    Opis:
    This article describes a case study of an application of the method of creating innovations called SCAMPER for the development of new abrasive tools designed for machining of hard-to-cut materials. The SCAMPER method is used for innovative transformations of existing products, aimed at a modernization of their design, a construction and an extension of functions. This method was used in the procedure of modifying abrasive tools and it permitted a generation of a set of innovative solutions in this field. The methodology made it also possible to logically organize individual creative activities supported by the previously accumulated theoretical and experimental knowledge.

    Opis:
    The article is dedicated to the issue of developing skills and acquiring economic knowledge in early school-age children, in particular in the field of financial education. The concept of the innovative educational tool “I Think, Decide, Act-finances for the youngest” and the process of testing this didactic material for two and half years in grades 1–3 of primary schools in Poland were presented. The purpose of the above mentioned tool is to provide children with cognitive and social educational situations for independent and creative activity that requires solving economic, financial and social problems. The main research methods were a parallel group experiment and an interview with teachers. The results of studies comparing the level of knowledge and financial-mathematical skills of children in the pretest and post test indicate a statistically significant increase in the level in experimental group in comparison with the control one. The teachers’ opinions on the application of the innovative tool in school practice show its didactic and educational value, with a particular emphasis on the quality of proposed mathematical open-ended problems related to the practical context.

    Opis:
    This paper aims to introduce GIS, its definition, principle, application in any discipline particularly maritime, its process, data sets and features and its benefits to maritime and universities. Specifically, the paper intends to provide an overview of its wide applications in maritime including but not limited to marine transportation, marine environment, port management and operation, maritime education and training (MET) and maritime research. GIS simplest task is in mapping and visualization. But its most important function is in spatial analysis. Spatial analysis takes into account the location, geometry, topology, and relationships of geographic data, which lend itself to intelligent decision making. GIS is not just for researchers and students. GIS is especially useful for decision makers such as: managers, administrators, and directors of large and small projects. Scenarios are “seen” and analyzed even before events happen. To planners and decision makers, this is very important because they can assess the impact of events or scenario and may save a lot of time, effort, and money before implementing the actual project. An additional skill on GIS when learned or thought would certainly result to a technically competent maritime global workforce. The paper would provide ideas on possible areas for collaborations among TransNav member institutions for data sharing which may be processed and analyzed by a GIS specialist.

    Istnieje wiele różnorodnych narzędzi badawczych w socjologii. Oprócz typowych kwestionariuszy (ankiety, wywiadu, obserwacji), można także spotkać różnorodne schematy umożliwiające zbieranie danych i informacji, a także klucze kategoryzacyjne. Coraz częściej mają one postać instrumentów technicznych, programów i aplikacji, wykorzystujących odpowiednie techniki badawcze. Pomagają rejestrować dane w sposób szybki i zagregowany, od nich również nierzadko zależy rzetelności wyników badań, a możliwość archiwizowania i przechowywania danych na każdym etapie realizacji badania zapewnia poprawność procedury badawczej. Artykuł ma na celu ukazanie możliwości zastosowania nowego medium i nowego narzędzia badawczego do realizacji badań społecznych na bardzo szeroką skalę. Dzięki narzędziom realizowanym przez dekodery telewizji kablowej możliwe będzie przeprowadzenie badań: sondażowych, diagnostycznych, marketingowych, politycznych, badań rynku czy socjometrycznych. Właściciele sieci telewizji kablowej będą mogli realizować badania na własne potrzeby oraz na potrzeby: przedsiębiorców, organizacji non- -profit, instytucji, samorządów lub udostępniać narzędzie wyspecjalizowanym agencjom badań rynku i opinii publicznej.
    There are many different research tools in sociology. In addition to typical questionnaires (surveys, interviews, observations), one can also find various schemes to collect data and information, as well as the categorization keys. More and more often, they are in the form of technical instruments, programs and applications which use appropriate research techniques. They help to record data in a quick and aggregated way, from which the reliability of research results is also often dependent, and the possibility of archiving and storing data at every stage of the research ensures correctness of the research procedure. The article aims to show the possibility of using a new medium and a new research tool to carry out social research on a very large scale. Thanks to the tools implemented by cable television decoders, it will be possible to carry out the survey, diagnostic, marketing, political and market research as well as the sociometric research. The owners of cable television networks will be able to carry out research for their own needs and for the needs of entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, institutions, local governments or make the tool available to specialized agencies for market and public opinion research.

    Noże styczno-obrotowe są to narzędzia skrawające stosowane w wielu branżach, zwłaszcza górniczej, drogowej i budowlanej. Kontakt z urabianą calizną powoduje ich ciągłe zużycie. W artykule omówiono rozwiązania konstrukcyjne noży styczno-obrotowych, ich budowę, wymiary oraz stosowane materiały. Opisano zabiegi techniczne stosowane w celu zwiększenie ich trwałości, jak również regeneracji. Omówiono również autorskie, objęte zgłoszeniem o patent na wynalazek, sposoby wydłużenia czasu pracy noży w trudnych warunkach. Pierwsze z tych rozwiązań dotyczy zapewnienia niezakłóconego ruchu obrotowego noża w uchwycie. Zastrzeżenia patentowe obejmują nowatorskie łożyskowanie obrotowe dodatkowej tulei zintegrowanej z uchwytem, która umożliwia ciągły obrót noża. Uchwyt przeznaczony jest do mocowania klasycznych noży handlowych. Wymiana noża odbywa się bez ingerencji w węzeł łożyskowy. Drugie rozwiązanie dotyczy sposobu zabezpieczenia części roboczej noża za pomocą specjalnego elementu z materiału trudnościeralnego. Element ten stanowi ostrze noża o geometrii odbiegającej od standardowo stosowanych słupków z węglików spiekanych. W rozwiązaniu tym ostrze ma kształt odpowiadający formie zużycia noża styczno-obrotowego, przez co jego stalowy korpus nie zużywa się.
    Conical picks are cutting tools used in many branches, in particular in the mining, road construction and building branch. Contact with the excavated face causes their constant wear, which is an unfavourable but unavoidable process. In the article various solutions of conical picks, their construction, dimensions and materials used have been discussed. Technical procedures applied to increase the durability of conical picks and their regeneration as well as methods of extending the life of picks working in difficult conditions have been presented. Two author’s methods of extending the life of picks working in difficult conditions, covered by a patent application, have also been presented. The first solution involves ensuring an uninterrupted rotational movement of the pick in the holder. Patent claims include an innovative method of equipping the additional sleeve integrated with the holder with a rotational bearing, which enables a continuous rotation of the commercial pick. The pick replacement does not require interfering with the bearing assembly. The second solution concerns the manner of protecting the working part of the pick by means of a special element made of an abrasion resisting material. This element is the pick tip, the geometry of which varies from the commonly applied posts made of sintered carbide. In this solution, the tip has a shape corresponding to the form of conical pick’s wear, which causes that its steel body does not wear.

    Conical picks are cutting tools used in many branches, in particular in the mining, road construction and building branch. Contact with the excavated face causes their constant wear, which is an unfavorable but unavoidable process. Milling heads of working machines are equipped with several dozen conical picks, and mining in abrasive or hardly accessible rocks can reduce their life to a few hours. It is in the interest of both users and producers to increase their durability, as tools replacement, apart from purchase and logistic costs, results in machine downtimes. In the article various solutions of conical picks, their construction, dimensions and materials used have been discussed. Technical procedures applied to increase the durability of conical picks and their regeneration as well as methods of extending the life of picks working in difficult conditions have been presented. Two author’s methods of extending the life of picks working in difficult conditions, covered by a patent application, have also been presented. The first solution involves ensuring an uninterrupted rotational movement of the pick in the holder. Patent claims include an innovative method of equipping the additional sleeve integrated with the holder with a rotational bearing, which enables a continuous rotation of the pick. The tool equipped with a bearing generates much lower movement resistance than the standard mounting. The holder is designed to mount classic commercial picks. What is important, the pick replacement does not require interfering with the bearing assembly. The second solution concerns the manner of protecting the working part of the pick by means of a special element made of an abrasion resisting material. This element is the pick tip, the geometry of which varies from the commonly applied posts made of sintered carbide. In this solution, the tip has a shape corresponding to the form of conical pick’s wear, which causes that its steel body does not wear. Moreover, there is a possibility of applying a mobile, rotational mounting of the tip to the body.

    Audiodeskrypcja to jedna z innowacyjnych technik medialnych, która umożliwia odbiór tekstów kultury wizualnej przez osoby niewidzące lub osoby słabowidzące. Jest efektywnym narzędziem, dzięki któremu osoby niepełnosprawne mogą doświadczać treści dotychczas niedostępnych. Z tych powodów audiodeskrypcja stanowi przedmiot wzmożonego zainteresowania edukacji polisensorycznej. Tekst przedstawia podstawowe ustalenia o audiodeskrypcji oraz prezentuje możliwości wykorzystania jej w praktyce szkolnej na lekcjach języka polskiego. Wskazane w artykule materiały z audiodeskrypcją są środkami dydaktycznymi o ogromnym potencjale edukacyjnym, które proponują uczniom niepełnosprawnym fascynującą podróż przez świat różnych znaków.
    The audio description is one of the innovative media technologies, which allows to receive texts visual culture by the persons blind or the people low vision. Is an effective tool through which people with disabilities may experience the contents not yet available. For these reasons, the audio description is the subject of the increased interest in the multisensory education. The text presents the basic findings about the audio description and presents the possibilities of using it in school practice, on the lessons of the Polish language. Indicated in article the audio description’s materials are the teaching resources about the huge potential of education that the students with the disabilities have a fascinating journey through the world of different signs.
