The paper examines Bulgarian names of concepts (terms or quasi-terms) concerning today’s and future developments of technology, computer systems as well perceptions and experiences related to these technologies and systems. The subject area chosen for analysis is that of cyberecology. The author discusses the neological character of the terms naming new realities and virtualities (including the terms with the formal element cyber-), the structural and semantic features of selected terms while emphasizing the influence of English models. The texts studied in the cyberecological area are considered to be term-generating with a view to their primacy within a new language for specific purposes. Furthermore, attention is drawn to the cognitive syntax (i.e. the ways of introducing new concepts) of the cyberecological texts. The general conclusion of the paper is that the linguistic observation of a sublanguage for specific purposes which is in the on-going process of creation is needed considering that it is important for the future of the Bulgarian language to have Bulgarian names for the future realities.

Abstract: As a result of the emergence of new forms of work in the professional environment, which have become established as a result of internationalisation, globalisation and specialisation, writing is becomming an important tool for the acquisition, restructuring and exchange of content-related information or new concepts among employees. However, this created challenges concerning the transparency and economy of expression in writing. The following paper presents a study that examined students' writing skills for professional purposes. The subject of the analysis were the results of a writing tasks given to students at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland, related to an authentic workplace situation. In order to assess the level of preparation for the requirements of the current labour market based on the knowledge acquired during attendance of university courses, students were asked to solve a written task. After analysing the results obtained using quantitative and qualitative methods, conclusions were drawn regarding possible modifications of the curricula and the extension of the teaching programme to promote the training of writing skills for professional purposes.

The aim of the paper is to analyse the Italian medical terminology, in particular will be taken into consideration the link between names of different illnesses and rhetoric procedures that might have influenced their lexical form. The examples of medical nomenclature will enable to illustrate the attitude towards the concept of illness and to show the complexity of phenomena perception and the impossibility to understand them completely. For this reason literary tropes, especially metonymy, enable to create terminology, although it will be never enough sufficient to guarantee the highest precision of these concepts.
W niniejszym artykule zostanie przedstawiona analiza włoskiego języka medycznego, w szczególności uwaga zostanie poświęcona związkom między nazwami poszczególnych chorób a figurami retorycznymi, które wpłynęły na ich utworzenie. Przykłady zaczerpnięte z nomenklatury medycznej posłużą do zilustrowania nastawienia względem choroby w celu wykazania złożoności postrzegania zjawisk oraz niemożliwości całkowitego ich zrozumienia. Z tej przyczyny figury retoryczne, w szczególności metonimia, ułatwia tworzenie terminologii specjalistycznej, mimo że nie jest ona nigdy wystarczająca do zagwarantowania precyzji pojęciowej.

Task Based Learning / Teaching focuses on the action dimension of language use, i.e., various tasks performed every day that require cooperation with others and the mobilization of language. Language proves to be the most important instrument of action, even if the objective of this action is not necessarily linguistic. The pedagogical tasks used for language teaching for professional purposes illustrate the link between language and socio-professional action: the learning of the formal language system counts as much as the content of the domain of work. On these theoretical assumptions, the aim of this paper is to examine the degree of integration of linguistic and professional knowledge and skills into tasks designed for the teaching of business French. We will analyse the examples of pedagogical tasks in order to demonstrate to what extent they allow us to teach interdisciplinary content and foreign language

Opis:
Changes in education and the opening of international work markets result in the continuous growth of the group of people who want to study language for specific purposes. Potential learners fall into two categories. The first comprises of non-professionals, i.e. present and future students and future professionals; the second one includes present professionals. The priorities of the two groups are not the same, therefore, programs of teaching language for specific purposes must be offered in two variants: academic and occupational. Both groups, however, have to master a great number of terms (lucid and apparent) and their typical collocations, which is why in both cases a well thought out approach to teaching lexis should be implemented.
W wyniku zmian w edukacji i otwarcia się międzynarodowych rynków pracy rośnie liczba uczących się, którzy oczekują wyraźnego ukierunkowania procesu kształcenia językowego na określony profesjolekt. Zainteresowanych nauką języka specjalistycznego można podzielić na dwie kategorie. W pierwszej znajdują się ci, którzy zamierzają studiować lub uczyć się danego zawodu; w drugiej – już funkcjonujący na rynku pracy profesjonaliści, którzy chcą zdobyć kompetencje w nowym języku. Ze względu na odmienną specyfikę obu grup odbiorców programy kursów języka specjalistycznego powinny być oferowane w dwu zdecydowanie różnych wariantach: akademickim i zawodowym. W obu jednakże konieczne jest systemowe podejście do nauczania leksyki, umożliwiające uczącym się efektywne opanowanie dużej liczby terminów (jawnych i ukrytych) oraz charakterystycznych dla nich połączeń.

The paper presents discussion of the results of extensive empirical research into efficient methods of educating and training translators of LSP (language for special purposes) texts. The methodology is based on using popular LSP texts in the respective fields as one of the main media for translator training. The aim of the paper is to investigate the efficiency of this methodology in developing thematic, linguistic and cultural competences of the students, following Bloom’s revised taxonomy and European Master in Translation Network (EMT) translator training competences. The methodology has been tested on the students of a professional Master study programme called Technical Translation implemented by the Institute of Applied Linguistics, Riga Technical University, Latvia. The group of students included representatives of different nationalities, translating from English into Latvian, Russian and French. Analysis of popular LSP texts provides an opportunity to structure student background knowledge and expand it to account for linguistic innovation. Application of popular LSP texts instead of purely technical or scientific texts characterised by neutral style and rigid genre conventions provides an opportunity for student translators to develop advanced text processing and decoding skills, to develop awareness of expressive resources of the source and target languages and to develop understanding of socio-pragmatic language use.

The following paper tries to elaborate on aspects connected with Italian language of economics presented in newspapers published during pre-referendum period and after the results were communicated, i.e. between 4th June 2016 and 3rd June 2017. The article indicates at the beginning that the language of economics is a language for specific purposes. It is being noticed that metaphors are its distinctive feature, consequently it is them that become the central area of research. Throughout the analysis, metaphors studies conducted by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson will be the main point of reference. The author proposes seven major categories concerning metaphors: body, animals, history, games, tourism, weather and water. The corpus consists of quotations from articles published in Corriere della Sera and Il sole 24 ore.
W pracy podejmuje się próbę omówienia problematyki związanej z językiem specjalistycznym dotyczącym ekonomii prezentowanym na łamach włoskich gazet codziennych podczas kampanii przedreferendalnej oraz po ogłoszeniu wyników głosowania, w okresie od 4 czerwca 2016 do 3 czerwca 2017. Artykuł rozpoczyna się od wskazania charakterystyki języka specjalistycznego. Zauważa się, że cechą dystynktywną są metafory i to zagadnienie staje się centralnym problemem rozważań. W analizie dokonuje się odwołań do badań nad metaforą przeprowadzonych przez George’a Lakoffa i Marka Johnsona. Autorka proponuje wyróżnienie 7 głównych kategorii tematycznych metafor: ciało, zwierzęta, historia, gry i zabawy, turystyka, pogoda oraz woda. Korpus stanowią cytaty z artykułów prasowych opublikowanych w dziennikach Corriere della Sera oraz Il sole 24 ore.

The present paper is an attempt to discuss the issue of terminology management as a part of the translator or LSP training process as well as methods for its implementation in the MA programme “Linguistics in Specialised Communication”. The paper outlines the curricular approach to the teaching of terminology management through the delivery of a theoretical and a practical module. The latter includes three elements: conventional terminology work, terminology management and the integration of term bases prepared or made available in the process of translation with the aid of the TMS and CAT tools. The practical work was based on small and medium-sized terminology projects carried out by university students.

The so-called latest technologies in the world of today constitute an indispensable component of teaching or learning foreign languages. Given as an obvious element of social life, they are regarded by teachers as effi cient tools for acquiring and perfecting various skills, such as communicative ones. The dynamic development of the multimedia, also in the area of language teaching, incessantly faces language teachers with new challenges, whose aim is to fully utilise the potential of the latest technologies in the process of language teaching that respects learners’ individual needs. The aim of this article is to present possible ways of using the multimedia, helpful in drawing language lesson plans for vocational language groups. The article deals with the area of communication and information technologies used in the classroom as these have recently undergone changes. Also, a discussion is presented of the advantages and disadvantages of the latest multimedia used in the didactic process. The article also seeks to answer the question how much the latest technologies cater for the needs of specialist glottodidactics.

The article presents the issue of liguistic competences significant in terms of globalization of the world's economy. The author's intention is to exploit the correlation between the economic success of individuals and their foreign language skills, based on the results of selected research. Language policy is briefly described in relation to the definitions suggested within the European Union. Additionally, foreign language learning is defined as a key competence necessary for further development of business. Arising awareness of entrepreneurs concerning the importance of high language competences is also presented. This article aims to show how to use content and language integrated teaching/learning (CLIL – Content and Language Integrated Learning) in Polish as a foreign language course. The assumption is that teaching special varieties of the Polish language is, in fact, transferring knowledge. Language, thanks to which it is possible to learn new information, becomes at the same time a constitutive element of the constructed knowledge of a particular sphere of life. Therefore, there follows full integration of teaching/learning content and the language itself. In the article a proposal is outlined of how to written text and drama as a form consistent with the CLIL approach.
Celem artykułu jest pokazanie, jak można wykorzystywać ideę zintegrowanego uczenia/uczenia się treści przedmiotowych i języka (CLIL – Content and Language Integrated Learning) na lektoracie języka polskiego jako obcego w kontekście założenia, że nauczanie specjalistycznej odmiany polszczyzny to przekaz wiedzy. Język, dzięki któremu możliwe jest zdobywanie nowych informacji, jednocześnie sam staje się elementem konstytutywnym budowanej wiedzy, dotyczącej określonej sfery życia. Następuje pełna integracja uczenia/uczenia się treści przedmiotowych i języka. W artykule zostanie zarysowana propozycja wykorzystania pracy z tekstem pisanym oraz dramy jako form zgodnych z podejściem CLIL.

Interaction between the learner and teacher in the context of Foreign Language for Specific Purposes (FLSP) is characteristic in that often the learner has greater specialist knowledge than the teacher for reasons of experience, or because they work professionally in the field. The purpose of this article is to define the factors impacting on this relationship and analyze possible difficulties for the teacher.
