Doskonalenie umiejętności interpersonalnych jest jednym z celów kształcenia akademickiego na kierunkach pedagogicznych. W opracowaniu zaprezentowano analizę dotyczącą efektywność zajęć z treningu interpersonalnego przeprowadzonego dla studentów studiów licencjackich. Zaję-cia prowadzone były w ramach projektu „Kompetencje kluczem do kariery WF-P”. Ich celem było wzmocnienie kompetencji studentów w zakresie: synergicznego rozwiązywania problemów, świa-domości własnych aktów komunikacyjnych, umiejętności słuchania drugiego człowieka, odczyty-wania i wyrażania emocji, nawiązywania i utrzymywania kontaktów z innymi ludźmi, współpra-cowania w grupie oraz jasnego przekazywania myśli. Zaprezentowane wyniki wskazują na istotny wzrost tych kompetencji wśród uczestników projektu.
Improving interpersonal skills is one of the objectives of academic education in pedagogical fields of study. The paper presents an analysis of the effectiveness of interpersonal training classes for students up to a bachelor`s degree level. The classes were carried out under the project “Com-petences as a key to the career of WF-P”. The aim of the classes was to strengthen students' com-petence in: synergic problem solving, awareness of their communication acts, ability to listen to others, read and express emotions, establish and maintain relationships with others, collaborate in group, and communicate clearly. The presented results indicate the significant increase of these competences among the project participants.

Our times are often referred to as the new world order with its new economy. What this means is that capitalism has been restructured on a global scale, and people of widely different cultural and linguistic backgrounds have been thrown into contact more than ever before. Cultural contact may occur in the flows of information and mass media, as well as in the flows of actual people in migration. Given the ubiquity of cultural contact, mergers and hybrids, it is unsurprising that there should be a strong interest in intercultural communication. If intercultural communication is an exchange of stimuli, data and information through an interaction between individuals came from different local communication contexts, we can daily come across this type of communication process. Sociology as a discipline makes an important contribution to the study of intercultural communication: it is the key contribution of discourse analysis to take culture as empirical and cultural identity, difference and similarity as discursive constructions. Moreover, to investigate whether it is possible to avoid any of the problems of intercultural communication, it is suitable to start with the communication situation itself and analyze why misunderstanding and conflict arise. Today a new form of communication is necessary; it should take itself away from the temptation of merging, tolerating and joining together different cultural realities. Intercultural communication today moves towards an horizon much more complex, which offers a new interpretation: in fact it is necessary to promote cultural coordination and cooperation.

The aim of the article is to present the Polish version of Locke’s Circumplex Scales for Interpersonal Efficacy (CSIE) as well as to elucidate the personality correlates of interpersonal circumplex constructs and the scope of the repertoire of interpersonal behaviors. The CSIE is based on Wiggins’ interpersonal circumplex model (Wiggins, Trapnell, & Phillips, 1988) and enables the measurement of the eight facets of interpersonal self-efficacy: Dominant, Dominant & Distant, Distant, Yielding & Distant, Yielding, Yielding & Friendly, Friendly, Dominant & Friendly. The study was conducted on a sample of N = 306. The reliability of one scale (FG – Yielding & Distant) was low, and the reliabilities of the remaining scales were acceptable. The internal structure and construct validity of the instrument were satisfactory. Interpersonal self-efficacy was found to be most strongly associated with the Beta / Plasticity metatrait. This fact was discussed in the context of DeYoung’s (2015) Cybernetic Big Five Theory (CB5  . As indicators of the scope of the interpersonal repertoire two measures were used: interpersonal flexibility (profile elevation) and interpersonal rigidity (vector length). The flexibility of interpersonal self-efficacy and interpersonal traits were associated with extraversion, agreeableness, emotional stability, intellect, Alfa / Stability, Beta / Plasticity, and General Factor of Personality. In turn, the rigidity of interpersonal values and interpersonal traits correlated with extraversion, agreeableness, emotional stability, intellect, Alfa / Stability, Beta / Plasticity, and General Factor of Personality.
Celem artykułu jest prezentacja polskiej wersji kwestionariusza do pomiaru poczucia skuteczności interpersonalnej – Skal koła skuteczności interpersonalnej (Circumplex Scales for Interpersonal Efficacy; CSIE) Locke’a – oraz poznanie osobowościowych uwarunkowań konstruktów koła interpersonalnego i szerokości repertuaru zachowań interpersonalnych. CSIE są oparte na modelu koła interpersonalnego Wigginsa (Wiggins, Trapnell, Phillips, 1988) i mierzą 8 aspektów interpersonalnego poczucia skuteczności: Dominujący, Dominujący i Zdystansowany, Zdystansowany, Ustępliwy i Zdystansowany, Ustępliwy, Ustępliwy i Życzliwy, Życzliwy, Dominujący i Życzliwy. Badanie przeprowadzono na próbie N = 306. Rzetelność jednej skali (FG – Ustępliwy i Zdystansowany) jest niska, rzetelności pozostałych skal są zadowalające. Struktura wewnętrzna i trafność teoretyczna narzędzia są satysfakcjonujące. Stwierdzono, że interpersonalne poczucie skuteczności jest najsilniej powiązane z metacechą Beta / Plastyczność, co poddano dyskusji w kontek  ie Cybernetycznej Teorii Wielkiej Piątki (Cybernetic Big Five Theory; CB5T) DeYounga (2015). Jako wskaźniki szerokości repertuaru zachowań interpersonalnych zastosowano elastyczność interpersonalną (wzniesienie profilu) oraz sztywność interpersonalną (długość wektora). Elastyczność interpersonalnego poczucia skuteczności i cech interpersonalnych jest powiązana z ekstrawersją, ugodowością, stabilnością emocjonalną, intelektem, Alfą / Stabilnością, Betą / Plastycznością oraz Ogólnym Czynnikiem Osobowości. Z kolei sztywność wartości i cech interpersonalnych koreluje z ekstrawersją, ugodowością, stabilnością emocjonalną, intelektem, Alfą / Stabilnością, Betą / Plastycznością oraz Ogólnym Czynnikiem Osobowości.

A discrepancy between emotional reactions of old people and their depiction may be noticed in literature. Stereotypically, old age connotes worse functioning and negative feelings. On the other side many studies suggest that negative affect may decrease with age. In the study the part of emotional knowledge of two generations was compared. 66 young adults and 61 old people complet- ed a questionnaire in which they estimated the probability of emotional experiences in described situ- ations. The estimation was made three times and related to (1) the subject, (2) the subject's generation, (3) the opposite (younger or older) generation. Results show that old people perceive their own negative emotions as being more likely than young adults perceive their own feelings. Younger people perceived old people's emotional reactions correctly but the older group underestimated the probability of the other group's emotions, which potentially may be the reason of intergenerational misunderstandings.

The aim of the present study was the analysis of differences in intra and interpersonal perception in families with girls suffering from Anorexia Nervosa and families with healthy controls. Research was conducted among the group of 30 families with AN girl and 30 families with healthy girl. The perception of oneself and family members was investigated with the Semantic Differential Technique constructed by the author of the study. Differences were found in the self-perception and perception of a father between girls with AN and healthy girls (girls with AN have negative self-perception). No significant differences were found in self-perception of mothers and fathers and in perception of their daughters in both family groups.

Mimicry is known to produce benefits for the mimicker such as liking, increased prosocial tendencies (e.g., higher donations), and trust. Little is known about the benefits or costs to the mimickee. The aim of this study is to explore this issue. Participants were mimicked or not by a confederate. The confederate then dropped pens and checked if the participants picked them up (a proxy for prosocial behavior). Finally, questionnaires were administered that assessed each participant’s liking of the confederate and self-liking, and self-esteem. As expected, mimicked participants picked up more pens and liked the mimicker more. Surprisingly, mimicked participants reported significantly lower self-like when compared to non-mimicked participants, and their self-esteem tended towards being lower. This research fills an important theoretical gap showing that there is a great cost to mimicry.

The authors discuss in the article interpersonal communication in cohabitation relationships of women with a borderline personality disorder. 91 women aged between 21 and 40 who were in a consensual relationship participated in the research. The classification of the respondents to the criterion group was determined by the result obtained in the Borderline Personality Inventory (BPI) by F. Leichsenring in the Polish adaptation of Lidia Cierpiałkowska. 43 women were included in the criterion group, and the control group consisted of 48 women. The research also used the Marriage and Partnership Communication Questionnaire by Maria Kaźmierczak and Mieczysław Plopa. The analysis of the obtained results showed that women with borderline personality disorder show more depressing and less supportive and engaged communication behaviors compared to women without this disorder, both in self-perception and in the assessment of the partner’s communication behavior.

Introduction: Code of Conduct and Ethics for Nurses and Midwives is kind of a signpost for each and every member of professional association. They are so crucial, that one should not only know them but also implement in everyday situations in practice. Nowadays, in current organizational realities issues mentioned in Code on Conduct which are connected to professional relations in nursing teams in Poland become more predominant. This is why the aim of the study is the evaluation of ethical aspects in professional relations in nursing teams. Materials and method: The study was conducted using the diagnostic survey method with the use of original survey questionnaire. 115 nurses and midwives took place in the survey all of them being active staff and workers of one of the hospital of West-Pomeranian Poland. Results: A tree-step range was used to evaluate the researched issue. Obtained material showed that the professional relations in nursing teams are satisfactory. Conclusions: Research data analysis allowed to formulate a following conclusion: received satisfactory assessment in a given research group can be understood as an average level when talking about ethical aspects of professional relations in nursing teams. This can be seen as difficulties or even the lack of proper professional relations between nurses. This can influence the quality of provided services. Thus, it is important to take into consideration actions which aim at improvement such as special training in terms of psychological aspects of interpersonal relations in teams with regard to practice in particular.

In order to live a normal life, a person must answer the question about themselves - about their image, worldview, capabilities. Typically, one’s identity is built on the basis of the opinions of the environment. A person either compares themselves with it or uses the opinions of people who are important to them. In this way, the person builds their own inner continuity, which provides them with a sense of stability. It is a dynamic process which very often determines the colour and complexity of human life. Today, the closest environment are more and more often the social media. Especially for young people, they are becoming an important source of information about themselves and the world. Yet to what extent do social media offer opportunities for authentic manifestation of one’s self, and to what extent do they become a space for creating parallel identities? Young users are eager to use social media, which influence their lives and identities. The problem is illustrated with the example of China, a large and original social media market.

Idiomatic expressions in Florian Czarnyszewicz’s novels as a linguistic evidence of mutual relations of the Polish community by the Berezina river at the beginning of the 20th centuryThis article is an attempt at analysing collocations chosen from Florian Czarnyszewicz’s novels Nadberezyńcy and Wicik Żywica on the basis of their semantic classification. The subject of the analysis were collocations expressing mutual interpersonal relations: love, relations with family members or neighbours, fighting with somebody / showing hostility, punishment / revenge, killing / dying. The majority of the analysed idioms are used to express emotions, among which negative emotions prevail. The analysed units can be divided in the following way:typical of spoken Polishhaving full semantic, lexical and grammatical equivalents in Belorussianhaving full semantic, lexical and grammatical equivalents in Russianhaving full semantic, lexical and grammatical equivalents in Belorussian and Russian.This division results from the historical and linguistic conditions – the Poles inhabiting ethnic Belarus lived in a multinational environment. Traditional Polish communities were located near Belorussian and Russian (Old-Believers’) villages. The genetic proximity of the Polish, Belorussian (including dialects) and Russian languages gave rise to numerous language interferences. The evidence of this is the vocabulary used in Czarnyszewicz’s novels, especially idioms.

Analysing contemporary works on patterns of interpersonal conflict formation and resolution, one can quite easily notice the predominant tendency to reduce the problem of interpersonal disputes exclusively to psychological and pedagogical issues. Thus, matters such as the root causes of conflicts, attitudes towards them and conflict resolution strategies predominate. Conclusions arising from the research are reflected in recommendations and proposals with regard to conflict resolution in the school, work or family environment. Not denying in any way the importance of the research results on the psychological determinants of problematic interpersonal relations and the resulting recommendations, it is worth asking whether psychological knowledge, awareness of one’s own needs, communication and negotiation skills are sufficient to effectively confront difficulties in interpersonal relations and fulfil oneself as a person. This article attempts to argue for the inclusion of philosophical issues in the discussion of interpersonal conflict resolution, with a special focus on issues derived from existential philosophy of a theistic nature and personalism.

Background: A dissonance between high ‘technical’ professionalism of nurses and a relatively low level of patient satisfaction with received care is a phenomenon observed in many countries. Method: Theoretical concept and review of current published studies. Discussion: Most reviewed studies show that a low level of patient satisfaction occurs in the case of an inadequate interpersonal communication between nurses and patients. Most studies indicate poor effectiveness of shaping communication competences of nurses based on standard education in the area of general psychology and communication knowledge, because this knowledge does not convert itself ‘spontaneously’ into communication competences during occupational activity. Conclusions: It is necessary to supplement educational programmes for nurses with practical courses in professional interpersonal communication. International experience exchange concerning the shaping of nurses’ communication competences may be limited due to cultural, organizational and systems factors.

The study examines the associations of emotion understanding, interpersonal competencies, loneliness and correlated variables (perceived social support, quality of social networks). Two conceptual models of relations were tested. In the first model it was hypothesized that interpersonal competencies mediate relations between emotion understanding and loneliness, perceived social support and quality of social networks. In the second model emotion understanding was tested as a moderator of relationships between interpersonal competencies and loneliness, perceived social support and quality of social networks. Study 1 (n = 221) provided only a weak confirmation of the mediatory model, restricted to men. Study 2 (n = 206), employing different measures of emotion understanding and loneliness, confirmed weakly both the mediatory and moderatory models. In both studies a direct negative correlation between emotion understanding and loneliness was not confirmed.
