    International scientific conference Nowoczesne systemy slawistycznej informacji bibliograficznej – dziś i jutro (Warsaw, 8–9 October 2015)The article is a report from a conference organised in Warsaw on 8–9 October 2015 by the Slavic Academic Information Centre (Institute of Slavic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences), the Slavic Foundation and the Linguistic Bibliography Committee of the International Committee of Slavists. It was the second conference over the span of the last three years devoted to the newest trends in and future development of Slavic studies information systems. Międzynarodowa konferencja naukowa Nowoczesne systemy slawistycznej informacji bibliograficznej – dziś i jutro (Warszawa, 8–9 października 2015)Artykuł stanowi sprawozdanie z międzynarodowej konferencji zorganizowanej w Warszawie 8–9 października 2015 roku przez Centrum Slawistycznej Informacji Naukowej Instytutu Slawistyki Polskiej Akademii Nauk, Fundację Slawistyczną i Komisję Bibliografii Lingwistycznej przy Międzynarodowym Komitecie Slawistów. Była to druga na przestrzeni ostatnich trzech lat konferencja poświęcona najnowszym trendom w systemach slawistycznej bibliograficznej oraz ich rozwojowi w przyszłości.

    Opis:
    Prof. Walenty Piłat first co-operated with the Department of Russian Philology in the Higher Pedagogical School (in the mid-70s of the 20th c.). Prof. Piłat with Prof. Albert Bartoszewicz initiated a series of international Slavic conferences which have been organised in Olsztyn biennially until today. He also co-established Acta Polono- -Ruthenica, a scientific journal published in Olsztyn, and was its editor since 2001 to 2016. He always found it extremely important to cooperate with the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University in Kaliningrad. His academic interests have always centred on modern Russian drama, in this field he published extensively both in Poland and abroad. Not only a scientist, but also a teacher, he was a supervisor of a few dozen MA students and a few Ph.D. candidates.

    In 2019, the employees of the Institute of Eastern Slavic Studies are celebrating a triple jubilee: as an academic community – the 20th anniversary of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn; as humanities scholars – the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Humanities; finally, as philologists – the 20th anniversary of the Acta Neophilologica journal. Hence, we are summarizing academic achievements of researchers and teachers who have contributed to the establishment and development of the Institute. These are people who have had to face various problems on their professional path, yet their aim has always been to undertake, organize and popularize scientific research, improving their lectures and classes, promoting Eastern Slavic Studies as well as the university. This close-knit group of staff have contributed to and edited journals, organized conferences, participated in workshops, gaining new qualifications so that students could benefit from their expertise. Unfortunately, as a result of the reform of higher education enforced on the 1st of October 2019, the Institute of Eastern Slavic Studies will cease to exist.
