Opis:
.
An investigation of the consistency of a linear inequality system is considered. It is proven that the system of linear inequalities Ax≥b is consistent if and only if for any generalized inverse A− of a matrix A the system of equations (I−AA−)v=−(I−AA−)b has a nonnegative solution for the vector v. Consistency of the above system does not depend on the choice of the matrix A−. The paper also presents methods for investigating the existence of nonnegative solutions of systems of linear equations.

New equivalent conditions of the asymptotical stability and stabilization of positive linear dynamical systems are investigated in this paper. The asymptotical stability of the positive linear systems means that there is a solution for linear inequalities systems. New necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions of the linear inequalities systems as well as the asymptotical stability of the linear dynamical systems are obtained. New conditions for the stabilization of the resultant closed-loop systems to be asymptotically stable and positive are also presented. Both the stability and the stabilization conditions can be easily checked by the so-called I-rank of a matrix and by solving linear programming (LP). The proposed LP has compact form and is ready to be implemented, which can be considered as an improvement of existing LP methods. Numerical examples are provided in the end to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Bidirectional Inductive power transfer (IPT) systems behave as high order resonant networks and hence are highly sensitive to changes in system parameters. Traditional PID controllers often fail to maintain satisfactory power regulation in the presence of parametric uncertainties. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes a robust controller which is designed using linear matrix inequality (LMI) techniques. The output sensitivity to parametric uncertainty is explored and a linear fractional transformation of the nominal model and its uncertainty is discussed to generate a standard configuration for μ-synthesis and LMI analysis. An H∞ controller is designed based on the structured singular value and LMI feasibility analysis with regard to uncertainties in the primary tuning capacitance, the primary and pickup inductors and the mutual inductance. Robust stability and robust performance of the system is studied through μ-synthesis and LMI feasibility analysis. Simulations and experiments are conducted to verify the power regulation performance of the proposed controller.

To be possible, within this integration, to design the controller which guarantees a pre-specified H∞ norm disturbance attenuation level, the design conditions has to be regularized using the H2 performance index and, moreover, augmented fault observer must be of enforced dynamics. Analyzing the ambit of performances given on the mixed H2/H∞ design, the joint design conditions are formulated as a minimization problem subject to convex constraints expressed by a system of LMIs. The transportation problem, as a particular case of a linear programme, has probably the highest relative frequency with which appears in applications. At least in its classical formulation, it involves demands and supplies. When, for practical reasons, the total demand cannot satisfy the total supply, the problem becomes unbalanced and inconsistent, and must be reformulated as e.g. finding a least squares solution of an inconsistent system of linear inequalities. A general iterative solver for this class of problems has been proposed by S. P. Han in his 1980 original paper. The drawback of Han’s algorithm consists in the fact that it uses in each iteration the computation of the Moore-Penrose pseudoinverse numerical solution of a subsystem of the initial one, which for bigger dimensions can cause serious computational troubles. In order to overcome these difficulties we propose in this paper a general projection-based minimal norm solution approximant to be used within Han-type algorithms for approximating least squares solutions of inconsistent systems of linear inequalities. Numerical experiments and comparisons on some inconsistent transport model problems are presented.

In this paper, integral sliding mode control ideas are combined with direct control allocation in order to create a fault tolerant control scheme. Traditional integral sliding mode control can directly handle actuator faults; however, it cannot do so with actuator failures. Therefore, a mechanism needs to be adopted to distribute the control effort amongst the remaining functioning actuators in cases of faults or failures, so that an acceptable level of closed-loop performance can be retained. This paper considers the possibility of introducing fault tolerance even if fault or failure information is not provided to the control strategy. To demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed scheme, a high fidelity nonlinear model of a large civil aircraft is considered in the simulations in the presence of wind, gusts and sensor noise.

An output-feedback decentralised formation control strategy is pursued under pole-region constraints, assuming that the agents have access to relative position measurements with respect to a set of neighbors in a graph describing the sensing topology. No communication between the agents is assumed; however, a shared one-way communication channel with a pilot is needed for steering tasks. Each agent has a separate copy of the same controller. A virtual structure approach is presented for the formation steering as a whole; actual formation control is established via cone-complementarity linearization algorithms for the appropriate matrix inequalities. In contrast to other research where only stable consensus is pursued, the proposed method allows us to specify settling-time, damping and bandwidth limitations via pole regions. In addition, a full methodology for the decoupled handling of steering and formation control is provided. Simulation results in the example section illustrate the approach.

This paper presents a novel approach to the design of fuzzy state feedback controllers for continuous-time non-linear systems with input saturation under persistent perturbations. It is assumed that all the states of the Takagi–Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model representing a non-linear system are measurable. Such controllers achieve bounded input bounded output (BIBO) stabilisation in closed loop based on the computation of inescapable ellipsoids. These ellipsoids are computed with linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) that guarantee stabilisation with input saturation and persistent perturbations. In particular, two kinds of inescapable ellipsoids are computed when solving a multiobjective optimization problem: the maximum volume inescapable ellipsoids contained inside the validity domain of the TS fuzzy model and the smallest inescapable ellipsoids which guarantee a minimum *-norm (upper bound of the 1-norm) of the perturbed system. For every initial point contained in the maximum volume ellipsoid, the closed loop will enter the minimum *-norm ellipsoid after a finite time, and it will remain inside afterwards. Consequently, the designed controllers have a large domain of validity and ensure a small value for the 1-norm of closed loop.

This paper proposes a methodology for observer-based fault estimation of leader-following linear multi-agent systems subject to actuator faults. First, a proportional-integral distributed fault estimation observer is developed to estimate both actuator faults and states of each follower agent by considering directed and undirected graph topologies. Second, based on the proposed quadratic Lyapunov equation, sufficient conditions for the asymptotic convergence of the observer are obtained as a set of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the proposed approach.

Finite-dimensional approximations for linear compact operators are constructed by discretization of the underlying Banach space. Sufficient conditions for strong convergence of the finite-dimensional operators to the given compact operator and for their collective compactness are obtained. In particular, the finite-dimensional approximation of the pencil A−λJ:H→V is considered, where H,V are Banach spaces, A is an invertible and J a compact operator.

Opis:
A solution for fault tolerant control (FTC) of a quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is proposed. It relies on model reference-based control, where a reference model generates the desired trajectory. Depending on the type of reference model used for generating the reference trajectory, and on the assumptions about the availability and uncertainty of fault estimation, different error models are obtained. These error models are suitable for passive FTC, active FTC and hybrid FTC, the latter being able to merge the benefits of active and passive FTC while reducing their respective drawbacks. The controller is generated using results from the robust linear parameter varying (LPV) polytopic framework, where the vector of varying parameters is used to schedule between uncertain linear time invariant (LTI) systems. The design procedure relies on solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) in order to achieve regional pole placement and H∞ norm bounding constraints. Simulation results are used to compare the different FTC strategies.

A new variant of Model Predictive Control and Identification (MPCI) is proposed. The on-line objective is not to minimize the sum of square errors, but to maximize on-line the sum of the lower bounds on the minimum eigenvalues of the information matrices over finite horizons. In that way, inputs to the controlled process are allowed to excite the process highly enough to generate as much modelling information as possible, while the process goes off-spec as little as possible. Constraints can be loosened or tightened according to the need for identification. The effectiveness of the proposed new methodology is illustrated through a number of simulations.

We establish a unified approach to stability analysis for switched linear descriptor systems under arbitrary switching in both continuous-time and discrete-time domains. The approach is based on common quadratic Lyapunov functions incorporated with linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). We show that if there is a common quadratic Lyapunov function for the stability of all subsystems, then the switched system is stable under arbitrary switching. The analysis results are natural extensions of the existing results for switched linear state space systems.

Many sophisticated analytical procedures to control system design are based on the assumption that the full state vector is available for measurement. The example of such control procedure is placement of the unstable system eigenvalues. In many systems of practical importance, however, the entire state vector is not available for measurement. In some systems, for example, measurements may require the use of costly measurement devices and it may be unreasonable to measure all state variables. An auxiliary dynamical system, which reconstructs the state vector, is known as a full-order or an identity observer, and is coupled to the original system through the available system inputs and outputs [14]. The paper presents a problem of synthesis of full-order observers for fractional continuous-time linear systems. It has been shown that this problem can be formulated and solved by the use of linear matrix inequalities (LMI) methods [15]. Two cases of fractional order i.e. 0 < α < 1 and 1 < α < 2 of the system (1) have been considered. Necessary and sufficient conditions (Theorem 1 and 2) for solvability of the problem as well as two procedures (Procedure 1 and 2) for computation of a gain matrix L of asymptotic stable observer (2) have been given. The proposed approach is illustrated with a practical example. Numerical calculations have been performed in the Matlab package and accompanied by public domain software: SeDuMi solver and YALMIP parser. The LMI approach to observer synthesis for fractional continuous-time linear systems has not been considered as yet.

The paper describes a state feedback controller design by pole placement method using Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI) approach. Conditions of pole placement constraints in a left half plane of the complex plane s are defined and allowable region for poles of the closed-loop control system are determined. For the purpose of using the linear design method, the mathematical model of controlled plant was linearized at a selected operating point. The designed state feedback controller was used for controlling the water level in a two-tank cascade system. The paper presents results of both computer simulations and real-time experiments.

Opis:
In this paper, new non-quadratic stability conditions are derived based on the parallel distributed compensation scheme to stabilize Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems. We use a non-quadratic Lyapunov function as a fuzzy mixture of multiple quadratic Lyapunov functions. The quadratic Lyapunov functions share the same membership functions with the T-S fuzzy model. The stability conditions we propose are less conservative and stabilize also fuzzy systems which do not admit a quadratic stabilization. The proposed approach is based on two assumptions. The first one relates to a proportional relation between multiple Lyapunov functions and the second one considers an upper bound to the time derivative of the premise membership functions. To illustrate the advantages of our proposal, four examples are given.

Opis:
This paper considers the problem of fault-tolerant control (FTC) and fault reconstruction of actuator faults for linear parameter varying (LPV) descriptor systems with time delay. A polytopic sliding mode observer (PSMO) is synthesized to achieve simultaneous reconstruction of LPV polytopic descriptor system states and actuator faults. Exploiting the reconstructed actuator faults and state estimates, a fault-tolerant controller is designed to compensate the impact of actuator faults on system performance by stabilizing the closed-loop LPV delayed descriptor system. Besides, the controller and PSMO gains are obtained throughout the resolution of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) using convex optimization techniques. The developed PSMO could force the output estimation error to converge to zero in a finite time when the actuators faults are bounded through the reinjection of the output estimation error via a nonlinear switching term. Simulation results applied to a given numerical system are presented to highlight the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Opis:
This paper develops an innovative approach for designing non-parallel distributed fuzzy controllers for continuous-time non-linear systems under persistent perturbations. Non-linear systems are represented using Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy models. These non-PDC controllers guarantee bounded input bounded output stabilisation in closed-loop throughout the computation of generalised inescapable ellipsoids. These controllers are computed with linear matrix inequalities using fuzzy Lyapunov functions and integral delayed Lyapunov functions. LMI conditions developed in this paper provide non-PDC controllers with a minimum ⋆-norm (upper bound of the 1-norm) for the T–S fuzzy system under persistent perturbations. The results presented in this paper can be classified into two categories: local methods based on fuzzy Lyapunov functions with guaranteed bounds on the first derivatives of membership functions and global methods based on integral-delayed Lyapunov functions which are independent of the first derivatives of membership functions. The benefits of the proposed results are shown through some illustrative examples.

This paper addresses the problems of robust fault estimation and fault-tolerant control for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with time delays and unknown sensor faults. A fuzzy augmented state and fault observer is designed to achieve the system state and sensor fault estimates simultaneously. Furthermore, based on the information of on-line fault estimates, an observer-based dynamic output feedback fault-tolerant controller is developed to compensate for the effect of faults by stabilizing the resulting closed-loop system. Sufficient conditions for the existence of both a state observer and a fault-tolerant controller are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities. A simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Luksemburg, Irlandia i Holandia zajmowały pierwsze trzy pozycje we wszystkich analizowanych latach. Z kolei na drugim końcu skali znalazły się dwa najuboższe kraje unijne – Rumunia i Bułgaria, a także Hiszpania i Włochy, które szczególnie dotknięte były problemem migracji. W 2022 r. zaobserwowano poprawę wartości wskaźnika syntetycznego w porównaniu do 2018 r. w 13 krajach UE, zwłaszcza w Grecji, Portugalii, Polsce i Chorwacji. Natomiast największy spadek wartości miernika syntetycznego odnotowano w czternastu państwach, zwłaszcza w Estonii, Bułgarii i Rumunii.
Contemporary social and economic inequalities constitute one of the main obstacles to sustainable development, not only within individual societies but also on a global scale. The persistence of spatial disparities within the European Union in the realm of inequality reduction highlights the need for research in this area. The objective of this article is to identify and assess the level of achievement of the tenth Sustainable Development Goal – the reduction of inequalities – in European Union countries. The study covers the period from 2018 to 2022. The assessment of goal attainment is based on indicators monitored by Eurostat. A multidimensional comparative analysis was employed in the article, utilizing the linear ordering method in a dynamic approach. Rankings of countries, typological groups, and the scale of changes in the level of achieving the tenth goal between EU countries were derived from the calculated synthetic measure. The research results indicate significant diversity among EU countries in terms of social and economic inequality levels. Western and Northern European countries ranked higher, while Southern and Eastern European countries ranked lower. Luxembourg, Ireland, and the Netherlands consistently occupied the top three positions in all the analyzed years. Conversely, at the other end of the scale, were positioned the two poorest EU countries, Romania and Bulgaria, as well as Spain and Italy, particularly affected by migration issues. Improvement in the synthetic indicator value from 2018 to 2022 was observed in 13 EU countries, especially in Greece, Portugal, Poland, and Croatia. On the other hand, the greatest decline in the synthetic measure value was noted in fourteen countries, notably Estonia, Bulgaria, and Romania.
