Opis:
Studies of the scale of unemployment in Poland and in Europe conducted in recent years lead to the conclusion that one of the largest and growing problems of the modern labour market is the unemployment rate among young people. An unfavourable phenomenon related to the problem that is increasingly appearing in public debate is the rising unemployment of graduates. Therefore, it is important to attempt to identify the phenomena in today's job market and one of them is the formation of a new type of employee on the labour market, the member of the precarious class. The analysis aims to present the origins, nature and scale of the precariat phenomenon in Poland. The problem is described from the perspective of the labour market position of a selected social group, i.e. young people entering the labour market after finishing their education. The study attempted to identify factors that affect this phenomenon and the characteristics confirming the sense of its separation on the labour market.

Excitation energy transport between zwitterion and cationic form of rhodamine B in glycerol-ethanol mixture is studied. Concentration course of the quantum yield exhibits a rapid drop at intermediate concentrations, where no dimers are formed contrary to the results of measurements carried out for solutions with a trace amount of acid or base in which single ionic forms are adopted. To describe properly such concentration behavior of the quantum yield forward and reverse, nonradiative excitation energy transport between the forms is considered. This task is performed by comparing experimental data with Monte-Carlo simulations.

Opis:
The results of experimental studies of fluorescence and phosphorescence of acridine in the low-temperature inert neon matrix, at 7 K, are reported. It is found that the low-temperature inert matrix of neon affects the energy levels of acridine molecules very weakly even as compared with nonpolar (aprotic) and non-reactive solvent (e.g. hexane) and that there are different sites for acridine molecules in the neon matrix. However, the observed fluorescence spectra are strongly dependent on the excitation wavelength and besides the different (monomer) sites other emitting species are also contributing to the observed fluorescence emission of acridine in the neon matrix. Clear-cut evidence of the formation of singlet excimers of acridine in the neon matrix demonstrates itself as a very broad and structureless fluorescence spectrum with a relatively large shift from the origin of monomer (site) fluorescence which is characterized by a very distinct vibrational structure. The phosphorescence emission was observed only for the monomers. The observed differences in the low-energy part of excitation spectra of phosphorescence and fluorescence are discussed in terms of the close-lying excited singlet states of n,π* and π,π* character (mixed by the vibronic coupling) and tentatively interpreted as due to the formation of resonance acridine dimers. Their fluorescence spectrum is slightly shifted toward lower energies from the origin of monomer (site) fluorescence.

The PbGeTe crystal lattice is locally deformed due to different ionic radii of cations and their random placement in the lattice. It is important to quantitatively characterize such microscopic disorder because local deformations have significant influence on the properties of magnetic ions introduced to such crystal. The simples method to study microscopic disorder is to consider purely classical model of the lattice in which neighboring atoms are connected by springs with properly chosen spring constant and equilibrium lengths. In the present work, using ab initio methods we discuss applicability of the springs-atoms model to the real crystal. We also explain results of extended X-ray absorption fine structure experiments performed on PbGeTe mixed crystals.

After one- and two-colour ps-excitation the transient absorption of rose bengal, erythrosin B and eosin Y in the spectral range from 450 to 670 nm was probed using picosecond continuum pulses generated in H$\text{}_{2}$O-D$\text{}_{2}$O mixture. Our experiments showed for all dyes a high T$\text{}_{1}$-T$\text{}_{n}$ absorption signal above 590 nm where no ground state absorption occurs. These excited triplet states can be effectively populated by a delayed second pump pulse. Their properties with special attention to reverse intersystem crossing processes from T$\text{}_{n}$ to S$\text{}_{x}$ are discussed.

Thin films of PVK blended with PVDF-HfP (PVK:PVDF-HfP) and PVP (PVK:PVP) were prepared using doctor blade technique on spectrosil substrate. The influences of polymer blends to the excitation and emission spectra were observed under UV excitation source of a xenon lamp. The result shows a discrepancy in the maximum excitation and emission for each samples. The possible energy transfer and recombination mechanisms have been related with singlet-singlet semi-empirical INDO electronic calculation and FTIR measurements.

We present the first time-resolved pump-probe experiment performed at synchrotron SOLEIL at the CRISTAL diffraction beamline. The time-resolved setup will be used in the near future for sub-ns time resolution experiments. We studied spin state switching in a [TPA Fe(III) TCC] $PF_6$ single crystal as induced by a ≈6 ns laser pulse (1064 nm), by measuring the 3D diffraction volume of the 002 Bragg reflection as a function of time after excitation. The intensity profiles (rocking curves) are found to evolve at two characteristic timescales, namely hundreds of ns and few μs, exhibiting subtle profile changes and peak broadenings. Consistently with previous studies, we interpret these features as due to structural inhomogeneities related to laser-induced deformation wave propagation and heat diffusion, which both start from the absorbing sites.

The oxygen isotope effect on the first- and second-order Raman active modes of high-quality La$\text{}_{2-x}$Sr$\text{}_{x}$Cu$\text{}^{16,18}$O$\text{}_{4}$ (80% substitution $\text{}^{16}$O by $\text{}^{18}$O) polycrystalline compounds with x=0.00, 0.015 was investigated at low temperatures. In the second-order Raman scattering several weak and strong peaks were observed and assigned to oxygen atom vibrations. With the isotopic substitution the apex oxygen mode follows quite well the mass harmonic law at all temperatures studied, while the soft mode is anharmonic in the temperature range of 77-180 K and for higher temperatures its anharmonicity is strongly increased. The temperature dependence of the energy of the soft mode for x=0.0 shows also a modification at≈180 K and an abnormal behaviour at≈280 K, which may be related with the transition to the antiferromagnetic phase.

The aim of the article is to present the attempts of establishing institutions of a system of worker’s self-management in the selected countries of the so-called real socialism system in Eastern Europe. The analysis considers three of those countries, namely Yugoslavia, Poland and Hungary, whose experiences in participation of the employees’ implementation were the most significant. Particular attention was paid to the evolution of socialist regimes approach to workers’ self-management. The paper tries to answer the question whether workers’ self-management posed a threat to the socialist regimes persistence. The research method used in the study is an indepth survey and analysis of literature and legal acts.

The quadrupole interaction of positronium in noncubic defectless crystals has been investigated theoretically. It is shown to lead to the weak anisotropy of positronium magnetic quenching. The temperature dependence of the quadrupole coupling constant and the estimations of the magnitude of the anisotropy are obtained for delocalized positronium in crystalline quartz. The significant magnitude of the anisotropy is predicted for "anomalous" positronium in oriented crystalline polymeric structures.

Opis:
This paper is seen as a review of attempts carried out by author in order to indicate problems related to transferring of engineering to smaller scales having in mind theoretical aspects. Two main problems are indicated. The first one is associated with question what kind of theory is appropriate for realization of design of devices and processes related to smaller scales including nanoscale. The second problem is related to determination of source of precision which is necessary for realization of the design. Solution of both problems needs elaboration of appropriate theories. One indicates that unified mechanics of materials based on collection of dynamical systems with dimensional reduction is appropriate for future realization of the design process. This is multi-scale description which unifies discrete models related to atomic scale, including molecular dynamics, and more averaged continuum descriptions. In order to determine corresponding source of precision for small scale processes the vacuum medium mechanics is introduced. Within vacuum medium mechanics we are able to determine attractor, expressed on the most fundamental elementary particle level, and responsible for self-organization manifested in molecular processes. Vacuum medium mechanics is considered as fundamental theory. Therefore we should estimate to what degree such a theory is stable with respect to large set of experimental results. In particular one investigates consequences of vacuum medium mechanics for theoretical biology. One accentuates that mechanisms of biological evolution and source of precision for nanotechnology expressed by means of vacuum medium mechanics are interrelated. Theoretical biology and nanotechnology should be described in consistent way in order to cooperate in a future. Both theories: unified mechanics of materials and vacuum medium mechanics are seen as basis for further development of theoretical nanotechnology.
