Opis:
During the last dеcade the history of the Synodikon of the Оrthodoxy in Medieval Bulgaria has been tackled upon from different points of view. The author of this paper provided substantial evidence proving that the Synodikon of Tsar Boril did not survive in its original form. By the end of the 14th c. the original translation was amended and edited in order to be installed in a canonical-liturgical compilation (archieratikon) that includes texts and services related to the Feast of Orthodoxy. The compilation is kept in the National Library in Palauzov’s collection No 289. Additional information about the different sources of some rubrics of the Synodikon, which do not correspond to its Greek version, was also provided. Recently we have discovered that the text, preserved in a collection of Damasckin type from the beginning of 16th c. (Drinov’s copy) represents indeed a compilation: its first part (the canonical one) contains the translation of the Palaeologan version of the Synodikon, which survived also in a triodion from the Library of the Romanian Academy of Sciences. The second part of the compilation however coincides with the text of the Synodikon of Tsar Boril with all amendments related to the Bulgarian history – rulers, patriarchs, bishops and nobles. This “Bulgarian” part of the Synodikon includes a series of anathemas against Bogomils, that do not have Greek correspondences and generally repeat the anti-Bogomils anathemas taken from the Letter of Patriarch Kosmas in a simpler language more understandable to the faithful. This paper is tracing the connection between these anathemas and the Anti-Bogomils anathemas in the Discourse of Kosmas the Presbyter against the Bogomils.

Opis:
Various studies of the 12th century chronicle written by Anonim called Gall also include to a certain degree the problem of the influence of classical literature on its language. I. Znamirowski's and K. Maleczyński's works devoted to this subject, showing numerous accidental borrowings, induced contradictory opinions among researchers. According to them in Anonim's chronicle references to Caius Sallust Crispus' works appear most often. The chronicler himself refers to one of his works (Bellum Iugurthinum). According to my calculations Anonim included in the chronicle 28 probable borrowings from Bellum Catilinae and 21 from Bellum Iugurthinum. Some of them, like the descriptions of the main characters or battles, are connected with linguistic similarities and they may be credited with the character of Anonim's education. It is similar with the chronicler's speeches for which Catiline's speech recorded by Sallust was the model. It is more difficult to forget about similarities when comparing the events in Numidia after Micipsa's death as described by Sallust and after Władysław Herman's death in Anonim's chronicle. They give the impression that Anonim knew this fragment of Sallust's work well and `directed' the course of events in Poland in a similar way. Also, a comparison between the borrowings used by Anonym and the Czech chronicler Kosmas of Prague shows great quantitative and qualitative differences in using Sallust's works to the chronicler of Poland's advantage. Hence, despite some uncertainty still prevailing, it should be stated that Anonim called Gall knew Sallust's works not only from grammar or rhetoric handbooks; he used his language and imitated his descriptions of various situations. In no way does it depreciate Anonim's contribution but it certainly helps to understand his workshop.

Opis:
The article analyses the consequences of the fact – unappreciated in the literature on the subject – of large time intervals between the originals of chronicles and their copies known to us and a similar time distance between the beginnings of the statehood and Christianisation of Bohemia, Poland, and Rus’, and the first local written chronicles.
