    Opis:
    The article is concerned with the gentle shift within theorizing on cyberculture where the well known and much publicized metaphor of remix has often been employed as a paradigmatic tool to describe the culture of constant reconfiguration as well as (according to Lawrence Lessig's famous statetment) Read/Write culture. Given the popularity of the term throughout the whole decade of 90s and beyond, it is significant that the concept of remix has recently faded out, replaced by the notion of mashup. Reaching out to some practices of the freshly established field of sound art and reflection on the audiality, the article sketches the distance between two terms which, although close in meaning, represent also significant differences when it comes to the strategies of cultural recycling and reconfiguration of already recorded/coded material.

    Opis:
    Two kinds of business scenarios are considered: application- and service-oriented.It is shown that the former are more flexible and easier reconfigurable for both traditional (human-oriented) and IT services. Moreover, complex IT services can be created by simple IT services using the modern mashup technology. It is the reason why such business scenarios can be modeled by BPMN in much easier ways. A simple example of a supply chain of a sales company is considered and the available advantages of such technologies are emphasized in the paper.

    Data visualizations take a variety of forms, from classic bar charts to three-dimensional presentations on globe maps. The purpose of this paper is a comparative analysis of selected techniques for visualizing statistical data on a background map. The exploratory tests were carried out to study the design possibilities of three software tools: Visualization: GeoChart, GIS and JavaScript and 3D Maps (MS Office), as well as the functionality and usability of applications created with them. In addition, selected technical attributes of the applications were measured, including the size and number of component files, loading time in the web browser window, as well as performance. It has been shown that the tested tools are predisposed to create data visualizations on administrative maps, that they have different design possibilities, that they differ in the degree of service advancement, and that they can also be useful in creating small visualizations, so-called “ad-hoc map”.
    Wizualizacje danych przyjmują różną postać, od klasycznych wykresów słupkowych, po trójwymiarowe prezentacje na mapach globu. Celem pracy jest analiza porównawcza wybranych technik wizualizacji danych statystycznych na podkładzie mapowym. Testom eksploracyjnym poddano możliwości projektowe trzech narzędzi: Visualization: GeoChart, GIS and JavaScript oraz 3D Maps (MS Office), a także funkcjonalność i użyteczność aplikacji utworzonych za ich pomocą. Ponadto dokonano pomiaru wybranych atrybutów technicznych aplikacji, w tym: rozmiaru i liczby plików składowych, czasu wczytywania w oknie przeglądarki internetowej oraz wydajności. Wykazano, że testowane narzędzia są predysponowane do tworzenia wizualizacji danych na mapach administracyjnych, mają różne możliwości projektowe i różnią się stopniem zaawansowania obsługi, a także mogą być przydatne przy tworzeniu niedużych wizualizacji, tzw. „map ad-hoc”.

    This article is devoted to analyzing and interpreting different images of zombie in mashup novels. That new genre of literature is a mixture of classical novel with fantastic, stunning motives of vampires or zombies. The main aim of this mixtures is to encourage readers to return to classical stories. It is also a kind of postmodern games, in which readers identify motifs typical for the 19th century literature and culture. In Pride and Prejudice and Zombies heroines are perceived as qualified warriors who want to fight with zombies, whereas the monsters only think about how to get and consume brains. In I am Scrooge. A Zombie Story for Christmas, Scrooge, who is resistant to zombie, has to travel around the world to find a cure which defeats the monsters. Zombies’ plague in Roberts’ novel is shown as an epidemic which spreads very quickly.

    The article presents selected software development tools and technologies that enable the presentation of statistical data on digital maps in the browser. The aim of the study was to describe them, and to conduct their comparative evaluation. In our studies, we have used ad-hoc tests, performed on the basis of usability and functionality, using the technique of self-evaluation. Based on the criteria of global popularity and availability, the following were subjected to ad-hoc tests: Google Visualization - Geomap and Geo Chart, as well as selected solutions developed on the basis of the jQuery JavaScript. In conclusion, it has been demonstrated that the tested design and development technologies are complementary, while the selection of tools to carry out the design principles assumed remains at the discretion of the user.
    W artykule przedstawiono wybrane techniki i narzędzia programistyczne, które umożliwiają prezentację danych statystycznych na mapach cyfrowych w oknie przeglądarki internetowej. Celem pracy była ich charakterystyka i ocena porównawcza. W badaniach posłużono się testami typu ad-hoc, które przeprowadzono na gruncie użyteczności i funkcjonalności, posługując się techniką samooceny. Na podstawie kryterium popularności oraz dostępności w świecie testom ad-hoc poddano Google Visualization: Geomap oraz Geo Chart, a także wybrane rozwiązania przygotowane w oparciu o jQuery JavaScript. W konkluzji wykazano, że testowane techniki projektowe są komplementarne, a w gestii użytkownika pozostaje dobór narzędzi umożliwiających realizację przyjętych założeń projektowych.

    Visualization of objects on interactive maps usually completes a design process which is preceded by collecting and processing of data. The same applies to the list of monuments (objects of cultural heritage), as its compilation requires both field and office works. The aim of the paper was to evaluate if registers monuments maintained by Polish communes (gminas) can be presented with Google Fusion Tables and Leaflet software, the tools that are specifically used to provide and visualize data. Successive stages of creating a communal register of monuments in Poland – from surveying the objects of heritage in the field to preparing their address cards and creating electronic map application – were presented in the paper. In conclusion, it was proved that a web mapping service, in which text description and photographic documentation of presented objects are complemented with data about their location, can perfectly supplement the communal list of objects of cultural heritage compiled as a standard paper address cards.
