also a justified theory that Poles are maintaining a high level of religion in European conditions thanks to Marian pedagogy. This, however, obliges us to make a deeper reflection. The current position of the Church's Teaching Office is the verification point for the Polish model of Marian catechesis. This publication is about answering the question whether education through catechesis on being a disciple of Christ and a genuinely committed member of the Church can make use of the principle functioning in catechesis: look at Mary, the Mother of Jesus, because in her you will find help in living your Christian vocation. In a time when false anthropologies are dominating, like denying the existence of God and the need for religion, and fundamental rules of sociallife and moral principles are being questioned, reference to a stable point in the Christian life seems to be really necessary. The pattern of combining a dignified life with fidelity to the Gospel’s principles according to the Marian Way can still be a strong foundation of catechetical communication.

    Opis:
    The work presents the analysis of seven papal catecheses delivered during Wednesday audiences in 1996–1997. The Pope points out important events from Mary’s life and refers to the Holy Scripture, documents of universal councils, his pastoral teaching as well as the teachings of his predecessors and of the Church Fathers. The Assumption is presented as an act resulting from the action of God’s Providence and the culmination of the earthly life of the Mother of our Savior. The work is divided into four basic parts. The first one examines Mary’s holiness during her earthly pilgrimage and explains such terms as: Hail Mary, daughter of Zion, full of grace, totally holy. He presents not only God’s intervention in the life of the Mother of Jesus but also in the history of Zechariah and Elizabeth. We can conclude that everything we note about Mary comes from grace and not from merits. We can include here e.g. the Immaculate Conception. The second part introduces us into an old theological discussion concerning the sense of the Mother of God’s death. The Pope says that the Mother of God died because Christ died as well. He poses a question: What sense could the death of the Mother of God have since the death of her Son had salvific meaning? It is interesting to observe the use of the words “could have” in this part of the catechesis which provides some space for a discussion about the participation of Mary in the work of redemption. It is interesting that in the description of the Assumption dogma a word “resurrection” is not used. The third part focuses on the act of Assumption itself. We can see that the truth about the assumption of Mary was noticed in the first centuries due to her maternity and the love connecting the Son and the Mother. Another important factor is to present this dogma in the context of Mary’s participation in the Passion of our Savior. Here one can find many reasons why Mary of Nazareth passed – like her Son – after death to life. The other reason is her Immaculate Conception and the privileges resulting from it. All those elements suggest and facilitate our understanding of the plan of God’s Providence. The fourth part presents Mother of God’s intercession in everyday Christian life, we can see Mary’s role and her cooperation in her Son’s redemptive work. This collaboration is based on the actualization of evangelical virtues: obedience, hope and love under the influence of the Holy Spirit. In the order of grace Mary is John’s mother but also ours. The maternity of Mary encourages us to get to know the Word of God better and gives us courage in our ministry.
