Personality is one of the utmost important assets of an individual which aids in categorizing the bounds of success, happiness and achievement in our life[1]. The study explores the sensing and intuitive personality dimensions of selected business school students across Gujarat state. Further, the study explores statistical differences in terms of various demographic aspects. NERIS Type Explorer® Scale was used to check the personality type of a total of 1067 management students. 69.5 per cent (742) of the respondents have a Sensing (S) personality dimension compared to 30.5 per cent (325) Intuition (N) personality dimension as dominating type. The conclusions of this research study are also reinforced by past research work which confirms that there are noteworthy differences between Sensing (S) and Intuitive (N) personality dimensions regarding selected demographic variables.

The author of the article focuses on introducing and interpreting the dispute over Slavic philosophy that took place in the 1840s in Slovak magazines (between J.M. Hurban, C. Zoch and P.Kellner-Hostinský). This dispute is an important testimony of the era, it concerned the fundamental issues of the time: the identity of Slovak culture, its philosophical background, its place and role in the Slavic world, its attitude to tradition. The author of the article focused primarily on two aspects of the “slovanská veda” project: the relation to German philosophy and the key cognitive category “viďeňja.” The author also points to the role that this dispute played in shaping the model of Slovak culture. Since the Slovak Romantic literary discourse has recently been enriched by many new revisions, the author also briefly refers, sometimes polemically, to the latest research.

The inspiration of this text is the belief of the Pythagoreans that the roots and source of complete knowledge is the quadruple expressed in the “arch-four”, also called as tetractys. Hence the hypothesis considered in this paper is: the basis of the philosophy of social sciences is entangled in these four valours, manifested in what is “general and necessary” (scientific) in social life, the first and universal as to the “principles and causes” of this life (theoretically philosophical) and “which can be different in it” (practically philosophical) and “intuitive”. The quadruple appears with different clarity in the history of human thought, which seeks clarification and understanding of the things being cognised, including such a thing as society. It is exposed in the oath of the Pythagoreans, the writings of Plato and Aristotle, who applied these four valours, among other things, in distinguishing the four types of knowledge and learning about the first four causes and principles. This fourfold division seems to be experiencing a renaissance in contemporary theological-cognitive holism and can be treated as an expressive, a “hard core”, and the basis of research not only of social but mainly of global society as a social system. This entanglement of the foundations of the philosophy of the social sciences leads to the suggestion of defining this philosophy as the knowledge of social being composed of “what is general and necessary” (scientific), genetically first, universal (theoretically philosophical) and “being able to be different” (philosophically practical) and intuitive.

Opis:
Understanding the motivational effect of the law and its mechanism is crucial for examining the impact of law on individual’s behavior in society. In this paper a novel approach towards legal motivation is proposed. For this aim, the author first introduce the approach to motivation in psychology and law. In the following section the concept of legal motivation is outlined. The basic elements of the concept are analyzed, in particular representations and emotions. The proposed approach distinguishes between intuitive and positive legal motivation. Distinction of legal motivation is based on the possession or lack of representation of normative facts. The concept of legal motivation proposed in the this paper allows adopting a broader perspective on the motivational effect of law.
Zrozumienie motywacyjnego charakteru prawa i jego mechanizmu jest kluczowe dla poznania wpływu prawa na zachowanie jednostek w społeczeństwie. W niniejszym artykule zaproponowano nowatorskie podejście do motywacji prawnej. W tym celu w pierwszej kolejności przeanalizowano podejście do motywacji w ramach psychologii i prawa. W dalszej części przedstawiono zarys koncepcji motywacji prawnej oraz przeanalizowano jej podstawowe elementy: wyobrażenia oraz emocje. W proponowanym podejściu zostały wyróżnione motywacja prawna intuicyjna i pozytywna. Podstawą rozróżnienia motywacji prawnej na intuicyjną oraz pozytywną jest posiadanie lub brak wyobrażeń zasad normatywnych. Proponowana w artykule koncepcja motywacji prawnej pozwala przyjąć szerszą perspektywę na motywacyjne działanie prawa.

Opis:
The problem of rational investment and allocation of funds for an agent with individual goals and experiences is presented in this paper. Simon Herbert’s model of decision making, the EPAM model of intuition as a decision tree with the accompanying Soar so!ware which is a modern cognitive architecture for modeling intelligent agents are considered. The state space and selection of decision rules for determining the optimal solution are presented, emphasizing the role of intuition. A decision making scheme is presented, leading to the acquisition of distinct experiences resulting in an increase in the procedural knowledge stored in the long-term memory. The next stage is to visualize the decision making process in the working memory in order to satisfactorily allocate funds into three categories. The results obtained indicate the intuitively correct decision according to an assumed quality factor which is the level of overall agent satisfaction. Reference is also made to the possible application of GAN neural networks, showing their potential in supporting intuitive decision making in the stock market. The considerations confirm the validity of an intuitive approach to business solutions and also enable a closer look at multidimensional aspects of intuition. The paper proposes a reflection on the construction of grammatical competence in French as L2. We argue that grammatical competence embraces implicit and explicit knowledge, and results from the complementarity of conscious functions, closely linked to analogy and intelligence, and unconscious functions strictly connected with intuition. In the article, we show that an approach guaranteeing communicative success is connected to teaching formal aspects of language combined with meaning. In the first part, we discuss the specificity of both types of grammatical knowledge and refer to the concept of « grammar of sense » by P. Charaudeau. In the second part, some exercises and communication tasks combining analytical thinking and sense-oriented intuitive thinking are proposed.

The paper presents two different conceptions of metaphysics – scientistic and neoscholastic – developed in the 20th century by, among others, Polish philosophers: Stanisław Kamiński, Mieczysław Gogacz, Tadeusz Czeżowski and Zygmunt Zawirski. These authors refer to the problem of the possibility of conducting metaphysical research in contemporary philosophy. In this context, they examine issues such as the method, subject, and specificity of research carried out within metaphysics. In the summary, the discussed conceptions are compared with each other. The basic issues determining the similarities and differences between respective positions are the problem of the autonomy of metaphysics in relation to other sciences and the issue of the starting point (source of preliminary data) of metaphysical research. Findings regarding the latter issue turn out to be crucial for resolving the question of the appropriate model for research in metaphysics.

Artykuł koncentruje się na kantowskim rozumieniu pojęcia intuicji intelektualnej i jego interpretacji przez współczesnego francuskiego filozofa Xaviera Tilliette’a. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie i zbadanie zasadności poszukiwania wiedzy intuicyjnej w twórczości królewieckiego myśliciela oraz ukazanie rozumienia tego pojęcia przez Tilliette’a. Na początku omówiono kontekst powstania i definicję samego pojęcia, która w świetle twórczości Immanuela Kanta wydaje się kontrowersyjna. Ponadto zaprezentowano interpretację Tilliette’a: jako znawca niemieckiego idealizmu i spadkobierca francuskiej tradycji filozoficznej krytycznie przygląda się kantowskiemu rozumieniu tego pojęcia, wskazując na jego wieloznaczność i nakreślając problem niekonsekwencji jego użycia. 
The paper focuses on the Kantian understanding of the concept of intellectual intuition and its interpretation by the contemporary French philosopher Xavier Tilliette. The aim of this paper is to present and examine the legitimacy of the search for intuitive knowledge in the work of the Kant, and to present Xavier Tilliette’s understanding of this problem. At the beginning of the article, the context of the creation was described and the concept itself was defined, which in the light of Immanuel Kant’s work appears to be controversial. Furthermore, Tilliette’s interpretation is presented: as a German idealism scholar and an heir to the French philosophical tradition, he takes a critical look at the Kantian understanding of the concept, pointing to its ambiguity and outlining the problem of inconsistency and accuracy.

The aim of the paper is to formulate a more or less coherent proposition of a literary theory philosophically based on Thomism. The first part of the essay contains a short characteristic of the general relations between literary theory and philosophy along with a justification of the sensibility of the goal chosen. The second part is a short presentation of the manner the question of literature and its interpretation has been hitherto treated among the Thomists. For the purpose of brevity, it is done in an “exemplary” fashion, by reference to the thought of the two outstanding French Thomists: Etienne Gilson and Jacques Maritain. The third part is devoted to what is most essential for the work, namely: to an at-tempt at presenting a relatively coherent Thomist literary theory, in which attempt the concept of poetic intuition, coined by Maritain, plays a significant role. The text finds its conclusion in several remarks about the general benefits that could be drawn from applying the philosophical thought inspired by the heritage of Thomas Aquinas in literary studies.

Celem artykułu jest pokazanie, że filozofię Blaise’a Pascala można odczytać w taki sposób, że sceptycyzm zostaje w niej przezwyciężony nie za pomocą nadprzyrodzonej intuicji, ale za pomocą rozumowania o charakterze pragmatycznym. W tym celu zostają kolejno przedstawione: (1) metoda geometryczna jako najlepsza dostępna metoda uzasadniania twierdzeń, (2) cechy, które sprawiają, że ludzki rozum jest zawodny, (3) obrona przed sceptycyzmem wskazująca, że poza rozumem mamy jeszcze intuicyjne poznanie pierwszych zasad, (4) uwagi wskazujące, że takie poznanie nie może być źródłem pewności, (5) argumentacja, że powstałe sprzeczności nie są dla Pascala problematyczne, bo służą apologetycznemu celowi jego dzieła, a przedstawione argumenty sceptyczne nie uniemożliwiają racjonalnego działania.

Although the concept of intuition has a central place in experimental philosophy, it is still far from being clear. Moreover, critics of that movement often argue that the concept of intuition in experimental philosophy does not correspond to the concept of intuition used in traditional, armchair philosophy. However, such a claim is problematic, because most attempts to define this concept are made with regard to the armchair philosophy’s point of view and not that of experimental philosophy. In the article I analyse the concept of intuition in experimental philosophy by taking into account its theoretical assumptions, and the research practice of its representatives. By analysing the most influential experimental philosophers’ views, I formulate its core characteristics. According to them, intuition is a mental state that is a reaction to the described case, which is revealed in the readiness to express a judgment about this case. Then, I investigate step by step the frequently postulated methodological, phenomenological, and etiological conditions that could narrow down the initial definition. I show that the only condition coherent with experimental philosophy’s assumptions and its practice is an etiological one, as the mental state that could be classified as intuition has to be shaped by pragmatic, and not only semantic factors. In the last parts of the text, I draw out some of the consequences of the position that I have presented, regarding the methodology of experimental philosophy and philosophy in general.

The paper aims to explore the harmonious relations between man and nature, in terms of ecopsychology, representing a solutionfor pointless/deviant discussions in the field of post- and transhumanism, especially in the abnormal period of the pandemic. According to the author, the establishment of harmony is primarily contained in the “moderation” of the senses and the ratio through intuitive knowledge. The  establishment of several patterns of harmony will be considered through Honeyland ( 2019 ), the poetry of Koneski, and the eco analysis of Miljovska. The paper will examine the intuitive human abilityto establish this harmony, seen as a process of creating cosmic balance. The analyzed works manifest the harmonious relationship: human—biotope, principles of “eco-cosmos” of the local man.

The purpose of the article is to investigate the philosophical and theological validity and coherence of the classical concept of a miracle within the contemporary scientific world view. The main tool in this process will be the cognitive standard model of the formation of religious beliefs operative in the cognitive science of religion. The application of this model shows why an intentional agent is assigned as responsible for the occurrence of events with no visible cause such as a miracle: miracles are events that violate the intuitively expected behaviors observable in the physical reality. It will become evident that much of the conceptual content of the classical understanding of miracles can be retained despite of the ontological and epistemological challenges of the contemporary science. In particular, this concerns the semantic view of miracles in which a miracle does not occur as an objective Divine intervention but qualifies as religious interpretation of the natural course of events always in reference to a cultural and personal context that is unique to those who directly experience these events either as direct recipients or as observers.

The paper presents an interpretation of Platonism, the seeds of which can be found in the writings of Gödel and Wittgenstein. Although it is widely accepted that Wittgenstein is an anti-Platonist the author points to some striking affinities between Gödel’s and Wittgenstein’s accounts of mathematical concepts and the role of feeling and intuition in mathematics. A version of Platonism emerging from these considerations combines realism with respect to concepts with a view of concepts as accessible to feeling and able to guide our behavior through feeling.

The complexity of decision problems – faced by managers – eludes simple analyses, the most important managerial choices relate to situations which are variable, capricious and related to the unpredictable future. Such difficult conditions stimulate intuitive thinking. As it is defined, intuition is absolute recognition that allows us to see the problem as it is. Decision-makers use intuition not only to experience illumination, but more often to search for key information or to base their judgment on information creatively processed beyond consciousness. Each time, however, the difficulty of decision making process may encourage managers to overcome the fragility of human nature using some form of intuitive feelings.
